-folk music and clog dancing.

-I'm in a very wet capital

-to mark that it's 100 days...

-..until Cardiff hosts the final of

-the UEFA Women's Champions League.

-Tonight's programme features

-two talented young ladies.

-The first is the singer, actress

-and new presenter of S4C's Tag.

-welcome to the programme.

-It's great to be here.

-We also meet Glesni Jones

-..who is the British

-Women's Enduro champion.

-We start in Bala with a group who

-were part of the Folk Frenzy event.

-It's organized by Trac Wales,

-the Folk Development Organization.

-Glan-llyn has been packed to the

-rafters with young folk musicians.

-Elin joined them

-in one of their masterclasses.

-Glan-llyn has been home to you

-and the young people for four days.

-There hasn't been any canoeing

-or outdoor pursuits.

-No, we're here for the Folk Frenzy.

-It's a residential course for people

-aged between 11 and 18.

-They learn about traditional

-folk tunes on the violin and harp...

-..clog dancing, singing

-and they get to play together too.

-There wasn't a residential course

-for young people in Wales...

-..so there was a definite gap

-in the market for it.

-I've come to the Folk Frenzy...

-..because I enjoy clog dancing

-and wanted to learn some new steps.

-I've been clog dancing

-for three years.

-It's been great because I've learnt

-something new every year.

-Emma, myself and my sister

-play in a band with Dad.

-We sing, dance and play music so

-I wanted to learn some new routines.

-I've been coming here since the

-course started three years ago...

-..and teach the clog dancing.

-It's great to come back

-every year...

-..because you see how the children

-have aged and improved.

-One, two, three and...

-# All the ducks are swimming in

-the water, fol de rol de rol de ro #

-I'm the folk singing tutor

-at the Folk Frenzy.

-This is my second year

-and it's brilliant.

-It's wonderful to see young people

-taking an interest in this music.

-It's a lot of fun.

-We've learnt a lot of new songs

-with Gwilym Bowen Rhys.

-A lot of the songs are from the

-girl's perspective which is great.

-The three of us in the class

-have similar voices.

-It means we can do something simple

-but the folk songs are unusual.

-I've been learning some great tunes

-and had cello lessons with Jordan.

-He's a fantastic tutor.

-He plays the tunes and he's great.

-The attendance has been higher than

-ever before which is encouraging.

-Yes, 35 people registered this year

-and there was a lot of new faces.

-We lost some people because

-they passed the age limit...

-..but they have wanted

-to come back as volunteers.

-I was at the very first Folk Frenzy

-when I was 16 and enjoyed it a lot.

-I've met some incredible people

-so I had to make sure it continues.

-The Folk Frenzy

-has evolved over the years.

-Whilst I'm enjoying

-the folk singing...

-..I jumped at the chance

-for a lesson in clog dancing.

-Sorry...

-I'm not very good at this!

-Despite Sioned's efforts, I think

-I'd better stick to presenting!

-The best thing about the Folk Frenzy

-is the atmosphere.

-It helps you to communicate

-with people in a new way.

-At the end of the course, we all get

-together to show what we've learnt.

-It's very informal and shows

-what everyone has learnt.

-When the parents collect

-their children...

-..we'll show them all we've learnt

-before sending them on their way.

-There's a performance from the Folk

-Frenzy at the end of the programme.

-Glesni Jones works there

-as an outdoor pursuits coach.

-When she's not working, she is

-competing on her Enduro bike.

-As Gerallt found out...

-..Glesni has had plenty of success

-but is still very ambitious.

-This is the girl from Trawsfynydd

-who lives her life at high speed!

-It's no small feat to become

-the British Women's Enduro Champion.

-That's exactly what Glesni Jones did

-last year.

-As she trains near her home in Cwm

-Prysor, her sights are on Europe...

-..as Glesni and her bike

-broaden their horizons.

-Tell us about the bike.

-It's a Husqvarna,

-a CF Racing Husqvarna.

-Corwen Forestry

-have sponsored my bike.

-The bike is also road legal.

-In races like the British

-your bike has to be road legal...

-..because they do contain

-some road stages.

-What's it like being a woman

-competing in this sport?

-There aren't many women

-in the sport.

-There were six or seven competing

-in my class in the British.

-It's great to have fun

-with the lads.

-They're not keen to see a woman

-pass them and keep going...

-..but it's fun

-and there's some banter.

-Sarah, as a family,

-you must be proud of her...

-..but you must

-get worried sometimes.

-Maybe I worry sometimes.

-She started when she was ten

-at a club in Dyffryn Ardudwy.

-She has progressed well

-and we all support her.

-You must be very proud.

-Yes.

-She's quite a big sister, Sion.

-She provides me with some stiff

-competition.

-I'm starting to catch up with her

-so she'll need more training!

-As a family, it's quite a feat

-but it can be dangerous.

-It can be dangerous but they have

-to wear boots and body armour.

-They have a neck brace

-and elbow and knee pads.

-If you wear the right kit,

-you should be OK.

-She's broken her arm twice but

-that was carelessness on her part.

-It was the rider's fault,

-not the bike's fault.

-what goes on in the workshop.

-This work is as important

-as the rest.

-If anything, it's more important

-than the racing.

-If we don't prep the bike properly,

-the race is over before it starts.

-On the race day itself,

-how do you prepare mentally?

-On the morning of a big race,

-I tend to be quite quiet.

-When it's your turn, everything

-feels pressed into your stomach.

-It all bounces inside of you.

-Once the flag drops,

-it all goes away and off you go.

-It's a great feeling.

-What about the future

-and some big European races?

-It's a big step up

-from British competitions.

-It's at a higher level.

-Instead of 10 women in my class,

-there will be closer to 20 or 30.

-Standards are higher and it will

-be a good challenge for me.

-I'm looking forward

-to every step of the way.

-is usually a quiet place...

-..with people thumbing through

-the books and doing some work.

-Today is a little different.

-A show has been prepared

-for all its visitors.

-These members of Cor Glanaethwy

-gave the people a surprise...

-..with a flashmob.

-There was a very special reason

-behind it all.

-The main reason is to raise

-awareness...

-..that the Champions League final

-takes place in 100 days.

-We are announcing

-that countdown today.

-It's important to have this event

-for the Women's Champions League.

-We've done a lot of work to ensure

-that the women's game is growing.

-The pinnacle of the women's game

-takes place in Cardiff, Wales.

-It's a special occasion.

-It's probably the biggest female

-club competition in the world.

-The fact that my young

-internationals can see it live...

-..will inspire them to reach

-those levels in the future.

-What do you think of a flashmob

-to welcome it to Cardiff?

-It's very exciting.

-We start with The Prayer, a song

-we sang on Britain's Got Talent.

-We then sing a song by Gloria

-Estefan from 1997.

-We rehearse a lot

-and always give it 100%.

-We weren't sure how people

-would react.

-We watched peoples' faces as they

-looked around and it felt great.

-It was a fantastic experience

-to see people's faces as we sang.

-Out to the Hayes next,

-and despite the wind and rain...

-..the Glanaethwy choir were sure

-to attract the busy shoppers.

-Many people have stopped here

-to watch.

-People have known about it in

-Cardiff and it should be great.

-I loved doing the flashmob

-despite the rain.

-We've never done a flashmob before.

-It was nice to be off the stage

-and out in the open air.

-It was incredible to be a part

-of such a huge event in Wales.

-The game has grown a lot.

-There are many opportunities for

-women and girls to play the game.

-It's pleasure for me personally

-to see the final played in Cardiff.

-Cardiff has excellent facilities,

-stadium and atmosphere.

-It gives a flavour of what

-the Welsh team did in Euro 2016.

-We also want to bring

-the women's final into it.

-I think I've got a ticket already.

-I'll be at the women's final as I'll

-be involved in the next 100 days.

-I hope the football

-will be worth watching.
