Hi, Treasure Champs.

Today's treasure is obedience,

which means to follow rules.

And it's very important

because rules are there for a very good reason.

Even if we don't understand why.

Hi, Barry. Do you want to come and play with the ball?

Eh, Kari, didn't you see the sign?

The sign? Oh, don't worry.

Oh-ho-ho, yeah.

The sign doesn't mean, draw a line on your ball.

It means, no balls allowed here.

It's a rule.

But I don't like that rule.

-That's not very...

Obedient means when you follow a rule.

Being obedient means doing things the right way.

Obedient is where you listen to your parents

and you do what they say and you don't get hurt.

It's important to be obedient

so you don't break anything that might be valuable.

At tea time, sometimes my brother doesn't follow the rules

and he runs upstairs and hides in his wardrobe.

When I go home, I have to follow the rules to do my chores

and tidy my room.

Hmm.

I still can't think of any reason

why I shouldn't play with the ball here.

-But there is a reason.

-Watch out!

I said, "There is a reason for the rule."

The reason is...

Oops.

I guess that means there aren't any rules now.

So it's time for my highest throw ever.

How did that happen?

That is why the sign was there.

Now, as long as everybody is obedient and follows my new rule,

And here's a story about a Treasure Champ

who learned all about obedience.

Hello, I'm Jonah.

And this is the incredible story of another man called Jonah,

who was friends with his god.

It's called Jonah And The Big Fish.

Once there was a city called Nineveh

where the people didn't follow God's rules.

-They were very disobedient.

-CHILDREN: Na-na-na-na-na!

And very naughty.

Now, Jonah was one of God's messengers.

And one day God said to Jonah...

Jonah, go tell the people of Nineveh that I love them

and they should stop being naughty.

The rules I've given them are good.

If they start being obedient, they will be much happier.

But, God, I don't see the point.

The people of Nineveh are really naughty.

They'll never learn to be obedient.

Now, don't you start being disobedient.

Please do what I told you to do.

OK, God.

I'll go tell the people of Nineveh they should stop being naughty.

Though I still don't think it'll work.

But just as soon as Jonah thought that God wasn't looking,

he decided he wouldn't do what God had told him to do.

And then, Jonah got into a boat with some sailors.

And sailed away in the opposite direction.

Suddenly, there was a huge storm.

The wind howled and the waves were enormous.

The boat was tossed this way and that.

Ah! This storm is all my fault.

It's because I wasn't obedient.

I believe, if you throw me into the sea,

the storm will stop and the boat won't get smashed by the waves.

So the sailors threw Jonah into the sea.

Whoa!

SPLASH

Amazingly, the storm stopped.

The waves became calm

and the wind died down.

But now Jonah was just bobbing in the sea.

And all he could see was water,

water,

water.

How was he ever going to get to shore?

Then something amazing happened.

A giant fish swallowed him whole.

But don't worry, God didn't send the giant fish to eat Jonah,

he sent it to save him so that he wouldn't drown.

Jonah camped out in the belly of the fish for three whole days,

which gave him lots of time to think about how good God had been

to rescue him.

Then God told the fish to take Jonah to the shore.

Whoa!

God had saved Jonah.

Though he must have smelled terrible.

Eurgh!

Jonah was very thankful and decided to be obedient

and do what God had asked him to do.

So Jonah went to Nineveh and said to the people...

"God says, 'Please stop being naughty.'

"You should obey his rules, they're really good."

Na-na-na-na-na!

And to his surprise,

all the people of Nineveh said sorry for the things they had done wrong.

They decided to be obedient.

Jonah was amazed.

I'm Sophia and this is my brother, Miles.

We're going into the woods today with our friends.

We are wearing wellies

because the ground is very muddy.

Now we're ready for our adventure in the woods.

We're all really excited.

Hi, guys. I'm Ranger Adam and welcome to the woods.

Now, today, what we're going to do is make sure that you are safe

whilst you are in the woods.

He teaches children like us how to have fun in the woods.

In a little while, we will actually be going collecting some sticks.

And we will be bringing them all back to the fire,

we'll be getting a fire going,

so that we can, hopefully, toast some marshmallows.

OK, so we're now going to go and collect some sticks,

ready for the marshmallows and the fire. Is everybody ready?

-ALL: Yes!

-OK, then let's go.

So, snappy wood...is fire happy wood.

We found out which sticks are best for the fire

and which are best for the marshmallows.

This one might be really, really good for your marshmallow.

We collect as many sticks as we can.

OK, so now what we need to do,

now we've collected in all our sticks,

we'll sort them all out and once we've then done that,

we can then get the fire striker to light them.

There we go.

-Whoa!

Adam teaches us to keep a safe distance

and always face the fire.

Hold your stick at the end

and then you can place it just above the flames.

And what I'd like you to, first of all, start doing,

is turning it round nice and slowly.

Obeying the rules makes everything safer.

Yay! They're being really obedient

and having a really good time.

We have to wait for them to cool down before we eat them.

I love marshmallows. They are yummy.
