This is Madagascar. | 0:00:02 | 0:00:03
It's a vast island in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. | 0:00:03 | 0:00:07
And it's home to some of the most unique | 0:00:07 | 0:00:09
and rare creatures on the planet. | 0:00:09 | 0:00:11
Incredibly, 80% of the wildlife here exists nowhere else on earth. | 0:00:11 | 0:00:15
LEMUR HOWLS | 0:00:15 | 0:00:18
But it's a paradise under threat. | 0:00:19 | 0:00:21
So I've sent eight ordinary kids from the UK to have | 0:00:26 | 0:00:30
the Deadly adventure of their lives. | 0:00:30 | 0:00:32
Agh! | 0:00:32 | 0:00:34 | |
They'll face the toughest challenges... | 0:00:34 | 0:00:37
and discover for themselves how to save this lost world... | 0:00:37 | 0:00:40
..before it's too late. | 0:00:42 | 0:00:44
With just three days left of their trip, | 0:01:20 | 0:01:23
the team are facing their final and biggest challenge. | 0:01:23 | 0:01:26
Their aim is to reforest an entire area that was previously | 0:01:28 | 0:01:32
cut down to build a railway. | 0:01:32 | 0:01:34
Come on, guys, we need to hurry up. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:36
-For some, it's been hard, backbreaking work. -It isn't working. | 0:01:36 | 0:01:41
Ugh, I hate it. | 0:01:41 | 0:01:42
For others, just another competition. | 0:01:44 | 0:01:46
I don't know if you've noticed but everything we've done | 0:01:46 | 0:01:49
on this trip has been a competition. And I liked it that way. | 0:01:49 | 0:01:52
But either way they're still short of the 500 trees target. | 0:01:52 | 0:01:57
As they discovered, | 0:01:58 | 0:02:00
one of the major issues the wildlife is facing is habitat destruction. | 0:02:00 | 0:02:04
It's really sad that it's in so much trouble right now. | 0:02:05 | 0:02:09
So, to make a difference, they've split into teams to try and reforest | 0:02:11 | 0:02:16
this area and to see which team gets their flag into the middle first. | 0:02:16 | 0:02:20
With the first day over | 0:02:24 | 0:02:25
and each completed tree stake wearing colourful tape, | 0:02:25 | 0:02:28
confidence is high that they'll complete this task in time. | 0:02:28 | 0:02:32
We won't need the whole three days. | 0:02:34 | 0:02:36
But at the end of the day, Yusuf, the tree expert, has informed | 0:02:40 | 0:02:44
Doug, the team leader, that many of the trees are bad and has started | 0:02:44 | 0:02:48
removing the tape from those that have not been planted correctly. | 0:02:48 | 0:02:52
I take this blue tape. | 0:02:53 | 0:02:55
They planted it wrong. | 0:02:55 | 0:02:57
So, in the morning, the guys are going to find out they've got ... | 0:02:59 | 0:03:03
more work than they maybe realised. | 0:03:03 | 0:03:05
It's early in the morning. | 0:03:13 | 0:03:15
And the teams' competitive and buoyant mood is still bubbling away. | 0:03:15 | 0:03:20
-Good morning! -I'm full of energy, full of energy! | 0:03:20 | 0:03:24
But almost immediately, suspicions starts to grow. | 0:03:24 | 0:03:28
-I swear they've moved our flag back. -They have. | 0:03:28 | 0:03:32
-What happened to that gaffer tape? -That had gaffer tape yesterday. | 0:03:33 | 0:03:37
All of these had gaffer tape yesterday | 0:03:37 | 0:03:39
because I did all of these. | 0:03:39 | 0:03:41
And the crew have the unenviable task | 0:03:41 | 0:03:43
of telling the teams the bad news. | 0:03:43 | 0:03:45
So, as you notice, they've moved your flag back | 0:03:45 | 0:03:48
and there's a reason for this | 0:03:48 | 0:03:50
because Yusuf walked round yesterday and he looked at all the trees | 0:03:50 | 0:03:54
and some of them haven't been planted properly. | 0:03:54 | 0:03:56
He found some with blue sticky tape on and no trees in them at all. | 0:03:56 | 0:04:00
And he found some which were not planted correctly. | 0:04:00 | 0:04:02
I think about 40 haven't been planted properly. | 0:04:02 | 0:04:05
Which means the trees might not grow to maturity | 0:04:05 | 0:04:08
and all your hard work has been for nothing. | 0:04:08 | 0:04:11
They were so focused on beating the others that the treeplanting | 0:04:11 | 0:04:15
standard fell below what was acceptable. | 0:04:15 | 0:04:18
Yusuf knows that if these trees aren't planted correctly, | 0:04:18 | 0:04:21
the way he showed them, the seedlings will die | 0:04:21 | 0:04:24
and all of their hard work will have been for nothing. | 0:04:24 | 0:04:27
After all that work in the hot sun, it's a real setback. | 0:04:28 | 0:04:32
-Motivation hits rock bottom. -Hey, more fun. -I'm sorry, guys. | 0:04:32 | 0:04:38
But we need to do it right. | 0:04:38 | 0:04:40
If we're going to do it, we have to do it right. | 0:04:40 | 0:04:42
The crew decide that even though it'll lose both teams | 0:04:42 | 0:04:44
valuable time planting on site, the teams need something to | 0:04:44 | 0:04:48
remind them about the vital importance of this final challenge. | 0:04:48 | 0:04:51
We're going to take you off to somewhere else to remind you | 0:04:51 | 0:04:54
why we're planting these trees so you can see | 0:04:54 | 0:04:57
and get some motivation back for carrying on today. | 0:04:57 | 0:05:00
-Shall we head off? -OK. | 0:05:01 | 0:05:03
Hopefully, this excursion will give them | 0:05:07 | 0:05:10
a much-needed boost to their flagging energy levels. | 0:05:10 | 0:05:13
20 minutes later, the Orange team are waiting in a forest outpost | 0:05:21 | 0:05:25
and for the very first time cracks are starting to show. | 0:05:25 | 0:05:28
I think people were not trying enough to do it properly. | 0:05:28 | 0:05:33
-Aimed at me. -Some of those trees were yours. | 0:05:33 | 0:05:35
I'm just saying. | 0:05:35 | 0:05:36
We do think everyone... | 0:05:36 | 0:05:39
some of the trees that weren't right were everyone's. | 0:05:39 | 0:05:42
Everyone will have made mistakes. | 0:05:42 | 0:05:44
We're just saying that some people haven't tried hard enough. | 0:05:44 | 0:05:48
The reason we are doing it is to plant trees | 0:05:48 | 0:05:50
so no point in doing them wrong. | 0:05:50 | 0:05:53
Yeah, we're obviously not going to win now, so what's the point? | 0:05:53 | 0:05:57
It's not a competition! What were you ever going to win? Nothing! | 0:05:57 | 0:06:02
-The competition was just to make us do it faster. -Absolutely nothing. | 0:06:02 | 0:06:06
With mood is still no better, they're introduced to Josef, | 0:06:10 | 0:06:13
a local guide, and they follow him into the forest. | 0:06:13 | 0:06:17
Josef's pretty much a one-off. | 0:06:19 | 0:06:21
He's developed a unique connection with a special animal | 0:06:21 | 0:06:24
that lives here. | 0:06:24 | 0:06:25
But so distracted with their own problems, | 0:06:28 | 0:06:31
none of them have even thought of asking where they might be going. | 0:06:31 | 0:06:34
Meanwhile, the others have gone off in the opposite | 0:06:41 | 0:06:44
direction for a real tourist encounter. | 0:06:44 | 0:06:47
Trouble is that to experience it, it's not a hike but a river trip. | 0:06:47 | 0:06:51
And for some this brings back bad memories. | 0:06:51 | 0:06:54
Ugh! | 0:06:55 | 0:06:57 | |
-Where? -Under my seat. | 0:06:57 | 0:06:59
I was ready about an hour ago to get out the little boat thing. | 0:07:00 | 0:07:03
Only this time Jamie Rose won't even have to lift a finger. | 0:07:05 | 0:07:09
We can relax, he's going to do it for us. | 0:07:09 | 0:07:12
A much easier task than Raina, Charlie, | 0:07:14 | 0:07:17
Yoran and Eilidh who are on another uphill humid jungle trek. | 0:07:17 | 0:07:22
We've gone deeper into the forest now. | 0:07:22 | 0:07:25
We've been walking for about ten minutes. | 0:07:25 | 0:07:28
And...I still don't know where we're going. | 0:07:28 | 0:07:31
The mood is at an all-time low. | 0:07:33 | 0:07:36
I don't know where we're going, I don't know what we're doing. | 0:07:37 | 0:07:40
The question is, is all this hard work going to be worth it? | 0:07:42 | 0:07:47
But then something stops them in their tracks. | 0:07:47 | 0:07:50
-Indri. -Indri. | 0:07:59 | 0:08:01
Our team have just spotted the reason why they're here | 0:08:01 | 0:08:04
to plant trees in the first place. This is the Indri, | 0:08:04 | 0:08:08
the largest of all the living lemurs. | 0:08:08 | 0:08:10
These black and white beauties can grow | 0:08:12 | 0:08:14
to about as big as a four-year-old child | 0:08:14 | 0:08:17
and are of the most endangered primates on the planet. | 0:08:17 | 0:08:21
They're also one of the loudest. | 0:08:21 | 0:08:22
These eerie calls echo through the forest | 0:08:29 | 0:08:31
and can be heard over a mile away. | 0:08:31 | 0:08:33
They live in small family groups | 0:08:35 | 0:08:37
and Charlie spots something on one of the adults. | 0:08:37 | 0:08:40
(Oh my God. Oh, God.) | 0:08:45 | 0:08:48
Indris only give birth once every two years | 0:08:54 | 0:08:57
so to be here at this exact time | 0:08:57 | 0:08:59
and see a baby that's only two months old is a wonderful moment. | 0:08:59 | 0:09:03
Meanwhile, the others are in for a completely different | 0:09:07 | 0:09:10
kind of close encounter. | 0:09:10 | 0:09:12
MEN WHISTLE | 0:09:14 | 0:09:17
WHISTLING CONTINUES | 0:09:21 | 0:09:23
-Ah! -Whoa! | 0:09:23 | 0:09:24
A ring-tailed lemur! | 0:09:24 | 0:09:26
Oh, my gosh... | 0:09:26 | 0:09:27
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven! | 0:09:27 | 0:09:31
Seven ring-tailed lemurs. | 0:09:31 | 0:09:32
Oh, my God. It's on the boat, it's on the boat! | 0:09:32 | 0:09:34
It's behind you. Oh, wow! | 0:09:34 | 0:09:37
Oh, my God! | 0:09:37 | 0:09:41
Oh, my word! | 0:09:41 | 0:09:43
Oh, my gosh! | 0:09:45 | 0:09:46
Oh, wow. | 0:09:48 | 0:09:50
Lemur Island was set up some years ago, using rehabilitated animals | 0:09:50 | 0:09:54
that are now living a semi-wild existence. | 0:09:54 | 0:09:57
I've got two on my knee. Oh, my God! | 0:09:57 | 0:10:00
I swear they love my hair. | 0:10:00 | 0:10:02
This lot are now ambassadors for all lemur-kind. | 0:10:02 | 0:10:05
So used to people, and always hungry. | 0:10:05 | 0:10:08
It doesn't take them long to steal everyone's hearts. | 0:10:08 | 0:10:12
It's on my head as well. | 0:10:12 | 0:10:13
But then, some will do anything for a slice of banana. | 0:10:13 | 0:10:17
Hello! | 0:10:20 | 0:10:22
It's on top of the lens! | 0:10:25 | 0:10:27
THEY ALL LAUGH | 0:10:29 | 0:10:31
Ring-tailed lemurs live in the wild, | 0:10:37 | 0:10:40
in the southern regions of Madagascar. | 0:10:40 | 0:10:42
They can live in dry deserts, | 0:10:42 | 0:10:44
up mountains, and in lush rainforests. | 0:10:44 | 0:10:46
And this ability to survive in all kinds of tough places | 0:10:48 | 0:10:51
means that they tend to do well in captivity, | 0:10:51 | 0:10:53
and they are a common sight even in many zoos in the UK. | 0:10:53 | 0:10:57
These captive breeding groups mean that | 0:11:02 | 0:11:05
if anything terrible here to wipe out ring-tailed lemurs | 0:11:05 | 0:11:08
in the wild, like a massive fire or disease, | 0:11:08 | 0:11:10
then there are still captive animals that could one day be reintroduced. | 0:11:10 | 0:11:15
Oh, they're beautiful. | 0:11:16 | 0:11:19
Hello! | 0:11:19 | 0:11:21
But right now, this lot are not worried about how important they | 0:11:21 | 0:11:25
might be, but are more concerned about filling up their stomachs. | 0:11:25 | 0:11:28
As close encounters go, it's pretty special. | 0:11:35 | 0:11:38
But Josef is about to play his trump card. | 0:11:38 | 0:11:41
Not that Raina's holding out much hope. | 0:11:41 | 0:11:43
Either attract it or feed it... I'm not sure which one! | 0:11:43 | 0:11:47
Lemurs don't really come near to humans anyway... | 0:11:50 | 0:11:52
..and trying to wave leaves around is a bit ambitious. | 0:11:56 | 0:12:00
What Raina doesn't know is that Josef has over the years | 0:12:02 | 0:12:05
developed an almost supernatural bond with this band of Indri. | 0:12:05 | 0:12:08
So much so that they now completely trust him, | 0:12:08 | 0:12:11
and he treats them as if they are a part of his family. | 0:12:11 | 0:12:15
Basically, I think Josef has managed to get | 0:12:15 | 0:12:17
one of the lemur down from the tree with a leaf. | 0:12:17 | 0:12:21
And now we're just all having a look. | 0:12:21 | 0:12:24
For some reason, | 0:12:34 | 0:12:36
these peaceful vegetarians just love the leaves Josef has on offer. | 0:12:36 | 0:12:40
-RAINA LAUGHS -Did you see...? | 0:12:59 | 0:13:02
Very few people have ever hand-fed an Indri, | 0:13:05 | 0:13:07
one of the most endangered animals on the planet. | 0:13:07 | 0:13:10
Because, unlike those tourist- friendly captive ring-tailed lemurs, | 0:13:10 | 0:13:14
these Indris are 100% wild animals. | 0:13:14 | 0:13:17
It's a really special moment for us all. | 0:13:24 | 0:13:26
And the effect they have is magical. | 0:13:35 | 0:13:37
But there's a sad twist to the Indri story. | 0:13:40 | 0:13:43
There are no captive populations of Indri anywhere in the world. | 0:13:45 | 0:13:49
No safety net if something terrible happens to them in the wild. | 0:13:50 | 0:13:54
These forests are the last home for these animals, | 0:13:54 | 0:13:56
and if they get chopped down, the Indri will disappear for ever. | 0:13:56 | 0:14:00
Thankfully, these wonderful creatures are now protected, | 0:14:07 | 0:14:10
and the population is growing. | 0:14:10 | 0:14:12
Just see its small hands... They're little scooping hands. | 0:14:18 | 0:14:22
An Indri family group need an area of forest | 0:14:25 | 0:14:28
the size of 40 football pitches. It's a lot of forest. | 0:14:28 | 0:14:31
So without new forest habitat being replanted, | 0:14:35 | 0:14:37
they could outgrow the forests that are left. | 0:14:37 | 0:14:40
The area that our teams are planting is actually connected | 0:14:42 | 0:14:45
to Indri territory, and that's what makes our team's final challenge | 0:14:45 | 0:14:49
so vitally important. | 0:14:49 | 0:14:51
Without their efforts, the baby Indri they've spotted | 0:14:51 | 0:14:54
might never be able to grow up and have a family of its own. | 0:14:54 | 0:14:57
Now I'll appreciate how... | 0:15:02 | 0:15:05
-the reason why we're doing the trees. -Yeah. | 0:15:05 | 0:15:10
-I need to plant trees now. -Yeah. -I feel the urge to. | 0:15:11 | 0:15:16
We should head back soon, to get planting. | 0:15:16 | 0:15:20
The whole team have had an encounter they won't forget. | 0:15:20 | 0:15:23
Any previous bad feeling is put behind them. | 0:15:23 | 0:15:25
I feel really bad now. | 0:15:25 | 0:15:28
Sorry. I apologise for anything that I might have said. | 0:15:28 | 0:15:31
Merci. Merci beaucoup. | 0:15:31 | 0:15:34
THEY TALK TO JOSEF IN DIALECT | 0:15:34 | 0:15:37
This morning we went off to a bad start, but then it was just amazing, | 0:15:39 | 0:15:45
it was just so cool. | 0:15:45 | 0:15:46
'Oh, man, everyone was so...' | 0:15:46 | 0:15:50
You know, everyone thought, it's hard work anyway, | 0:15:50 | 0:15:52
we don't need something extra on top of it... | 0:15:52 | 0:15:56
We got to go deep into the forest with Josef | 0:15:56 | 0:16:00
and we got to see Indri. | 0:16:00 | 0:16:02
Which is so cool. | 0:16:02 | 0:16:03
We had a treat in store for us. And what a treat it was. | 0:16:03 | 0:16:08
Oh, they're beautiful... | 0:16:08 | 0:16:11
We went to see the lemurs, and that was just amazing | 0:16:11 | 0:16:13
when they were crawling all over us. | 0:16:13 | 0:16:15
We were the third people Josef has ever let feed them - | 0:16:15 | 0:16:18
himself, David Attenborough and then us. Wow. | 0:16:18 | 0:16:23
It's like, proper important | 0:16:23 | 0:16:24
cos the trees that we're planting, | 0:16:24 | 0:16:26
hopefully in 20-odd years when they're grown fully, | 0:16:26 | 0:16:29
that will be a great habitat. | 0:16:29 | 0:16:30
'Just think, in 20 years' time, | 0:16:30 | 0:16:32
'those lemurs could be bouncing off the trees, and...' | 0:16:32 | 0:16:36
it's just a warm sensation just thinking about it now, | 0:16:36 | 0:16:39
it feels really like a bubbly kind of warm sensation, | 0:16:39 | 0:16:41
that I just want to explode! | 0:16:41 | 0:16:43
'It isn't just about us, so we shouldn't be moaning | 0:16:43 | 0:16:45
'and like, whingeing,' | 0:16:45 | 0:16:48
we should actually think, well, what's the point of | 0:16:48 | 0:16:51
planting these trees? It's not for us, it's for the lemurs. | 0:16:51 | 0:16:55
That was just like, amazing, and it was proper motivational. | 0:16:55 | 0:16:59
Now we know how important it is, and we're doing it for the Indri. | 0:16:59 | 0:17:02
It's their final morning. | 0:17:23 | 0:17:24
With the whole site now needing completion, | 0:17:24 | 0:17:26
the team are fired up to complete their challenge. | 0:17:26 | 0:17:29
Now they realise - even Gwen - that this is not a competition. | 0:17:29 | 0:17:33
Getting it right for the lemurs is what really matters. | 0:17:33 | 0:17:37
But they still have an awful lot to do. And time is running out. | 0:17:42 | 0:17:46
They first have to fix all the badly planted trees | 0:17:48 | 0:17:51
before getting on with any new trees. | 0:17:51 | 0:17:53
The day is the hottest so far | 0:18:15 | 0:18:16
and Eilidh is giving it everything. | 0:18:16 | 0:18:19
Eilidh's working really hard cos I think she's trying to make | 0:18:19 | 0:18:22
up for yesterday when she was feeling a bit sick. | 0:18:22 | 0:18:25
I am proud of her, she's getting stuck in and helping us all. | 0:18:25 | 0:18:28
Eilidh is getting back involved which is good. | 0:18:28 | 0:18:31
Everyone's working hard, getting along. | 0:18:31 | 0:18:34
The first day, I let the team down. | 0:18:34 | 0:18:37
I let the Indri down, let the forest down. So, today, I am going to work. | 0:18:37 | 0:18:42
I'm going to try and work twice as hard. | 0:18:42 | 0:18:44
As soon as we saw the lemurs and saw what we're working for, | 0:18:44 | 0:18:47
it was quite good. | 0:18:47 | 0:18:49
So I hope we will get along well and do these trees properly. | 0:18:49 | 0:18:53
-There's loads of them. -Yeah, I know. | 0:19:01 | 0:19:05
It takes forever. There's loads we keep on finding. | 0:19:05 | 0:19:08
We've gone from being like, really positive | 0:19:21 | 0:19:24
at the start of the day and now we're trying to like, | 0:19:24 | 0:19:27
get it done now and getting a little bit tired. | 0:19:27 | 0:19:29
It has gone a bit more negative | 0:19:29 | 0:19:31
cos we have been finding new ones that keep on having to be done. | 0:19:31 | 0:19:36
Yeah, I definitely feel we could do with a bit help. | 0:19:38 | 0:19:41
And that is exactly what's on its way. | 0:19:46 | 0:19:49
-Do you reckon they came from church? -Is it Sunday? | 0:19:51 | 0:19:55
That's what the bells were, I reckon. | 0:19:56 | 0:19:58
I can see loads of people just randomly walking past. | 0:20:03 | 0:20:05
They're all walking in a straight line. | 0:20:05 | 0:20:09
Who are they? | 0:20:11 | 0:20:13
Elsie and Yusuf have arranged | 0:20:15 | 0:20:16
for similar local kids to come and lend an hand. | 0:20:16 | 0:20:20
Raina, Eilidh, Charlie and Yoran. | 0:20:20 | 0:20:22
We were saying earlier we could do with help | 0:20:31 | 0:20:33
and then out come 47 Madagascar kids. | 0:20:33 | 0:20:36
And their timing is perfect. | 0:20:42 | 0:20:43
Me and Yoran would've been here forever trying to do all of these. | 0:20:47 | 0:20:51
We've got about five kids here, practically done it. | 0:20:51 | 0:20:54
That's good. | 0:21:14 | 0:21:15
Nice one. High five! | 0:21:18 | 0:21:20
LAUGHTER Oh, we've made friends! | 0:21:20 | 0:21:23
The question is, though, even with all this help is it too late? | 0:21:34 | 0:21:38
Will their combined efforts manage to finish this | 0:21:38 | 0:21:41
forest for the future generations of Indri to live in? | 0:21:41 | 0:21:44
With an hour to spare, the two flags finally come to together | 0:21:54 | 0:21:58
and the Deadly Mission Madagascar Forest is complete. | 0:21:58 | 0:22:01
CHEERING | 0:22:01 | 0:22:05
High five, Yoran. Put it there! | 0:22:05 | 0:22:08
Nice one. | 0:22:09 | 0:22:10
As a team we've all planted 500 trees and helped each other. | 0:22:12 | 0:22:15
We came together as one big family. | 0:22:15 | 0:22:17
Even though it started as a competition, we all ended together. | 0:22:17 | 0:22:21
LAUGHTER | 0:22:21 | 0:22:24
In the not too distant future, this patch of damaged and destroyed | 0:22:24 | 0:22:27
forest could be filled with the sound of a family of Indri. | 0:22:27 | 0:22:31
There's only one thing left for our happy band of tired yet | 0:22:53 | 0:22:56
satisfied adventurers - and that's to eat | 0:22:56 | 0:22:59
and party with all the local kids that came to give them a hand. | 0:22:59 | 0:23:03
And to reflect on the past few days' exertions. | 0:23:05 | 0:23:08
It's really amazing and I loved every minute of it. | 0:23:08 | 0:23:12
It has to be one of our best days, yeah. | 0:23:12 | 0:23:15
I've learned so much and gained so much from this experience, | 0:23:18 | 0:23:21
it's just unreal. It's a perfect ending to the whole adventure. | 0:23:21 | 0:23:25
We thought it's going to be brilliant once it's done but looking | 0:23:25 | 0:23:29
at it, it's like you know, this is a huge thing we've got to do. | 0:23:29 | 0:23:32
Really rich. | 0:23:35 | 0:23:37
MUSIC: "One Thing" by One Direction | 0:23:37 | 0:23:41
I'm really happy that I got chosen to be on this trip cos it's the best | 0:24:00 | 0:24:04
thing that's ever happened to me. | 0:24:04 | 0:24:06
All of us British kids and the Madagascar kids united as one to | 0:24:09 | 0:24:12
help the forest, and that's what we're here for, | 0:24:12 | 0:24:16
so it made me really happy. | 0:24:16 | 0:24:17
We've finished. We've planted those trees, | 0:24:22 | 0:24:25
we've left a little bit of Britain in Madagascar. | 0:24:25 | 0:24:28
We're finishing with a bang. | 0:24:31 | 0:24:34

Finally, their adventure is at an end. | 0:25:02 | 0:25:05
But what an adventure. | 0:25:05 | 0:25:07
It's been 30 days since they last saw their homes and families. | 0:25:13 | 0:25:16
In that time they've travelled hundreds of miles across this | 0:25:22 | 0:25:26
vast country, from north to south, from east to west. | 0:25:26 | 0:25:31
I never imagined myself being here, | 0:25:31 | 0:25:33
getting to do the things that I have. I feel so lucky right now. | 0:25:33 | 0:25:37
I've honestly had the time of my life. It's been amazing. | 0:25:40 | 0:25:43
Once in a lifetime definitely. | 0:25:43 | 0:25:47
They've seen the devastation and they've witnessed the hope. | 0:25:47 | 0:25:50
I've never stopped laughing. | 0:25:55 | 0:25:58
LAUGHTER | 0:25:58 | 0:26:00
SHE SQUEALS | 0:26:00 | 0:26:01
I was like, "Wow!" She was like, "Aaaaaah!" | 0:26:01 | 0:26:04
Fun, adventurous... It's been so amazing everywhere. | 0:26:04 | 0:26:09
GROWLING | 0:26:09 | 0:26:11
Did that really just happen? | 0:26:11 | 0:26:12
That did not just happen! | 0:26:12 | 0:26:14
They've seen the issues facing the rare | 0:26:18 | 0:26:20
and wonderful wildlife of Madagascar... | 0:26:20 | 0:26:22
I think conservation is a lot more complicated | 0:26:22 | 0:26:25
than when I first come here. | 0:26:25 | 0:26:27
There's a lot more effort, time, | 0:26:27 | 0:26:29
you know, awareness that needs to be raised to conserve the wildlife. | 0:26:29 | 0:26:33
..Met the people that are making a difference | 0:26:33 | 0:26:35
and done what they can to help... | 0:26:35 | 0:26:37
When you look back and get to see the different things you done | 0:26:37 | 0:26:40
and all the people you've met, it's just been so special. Oh wow! | 0:26:40 | 0:26:45
-That's cool. -I feel so stupid! | 0:26:45 | 0:26:49
And they've bonded with the people that call this magical island home. | 0:26:52 | 0:26:56
Everyone that I've met on this amazing, breath-taking journey, | 0:26:56 | 0:26:59
everyone has inspired me. | 0:26:59 | 0:27:01
Without the people we wouldn't've been able to do | 0:27:03 | 0:27:06
any of the activities that we got to. I'm really grateful to them. | 0:27:06 | 0:27:09
They're such amazing kind people too. | 0:27:09 | 0:27:12
It's like home to me. The people there felt like family. | 0:27:12 | 0:27:16
As well as leaving behind their very own legacy. | 0:27:16 | 0:27:19
We've left our mark and I think it's something we should all be proud of. | 0:27:22 | 0:27:26
If you want to help the animals of Madagascar, | 0:27:29 | 0:27:31
explore for yourself what you can do to make a difference. | 0:27:31 | 0:27:35
It's not just about Madagascar, it's about the entire world. | 0:27:38 | 0:27:42
I want everyone to know just how special this country is. | 0:27:42 | 0:27:45
ALL: Oh, Madagascar! | 0:27:47 | 0:27:49
-Is everything all right? -Yeah. | 0:27:53 | 0:27:55
No competition! | 0:27:57 | 0:27:58
-Moving shot, moving shot! -Sorry, guys! | 0:27:59 | 0:28:01
-Tell me how you feel about using the camera? -Yeah. Really chuffed, yeah. | 0:28:02 | 0:28:08
-How are you feeling about getting to use that? -I'm feeling good. | 0:28:08 | 0:28:12 |
