-most popular libraries is situated?

-It isn't far from our studios and

-is just around the corner.

-Over the past year, almost 500,000

-things have left Llanelli Library...

-..and we're here to celebrate.

-We hear more about an emotional

-appeal to help a young mother...

-..to receive special

-treatment abroad.

-If you entered our competition to

-is back on our screens.

-What do you think about

-when you think of a library?

-A quiet, dusty place full of books?

-These buildings are busy

-shaking off that stereotype.

-A stone's throw from our studio

-there's a library which recently...

-..was honoured for welcoming

-hundreds of thousands of people.

-Daf went to find out more.

-If you know Llanelli town centre,

-you'll recognize the high street...

-..the old Llanelli House building

-and the library opposite.

-Recently, the place received

-some very special news.

-It was named as lending...

-..the third highest amount of books

-and other items in the UK...

-..over half a million.

-There's something for everyone here.

-It's not like a traditional library.

-We have changed

-and have had to change.

-We welcome this change,

-moving forwards with local partners.

-We want to make the library into a

-welcoming community for everyone.

-This is the children's library.

-We have many events, like the story

-time you can see behind me.

-We have crafts, films

-and an active story time...

-..when children can move around

-and play during the session.

-So much happens in here.

-There is a lot of space

-and a lot of resources.

-It's ways from the main flow

-of the library.

-We work together with the library,

-Job Centre and the community.

-We train the digital skills

-of those looking for work.

-That happens between ten and twelve

-every Tuesday morning.

-Llanelli library is unique.

-Not only can you take out books,

-You can even come here

-to play computer games.

-When people sign up to the library,

-they can use our online services.

-You can even take your driving

-theory test here.

-That is popular and we also have

-IndieFlix to stream films online.

-All that by just getting

-your library card.

-I think I should get one!

-We have over 14,000 items

-in our local collection...

-..as well as over 7,000 pictures.

-We have newspapers in our archive.

-It's the oldest photo of Athenaeum

-It was taken in 1863...

-Volunteers outside the building.

-tree, this is the place to come.

-I have an interest in the farm

-where I grew up.

-I am researching that project.

-It's not possible to have a library

-in every village or town.

-The library has a good name,

-is modern and very welcoming.

-We like to see different people

-of all ages coming here.

-Because so much goes on here,

-it's a nice happy place to visit.

-The Llanelli library looks like it's

-going from strength to strength.

-It's an exciting political time.

-Mainly because of Brexit.

-Both issues will be on the agenda.

-It should be fiery tomorrow.

-The referendum programme last year

-was very heated.

-It's a new development.

-then use Twitter on their phones.

-We still manage to get audiences.

-Some like us and some don't.

-It adds to the fun.

-Pawb a'i Farn is 20 years old

-next year.

-Next year, it will be 20 years since

-I started.

-It's also 25 years since the

-programme started.

-Some things have changed but others

-haven't.

-We found one about Bill Clinton.

-We always talk about S4C.

-The standard of Welsh language

-has also been discussed.

-We used to talk about BSE

-20 years ago.

-We also spoke about organ donation.

-That has changed a lot.

-These days, we're more aware

-of young people suffering...

-..with different diseases and there

-are campaigns to help them.

-Recently, an appeal to raise

-money for a Llanelli mother...

-..who needs specialist treatment

-abroad for cancer has come to light.

-Save Nicola is the name of the

-appeal and this is her story.

-I was first diagnosed with cancer

-when I was 15 years old.

-It's called osteosarcoma

-which is a type of bone cancer.

-I've been fighting cancer

-ever since.

-I finished chemotherapy on the NHS

-as there's nothing more they can do.

-We're a close family,

-but it has been difficult...

-..ever since Nicola has surgery

-to remove her leg, five years ago.

-Owen and Ava.

-They want to care for their mother

-and make sure she gets better.

-We're trying to raise 75,000

-as quickly as possible...

-..so that we can take Mam to

-Switzerland to have an operation...

-..so that it stops her

-from having cancer ever again.

-You can buy Save Nicola t-shirts

-and jumpers too.

-We've arranged numerous events

-to raise money...

-..including a skydive, a bake off

-competition in Swiss Valley...

-..and a concert which has been

-arranged by Gary Griffiths...

-..at St Mary's Church, Burry Port

-the people who have supported Mam.

-I'm very grateful to everyone.

-We've raised 20,000.

-It began in September 1992

-and in three months time...

-..it will have run classes on

-strict-metre poetry for 25 years.

-The aim is to celebrate

-with a volume of poetry...

-..made up of work

-by present and former members.

-This is where you can help.

-The school was founded in 1992 at

-the Stag & Pheasant in Pontarsais.

-Tudur Dylan Jones was our young

-teacher at that time.

-We have gained success

-over the years.

-We moved from the Stag & Pheasant

-into some of the pubs in the town.

-We then gave ourselves a new name,

-Carmarthen Bardic School.

-We've been thinking of ways to

-celebrate a quarter of a century.

-One of them is to create a volume

-by members and former members.

-I'd like to encourage those

-of you who are former members...

-..to get in touch with us.

-I can then invite you to send in

-a poem to be included in the book.

-The book is to represent our

-membership over this time.
