And these children are going for the very first time.

The children go to two very different schools.

One is in a big city, and the other in a country village near the sea.

Today we're going to the school in the big city. Are you ready?

There's the bell.

When the bell rings, school begins.

That's Miss Mills, the teacher.

She's ready to help the children settle in.

She'll make sure Lucy and the other children know what to do.

I think she'll have lots of fun things for the children to do

-on their first day.

And the pegs aren't just for coats.

Olivia's made a ladybird. Isn't it lovely?

Oh, now it's time for the mummies and daddies to leave.

I'm making some trousers.

I'm going to ring a special bell.

And when you hear the special bell,

I want you all to stop what you're doing

and show me two empty hands. Are you all able to do that?
