-Between 9.00am and 3.00pm my

-studio guest was known as Mrs Tomos.

-This teacher is now an author...

-..and Heiddwen Tomos's debut novel

-has hit the shops.

-At the Oval Stadium in Caernarfon...

-..the football team has a wall

-of fame to celebrate 80 years.

-I'm in an old cowshed

-on the outskirts of Cardigan...

-..to meet the person

-behind these unique works of art.

-We start tonight with Owain Gwynedd.

-He always enjoys a trip back to his

-home town to meet the local clubs...

-..where they take the game seriously

-but are game for a big challenge.

-I associate rowing

-with calm waters...

-..Pinsent and Redgrave

-and Olympic gold medals.

-There's more than

-one style of rowing.

-I've come to Porthmadog Rowing Club

-to learn more about sea rowing.

-In the depths of Snowdonia...

-..they use Celtic boats to battle

-the elements on the big waves.

-The club was established

-15 years ago...

-..and is preparing for the extreme

-Celtic Challenge.

-It goes from Arklow in County

-Wicklow in Ireland to Aberystwyth.

-It's 90 nautical miles or about

-100 miles if you were walking.

-The race will take anything

-from 15 to 25 hours...

-..depending on the conditions

-on the sea.

-Last year's race was postponed

-due to the bad weather.

-Many members of the team have

-completed the race in the past...

-..including Richard Aherne.

-We had a good start

-but the weather turned...

-..and it took us much longer

-than we had predicted.

-It took 22 hours which is close

-to a day out on the sea.

-It doesn't sound fun so

-why did you decide to do it again?

-It's a real challenge

-and you should test yourself.

-There are many elements

-you can enjoy as a team.

-It's a social thing because

-everyone gets along really well.

-Through rowing, you meet a lot of

-different people from other clubs.

-We do a lot of travelling

-all over the country.

-We have rowers of all ages.

-All eyes

-are on the trip to Ireland.

-The four members in the boat won't

-have to row the whole distance.

-Each team is made up

-of twelve rowers.

-Each crew rows for an hour...

-..before resting on a sailing boat

-whilst another crew takes over.

-We've been out so many times

-that I should be physically fine...

-..but psychologically...

-..I think the magnitude of the event

-will hit me on the day.

-Let's hit the water to put the team

-to the test but what's their secret?

-Everyone needs to row in and out

-at the same time...

-..or the boat won't travel

-in a straight line.

-They need to listen and I need to

-read the water and wind carefully.

-It's gorgeous and we're lucky to be

-able to row in such a lovely area.

-There's 80 miles to go and there's

-a strong possibility of rough seas.

-We have to do what we can

-and hope for the best.

-we welcome new members all summer.

-I also enjoy being creative at home.

-It's quite an unusual novel.

-Some parts of it are very dark.

-There are other parts of it that is

-funny.

-I live in the countryside.

-This comes through in the book.

-from your novel, Dwr Yn Yr Afon.

-The voice is back again and

-telling me that it's all my fault.

-I'm to blame

-and I can't get rid of that thought.

-He told me to write things down,

-to keep a record or a diary...

-..to help put things in order.

-He told me to take the tablets

-to keep me quiet...

-..to stop him inside from telling me

-that I was to blame.

-I'll take them.

-I'll take them all one day.

-It's quite dark!

-Yes, there are parts of it

-that are dark and uneasy.

-I hope there's also some humour

-in there too.

-I hope it's worth reading.

-Your home is close to your heart.

-Yes, so I wrote the book

-in my local dialect.

-The lcoal dialect

-is something to celebrate.

-We have a lot of different sayings

-in rural Wales.

-I thought it would be great to have

-something like that in Welsh.

-and culture whilst having fun.

-gnomes, giants and dragons.

-It's like other games as you have

-statistics and battle one another.

-Some characters are from Caerphilly

-so we came here to launch them.

-the legends of Wales.

-We've learnt about magical creatures

-and I enjoyed it.

-It's very creative.

-I'm looking forward

-to playing the game at home.

-I can't wait to play the game

-The children have enjoyed learning

-about all these strange creatures.

-We all know those children

-who don't like books and reading.

-This is an original way to educate

-children about Welsh legends.

-Since January, Joanna Jones has used

-this to start her own business.

-Joanna Jones lives on a smallholding

-between Cardigan and Penparc.

-Her studio is a renovated cowshed

-situated at the end of the garden.

-This is where

-she enjoys being creative.

-Joanna, tell us about Jacos.

-It all started when I began creating

-contemporary lovespoon designs.

-I played with the idea

-of the old-fashioned spoons...

-..and started making spoons for

-all sorts of different occasions.

-I started by making them for friends

-before advertising on Facebook.

-They proved popular

-so I started developing Mrs Jacos.

-She started inside a small frame

-and now appears in various places.

-In Aberaeron,

-she can be seen eating chips.

-She also has chips in New Quay

-and goes fishing for crabs.

-She goes fishing for salmon

-on the River Teifi in Cardigan.

-She also drinks wine

-outside the Sloop in Porthgain.

-I taught Art in Llanelli before

-working at the National Wool Museum.

-I've always enjoyed being creative

-and making things at home.

-The time was right and had some

-spare time so decided to go for it!

-Tell me about the unique name, Jacos

-which not everyone will understand.

-Jacos is part of our local dialect

-which means contentment.

-It's what this is all about for me.

-This is my chance to live the life

-that I've always dreamed of.

-The local dialect

-has inspired the company's name...

-The Preseli is nearby

-and I'm surrounded by countryside.

-There's inspiration everywhere but

-I mostly concentrate on the seaside.

-I like to remind people

-of their holidays...

-..and give them that warm feeling

-when it's cold during the winter.

-I hope that my work

-will bring people happiness...

-to be joyful.
