-Eisteddfod.

-We also visited Y Lle in Llanelli.

-The Crymych Rugby Club Choir

-..and there was a whole lot more.

-We launched the song yesterday.

-It was an unusual launch.

-The project has grown in momentum.

-I wanted it to feel like it was

-a community project.

-I did a flashmob in a supermarket.

-It was great because we had a choir

-from Anglesey.

-They joined me at the supermarket.

-It was quite chaotic.

-The staff of the Tesco supermarket

-in Holyhead were great.

-You've been in an array of bands.

-This is something very new for you.

-How did you compose the song?

-I didn't want to think too much

-about the song.

-It had to be tongue-in-cheek.

-I wanted it to work on an acoustic

-level.

-It meant that everyone could be a

-part of it.

-You launched the song at a great

-time...

-..with the Welsh team's success in

-Euro 2016.

-I had a meeting about the flashmob.

-We thought Wales would be out of the

-football by then!

-I can't believe that they're still

-in it.

-People can view the song online.

-Yes, and you can buy it on iTunes

-and all those sites.

-We look forward to hearing

-your song, Pethau Bychain later.

-A new musical is being staged at the

-Millennium Centre over the weekend.

-I Merlin and the Lady of Flowers

-is based on the story of Blodeuwedd.

-Rhodri met the cast and crew

-during their rehearsals.

-We are used to seeing him

-in front of an audience...

-..but this time, Ieuan Rhys

-is the director of I Merlin.

-His dedication to the work

-speaks volumes.

-It was written by Kath Cole.

-Kath and I were in college together

-some 33 years ago.

-I hadn't seen her since then.

-I got a message on Facebook asking

-if I'd like to direct the show.

-I've done some directing before

-but nothing on this scale...

-..so I looked at the script

-and songs and went for it!

-My message read, "Remember me?

-Will you direct this show?"

-He thought about it for a few days

-and finally agreed to do it.

-It's important to have a great

-director and I'm grateful to Ieuan.

-He works in the professional world

-and not with amateurs.

-Yes, the cast is an amateur one...

-..who have jumped at the chance

-of performing in a showstopper.

-I work for a housing association

-in my day job but also sing and act.

-In previous shows, such as Les Mis,

-it was the same old thing...

-..but this is new, unique, full of

-magic, music and is very different.

-I love the story of Blodeuwedd

-and am studying it for my GCSEs.

-Performing in this show

-has helped me with the Welsh.

-We did the story of Blodeuwedd and

-I had ideas about her feelings...

-..so this helped with my studies.

-Do you wonder why I feel this way?

-While you hold a torch for her.

-The cast and director

-have grown into the production.

-I was nervous at first but am

-enjoying the role of director now.

-We've got a great team.

-There's 23 amateurs from Cardiff,

-Penarth, Swansea and Neath...

-..and I'm having a whale of a time!

-He has worked with famous directors

-like Michael Bogdanov...

-..so there's plenty of help on hand.

-I asked his advice

-when I accepted this position.

-He told me to enjoy it

-and to bite my tongue...

-..due to the nature of the piece and

-cast as they are not professionals.

-It's incredible to work with Ieuan

-as I remember him from Pobol y Cwm.

-Working with him is amazing and

-he draws the character out of you.

-It's Blodeuwedd from the Mabinogion

-with a bit of a twist.

-It's called I Merlin

-and the Lady of Flowers.

-People will enjoy it

-of rock, love and comedic.

-It's something

-the whole family can enjoy.

-who was killed in a car accident.

-ten years ago.

-A group of us are cycling

-around the Welsh coast.

-We started at Queensferry

-on Saturday...

-..and hope to finish in Chepstow

-on Sunday.

-Nia and I heard about the tour

-and decided to join them.

-The lads have had a lot of coverage

-so we joined them.

-It's our third day and we're still

-going but we're being looked after!

-It's been windy

-so it helps to follow the others.

-Ianto's a bit small to be cycling

-but he's here to show his support.

-We're raising money for the worthy

-charity of the Wales Air Ambulance.

-We're having a great time,

-aren't we?

-It's nice to have a little holiday!

-It's great being in a team.

-Saturday was tough

-but yesterday was better.

-We're taking each mile and hill

-as they come.

-It's a lovely feeling

-to reach the end of each day.

-Last Friday saw the launch of a book

-about the school...

-..and the unveiling

-of a special commemorative stone.

-It's an honour for me

-to unveil this special stone.

-Dilwyn Morgan, the entertainer,

-councillor and former pupil...

-..unveiled the stone that marks

-400 years of education at Botwnnog.

-Four centuries

-is an incredible milestone.

-How did all this start, Geraint?

-The Bishop of Bangor, Henry Rowland

-died 400 years ago to this July.

-He was originally from Mellteyrn and

-left money in his will for a school.

-What are you hoping to achieve

-in tonight's celebrations?

-We've collected the memories

-of people to create this book.

-..meet old friends and enjoy

-an evening with the current pupils.

-We wanted to create

-a multi-medium exhibition...

-..using some old photographs,

-notebooks and newspaper cuttings.

-Social media is so important

-for these kinds of events.

-I had the task of informing people

-on Facebook about this event.

-There's a Facebook group for

-the pageant held later this year...

-..and a Facebook page

-for this event.

-Many people have asked

-about the launch of the book...

-..and it's been a great way

-to contact people across Wales.

-# Who went in search of those people

-to put in a pocket #

-I'm holding the book

-and am joined by its editor.

-It's quite a feat to squeeze

-400 years of history into a book.

-It isn't a complete history.

-There's more about the last century

-as many pupils are still alive...

-..but there's an outline

-of all the years...

-..and the troubles the school faced

-to remain open in a remote site.

-It's 55 years

-since I left Ysgol Botwnnog.

-I'm lucky that I was able to stay

-and work in the Botwnnog area.

-I'm delighted to be here tonight.

-You get a lot of support

-in the school.

-Those friends you make in the school

-are friends for life.

-It's an honour to be back

-at Hen Ysgol Hogiau Llyn...

-..to unveil a plaque

-that holds my name.

-I don't know how it happened as I'm

-no scholar and wasn't the worst...

-..but it's an honour to represent

-all the generations of children...

-..who were educated here.

-It's an institution

-that has affected us all...

-..and moulded the children of the

-Lleyn Peninsula for many centuries.

-I've got two ukulele bands.

-We all played at the Tafwyl

-Festival.
