When I say Treasure Champs, you're supposed to toot your trumpet.

I'm scared. I've never played my trumpet in front of...

..all the Treasure Champs before.

Oh, you need some of today's treasure -

you need some courage.

Great. Where can I get some?

-HE LAUGHS

-It's inside you.

Courage just means being brave.

Especially when you're not feeling brave.

-Would you like to press this instead?

-Er...

It's nothing to worry about. It's like when there's a party.

It just makes a really loud noise and fills the air

with whooshy flying things!

-BANG!

-Gah!

Courage is where you don't want to do something,

and you could have a try

to see if you could do it.

My grandma's got lots of courage because she was scared of sparrows,

but when she put a glove on, sparrows came and sat on it.

Courage is when you overcome your fears

and, like, you be brave and then you just do it.

You need to have courage if you're a fireman,

cos if you're a fireman you don't want to get burned by the fire.

When superheroes have real courage inside them, they can save the day.

Having courage can be a bit hard sometimes.

Not for me. I'm always courageous.

Even in the dark?

I guess I do find it hard to be courageous sometimes.

Well, you did have courage when I was

too scared to buy my trumpet, remember?

Oh, I can't do it!

I'm a bit scared too, but...I'll do it.

Here goes!

Well, I think it's time for a story about a Treasure Champ.

Some of you may know this one. It's about a very, very

courageous young man.

Hiya, I'm Ben, and this is the exciting story of

Daniel And The Lions.

THEY ROAR

Oh! Phew! On with the story.

Daniel was a servant to the king,

and lived in a place called Babylon.

Daniel did lots of jobs for the king,

like maybe polishing his crown.

Now, the king of Babylon liked Daniel very, very much.

"Here's your crown, my king."

"Thank you, Daniel.

"Now, you know I like you. In fact, I like you so much, I'm going

"to put you in charge of the whole country."

"Wow!"

But some of the other servants to the king were jealous of Daniel

because they wanted to be in charge instead of him.

So, the servants thought how they could get Daniel into trouble.

But getting Daniel into trouble was very tricky,

because Daniel was a good person who worked very hard.

Very hard, indeed. Phew!

So, they tricked the king into agreeing to a new rule.

"What's this?"

The servants told the king it was a new rule he'd made up,

and so he announced it. "Thanks very much.

"From now on, people will only pray to me.

"Anyone caught praying to anybody else will be thrown to the lions!"

THEY ROAR

This meant that Daniel had a really big decision to make.

Praying to his god was even more important

that being a good servant to the king!

So, Daniel was very courageous, and kept praying to his god

every day, just as he'd always done.

But the servants spotted him.

"What's this?"

The king was told that Daniel had broken the rule

and had to be punished. "Thank you, thank you.

"Now, I still like Daniel very, very much,

"but he did not pray to me, and broke the rule,

"so now he must be thrown into the den of ferocious lions!"

LION ROARS

Daniel was trapped, face-to-face with the big-toothed hungry beasts.

THEY GROWL

What would happen to him?

That night, the king couldn't sleep. He was worrying about Daniel.

"Oh, what have I done? What have I done?!"

So, in the morning, he rushed to find him.

"Oh, dear.

"Daniel's been in the lions' den all night, and it's my fault."

But as the king got closer to the den, he looked in and saw...

Daniel was fine!

The king was amazed. How had Daniel survived?

Courageous Daniel said, "My king, when I was in the lions' den,

"I prayed, and all the lions' mouths were shut tight.

"The lions didn't hurt me because I've done nothing wrong."

"Wahoo! Daniel's OK!", said the king.

"You were very courageous

"because you stood up for what you knew was right."

It's a very old story from the Bible and Hebrew Bible.

Hi, I'm Grace, and I'm eight years old.

Seven weeks ago, I fell over in the park and broke my arm.

The doctor looked after me and put this plaster cast on my arm.

A plaster cast is like a very hard bandage, to keep my arm nice

and still, to help the bone to mend.

Today, I've come to the hospital to get my cast removed,

because my arm is better.

-OK, Grace, let's get the cast off now.

-OK.

Even though I've been to hospital before, I'm a bit nervous.

But I brought Bella, my doll, with me, to help me feel brave.

The machine makes a really loud noise, and it's tickling my arm.

Hospitals can seem such strange places.

Going to one can feel scary.

But you need to be brave and courageous, because the doctors

and nurses are all there to look after you.

-So, it's going to feel a little bit stiff, like last time, OK?

-Yeah.

And it will be a little bit thinner than the other arm.

There we go. Well done, Grace. Just take it easy with that arm, OK?

That's your one in plaster, and that's your one today.

-It's much better, but it's not quite fully there.

-OK.

-We'll give you a splint to wear.

-Ooh.

-The ones that look like a skateboard wrist guard?

-Yeah.

-One of them, OK?

-And what I need is your thumb to stick out a bit.

-Like that?

-Like that, that's right. This one fits.

I'm not the only one who's hurt themselves.

Everyone here's been really brave.

I'm really happy my arm is better.

Now I'm going to have lots of courage

and play in the playground again.

Hi, I'm Imogen, and this is my mum.

And this is Snowflake.

Hello, Snowflake.

We love going riding together.

We want Snowflake to look her best.

We're taking part in a big competition.

It's exciting, but I'm a bit nervous.

And I think Snowflake is, too.

The competition is happening a long, long way away.

There are loads of other people with ponies and horses.

I put on my riding hat and my gloves.

Now, we're ready to go.

There are other people taking part today.

We ride our horses around a really big course.

I'm starting to feel a bit worried.

-Are you ready to go?

-Yes.

-Yeah?

-We're going to go and do this?

-Yes.

-Good.

Walk on, Snowflake.

The course is really tricky.

There are so many people watching me.

I'm so proud of you being so brave.

I've got a nervous feeling inside me.

I know how this feels.

-Her tummy's feeling all wobbly.

-Mmm.

But if she has courage, it'll be worth it.

Wow! She was brilliant!

Hooray! Hooray!

It feels amazing to have finished.

I'm so glad I did this.
