-about the bardic school.

-It feels like yesterday

-but it was 25 years ago.

-Geraint Roberts visited and asked me

-to give cynghanedd lessons...

-..at the Stag & Pheasant pub

-in Pontarsais.

-At first, I was nervous as the

-others seemed to know everything.

-One principle of the school with

-Tudur Dylan Jones is encouragement.

-There's plenty of laughter

-and all efforts are appreciated.

-Over time, I became obsessed

-with the whole thing...

-..and I'm delighted to be part

-of the staff now!

-I was very nervous at the start

-because everyone was older than me!

-Today, most are younger than me

-and it's great to welcome new faces.

-One of those is Garmon Dyfri,

-a sixth former at Ysgol Bro Myrddin.

-He's been a member for three years.

-I chose to join

-for a number of reasons.

-Cynghanedd offers a unique challenge

-of combining literacy and numeracy.

-I've had lessons with

-Mererid and Dylan in the past...

-..so they pulled me

-towards the school.

-In terms of those who have

-gone through the process...

-..we have Aneirin, Eurig Salisbury

-and Hywel Griffiths.

-It isn't just the young as we have

-some very promising late-starters!

-I can't wait to read the poems

-that will come from them too.

-Aled Evans from Llangynnor

-has been a member for 17 years.

-I love literature and it gets me

-away from the four girls at home!

-Everyone is there to play with words

-but it's a lot of fun too.

-We have fun and I represented

-the school in bardic competitions...

-..which has taken us to many places.

-The best thing about being part

-of the bardic school...

-..is the company, fun and laughter.

-I'd encourage anyone to join us

-in the future.

-The ratio of work to play

-is about 30:70...

-..but there's fun to be

-had in the work too.

-It's 25 years later

-and the school is still running...

-..and we're proud of the success

-of all our members.

-The Carmarthen Bardic School has

-some incredibly talented members.

-Why did you start this, Geraint?

-It was 25 years ago...

-..that three of us were at

-the Stag & Pheasant in Pontarsais.

-We wanted to help the pub

-to retain its Welsh nature.

-We chose to start the classes.

-We had to ask Dylan to get involved.

-A host of chief bards

-have come from the school.

-The local Eisteddfods

-are very important too.

-It's great for all the members.

-I'm very proud of the book.

-Some 48 of our members...

-and they feature in the book.

-loved my life but that's over now.

-so we've come outdoors to cook!

-couscous and various herbs.

-and we have parsley, mint and dill.

-whilst I do the dressing.

-It's made of olive oil, white wine

-the Anglesey Cookery School?

-We're the first school on Anglesey

-so filled a gap in the market.

-What sort of people does it attract?

-Children do our junior cooks academy

-and adults attend our masterclasses.

-We also run lessons for the homeless

-and young carers...

-..and teach them

-to live independently.

-Next, you need a handful of rocket

-and the same of watercress.

-The couscous has olive oil, salt

-pepper, cardamom seeds and chilli.

-It's a very green dish so we want

-Many don't play outside school
