I want you to do a live interview.
SIREN WAILS IN DISTANCE
The next time you send down an elevator without telling me,
I will send it back up with a dead body in it.
Are you ready for another interview?
Yes, I'll be ready.
Adel Rasul, 38, karate teacher.
-No-no, wait, wait, wait!
-ALPHA OVER RADIO:
-We've released a hostage.
-DOOR BANGS NEARBY CHARLIE:
-What happened last night?
-You killed one of our hostages
that's worth a quarter of a million euros alive.
Why didn't you want me to shoot him?
He was trouble from day one. He would keep making trouble.
BRAVO: He had to die, you know that.
When a hostage is not shot immediately
for refusing to cooperate...
..you don't kill the guy after that...
..they'll all know you have no balls.
I would have pulled the trigger,
but you don't shoot anyone off the camera.
You just fucked up a perfect opportunity
to scare the shit out of everybody
and raise the stakes.
-I think we scared them, all right.
-We've been talking.
-About the exit plan.
-What about it?
We are worried it might be shaky.
You also said the interviews would be fine.
I can't prevent one guy from losing it.
The exit plan is fine.
There are 16 unfinished stations,
we can get to them through the tunnels.
Each station is protected by a couple of street cops.
We take them out, we're out in the open, we're fine.
So, is the exit plan.
Now get out.
HELICOPTER WHIRS OVERHEAD
Hi, Sam. It's me again.
I know, Sam.
And you know I wouldn't ask you if this wasn't important.
Because I can't.
It has to go below the radar.
I need you to run a name.
Yes, we have information that he was killed in a drone strike,
but I have reason to believe that that information might be false.
I need you to see if this file on him shows something else.
FAINT SIREN WAILS
I know, Sam, but it's also very important.
Thanks, man, I won't forget.
Just keep it between me and you.
Time for a chat?
-Are you kidding me?
-Why would I be kidding?
But you killed someone.
We had no choice. Are you ready or not?
-RECORDING PLAYS NAJA:
-But you killed someone.
I... I really can't do this.
-I have a new interview for you tonight.
Nobody's going to want to turn it on.
Believe me, everybody will be watching.
-The police is going to cut it off.
-No, they won't.
OK, this is how it's going to work.
If I'm going to make any more interviews,
you can't kill any more hostages.
That's entirely up to the police. I'll call you 6pm.
SIREN WAILS ABOVE SURFACE
LOUD SIREN WAILS
HE GROANS IN PAIN
-Hey! Hey! We need some help!
-LEON CONTINUES TO COUGH
-Hey! Hey, we need help!
DENISE: Sh, sh, sh!
LEON PANTS HEAVILY
BRAVO: Get back, get back! Hey!
DOORS SLAM YELLS: Get back!
-Diabetes - we need some insulin...
A hostage is sick, we need some medicine.
-DOOR BANGS LOUDLY
We need insulin.
So, a diabetes patient?
How's his condition?
If we get the insulin, he'll be fine.
Leon is not a young man, he needs to get to a hospital.
-Not going to happen.
-It will be easier for you.
You do see that, don't you?
It's easier for everybody if you let him go.
Or if he dies...
-The choice is yours.
-It's your choice as well.
And since yesterday, the fundraising has almost stopped.
You see my point?
The public won't like that you're not letting a sick man get medical care.
-On the other hand, if you...
-You can't have him.
But you can send a medic down to treat him.
That can work.
Can I trust that he'll be safe?
You will have to.
It's the only offer you're going to get.
One medic who gets 30 minutes, that's it.
That's good. Anything else you want?
I'll call you back.
ALPHA HANGS UP, SHE SIGHS
-Are you ready?
-What do you mean? I thought we were going to do the interview tonight.
I'm not talking about the interview.
-I've got something else for you.
We're allowing a medic to come down and treat a hostage in one hour.
A diabetes patient.
That's your story.
Keep your eye on the screen - this might help your fundraising.
HELICOPTER WHIRS OVERHEAD
-Are you ready?
-Yes, I can confirm that a medic will be ready in 30 minutes.
-I'm sending up the elevator.
-ALPHA HANGS UP
-Come on, move! Everybody move.
-Hey, hey, what's going on?
Shut up! You...
Help me. Take him.
Take his arms. Come on!
Hey, hey, hey! METAL CLANGS
Get back! Get the fuck back!
Come out with your hands above your head.
MEDIC BREATHES HEAVILY
Turn around, face front.
HE SHOUTS, HOSTAGES SCREAM
Bravo, cover me!
HE GASPS FOR AIR
NAJA EXHALES DEEPLY
SIRENS WAIL, HELICOPTER WHIRS OVERHEAD
-Go, go, go, go, go, go.
You, the nurse. And, you - come with me.
We can't move him.
-Well, help him.
Stop the bleeding, do something.
-Come on! Do something!
SHE CONTROLS HER BREATHING
HE PANTS RAPIDLY
Can I have the medical kit?
HE EXHALES DEEPLY
MEDICAL BAG ZIP UNFASTENS
MARIE BREATHES HEAVILY
SHE TAPS SILAS' ARM TO BRING VEIN TO SURFACE
-Nobody's happy about this.
No more negotiation. From now on, you do as I tell you.
And what are you telling me?
-A young guy was shot by your guys.
-His name is Silas.
-What's his condition?
Shot in the stomach.
-And he's losing a lot of blood.
-He needs to get up.
Unfortunately, you're not in a very good position to ask favours.
You have to trust me, I was not involved in this.
I... I didn't know it was going to happen.
I can send a medic team right away.
I'm not crazy about your medic teams.
It's bad for everybody if he dies.
This is what's going to happen.
You'll send the elevator down - EMPTY.
We'll put him in. No medic team, no games.
And what about Leon?
ALPHA HANGS UP
ELEVATOR DOORS OPEN
Come on, move it!
LEON CONTROLS BREATHING
Are you feeling better?
What's going on?
Good. You will be interviewed tonight by the journalist.
SIRENS WAIL IN DISTANCE
HE GROANS LOUDLY
'Ahmad, what the fuck?!'
HE BREATHES HEAVILY
'Ahmad, let go of me! Fucking now!'
SIREN WAILS IN DISTANCE
DOOR BANGS SHUT
HEART MONITOR BEEPS
Are you ready to be famous?
Look at me!
Relax. Just answer the questions and look into the camera.
LEON AGREES NERVOUSLY
-We are ready. Are you?
I'm sorry, I-I-I... I can't do this.
Is there a problem?
-Uh... Uh, I can't go through with this, I'm sorry.
NAJA HANGS UP
Philip takes full responsibility for the death of a hostage and chases up his contact for assurances that his fears of recognising the main hostage-taker are unfounded. As political pressure to end the stand-off mounts, one of the hostages is taken ill and, not willing to free him, his captors agree for a medic to attend. Daniel tells Philip that this is their chance.
In Danish and English with English subtitles.
