ANSWERPHONE: Your call has been forwarded to the voicemail service.

0:00:470:00:51

'Hi, you've reached Roxy. Sorry I can't take your call at the moment,

0:00:510:00:55

'but if I like you, or if your fit, leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.'

0:00:550:01:00

Roxy, it's me again.

0:01:000:01:04

Listen, you call me back or I'm gonna come up there.

0:01:040:01:06

I won't take no for an answer.

0:01:060:01:08

If you don't want to speak to her, turn it off.

0:01:160:01:18

It might be someone important.

0:01:180:01:21

There. If it's someone important I'll tell you.

0:01:210:01:24

Right, stop biting your nails and come on.

0:01:280:01:31

-Where we going?

-Come on. The Vic. See my son.

0:01:310:01:35

Look, I just want to speak to Rox.

0:01:370:01:40

She's made it clear where she stands.

0:01:400:01:42

-Then I'll change her mind.

-No, no. You're gonna stay here till we leave for court.

0:01:420:01:46

You're gonna clear your head and compose yourself.

0:01:460:01:49

We do what the brief says, there's a good chance of you staying out of prison.

0:01:490:01:54

And then, tomorrow...

0:01:540:01:56

This time tomorrow, you and me, we're gonna be in Mexico.

0:01:560:02:00

Hotel on the beach for three weeks.

0:02:000:02:02

And after that, we'll go where you like, do what you want to do.

0:02:020:02:06

Together.

0:02:060:02:07

Kat, sweetheart, she's not gonna come back.

0:02:200:02:22

You can be sure of that, yeah?

0:02:220:02:24

She's got to be in court.

0:02:240:02:26

Maybe that's enough for her to try and grab Tommy.

0:02:260:02:28

Darling, we don't know it was her, all right?

0:02:280:02:31

Alfie, she left her locket in the pram. How much more proof do you need?

0:02:310:02:35

All right?

0:02:350:02:36

What's she doing here?

0:02:360:02:38

Don't worry, she's not a spy.

0:02:380:02:40

I'm gonna get changed.

0:02:400:02:42

Why don't you let me take him out for a bit, give you a bit of time off.

0:02:440:02:47

No, no, it's all right, it's all right.

0:02:470:02:50

Come on.

0:02:500:02:51

Look... Listen, I'm gonna go back to the flat, OK?

0:02:510:02:55

-Why?

-Because it's not right. I shouldn't be here, Michael.

0:02:550:02:58

Why don't you just go to the salon for an hour? Get your nails done,

0:02:580:03:03

-relax, have some time to yourself.

-Is that...

0:03:030:03:05

Is that what you think of me? An hour in the salon and everything's right as rain.

0:03:050:03:09

Have you seen the state of them?

0:03:090:03:11

-Yes.

-Yeah, look they're mullered.

-I bite 'em when I'm sad - I always have.

0:03:110:03:15

Precisely my point. Go to the salon

0:03:150:03:17

where you're not thinking about Ronnie all the time.

0:03:170:03:19

Have a bit of you time.

0:03:190:03:21

Roxy time. I'll come and get you, and I'll take you somewhere nice.

0:03:210:03:25

That's my girl.

0:03:250:03:27

-OK.

-That's my girl.

0:03:270:03:30

-All right, bye.

-Bye.

0:03:320:03:34

-I'm just going to change the barrel mate.

-Yeah, go on mate.

0:03:360:03:40

Ooh, afternoon. I'm Tyler Moon.

0:03:420:03:44

What time do you finish?

0:03:480:03:49

Half an hour,

0:03:490:03:51

so if you don't mind Lauren, I need to get on.

0:03:510:03:55

What are you doing later?

0:03:550:03:56

-Sleeping.

-What, in the middle of the day?

0:03:560:04:00

Yeah, I like sleeping, I like it a lot.

0:04:000:04:03

Now go away.

0:04:030:04:05

He's a bit thick, love.

0:04:050:04:07

You're interested, just tell him.

0:04:070:04:10

Yes, thank you.

0:04:100:04:11

Come on, let's go.

0:04:110:04:14

Babe, it's me. We're on.

0:04:310:04:32

20A Leopold Street.

0:04:320:04:33

'Yeah, all right then...'

0:04:330:04:37

All right Poppy.

0:04:370:04:38

Don't touch anything then, I'll... I'll be right over, OK.

0:04:400:04:47

SINGING FROM UPSTAIRS # I'm your private dancer

0:04:550:04:59

# A dancer for money

0:04:590:05:01

# And any old music will do

0:05:010:05:04

# I'm your private dancer

0:05:040:05:06

# A dancer for money

0:05:060:05:08

# Do what you want me to do

0:05:080:05:12

# I'm your private dancer

0:05:120:05:14

# A dancer for money

0:05:140:05:16

# And any old music will do... #

0:05:160:05:19

-Where's the big man?

-He's gone out.

0:05:530:05:55

Out?! What now?

0:05:550:05:57

-Only got a couple of hours.

-I know.

0:05:570:06:01

-It's work. He'll be back. You want a coffee?

-No, thanks, no.

0:06:010:06:05

-You OK?

-No, not really.

0:06:050:06:07

Didn't sleep a wink last night. What with the police sniffing round.

0:06:070:06:11

-Are they pressing charges?

-They haven't yet.

0:06:110:06:14

-I don't think they've got enough evidence.

-Lucky Ronnie.

-What's that supposed to mean?

0:06:140:06:19

-I don't care to discuss it.

-Oh, you don't care to discuss it?

0:06:190:06:22

-No, I'm here to find out how we're getting to court.

-Oh, don't do us any favours.

0:06:220:06:26

I'm doing you a massive favour, by standing here dressed to the nines.

0:06:260:06:30

Ronnie needs our support.

0:06:300:06:33

It's important for the judge to see she didn't mean any harm.

0:06:330:06:36

But she did didn't she?

0:06:360:06:40

Don't give me that look. The only reason I'm going is cos you bulldozed us into it.

0:06:400:06:44

Given a choice. I wouldn't be within a mile of that court.

0:06:440:06:47

She lost our baby!

0:06:480:06:51

Yeah, and that is terrible.

0:06:510:06:53

I understand, believe me I understand,

0:06:530:06:55

but she did a bad thing, you know, not once, but twice.

0:06:550:06:59

-Oh, what, you think she broke into the Vic?!

-Yes, and so do you.

0:06:590:07:02

Go on admit it. Deep down you do as well.

0:07:020:07:05

And it's only a matter of time before they prove it.

0:07:050:07:07

You're wrong. Ronnie didn't break into the Vic.

0:07:070:07:10

She had nothing to do with it!

0:07:100:07:12

What you talking about?

0:07:120:07:15

-Yeah, can I help you?

-Funny(!)

0:07:190:07:22

So, what's this place then?

0:07:240:07:27

It's just a mate, he rents them out.

0:07:270:07:30

It just happened to be free.

0:07:300:07:33

-They're nice.

-You know me,

0:07:330:07:36

I'm an incurable romantic.

0:07:360:07:37

Oh, yeah, that's you all over, innit.

0:07:370:07:41

Come on then. I only got an hour.

0:07:410:07:43

Can't we just talk?

0:07:460:07:49

I can talk to Greg.

0:07:490:07:51

Come here.

0:07:510:07:52

You need to talk to Max and Tanya!

0:07:520:07:55

So they can cover it up?

0:07:550:07:56

-Ronnie's getting the blame.

-She's a kid!

0:07:560:07:59

This is between me and Kat. Stay out of it.

0:07:590:08:02

Or I'll call the police, myself.

0:08:020:08:03

Come on.

0:08:030:08:06

Call Max.

0:08:060:08:07

Lovely ta, thank you.

0:08:110:08:14

What do you reckon? All I need is a tie, I'd pass for a stock broker.

0:08:200:08:24

Yeah, it's very nice.

0:08:240:08:26

Is Roxy about?

0:08:260:08:28

No, no she's not been in today.

0:08:280:08:30

Listen, your QC'll sort you out.

0:08:300:08:33

Few hours from now you'll be toasting a result.

0:08:330:08:36

-So you haven't seen her?

-No.

0:08:360:08:39

I'm gonna go and look for Jay, lazy little skank.

0:08:390:08:41

-Make sure he's doing his work.

-Do you mind if I wait around.

0:08:410:08:45

Nah, nah. I'll see you in court.

0:08:450:08:48

BABY CRIES

0:09:010:09:04

Eh, eh, come on.

0:09:040:09:05

MOBILE RINGS

0:09:050:09:08

Why don't you let me have a look? I was always a dab hand at English.

0:09:110:09:15

It's her victim statement. It's personal.

0:09:150:09:17

You not gonna have it read out in court?

0:09:170:09:19

Now, you're gonna tell them the truth, right?

0:09:190:09:23

What are you doing here?!

0:09:280:09:29

It wasn't Ronnie who broke in yesterday - it was Abi.

0:09:290:09:33

-You're pathetic.

-Abi!

0:09:330:09:35

-It's true.

-Is he bullying you into this?

0:09:350:09:38

No, she told me, all right?

0:09:380:09:40

She broke in yesterday.

0:09:400:09:42

Right, I suppose she stole my baby as well?

0:09:420:09:45

Look, Ron didn't do it!

0:09:450:09:47

Well the police said someone had the keys.

0:09:470:09:49

How'd Abi get the keys?

0:09:490:09:51

How'd you get the keys, Abi?

0:09:510:09:54

-I can't...

-Come on, tell her.

0:09:540:09:56

This is Ronnie's life we're talking about.

0:09:560:09:58

-It was Jay. I broke in with Jay and he got 'em off Phil.

-See?

0:10:000:10:06

Well, it don't matter. Ronnie still done what she done.

0:10:060:10:09

-Come on Kat, please!

-I think you should both go.

0:10:090:10:13

-Just think twice about what you say to the police.

-She is thinking twice, Jack.

0:10:130:10:16

She's rewritten her statement to give a true account of what Ronnie did to her.

0:10:160:10:20

-Come on both of you, out. Now!

-I'm sorry.

0:10:200:10:24

I'm gonna prove this.

0:10:240:10:27

Don't worry about him, he's just desperate.

0:10:290:10:32

Maybe you should get off, Michael. Give us a bit of time.

0:10:320:10:35

Yeah, yeah, course.

0:10:350:10:37

He is my son though. And I do want to help out.

0:10:370:10:40

Let me take him out for a bit.

0:10:400:10:42

No, it's fine. We've got the situation under control.

0:10:420:10:46

Kat?

0:10:460:10:47

All this screaming and shouting isn't good for him.

0:10:470:10:50

Maybe he should take him out for a bit.

0:10:500:10:53

I don't want him getting any more upset.

0:10:530:10:56

Come on, eh. I'll take you to the playground.

0:10:560:10:59

It's only a hundred yards away, innit.

0:10:590:11:01

Keep him close, all right? Don't let him out of your sight for a second.

0:11:010:11:06

Yeah, no problem. Shall we go?

0:11:060:11:08

I better get changed. Don't touch this, I haven't finished.

0:11:140:11:17

-So you really want all that read out?

-It's the truth.

0:11:170:11:22

MOBILE RINGS

0:11:310:11:33

SHE COUGHS

0:11:330:11:35

-You got any mints?

-Mmm-hmm.

0:11:350:11:37

RINGING CONTINUES

0:11:370:11:39

I suppose I should go, shouldn't I?

0:11:430:11:45

I got you a present.

0:11:470:11:48

It's a key to this place.

0:11:550:11:58

I paid for three months up front.

0:11:580:12:00

What did you do that for?

0:12:000:12:02

We need somewhere to go, don't we?

0:12:020:12:04

You didn't think you shoulda consulted with me first?

0:12:040:12:07

No, I thought it would be a nice surprise.

0:12:070:12:09

Three months. What's that?

0:12:090:12:11

How many times a week you figuring on?

0:12:110:12:13

Tan, this ain't about sex for me.

0:12:130:12:15

No, that's not what you said an hour ago, is it?

0:12:150:12:18

I love you. You know I love you.

0:12:180:12:21

No keys. No contracts.

0:12:210:12:23

ANSWERPHONE: 'Max Branning. Leave a message.'

0:12:270:12:30

You all right, darling? Oh, come here, what's the matter?

0:12:340:12:39

Shush...

0:12:390:12:41

Did you have a flat like this with Stacey?

0:12:430:12:46

Did you?

0:12:470:12:49

You just want another bit on the side.

0:12:520:12:54

Someone on tap, month after month.

0:12:540:12:56

I love you.

0:12:560:12:58

I've always loved you.

0:12:580:13:01

From the first moment I saw you.

0:13:010:13:03

Tousled and...

0:13:050:13:07

Blonde and flushed from running.

0:13:070:13:10

Do you remember, I fell in love with you at that moment and I ain't never, ever stopped.

0:13:120:13:17

-Maybe once or twice.

-I ain't, ever.

0:13:170:13:20

You tell that to Vanessa, when you proposed?

0:13:200:13:22

So wh-wh-what are we doing?

0:13:260:13:29

This, we're doing this? What do you think?

0:13:290:13:31

We can't keep doing this forever.

0:13:310:13:33

Then... So? One day we'll stop.

0:13:330:13:36

What does that mean, we'll stop? What, we'll just finish.

0:13:370:13:41

Yeah. It's an affair, innit?

0:13:410:13:43

Something starts and then you finish it. A marriage goes on.

0:13:430:13:46

I don't want that. I want more.

0:13:460:13:48

What? What, you want me what...

0:13:480:13:50

Tell Greg it's over, move in with you?

0:13:500:13:53

-Is that what you want?

-Yeah, I do.

0:13:530:13:55

-You want that?

-Yeah.

0:13:550:13:57

If you push me...

0:13:590:14:01

If you push me. I'll choose Greg. I'll choose my life, Max.

0:14:050:14:08

You know, our kids feeling secure and happy.

0:14:080:14:11

And little Oscar, a smile on his face,

0:14:110:14:14

not a bad memory in his head. Max.

0:14:140:14:16

Max, you've got to understand that?

0:14:160:14:20

So what's it gonna be?

0:14:240:14:26

You take the key.

0:14:360:14:38

Take the key, and when you want it to finish. You give it back to me.

0:14:380:14:44

Can I have that mint now?

0:14:480:14:52

TELEVISION ON

0:14:570:14:58

DOOR SLAMS

0:15:000:15:02

Look Phil, I'm really sorry, I'll just get back to...

0:15:040:15:08

# I know you haven't made your mind up yet

0:15:110:15:16

# But I will never do you wrong

0:15:180:15:22

# I've known it from the moment that we met

0:15:250:15:30

# No doubt in my mind where you belong

0:15:300:15:34

# I'd go hungry I'd go black and blue

0:15:360:15:42

# I'd go crawling down the avenue

0:15:420:15:47

# No, there's nothing that I wouldn't do

0:15:500:15:54

# To make you feel my love. #

0:15:560:15:58

Yeah, you'll be all right. You'll be all right, little man.

0:16:150:16:19

You'll be all right. You'll be all right.

0:16:190:16:24

Thought you may need this.

0:16:430:16:45

Oh, cheers. Cheers.

0:16:450:16:49

All right?

0:16:490:16:51

Michael, I'm not really sure I'm in the mood for this.

0:16:510:16:54

Come on, you deserve it.

0:16:540:16:56

BABY CRIES

0:17:320:17:35

Kat, it's Michael. This isn't my fault, but...

0:17:460:17:49

But what? What is it? What's happened?

0:17:490:17:52

BABY CRIES

0:17:560:17:58

Tommy, eh. Shush, shush, shush.

0:17:580:18:02

It's OK. Shush.

0:18:020:18:05

Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry.

0:18:070:18:11

Tommy...

0:18:110:18:13

-CRYING CONTINUES

-I know, I know.

0:18:180:18:21

What's happened? What's happened?

0:18:210:18:24

-Oh, sweetie, I've missed you. I've missed you.

-Have you?

0:18:240:18:29

I've just found him.

0:18:320:18:33

Roxy, she texted me, she told me to come here.

0:18:350:18:38

Roxy's in the salon. Getting her nails done.

0:18:380:18:41

Michael, take him.

0:18:430:18:45

-KAT: Michael?

-Michael, take him back!

0:18:450:18:48

-Michael!

-Kat, sorry... I've let you down.

0:18:480:18:50

She must've been watching the Vic. She's just grabbed him.

0:18:500:18:53

He's lying.

0:18:540:18:55

Ronnie, you don't have to do this.

0:18:560:18:59

Alfie, I just found him here.

0:18:590:19:01

Just give me Tommy yeah,

0:19:010:19:03

and we'll say no more about it.

0:19:030:19:05

He's set me up. He's planned this.

0:19:050:19:08

The baby's crying. Give him back to his mum.

0:19:080:19:11

Give him to me.

0:19:110:19:14

No, I didn't do this.

0:19:140:19:16

Kat, I didn't do this.

0:19:160:19:19

I didn't do this.

0:19:190:19:22

I'm gonna kill you.

0:19:220:19:24

Come on, let's go, let's go.

0:19:240:19:25

She took my baby.

0:19:250:19:28

Oh, yeah, right here in broad daylight, on the day of my sentencing?!

0:19:280:19:31

-Just take Tommy.

-Hold on, what are you doing?

-I'll be a minute.

0:19:310:19:34

-I'm not leaving you on your own.

-I just want to hear what she's got to say.

0:19:340:19:38

One minute.

0:19:380:19:41

Kat. Listen...

0:19:410:19:43

I want you to know, yeah, when the police come,

0:19:450:19:48

when the police come and take you away,

0:19:480:19:50

when they lock you up for ten years for what you've done

0:19:500:19:53

I won't feel a thing,

0:19:530:19:55

not one moment of regret for what you've done,

0:19:550:19:58

that every minute you'll be rotting in prison I'll be laughing.

0:19:580:20:03

I'll be laughing in your face.

0:20:030:20:05

-I didn't do this!

-What, like you didn't do it in the first place?

0:20:050:20:08

Week after week, month after month you watched me suffer,

0:20:080:20:14

stopping for a chat, with my baby in your arms.

0:20:140:20:19

You seem to forget that it happened to me too.

0:20:190:20:22

Kat, my son is dead. My son is still dead.

0:20:220:20:26

I held him in my arms. I haven't been to sleep since.

0:20:260:20:29

I've had all of that snatched away.

0:20:290:20:31

But you had the comfort of my child, you had the comfort of my child in your arms...

0:20:310:20:37

I know...

0:20:370:20:39

Just to take the pain away, just to help you through the night, yeah?

0:20:390:20:43

Kat, I know and I'm sorry. I am so sorry.

0:20:430:20:45

Sorry, sorry, sorry.

0:20:450:20:48

What's it worth?

0:20:480:20:51

Cos it means nothing. It means nothing to me at all.

0:20:510:20:55

My Uncle Harry, he was sorry.

0:20:550:20:57

His sorry is worth as much as yours.

0:20:570:21:01

Your Uncle and my Dad...

0:21:020:21:05

Do you think you're so different from me, Kat?

0:21:050:21:08

I did a terrible thing, a terrible, terrible thing,

0:21:080:21:14

I was grieving, I was in shock,

0:21:140:21:18

all I wanted was my baby back and I've told you I'm sorry, Kat.

0:21:180:21:22

Please can't you find it in your heart to forgive me?

0:21:220:21:26

No. Never.

0:21:260:21:28

After what you've done today, You're lucky you're still breathing.

0:21:300:21:34

I didn't do this!

0:21:360:21:39

You get in here and you're gonna tell him, right?

0:21:450:21:48

-Just get in there and you tell him.

-Look, it was a joke.

0:21:480:21:51

Me and Abi, we was having a laugh, and it went wrong.

0:21:510:21:54

You speak to Phil. It ain't exactly a big deal, is it?

0:21:540:21:57

Ain't a big deal? You tried to set up my wife!

0:21:570:21:59

-What?!

-Get out. Go on, get out!

0:21:590:22:03

I'm, er... I'm off.

0:22:030:22:05

-Do you believe me now?

-It doesn't matter any more, Jack.

0:22:050:22:07

What you talking about?

0:22:070:22:10

-Kat, what happened?

-Where's Tommy?!

-He's upstairs with Tyler.

0:22:110:22:14

Get him out of here.

0:22:140:22:16

What's going on?

0:22:160:22:17

Ronnie tried to grab Tommy in the playground.

0:22:170:22:20

No, no, hang on! There's got to be something wrong.

0:22:200:22:23

No, no. Jack, I saw it, all right mate.

0:22:230:22:25

-The old bill can sort it...

-Don't call the police...

0:22:250:22:28

If you call the police, do you know what will happen?

0:22:280:22:31

-You need to go!

-Come on, Jack.

0:22:310:22:34

-Excuse me?

-I thought you were many things, but not a grass.

0:22:340:22:39

-Did they make you confess?

-No, Uncle Jack...

-Oh, Uncle Jack!

0:22:390:22:42

Uncle Jack's phoning the old bill.

0:22:420:22:45

Well, that's what you get for breaking into someone's property. I'm calling Max.

0:22:450:22:50

-Phone whoever you want! I thought you and me had something.

-We do.

-I ain't interested.

0:22:500:22:54

A grass is a grass. We're finished.

0:22:540:22:57

What?! Jay I didn't even tell 'em about you.

0:22:570:23:00

They knew someone had the keys.

0:23:000:23:02

They just guessed!

0:23:020:23:04

You let me down. You don't even put out, so what's the point?

0:23:040:23:08

Jay! Jay!

0:23:080:23:10

Abi!

0:23:100:23:13

Get off me!

0:23:140:23:17

Ron, Ronnie, tell me this ain't true?

0:23:170:23:20

Jack! He set me up, Jack.

0:23:200:23:25

-What you talking about?

-You! You!

-She's a nutter.

-You set me up!

0:23:250:23:29

He's poisoned Roxy against me, and now he's done it to Kat.

0:23:290:23:32

Why? Because I turned you down.

0:23:320:23:35

I got too close... I got too close and you didn't like...

0:23:350:23:38

She's poison, Jack. Bail now while you can.

0:23:380:23:40

-You speak a word to the police.

-She's the problem.

-Shut up!

-Not me!

0:23:400:23:45

I'll give Roxy your best, yeah?

0:23:450:23:48

What you looking at?

0:23:510:23:53

Oh, Ryan. Perfect timing.

0:23:570:24:01

You fancy putting some moisturiser on my back?

0:24:010:24:04

No, thanks.

0:24:040:24:05

Well, forget about the moisturising. How about a soak?

0:24:080:24:11

Kim, do you ever stop?

0:24:110:24:13

No. I am like this 24 hours a day.

0:24:130:24:16

-In fact, I'm like the terminator bloke.

-Yeah?

0:24:160:24:19

You know, I set my sights.

0:24:190:24:21

I don't give up and no man can resist.

0:24:210:24:25

Not even you, Ryan!

0:24:250:24:27

Look, I'll deal with Michael.

0:24:370:24:40

But right now it's you that I care about.

0:24:400:24:42

Excuse me, excuse me!

0:24:420:24:46

Do you... Do you think I could've done that?

0:24:460:24:50

Yeah, you coulda broke in yesterday but you didn't, all right.

0:24:500:24:53

You might have taken Tommy, you could have taken Tommy but I don't care.

0:24:530:24:57

Because that's you, Ron. And I love you whatever you done, whatever you do, I love you.

0:24:570:25:02

And that's all that counts. Do you understand?

0:25:020:25:05

They're over there calling the police.

0:25:050:25:07

This isn't going to be psychiatric care any more.

0:25:070:25:10

It's gonna be prison, all right. And a lot of it. Do you understand?

0:25:100:25:15

-I need to see Roxy.

-No. We're gonna do a runner.

-What?

0:25:150:25:18

-We're gonna run. Come on.

-No, Jack!

0:25:180:25:20

Ronnie, I'm not messing about.

0:25:200:25:22

We need to pack bags.

0:25:220:25:24

Whatever we can carry, money, passports, clothes.

0:25:240:25:27

We need to get to that airport, and get on that flight to Mexico.

0:25:270:25:30

What about Roxy?

0:25:300:25:32

Yeah, well she don't give a damn, does she?

0:25:320:25:34

-Jack, I can't just go.

-Yes, you can.

0:25:340:25:37

I've got to say goodbye, Jack.

0:25:370:25:40

At least. I've got to say goodbye to Roxy.

0:25:400:25:43

Yeah well, you say goodbye to her, she'll call the police.

0:25:430:25:46

-You can't.

-Listen, I've got to see her, OK?

0:25:460:25:48

And I will just... I'll say goodbye,

0:25:480:25:51

I'll say goodbye, like I know I'm going to prison. Like that.

0:25:510:25:55

-We haven't got time.

-That will be OK, Jack.

-We haven't got time.

-Listen to me,

0:25:550:26:00

I've got to say goodbye OK? You have to let me say goodbye.

0:26:000:26:04

Ronnie, oi!

0:26:040:26:07

Now, you've got ten minutes. Do you understand me?

0:26:070:26:10

I'm gonna be outside in the car. Ten minutes?

0:26:100:26:13

-Why are you being such a prat?

-Goodbye, Lauren.

0:26:380:26:40

Fine, I'm not that interested.

0:26:400:26:42

Truth be known, I just felt sorry for you.

0:26:420:26:44

What's going on Lauren? We got to go to court.

0:27:020:27:04

-I ain't going.

-What do you mean?

0:27:040:27:06

I just can't.

0:27:060:27:07

What do you mean you can't?

0:27:070:27:11

Lauren?

0:27:110:27:12

-Hiya.

-Roxy...

0:27:140:27:18

Ronnie, go away.

0:27:180:27:20

I've got to talk to you.

0:27:200:27:22

Do you know what, we said all we had to say yesterday. Thank you.

0:27:220:27:26

Listen to me, listen to me, I've got to be in court in less than an hour.

0:27:260:27:29

This is our last chance to speak to each other.

0:27:290:27:32

What do you want me to do?

0:27:320:27:33

Do you want me to shed a tear?

0:27:330:27:35

You want me hug you, and tell you I love you.

0:27:350:27:38

-No, not at all.

-No. Goodbye Ronnie.

0:27:380:27:42

Roxy...

0:27:420:27:43

Roxy!

0:27:430:27:45

Is my Mum about?

0:27:480:27:50

I just don't want to get him in trouble.

0:27:510:27:54

You're the innocent one.

0:27:540:27:56

-No, it weren't even like that.

-I can't do this now.

0:27:560:28:00

I gotta go to court.

0:28:000:28:01

I'll sort it all out tomorrow. Be like nothing ever happened, OK?

0:28:010:28:06

I'll stay here look after her.

0:28:060:28:07

Thank you. You're the best.

0:28:070:28:09

-Roxy!

-Get off of me.

0:28:170:28:18

I am not your little pet any more, OK?

0:28:180:28:21

I'm not that little sister you can just boss around and shove because you didn't get your way.

0:28:210:28:26

I'm a grown woman and I've got my own life.

0:28:260:28:29

With Michael?

0:28:290:28:30

-Do you think he loves you? Do you think you can trust him?

-Michael loves me and I love him.

0:28:300:28:34

-And you're jealous.

-Listen to me, listen to me, I'm going.

0:28:340:28:37

-Do you hear me, I'm going.

-So you said.

0:28:370:28:42

I mean, I'm running, Roxy, OK.

0:28:420:28:44

Me and Jack. We're gonna run, before the court case.

0:28:440:28:48

-Why you telling me this?

-Because I thought you should know.

0:28:480:28:52

And what if I phone the police, and tell them what you're doing?

0:28:520:28:55

That's your choice, Roxy. I want you to be happy.

0:28:550:28:58

I don't want to control you, I love you, I love you.

0:28:580:29:01

You are the thing I love best in the whole world.

0:29:010:29:04

Oh, good, good. Well, don't forget to tell Jack, yeah.

0:29:040:29:07

-He'll be well pleased.

-You're my sister.

0:29:070:29:09

You're everything to me. You're my baby sister.

0:29:090:29:11

We've always done everything together.

0:29:110:29:14

Why can't we do that now?

0:29:140:29:16

Because you have gone too far.

0:29:160:29:18

-I want to pay for what I did.

-By running away? Do you know something Ronnie?

0:29:180:29:24

For all your talk, you never... you never do the right thing.

0:29:240:29:29

You are a coward.

0:29:290:29:31

I didn't want to run away, OK? Michael has forced my hand.

0:29:310:29:34

-You don't give up, do you?

-Listen to me,

0:29:340:29:36

-Roxy, listen to me.

-Get off...

0:29:360:29:39

I did not break into the Vic.

0:29:390:29:42

You're still doing it.

0:29:440:29:45

-You are still lying to me.

-He took my locket.

0:29:450:29:47

He stole my locket and he planted it.

0:29:470:29:49

-He got me to meet him and left Tommy there.

-What?!

0:29:490:29:52

Then Kat turns up, I've got the baby, they've called the police. He's sick.

0:29:520:29:56

No, Ronnie, no, you...

0:29:560:29:58

you are sick, all right.

0:29:580:30:00

You're making up horrible lies, to turn me against him.

0:30:000:30:04

He kissed me.

0:30:040:30:05

On the night of Tanya's hen party, he tried to kiss me.

0:30:050:30:08

Then on Monday he tried again.

0:30:080:30:10

-Oh, on Monday?! You're such a liar.

-It's true. He is no good for you.

0:30:100:30:15

He's gonna hurt you. He's gonna really hurt you.

0:30:150:30:17

He loves me. He told me.

0:30:170:30:20

Listen to me, he texted me on your phone to try to get me to meet him at the playground.

0:30:200:30:25

-OK. OK, what? What this phone in my pocket?

-Yeah.

0:30:250:30:30

Let's have a look, shall we?

0:30:300:30:32

Let's have a look. Oh, look, look no texts, no texts to you, Ronnie.

0:30:320:30:36

Roxy, look at this.

0:30:360:30:38

Look... look at that.

0:30:380:30:40

Look at that. Did you send that?

0:30:400:30:42

Did you? No, you didn't.

0:30:420:30:44

That was him. That is what he's about. He is twisted!

0:30:440:30:47

No, you are twisted, all right...

0:30:470:30:50

You're just like Dad.

0:30:500:30:52

Open your eyes, Roxy.

0:30:540:30:57

He is just like Dad.

0:30:570:30:59

I am the one who loves you.

0:30:590:31:01

Please believe me. I swear it.

0:31:010:31:04

I swear it to you, on Danielle's grave.

0:31:040:31:07

Ronnie, please just go, OK. Just go.

0:31:070:31:09

Wherever it is you're running to,

0:31:090:31:12

just run away, OK, put all of this behind you.

0:31:120:31:16

I never, never want to see you again.

0:31:160:31:20

OK. Just go.

0:31:200:31:22

Go!

0:31:250:31:27

Greg?

0:31:420:31:43

Hello?

0:31:450:31:46

Oh, hello, love. I thought you were going to court.

0:32:190:32:23

I went to the salon. I was looking for you.

0:32:240:32:26

Oh, yeah, I had to do a bit of shopping.

0:32:260:32:29

What's wrong?

0:32:290:32:31

Nothing.

0:32:320:32:34

There's obviously something up, darling. Why don't you tell me what's wrong?

0:32:340:32:38

What's this?

0:32:440:32:47

That's a...that's a key for the salon. I've had to get the locks changed.

0:32:480:32:53

Dad has the exact same key.

0:32:550:32:57

Eh? What are you talking about?

0:32:570:32:59

Dad, just now. I saw him. He has the exact same key.

0:32:590:33:03

He can't have, can he? You must have got it wrong. Well, they all look all the same, keys.

0:33:050:33:10

-The amount of times I get my keys mixed up, honestly.

-No, they both have that on it.

0:33:100:33:14

20A. Where's 20A, Mum?

0:33:140:33:15

I've told you. It's the salon.

0:33:150:33:17

Mum, what have you done?

0:33:180:33:20

Ssh. Mummy's here. Mummy's here, it's all right.

0:34:070:34:11

Kat, you might want to think about getting changed. We've got to be in court in 45 minutes.

0:34:110:34:16

-I ain't going nowhere till the police get here.

-< Michael!

0:34:160:34:19

What is she doing here?

0:34:200:34:22

-That was quick.

-All right? Ronnie came to see me.

0:34:250:34:29

Do you know what she did? Your sister. Your precious sister.

0:34:290:34:33

-Yeah, all right, Kat, thank you, I've heard.

-I'm going to see if the police are here, all right?

0:34:330:34:38

-She said she was tricked.

-KAT SCOFFS

0:34:390:34:43

She said she was tricked to come to the playground.

0:34:430:34:45

-She said I texted her, telling her to be there.

-We've heard her lies and don't believe her.

0:34:450:34:50

-So I checked my phone. Nothing.

-See?

0:34:500:34:52

Then she showed me hers. And there is a text from me to her,

0:34:520:34:57

only I didn't send it.

0:34:570:35:00

You took my phone. You had it, didn't you?

0:35:000:35:03

-You're the only one that could've done this.

-What?

0:35:030:35:07

-She's telling the truth. You did this.

-Don't be ridiculous.

0:35:090:35:12

-Did you put the locket in there?

-No...

0:35:120:35:15

Did you lie about her being outside the Vic?

0:35:150:35:18

No. No, she's just having you on.

0:35:180:35:21

She's playing with me? So what's that, then? What's that? I didn't write that.

0:35:210:35:25

I didn't write that. You did, didn't you, Michael? Huh?

0:35:250:35:28

Didn't you?!

0:35:290:35:31

Yeah.

0:35:310:35:34

-So...you're admitting it?!

-Yeah.

0:35:370:35:40

I am.

0:35:400:35:42

And I'll tell you why. Because she would have got off.

0:35:420:35:46

You don't know what Jack was like when he was Old Bill. He was crooked.

0:35:460:35:49

He was completely bent.

0:35:490:35:51

-And he was shelling out all this money for this fancy QC.

-I

-needed to be sure.

0:35:510:35:55

By setting up my sister?! By making out she wanted to snatch Tommy?

0:35:550:35:59

Yeah. What, her going free, that's your idea of justice, is it?

0:35:590:36:03

-Did you really do this?

-Yeah.

0:36:030:36:05

Yeah, it's important that she pays. She pays for what she did to our kid.

0:36:050:36:10

By sending her to prison? By doubling her sentence?

0:36:100:36:13

She's twisted, she's damaged goods.

0:36:130:36:17

-She had to go.

-You shut up. You shut up.

-Roxy...

0:36:180:36:22

I'm damaged goods, Michael.

0:36:220:36:24

Should I be locked up as well?

0:36:240:36:26

It's yours, innit?

0:36:270:36:29

Is that yours? Everything that she did to you written down there. Plain as day.

0:36:290:36:34

The police are here. Downstairs with Alfie.

0:36:390:36:41

She took our kid.

0:36:410:36:43

Let's finish her for good.

0:36:430:36:46

Look, Ronnie, where are you?

0:37:000:37:02

There's police at the Vic.

0:37:020:37:05

-Leave me alone!

-Just get back here now, will you?

0:37:050:37:07

-Come on, hear me out, eh? Hear me out...

-Michael, did you not hear me?

0:37:070:37:11

I said leave me alone.

0:37:110:37:13

-I had to do it. She's a monster.

-She's my sister.

0:37:130:37:15

Your sister? She's used you.

0:37:150:37:17

Your whole life, she's used you. NOW is your time.

0:37:170:37:21

She don't love you. I'm the only one. I'm the only one, me, the one who loves you.

0:37:210:37:25

-You came on to her, didn't you?

-No, no.

-You tried to kiss my sister?

-No. No, I didn't, I didn't.

0:37:250:37:30

She'd do anything, she'd say anything to keep us apart.

0:37:300:37:33

-She's jealous.

-No, no...

-She's bang into me.

0:37:330:37:37

I do not believe you, all right? I do not believe you!

0:37:370:37:40

You walk away from me, I'm going to have serious doubts about you and me, all right?

0:37:400:37:44

-Well, I tell you something, yeah? Don't bother, OK? Cos we're finished.

-Where's Ronnie?

0:37:440:37:50

Jack, it was him. It was him. He set her up.

0:37:500:37:52

Nah, nah, mate. You're well shot.

0:37:520:37:54

-Where is she? Where's she gone?

-I think I know.

0:37:590:38:02

Come on, Carol. We got to get a place to see Ronnie,

0:38:280:38:31

-so she know we're there, that we're supporting her...

-What do you reckon?

0:38:310:38:35

Her QC's top drawer. If I was a betting man, I'd say she'd get away with a bit of therapy.

0:38:350:38:39

Well, let's hope so. For Jack's sake.

0:38:390:38:42

Ah, Ronnie. Just in time. You OK?

0:38:540:38:56

-Yep.

-This is Mr Granger, your counsel.

0:38:560:38:59

-Hello.

-He'd like a quick word.

0:38:590:39:01

-Lauren, it happened a couple of times. That's all.

-Once, you said!

0:39:080:39:13

Twice. Twice. That is it.

0:39:130:39:15

I promise you. I promise. Your dad wanted it to be something more. He wanted to get this flat.

0:39:150:39:22

It's silly, he was dreaming, and I said no. I told him it's a mistake and it's over. And that's it.

0:39:220:39:27

-That's it? Like it's nothing?!

-Yeah, because it was. It was nothing. It don't matter.

0:39:280:39:33

You... You're saying it doesn't matter?

0:39:330:39:35

The woman that was cheated on, you saw what it did to us,

0:39:350:39:38

-to me, Abi?

-I know, and that is exactly why it's never going to happen.

0:39:380:39:42

-So what, do you love him, then? Do you want to get back with him?

-No. No, of course I don't. I just...

0:39:420:39:49

I...

0:39:490:39:51

I'm so ashamed.

0:39:510:39:53

Oh, Lauren...

0:39:530:39:55

I don't blame you for hating me, all right, but I just...

0:39:580:40:03

I didn't know what I was doing.

0:40:040:40:06

It was him, weren't it? Did he take advantage of you?

0:40:090:40:13

No. No, it wasn't like that.

0:40:130:40:15

I know him, Mum. He caught you at a vulnerable moment and he got in there.

0:40:150:40:19

-Just like he did with Stacey.

-No.

0:40:190:40:21

-He did this TO you. He wants to mess everything up again, Mum.

-Babe, that's not fair.

-So, it was you?

0:40:210:40:27

He didn't make the first move?

0:40:270:40:29

It's not that simple, Lauren.

0:40:300:40:32

TANYA SIGHS

0:40:320:40:34

-He ain't going to get away with it.

-Lauren, where are you going?

0:40:340:40:38

No, Lauren. No, please listen. You cannot tell anyone, please. Not Greg. Not Vanessa.

0:40:380:40:43

No-one. Do you understand? It was a mistake, all right?

0:40:430:40:46

It was just a stupid mistake.

0:40:460:40:49

I love Greg.

0:40:490:40:50

I love my life.

0:40:500:40:52

I don't want anyone getting hurt, darling. Not you, not Abi, not Oscar.

0:40:520:40:57

And you won't do it again?

0:40:570:40:58

Never. I swear to you.

0:40:580:41:01

I swear on my life. That is it.

0:41:010:41:03

I've just been going over your plea of mitigation. It's very persuasive.

0:41:100:41:14

Family history. Psychiatric report. The death of your child.

0:41:140:41:18

I think I can spin that into a pretty convincing narrative.

0:41:180:41:21

-You'd have to have a heart of stone not to understand.

-Ronnie!

0:41:210:41:24

Mr Branning. >

0:41:240:41:27

Listen, can I get a couple of minutes with my wife, please?

0:41:270:41:30

I'm afraid not. We're running late as it is.

0:41:300:41:32

Two minutes. Tops.

0:41:320:41:34

It's very important. Please.

0:41:340:41:36

-Be quick.

-Yeah, I will. Come on.

0:41:360:41:38

Why didn't you come back?

0:41:440:41:45

-What were you thinking?

-I don't know, I don't know, I just...

0:41:450:41:49

Look, the car's outside. Bags are packed. Passports. Come on, let's go.

0:41:490:41:53

-Go where?

-Down there. Get in the car. It's not too late. Come on.

0:41:530:41:56

-No.

-Hang on, Ron. If you go in that court, anything can happen.

0:41:590:42:02

-I mean, do you want to risk that?

-What's the alternative?

-We run away together. Start a new life. Come on.

0:42:020:42:08

-It's not going to work.

-Yeah, of course it is.

0:42:110:42:14

I'll get some money sent over. Roxy, can visit.

0:42:140:42:17

-And you think she's really going to want to do that?

-Yeah, I do. She knows about Michael.

-What?

0:42:170:42:23

Everyone knows about Michael.

0:42:230:42:26

We can go wherever you want.

0:42:270:42:29

Be together. Just me and you. Start again. Have a baby. It's a second chance.

0:42:290:42:34

-It's just a dream.

-Why?

0:42:360:42:38

-Other people are happy. Why can't we be?

-Because I did this, Jack.

0:42:380:42:42

I did this. I did it to Kat.

0:42:420:42:44

-I'm actually capable of that.

-You were desperate. You weren't well.

0:42:440:42:49

It doesn't matter, Jack. I took him.

0:42:490:42:51

-You gave him back.

-I took him.

-You gave him back, Ron.

-And that's enough? Is that enough?

0:42:510:42:55

That's my punishment?

0:42:550:42:57

We'll start our new lives together on a beach, sipping cocktails? Everything's going to be great?!

0:42:570:43:02

I am always going to know that I did this, Jack.

0:43:040:43:07

Now, I need to put this behind me...

0:43:090:43:12

and I can't do that if we just run.

0:43:120:43:15

We can't just run, Jack, it's not right.

0:43:150:43:17

-Yeah, but who cares about what's right?

-I

-care!

0:43:170:43:21

I care because I want a clean start.

0:43:220:43:25

I want to put this behind me, and I need to feel some peace.

0:43:250:43:29

You ain't going to get that in here. No-one's going to give you peace.

0:43:290:43:33

-Jack, I've got to go.

-What about me?

0:43:390:43:42

I love you, Ron.

0:43:420:43:45

You're my wife.

0:43:450:43:46

-I won't be able to go on without you.

-Listen, it's not going to work, Jack. It's not going to work.

0:43:480:43:54

You can't just keep pushing and pushing until everything falls into place.

0:43:560:44:00

We've got this new life together, a baby - it's a dream.

0:44:000:44:04

It's a dream. It's a lovely dream, but it's just not true, Jack.

0:44:040:44:08

-It's not true, and you know it.

-Don't talk like that...

0:44:080:44:14

Too much has happened, Jack.

0:44:140:44:16

Let me go.

0:44:180:44:20

Let me go... and let me go properly this time.

0:44:220:44:26

-Not just words. You've got to let me go.

-I don't want to.

0:44:260:44:30

I love you, Ron.

0:44:330:44:34

I know.

0:44:340:44:36

Everything's going to be OK, Jack. Everything's going to be OK.

0:44:360:44:41

I've got to go.

0:44:450:44:47

-We really have to go.

-Ron...

-Roxy, come on.

0:45:020:45:06

Mrs Branning, we really have to go in!

0:45:060:45:10

-You've made some changes.

-Yeah.

0:45:430:45:45

Why don't you take a seat?

0:45:470:45:49

-Are you Veronica Branning?

-Yes. I am.

0:46:330:46:37

Max, it's me.

0:46:400:46:42

I saw Lauren and she knows... Just call me, will you?

0:46:420:46:45

DOOR CLOSES

0:46:450:46:46

< Tan?

0:46:460:46:47

Hey, here we go.

0:46:470:46:49

-Hello.

-He has exhausted me.

-Come here, you. Come here, give us a cuddle.

0:46:490:46:55

Give us a tighter cuddle, you.

0:46:550:46:57

I'd like to now read Kathleen Moon's victim impact statement.

0:47:000:47:05

No-one can imagine what's it like to lose your child,

0:47:080:47:12

especially when you've spent less than an hour with them.

0:47:120:47:16

I can only say that I didn't know any feeling could hurt so bad.

0:47:160:47:21

It was like my whole body ached.

0:47:210:47:23

Inside and out. My head, too.

0:47:230:47:26

My eyes. Every inch of me.

0:47:260:47:29

Me and Alfie could barely talk to each other.

0:47:290:47:32

We couldn't bear to look at his toys.

0:47:320:47:34

When we buried him in his tiny white coffin, I wanted to be dead too.

0:47:340:47:40

I wanted them to cover me in earth too.

0:47:400:47:44

And it didn't stop. It got worse, day after day.

0:47:440:47:48

I couldn't sleep.

0:47:480:47:51

Just pain and misery till I couldn't feel anything any more.

0:47:510:47:56

And all this time, Ronnie Branning seemed happy and content with her new baby

0:47:560:48:01

and didn't even bother to hide it.

0:48:010:48:05

It seemed like she enjoyed it.

0:48:050:48:07

Like she was gloating.

0:48:070:48:09

Once, I cried.

0:48:090:48:12

I cried in front of her and I'm sure I saw her smiling.

0:48:120:48:16

-No, no, this is not fair.

-Sit down.

-This is not fair, OK?

0:48:160:48:19

If you interrupt, I'll have you taken into custody for contempt.

0:48:190:48:23

My sister wouldn't laugh at you. She wouldn't laugh at you.

0:48:230:48:26

-Her baby died as well.

-This is your last warning.

-She was miserable with what she did.

0:48:260:48:30

-I'm finding you in contempt.

-You know that, Kat. You know that.

-Take her down.

0:48:300:48:35

Fine.

0:48:350:48:38

This ain't right, and you know it.

0:48:390:48:41

Please continue.

0:48:540:48:55

She flaunted her baby in front of us day after day until, finally,

0:49:010:49:07

when she knew she was going to be caught,

0:49:070:49:09

she just gave him back like a borrowed toy.

0:49:090:49:14

I've missed all of those months of my baby's life.

0:49:140:49:17

Sometimes I look at him, and I think I don't know him at all.

0:49:170:49:21

When he's crying, I think he's crying for her.

0:49:210:49:26

I can't let my child out of my sight.

0:49:260:49:28

A minute and I'm nervous.

0:49:280:49:31

We have locks on the doors.

0:49:310:49:32

Locks everywhere. I keep him close all day and all night.

0:49:320:49:38

She done that to us.

0:49:390:49:41

And even now we've got him back, it's only just begun.

0:49:420:49:47

DOOR OPENS

0:50:010:50:03

SHE MOUTHS

0:50:070:50:09

Your Honour, you will appreciate that my client pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.

0:50:220:50:28

She is full of remorse, and also has suffered tremendously herself.

0:50:280:50:33

Only one hour prior to Veronica Branning taking Tommy Moon, she lost her own baby.

0:50:330:50:39

He was only a day old.

0:50:390:50:41

Mrs Branning was alone, her husband Jack away, working to support his new family.

0:50:410:50:47

-I'm sure we can all imagine the terrible impact of such a loss.

-Stop!

0:50:470:50:51

Stop, I don't want him to say any more.

0:50:530:50:55

-Sorry, Your Honour. If I could just speak to my client...

-No, I've changed my mind.

0:50:550:51:00

My client is in a very vulnerable state.

0:51:010:51:03

I don't want anything said. I don't want any excuses made.

0:51:030:51:09

There aren't any excuses for what I did.

0:51:110:51:14

Very well.

0:51:140:51:16

Unless you have anything else for us, Mrs Bartlett...

0:51:160:51:20

No, Your Honour.

0:51:200:51:22

Then I'll proceed to sentencing.

0:51:220:51:26

I know. I know what you been doing with Mum. Yeah, she told me.

0:51:300:51:34

-Look, Lauren...

-No, I don't want to hear you talk.

0:51:390:51:43

From now on, I'm living with Mum all the time.

0:51:430:51:47

I don't want to see you. I don't want to hear your voice.

0:51:470:51:50

You come near her again, you touch her,

0:51:500:51:53

then I'll get a car, I'll wait till it's dark

0:51:530:51:57

and this time, I'll make sure I don't miss.

0:51:570:52:01

This is a case involving a mother who has lost her child,

0:52:060:52:11

and while her personal circumstances are tragic,

0:52:110:52:14

to deprive another family of their newborn child

0:52:140:52:19

in such a manipulative way and for a prolonged period of time

0:52:190:52:25

means that realistically there is only one sentence which is appropriate...

0:52:250:52:30

..immediate custody.

0:52:310:52:34

Having taken into account the mitigating factors, the reports,

0:52:340:52:39

the personal circumstances,

0:52:390:52:42

the least sentence that I can impose is three years.

0:52:420:52:47

Take her down.

0:52:530:52:55

No, wait, wait. This ain't right.

0:52:550:52:58

Look, Ronnie, those things I said to you - I was upset, I was really upset.

0:52:580:53:03

I don't want her to go to prison. I don't. I thought I did but I don't.

0:53:030:53:07

I'm afraid that's not up to you to decide, Mrs Moon.

0:53:070:53:10

You can't take her! She's lost her baby!

0:53:100:53:13

She's like me, she lost her baby. The only difference is, I got mine back.

0:53:130:53:17

Ronnie...

0:53:180:53:20

Ronnie... Ronnie, I don't want this.

0:53:200:53:23

Ronnie, you were right.

0:53:230:53:26

Me and you, we are the same.

0:53:260:53:29

I forgive you.

0:53:300:53:31

I forgive you.

0:53:330:53:35

KEYS JANGLE

0:53:500:53:52

-This way, Veronica.

-Ron...

-Roxy.

0:54:200:54:23

Roxy, listen to me. Listen to me. I'm fine, I'm fine.

0:54:230:54:28

Everything's going to be OK, I promise you.

0:54:280:54:30

Please, can you just give us a minute? Please?

0:54:300:54:34

-What am I going to do without you?

-Listen to me.

0:54:360:54:41

Listen to me, you don't need me. You don't need me.

0:54:410:54:45

The truth is... the truth is, it's been you.

0:54:450:54:48

It's been you who's been looking after me all of these years, and you don't need me any more.

0:54:480:54:54

-I do.

On the day of Ronnie’s sentencing she’s desperate to talk to Roxy, but Roxy ignores her calls. Taking her mobile, Michael sends Roxy to the salon and thinks she should forget about Ronnie. Jack reveals he and Ronnie are flying to Mexico after the sentencing to start a new life. Carol’s convinced Ronnie broke into the Vic, guilty Abi confesses it was really her and Jay. Kat says it doesn’t matter, Ronnie still did what she did. Alfie’s wary when Michael offers to take Tommy to the playground, Kat overrules him and agrees. Ronnie receives a message from Roxy’s phone asking to meet at the playground, but arrives to find Tommy alone and crying in his pram. She picks him up to comfort him and, seeing Michael watching her, realises she’s been set up again. Michael tells Kat and Alfie that Ronnie snatched Tommy. Panicking Kat begs for her baby back. Ronnie hands him over, insisting that Michael text her from Roxy’s phone. Incandescent with rage, Kat slaps Ronnie and hisses that when Ronnie gets sent down she’ll be laughing. Ronnie begs for Kat’s forgiveness; they’re the same, they’ve both lost babies. Kat refuses, declaring that Ronnie’s lucky she’s still breathing. With the police on the way, Jack’s horrified that Ronnie’s sentence could now be much more severe and insists they need to run away now. Finding Roxy to say goodbye, Ronnie shows her the text message sent from Roxy’s phone, telling her Michael set her up for rejecting him. Ronnie swears on Danielle’s grave that she’s telling the truth, giving Roxy her locket. Roxy won’t believe her, insisting that Ronnie’s twisted and declares she never wants to see her again. Devastated, Ronnie sets out determinedly for the Court. Doubts forming, Roxy confronts Michael who admits he set Ronnie up and calls her damaged goods. Kat’s appalled. When Jack discovers the truth, he punches Michael. Jack and Roxy hurry to the Court. Jack’s desperate, telling Ronnie it’s not too late to run but Ronnie’s determined, she has to put this behind her to feel some peace. Ronnie tearfully asks Jack to let her go. In court, Kat’s victim statement is read out. Roxy loudly objects, is held in contempt and taken into custody. As Ronnie’s QC starts to speak in her defence Ronnie stops him, refusing to have excuses made for her. Ronnie’s sentenced to three years in custody. Stricken, Kat realises she doesn’t want Ronnie to go to prison and forgives her, agreeing they are the same after all. As Ronnie’s led into the cells, Roxy hugs her and slips her Danielle’s locket. In tears, the sisters swear they’ll be together forever. Alone in her cell, Ronnie takes a deep breath and smiles; finally at peace.

Max’s taken out a three month lease on a flat for him and Tanya to escape to. Tanya’s worried by the commitment, and warns Max she’ll always choose family over him. Max convinces her to keep the key to the flat. Later when Max is in court, Lauren storms in; she knows about the affair and warns him to stay away from Tanya.

Lauren steals Ryan’s keys and waits on his bed for him. Ryan throws her out, much to her embarrassment. Noticing Max and Tanya have copies of the exact same key, Lauren interrogates guilty Tanya. Lauren realises Max and Tanya are having an affair.

Furious that she’s grassed him up about the break in at the Vic, Jay breaks up with Abi.
