Hi, everyone, Saffron here and this week, they've given me

my very own Style Download.

Now, I've come all the way to Yorkshire to surprise Larissa,

who needs help planning for that all-important school disco.

Hi, I'm Larissa, I'm ten and this is where I live.

I live here with my mum, Darren and my little sister, Isabelle.

I've got a school disco coming up.

I want to make it really special but I don't know how.

Larissa has been really looking forward to this gala disco.

It's all she's gone on about.

She's really excited about it so it's got to be really special.

Now, I've been to a few school discos in my time,

so I know what I'm talking about.

I'd better go and surprise her and give her a few tips.

Hi, Larissa. Hello.

Hi, Larissa.

I'm Saffron, I'm here to help you plan for your party.

-Is it OK if I come in?

-Yeah.

-Cool, OK.

OK, so, Larissa, tell me about your problem.

Well, I've got a school gala disco coming up

and I want it to be really special but I have no idea how.

OK, well, I think we can come up with the perfect outfit with

what you've already got.

I've got some pretty cool accessories to help you

-and your friends stand out.

-Nice.

-What else?

-Well, we can never decide on the same tunes.

-OK, so, music choice.

We can help you with that, don't worry. When did you say it was?

Tonight.

Oh, OK. I thought you were going to say that.

-Let's do clothes first. Where's your room?

-Up there.

-Cool, let's go.

OK, Larissa, the most important thing to remember

when you're going to wear something to a disco,

is wear something bright.

Nothing too gaudy, don't try and mix patterns or anything,

just something that will make you pop and stand out.

Shoe wise, I'd say wear something smart,

but comfortable at the same time,

because if you're going to be dancing,

you don't want your feet to be sore.

-Where are your clothes?

-Right here.

-Let's find you an outfit.

-Dance with me. You're going to a disco.

-What about these?

Yeah, they're nice but they're not comfortable enough, I don't think.

OK, these are awesome. You are wearing these.

-I don't care what you say, you are wearing these.

-I have to.

-How about these?

-Perfect. OK, so we've got your outfit nailed.

-Do you like it?

-Love it. I love the bright colours and all the patterns.

It's just brilliant. So now it's time to tackle the music. Let's go.

OK, Larissa.

So, I remember that you said you have a hard time choosing music

-when you're at a disco. Is that fair to say?

-Yes.

So my solution to that, is to make a song selector. How does that sound?

That sounds great.

We've got paper, pens and scissors,

so I'll get folding and I want you to write down your favourite bands.

# The sun goes down

# The stars come out

# And all that counts is here and now

# My new universe will never be the same

# I'm glad you came

# I'm glad you came... #

-OK, so you pick a colour and then count out the letters.

-Red.

You picked out red. If you chose red, it will be one, two, three.

Then whatever number you land on, is your song.

-If you picked three, you would be listening to Domino.

-Cool.

So that is music sorted, but every good song needs a good dance move

and I've got a little bit of a surprise for you

because our very own Aidan Davis, right,

has choreographed a dance move for you to do at your disco.

So, let's have a look.

Hello, Larissa, Aidan here.

I'm going to teach you a little move that you can do at your school

disco to wow your friends and be like, "Oh, Aidan taught me that."

This is the move.

Now, what we do here is really simple.

It's just, one, two, one, two, one, two, one, two.

Start by doing this first.

You go, hit, hit, whoop, yeah, hit, hit, whoop, yeah.

It goes to literally any song. We've got different speeds.

We've got a faster one. Slower one.

That's the move. Easy.

-I absolutely love that.

-Are you are feeling confident about it?

-Yeah, really confident.

Just add a bit of swag and you're fine.

It sounds like your friends are here,

so before you go and answer the door,

I've brought you some glow-in-the-dark bracelets.

They will really help you stand out at the disco. So, enjoy.

If you need help preparing for a disco or even a party,

then here are some tips how.

Tip one, styling.

If you want to be noticed at the party,

a bright colour is essential but try

and complement it with a plain colour to get the balance right.

Then you'll need your dancing shoes.

Remember, it's important to look dressed up but you don't want

sore feet, so smart trainers or flats are often a good option.

Tip two, the song selector.

Sometimes it's hard to know which song you want to hear

and a song selector is a great way of making the difficult choice easy.

Simply cut a piece of paper into a square,

then fold in the corners to the centre,

turn the paper over and fold in the corners to the centre again.

Fold the paper in half and there you have your song selector.

Then write the names of your favourite songs or bands

into the inside corners and number 1 to 8.

And on the outside, write four colours of your choice.

To select your song,

pick a colour then count out the letters of that colour,

moving the selector each time.

Whichever colour it lands on, pick a number and peel back

to reveal the song or band.

The more you make for you and your friends,

the longer the music will last.

Tip three, standing out.

A great way for you and your friends to stand out, is by all

wearing the same accessory or even learn your own dance move.

It lets everyone know that you're all friends,

plus it can help you find each other if you get lost at the party.

Larissa was lucky enough to have Aidan choreograph a move for her,

but you can easily make your own one up.

You can also accessorise by using glowing wristbands or necklaces,

but always ask an adult to check they have a CE safety mark.

There is no doubt that Larissa's disco

is going to be one to remember.
