-as they are looking for volunteers.

-It's an historic night

-in the capital.

-The national netball team of Wales

-plays against New Zealand.

-This is the first time for the Kiwis

-to play in Wales for 20 years.

-Earlier, they got a very warm

-welcome at the Ice Arena Wales.

-This is a massive event

-and I can't put it into words.

-It's wonderful to welcome the team

-that's second in the world to Wales.

-They haven't been here in 20 years

-so we can admire their talent.

-The atmosphere

-this morning was wonderful...

-..and it was great to have a

-local school singing for them too.

-We don't do this often.

-We sing at the Eisteddfod and for

-people in homes for the elderly.

-This is a real honour for us.

-because I really enjoy singing.

-It's massive for us.

-A great introduction this morning,

-welcome from Cwmbran's youngsters.

-A great venue to be this morning.

-We were going to host the games at

-the Sports Wales National Centre...

-..but the tickets sold

-in 48 hours.

-People realized its importance

-so we moved to the Ice Arena Wales.

-Tickets have flown and it's great

-that there's so much interest in it.

-It's a pretty big deal in Wales.

-We're happy to be here to

-promote netball and women's sport.

-We're excited to be on the court

-to see some competitive netball.

-Whilst the eyes of the world

-and the press are on us...

-..we can show them what's happening

-in the netball community.

-We work with schools

-and clubs across Wales.

-This is an aim for them

-in the future.

-It was lovely to welcome

-the New Zealand team to Wales.

-It's hotting up at the Ice Arena

-Wales...

-..and 2,000 people

-will watch tonight's match.

-As you can imagine, some members

-of the team were very nervous.

-There's just over an hour before the

-first throw so how are you feeling?

-I'm really excited

-and this is amazing for us.

-It's a great opportunity

-for netball in Wales.

-It's your first game

-for the senior team.

-You're playing against

-the second best team in the world.

-It's a lot of pressure but I'm

-excited and hope to get my cap.

-You can show the nation

-what you can do.

-The game is broadcast online

-and the Red Button on the BBC.

-You can show a massive audience

-what the ladies can do.

-We normally only play

-in front of 500 people...

-..so playing in an arena that holds

-3,000 people is amazing.

-I hope we forget that

-and do what needs to be done.

-a run for their money.

-..just like all the Welsh players.

-to Ysgol Pen-y-Garth...

-..to teach them about staying safe

-and finding help...

-..if they are worried

-or have been harmed by something.

-This is something that we do

-across the whole of Wales...

-..but today, we're joined by some

-international rugby players.

-They are here

-to support our message.

-I've learnt that you should talk

-to someone if you have a problem.

-The NSPCC is always there

-if you have a problem.

-Talk to someone you trust

-or contact Childline.

-Eleven and twelve are important ages

-for a child.

-They might have problems at home...

-..but might not be able

-to talk to a parent or a teacher.

-The NSPCC has spoken

-about Childline...

-..to show that there is someone

-who can listen to any problems.

-The children loved meeting

-the players...

-..and hearing about the Internet.

-This day is aimed

-at the young people...

-..as well as their parents.

-The children know where to turn.

-What are the dangers?

-Don't be afraid of it.

-In the past, we spoke about

-computers...

-..but these days, there are

-mobile phones and tablets...

-..where children can go online...

-..in all sorts of different

-surroundings.

-You need to tell your children...

-..what they are allowed

-and what they should not do.

-People are taking advantage

-of common passwords used...

-..that can be easily hacked.

-Many passwords ask for a pet's name.

-It's important to be on your guard

-about what details you share online.

-Don't share photographs...

-..unless you've had permission

-to do so.

-Parents should take an interest

-in the social media.

-It's important to talk.

-professional cyclist, Owain Doull.

-He's just joined Team Sky.

-S4C has followed him

-for the last six months...

-..since he won his gold medal

-in the Olympic Games in Rio.

-You can see a programme about him

-on S4C at 9.30pm.

-Let's hear how he felt

-about the whole experience.

-You're back from Australia where you

-were supposed to compete with Sky...

-..for the first time, but

-unfortunately it didn't happen.

-No, it didn't go to plan.

-The aim was to fly out there

-after the new year...

-..train for a few weeks

-and then start to race.

-It was my first time with Sky

-in a world tour race.

-Training went well, but the night

-before the first race I fell ill.

-I was vomiting

-and had pain in my appendix.

-After three days at the hotel,

-I was admitted to hospital.

-My appendix had ruptured and I had

-to rest before returning to Cardiff.

-How are you feeling now

-and are you back on your bike?

-I'm recovering and have progressed

-massively since coming home.

-I've gone from doing 20 minutes

-a day to doing four hours daily.

-I've missed out, but hopefully

-I'll get back on track.

-I'll never forget 2016.

-Although this year didn't start out

-well, last year was quite special.

-It was such a great year for you

-and S4C followed you for six months.

-It was a great experience

-and quite different.

-I was doing something I do every day

-with a camera there following me.

-You haven't seen the programme yet

-but how do you feel about it?

-I'm quite nervous

-but looking forward to it.

-I don't know if I want to watch it

-with my parents or just on my own.

-But I'm looking forward to it.

-Your life's changed

-since winning gold.

-Part of that is the cameras

-and being recognized in public.

-How has that affected your life?

-It's been quite weird.

-During Christmas in Cardiff,

-I went out with a few friends.

-A gentleman from South Wales

-wanted my photo with his family.

-Someone else also asked

-for a photograph with me.

-What's next for Owain Doull?

-I've got another week in Cardiff and

-I hope the weather isn't too bad.

-I've also got a ticket

-for the match against England.

-It's worth staying around for that.

-I'll train in Nice before my next

-race or rather my first Sky race.

-It's the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and

-Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, in Belgium.

-It's later this month, and hopefully

-there isn't any mishaps this time.

-Don't forget to tune into

-A pivotal aspect of the work

-is creating a welcome centre.

-And this is where you can help.

-Yr Ysgwrn will open on 27 May

-and you can help us in all areas.

-Saturday sees a volunteering fair at

-Prysor Centre near Trawfynydd Lake.

-You're able to call in and find out

-how you'll lend a hand at Yr Ysgwrn.

-When volunteers come and assist,

-you'll expect them to help out here.

-Visitors will park here

-and walk to the welcome centre.

-The volunteers here

-will greet visitors.

-They'll reveal how the site operates

-and narrate the story of Hedd Wyn.

-Volunteers also address visitors

-at our gallery and archives here.

-You're a volunteer, John, so what's

-your plea to potential volunteers?

-Come and help out.

-I enjoy being here and assisting and

-I look forward to helping visitors.

-A lot of people visit the attic,

-kitchen, parlour and farmyard...

-We've tried to keep the place

-like it used to be.

-Yr Ysgwrn Volunteering Fair is

-There are two sessions from 10.30am

-to 12.30pm and 2.00pm until 4.00pm.
