under the radar musicians, the chance to get on a stage at a big

festival and show us what they've got. Our voice and ears of BBC

I've been coming to T in the Park since I was 16 years old. For me

the best part of the festival is seeing young bands on the small

stages, before they become megastarts. This is the place that

happened. This is the BBC Right so we are all about every

kind of genre of new music. That includes hip-hop. Therecy

flourishing hip-hop scene in Scotland. At the top of the pile is

this man. How was that set for you? Amazing. That was crazy. Tell us a

bit about how it felt to be part of the BBC introducing? It felt

amazingly. It just all Spiraled, through Vic playing me back in the

day, to go -- to going on the show, you playing me and coming here.

Hopefully you can put me in touch with Westwood. We'll see what we

I think this is the reason why they come, to find new music. Want to

give the smaller bands a chance to be heard, to be scene. This gives

an opportunity to be on a bigger stage. Yeah, and have a crowd that

you'd not normally have. T In The Park, put your hands together for

one of the most exciting bands in How do you feel? Awesome. Out of

It wouldn't be T in the Park if I didn't chat to you. It's lovely to

be here. It's so nice to be here. How long since you have been here?

I don't know, at least three years I think. Wow. You've been off and

got married, travelled the word. Wrote an album. I remember this was

the first festival that I ever came to. Dito. In the back of a transit

called -- singing with a band called Scooby Doo collaboration. It

doesn't feel it's changed that much. Today were you... It's amazing.

It's, the atmosphere in that place is undescribable. It's a feat of

camping technology. I don't understand how you can have a tent

that fits 10,000 people. It's brilliant. How was it? Great. I

have to say that if I had to choose, I'd probably go with the tent as a

gig. Because you're just really sweaty and close and everyone os

packed in to see it. You can really see the whites of people's eyes.

It's such a good vibe. Even though there's 10,000 people this there,

you get incredible intimacy. Yeah, I had a new experience this year. I

got hit by quite a lot of stuff. This was fine. Soft toys or? There

was liquid, which I didn't really... Don't investigate that. I didn't

analyse. But there was a few missiles of the plastic bottle

flavour, which actually got me quite fired up. I quite liked it.

That's not to say I want to encourage that at my gigs or other

gigs. Any way... Is there kind of slap bang in the middle of a summer

of festivals and tours? Yeah pretty much in the middle. Glasto we've

had. I've come straight from Belgium and Latitude next weekend.

Hathaway on guitar. I saw that. Saw Katie, she was fantastic. What a

character as well. We know her well. We grew up with her. Saw a bit of

KT Tunstall. Saw a bit of Tinie Tempaah. I've had a really varied

day. I've been running round the site. Saw a band called United

Fruit. Saw a bit of BBC introducing. Saw dot JR there. Meeting loads of

punters and having great conversations everywhere. There's

been a bit of mud, there's been a bit of rain. But the highlight of

my day was meeting Blondie. wow! I grew up with Blondie right,

I managed to interview Christine, and Debbie Harry from the band. We

hit it off. You know when you do an interview and you bond with the

band. You're off for dinner with Blondie, is that what you're

saying? I would like to say so, but I think they're playing London.

That was an absolute highlight for me. I've been having a great time.

The band that we're going to check out a tune by wrt band that started

my day. I got here pretty early about 11.55am, this band took to

the stage. To me, they're one of the best bands around, whether it's

Scotland or beyond. They've released a couple of records on

Chemical Underground records. Check mate savage the first one and the

Things are picking up in terms of people knowing about you and the

and the festival on the Saturday. It's the B weekend. I want some

sleep. A few hours sleep. No! Plans for a new album, are you thinking

about that? Early days yet? We've got a few ideas. Probably take

about three years to come to fruition. I'm sure we can wait.
