Welcome to BBC3's coverage of the games.

:00:42.:00:47.

There are 25 gold medals up for grabs and 7 of

:00:48.:00:53.

That's the stats but let?s see the smiles because yesterday was another

:00:54.:00:57.

England have a bronze medal with Jessica Taylor. There is your

:00:58.:01:13.

Commonwealth champion by a country mile. What that must mean, well

:01:14.:01:27.

done, Greg. He has just landed on a gold medal. They are Commonwealth

:01:28.:01:36.

champions. That is exactly what England ordered.

:01:37.:01:40.

Great news for England who now top the table.

:01:41.:01:42.

They have one less medal than Australia but they have three more

:01:43.:01:45.

Canada are still third from Scotland and Wales just sit outside

:01:46.:01:51.

Northern Ireland are guaranteed nine medals in the boxing.

:01:52.:02:06.

And already there are medals in the offing at Kelvingrove Park.

:02:07.:02:09.

Over on BBC1 in they are gearing up for the bronze medal match

:02:10.:02:12.

We'll be at Glasgow Green as England's men look to secure

:02:13.:02:18.

progression to the semi-final stage of the hockey

:02:19.:02:20.

It is day two of diving at the Royal Commonwealth Pool

:02:21.:02:30.

in Edinburgh, we'll be seeing the preliminary round

:02:31.:02:33.

And we'll be keeping an eye on the men's individual time trial.

:02:34.:02:45.

David Millar from Scotland is a favourite for gold.

:02:46.:02:51.

But we start with hockey and a big game for England's men.

:02:52.:02:54.

Despite defeat to New Zealand on Tuesday, it still looks good for

:02:55.:02:57.

England reaching the semifinals as long as they don't lose to Canada.

:02:58.:03:00.

Your commentators are Matt Chilton and Sean Kerly.

:03:01.:03:27.

England have conceded only for Mac goals in the three previous round

:03:28.:03:36.

robin preliminary matches. Canada have been more leaky. -- four goals.

:03:37.:03:50.

England will be attacking the gold to our right waving the white shots.

:03:51.:03:57.

They have changed the bottom half to grey shorts and socks. The umpires

:03:58.:04:12.

are ready to go. Canada are just a couple of seconds off the pace.

:04:13.:04:19.

are ready to go. Canada are just a are underway. England are playing

:04:20.:04:20.

Canada, the possession. This is Ashley Jackson

:04:21.:04:54.

for England, he is the penalty corner specialist.

:04:55.:05:21.

Canada are quickly forward when defending.

:05:22.:06:05.

Penalty corner as it came off a red foot. England's first opportunity to

:06:06.:06:13.

get off the mark. Canada are putting pressure on England high up the

:06:14.:06:16.

pitch but that means there are spaces behind. That was a great ball

:06:17.:06:23.

through to Martin. He took his time and picked out a defender fit for

:06:24.:06:25.

the first penalty corner. and picked out a defender fit for

:06:26.:06:38.

defender's foot. That was Jackson

:06:39.:06:49.

The ball was defended by the That was Jackson

:06:50.:07:14.

Jackson. He has scored five goals so far this tournament.

:07:15.:07:24.

I think the umpires are making it clear that they won't take any

:07:25.:07:34.

nonsense. Canada lost a chance for possession because they took the

:07:35.:07:36.

free hit miles away from where they were supposed to.

:07:37.:07:52.

That was good work from Mark Pearson, the number 19. He got

:07:53.:08:37.

himself out of trouble. The service was not as good. That is behind for

:08:38.:08:39.

an England ball. England, I think, have got too much

:08:40.:08:54.

in the locker. They have more skill and they have got Ashley Jackson

:08:55.:08:55.

whose corners have been so good. This is number 202 for David Jameson

:08:56.:09:29.

of Canada. -- cap number 202. That was good work from Barry

:09:30.:10:15.

Middleton, he lifted it up above the red stick. The England captain, such

:10:16.:10:19.

a threat pushing forward. England's enjoying plenty of

:10:20.:11:12.

possession in the first seven minutes of this match.

:11:13.:11:29.

That is a relief of pressure from England. He is noting something he

:11:30.:11:38.

wants to see to the boys at half-time. England are pressuring

:11:39.:11:43.

Canada at the back and the Canadian defence are holding out at the

:11:44.:11:45.

moment. Bouncing ball, not far away from a

:11:46.:11:54.

Canadian stick in the circle. Canadian possession. Both teams have

:11:55.:12:28.

different positions. Canada have two force something if they have any

:12:29.:12:33.

ambition about making the semifinals. Impossible is not the

:12:34.:12:36.

word but it is unlikely. They need eight goals which is a huge ask.

:12:37.:12:43.

England need to limit the damage because they are already through in

:12:44.:12:50.

effect. Parade and setting up a good game in next performance,

:12:51.:12:54.

confidence, it is very important in this tournament.

:12:55.:13:45.

Good work to Canada on the left but it will be England's ball.

:13:46.:13:53.

That is Paul Bundy, assistant coach for Canada on the bench.

:13:54.:14:02.

England had men forward. Simon Mantell winning 132. -- cap number

:14:03.:14:20.

132. I did not like the hate of it across

:14:21.:14:33.

the suckle. It was a dangerous cross. There are some very

:14:34.:14:38.

encouraging one twos into the area. advances, working on possession deep

:14:39.:15:17.

from round the pitch. Barry Middleton flawed... Floored.

:15:18.:15:31.

really. That is Canada's Ball, a chance to rebuild.

:15:32.:16:20.

An attempt to put some pressure on the England defence, good work from

:16:21.:16:29.

Simon Mantell. Catlin, he returns it to Mantell.

:16:30.:16:36.

A swing and a miss, but Catlin is trying to produce something more.

:16:37.:16:42.

Nice turn. To the edges again and behind.

:16:43.:16:46.

That is England at their best, really. That is when the classically

:16:47.:16:52.

attack and with pace. They have fast forwards and a fast midfield and

:16:53.:16:53.

they manage to find lots David Condon, who lives in an

:16:54.:17:03.

attacking position for England now. England, camped out in the Canadian

:17:04.:17:28.

The ball finding its way all the way through, a little deflection, and

:17:29.:17:32.

Michael Hoare, near post, often best to put it across the goal, at least

:17:33.:17:35.

make the goalkeeper save it. to put it across the goal, at least

:17:36.:17:42.

Ho-Garcia unable to to put it across the goal, at least

:17:43.:17:49.

from. No doubt he will be called to put it across the goal, at least

:17:50.:17:51.

forward for some more, or to put it across the goal, at least

:17:52.:17:57.

With the rolling to put it across the goal, at least

:17:58.:18:05.

per game so far, England have done 55, if anyone out there is

:18:06.:18:11.

interested in those kinds of stats. Good from Fox, Middleton unable to

:18:12.:18:18.

make contact, this Good from Fox, Middleton unable to

:18:19.:18:31.

Yes, it ended up in Mark Gleghorne's stick. The ball just

:18:32.:18:36.

pops off his stake, looked like he could not miss. That is unlucky.

:18:37.:18:38.

I think he got a slap could not miss. That is unlucky.

:18:39.:18:42.

as well, from the goalkeeper's padded glove. Elbow.

:18:43.:18:48.

Yes, he has done some damage there, the elbow or wrist.

:18:49.:18:53.

He has gone off the field of play for the moment.

:18:54.:19:16.

Scoreless here, as Canada go higher. It shows how well England are

:19:17.:19:25.

playing defensively at the moment, they are pressing them, cutting out

:19:26.:19:29.

all the midfield passes. There is nothing on for Canada other than

:19:30.:19:33.

just to chop it up the other end and give it back to England. -- chuck it

:19:34.:19:36.

up. England are happy to just pass it

:19:37.:19:51.

around amongst themselves until there is a forward moving

:19:52.:20:02.

opportunity. Lewers forward, Middleton takes it, short pass. Good

:20:03.:20:07.

movement forward this time from Phil Roper. Penalty corner for England.

:20:08.:20:20.

Lewers -- Willars winning that corner for the deliberate foul. He

:20:21.:20:25.

is playing football, isn't he quit you might he cannot do that, that is

:20:26.:20:29.

a deliberate foul, obviously a penalty corner. Number two for

:20:30.:20:34.

England. So, Iain Lewers striding over.

:20:35.:20:47.

Jackson is on the bench, so we have Roper and Catlin.

:20:48.:20:52.

Jackson will have to watch this one. Catlin, number ten, Roper, number

:20:53.:20:58.

15. It is Roper.

:20:59.:20:59.

Saved. Back in the shooting circle, but

:21:00.:21:08.

cleared by Canada. And they are containing England at

:21:09.:21:10.

the moment. Yes, good save from David Carter. He

:21:11.:21:20.

is going to be key for Canada this morning. He has done well this

:21:21.:21:29.

tournament, not let into many goals. England are mounting pressure and

:21:30.:21:31.

you cannot help feeling that in the end something is going to happen.

:21:32.:21:37.

Lewers to his left. Fox goes forward.

:21:38.:21:51.

Yes, the umpire has blown because there is protective gear on the

:21:52.:22:00.

field of play. That is the penalty corner defence

:22:01.:22:05.

kick. They rip it off and chuck it behind,

:22:06.:22:10.

but sometimes it doesn't find where it needs to go, so they have to

:22:11.:22:15.

start with a bully. Canada giving back possession, rightly so, and the

:22:16.:22:20.

game continues. 0-0 into the second quarter of the

:22:21.:22:30.

match. Panesar has possession for Canada. Surrounded by three blue

:22:31.:22:34.

shirts, trying to get a stick on the ball.

:22:35.:22:42.

Some control for Canada, back to Panesar.

:22:43.:22:49.

That is a nice little flick forward, aimed for Curran. He puts his stick

:22:50.:22:57.

on the ground and gets hit in now. Taylor Curran, the Canadian 29.

:22:58.:23:06.

The Canadians must get the basics right if they are to cause England

:23:07.:23:09.

any trouble here as the rain starts to fall. We knew it would come, we

:23:10.:23:14.

hoped it would not come quite so early or a quite so heavily, but it

:23:15.:23:16.

is chucking it down now. Full. A bit of a Canadian sandwich that,

:23:17.:23:33.

one of the players still down, the Canadian number 26, Matthew Guest,

:23:34.:23:36.

has stayed down and I think he is in a bit of distress.

:23:37.:23:45.

Guest has hurt his ribs, I think. Yes, he got a crunch from both sides

:23:46.:23:54.

there. Well, this rain, it makes the pitch

:23:55.:24:04.

a bit more wet and slows it down, and it would necessarily suit

:24:05.:24:07.

England. They like to visit the ball around.

:24:08.:24:10.

There is Jackson! He has gone over the top.

:24:11.:24:13.

That is the second time Jackson has had an opportunity and years kicking

:24:14.:24:19.

himself at the moment. Good boys, good balance -- good poise, he will

:24:20.:24:29.

be hitting himself. The first clear scoring opportunity

:24:30.:24:31.

for Ashley Jackson. That looks like another wrist, that

:24:32.:24:42.

is to wrist -- two wrists. Guest for Canada receiving

:24:43.:24:43.

treatment. Lewers. He has been injecting the

:24:44.:25:07.

penalty corners so far this game for England. Yes, just being patient

:25:08.:25:11.

with the ball, trying to move Canada across the pitch and then find some

:25:12.:25:19.

spaces down on the top of the D. Long run in, looking for a penalty

:25:20.:25:22.

corner parameters behind, it will be a long corner for England to be

:25:23.:25:24.

taken by Harry Martin. The little attempted turn and go for

:25:25.:25:30.

Adam Dixon, but he was held up. High ball. Well controlled by

:25:31.:25:52.

Pereira. Nice touch from him and a good pass, as well. Canada heading

:25:53.:25:58.

towards the D. Jackson back to recover some poise for England and

:25:59.:26:03.

he has made up quite a few metres, Ashley Jackson. He just loses out.

:26:04.:26:12.

Pereira down the left. Just a little too strong.

:26:13.:26:26.

high. Nice move from Lewers, a decent pass

:26:27.:26:56.

to Harry Martin. Martin all the way to the edge and he goes to the

:26:57.:27:00.

corner, around the outside and back into a solid position. Encouraging

:27:01.:27:04.

signs from England. Michael Hoare, back to Ashley Jackson.

:27:05.:27:10.

Good turn from Harry Martin, still going. He gets a shot on goal, but

:27:11.:27:17.

the defence is solid. Jackson looking for the pass a cross. Solid,

:27:18.:27:24.

robust defence all the way through this first half by the Canadians.

:27:25.:27:30.

England putting huge pressure on Canada, they are still yet to break.

:27:31.:27:35.

Eight shots to nil, but they do not count at the end of the game, they

:27:36.:27:41.

need goals. Canada just about hanging on at the moment.

:27:42.:27:44.

I am happy to report that the man who went off with the wrist injury

:27:45.:27:48.

for England, Mark Gleghorne, is poised to return to the field. He

:27:49.:27:52.

has had some treatment and is happy to resume play.

:27:53.:27:59.

There he is, Gleghorne, on the right standing alongside a bit Condon, who

:28:00.:28:06.

is also about to come on. -- David Condon.

:28:07.:28:18.

Lots of communication between the Canadians, but unfortunately for the

:28:19.:28:35.

red shirts the pass was poor. That

:28:36.:28:35.

red shirts the pass was poor. the game.

:28:36.:28:59.

free it this time. What a goal!

:29:00.:29:14.

That is more What a goal!

:29:15.:29:19.

scored by Ashley Jackson. That has been coming for some time

:29:20.:29:21.

now. That has been coming for some time

:29:22.:29:25.

mounting, lovely little bit of work there, Iqbal income he made the move

:29:26.:29:29.

and smashes the ball across. Jackson diving on that reverse stick. Get a

:29:30.:29:36.

beautiful touch, lifts it over the keeper

:29:37.:29:38.

game and England have broken the deadlock.

:29:39.:29:44.

Cracking score by Ashley Jackson, his sixth goal of the tournament. He

:29:45.:29:47.

is having an excellent Commonwealth Games.

:29:48.:29:52.

England one, Canada nil. The last ten minutes of the half.

:29:53.:30:09.

England are off the mark. That it should settle them down. Canada can

:30:10.:30:14.

see the tiny should settle them down. Canada can

:30:15.:30:17.

further into the distance. Canada needed nine goals now.

:30:18.:30:28.

The Canadians will be hoping to get some scoring opportunities in the

:30:29.:30:34.

last nine minutes of this first half.

:30:35.:30:51.

England is trying to push it towards the goal. Canada ball. I thought

:30:52.:31:00.

they had the birdies in there. Canada managed to scramble it away.

:31:01.:31:07.

-- the birdies. So far, George Pinner has had

:31:08.:31:12.

nothing to do in the England goal. Mark Gleghorne was dispossessed and

:31:13.:31:59.

Mark Jackson will take the free hit deep inside Canadian territory.

:32:00.:33:45.

Canada are quite lively down the right-hand side. Good stick control

:33:46.:33:57.

from Curran. That is the best period that Canada have had. They kept

:33:58.:34:00.

possession and strong some passes together. He will miss the next two

:34:01.:34:35.

minutes. He will be back in time for the conclusion of this first car.

:34:36.:34:41.

England should it go and get a penalty corner. -- England shoot.

:34:42.:34:58.

There was plenty of England shorts in the circle to get the rebound.

:34:59.:35:04.

Ashley Jackson is on the field so they can have a go at this. He is

:35:05.:35:14.

the penalty corner specialist. Jackson has already scored from open

:35:15.:35:15.

play. That was just over the top. Quite a

:35:16.:35:31.

way over the top in fact. Perhaps his soul rest is impeding his play.

:35:32.:35:38.

He stood aside and let click on have a shot. Lots of power but very

:35:39.:35:43.

little direction. Canada have just over four minutes

:35:44.:36:05.

to try to get something from this half. That was good stick work.

:36:06.:36:42.

England will hope for another penalty corner and that is what they

:36:43.:36:51.

have got. Canadian foot on the ball. Green card for Canada. England have

:36:52.:36:56.

forced two penalty corner is when they have had only ten players. Some

:36:57.:37:01.

mistakes creeping in. He just overran the ball, Keegan Pereira

:37:02.:37:12.

just putting his foot on it. Very easy for England. England have

:37:13.:37:16.

experimented at the penalty corner stage so far. I wonder who will get

:37:17.:37:22.

a crack at this one? Only one option this time, to Dixon. Jackson, along

:37:23.:37:33.

the turf and behind. They were looking for the deflection for Lewis

:37:34.:37:34.

to get it. Jackson He is quick, Gabriel Hall Garcia. He

:37:35.:38:18.

is 21 and a great prospect for the Canadian team in the future.

:38:19.:38:37.

is 21 and a great prospect for the the last 90 seconds of the half.

:38:38.:38:47.

Jackson will get the free hit. That was a shoulder charge. Alastair

:38:48.:38:55.

Brogdon bullied off the ball. Penalty corner coming for England.

:38:56.:39:02.

Little triangles being played by England, moving the ball across and

:39:03.:39:07.

getting into the circle the opposite way, causing great problems for the

:39:08.:39:14.

Canadian defence. Pressure is beginning to tell and mistakes are

:39:15.:39:17.

coming more regularly in the Canadian defence. The ball jumped up

:39:18.:39:22.

coming more regularly in the each other's way. No joy so far from

:39:23.:39:33.

the penalty corner set piece. This will be the final attack of the

:39:34.:39:34.

half. Still no luck. Missing the target,

:39:35.:39:50.

very unusual for Ashley Jackson. He is being tested. They are 0-5 which

:39:51.:39:57.

That ends the first period of play is pretty unusual.

:39:58.:40:08.

That ends the first period of play here. One single goal separates the

:40:09.:40:16.

two sides. It came from an excellent goal from Ashley Jackson. England

:40:17.:40:20.

1-0 Canada at half-time. We will be back for the second half

:40:21.:40:32.

of that match. We will be catching up on the men's time trial is on the

:40:33.:40:38.

very wet streets of Glasgow. That is why we are inside. Let us take a

:40:39.:40:42.

look at David Millar from Scotland because he is bound to get one of

:40:43.:40:46.

the biggest cheers on the roads today.

:40:47.:40:55.

When you look at your back story, where you have came from, Time out

:40:56.:41:04.

the sport, coming back, it is interesting the way that Scotland

:41:05.:41:06.

approached you and welcome to give back into the sport. In adversity

:41:07.:41:13.

you find your true friends and that is the case with Scotland. They came

:41:14.:41:18.

through and supported me through everything. During my suspension, I

:41:19.:41:23.

spent time in Edinburgh with friends. I realise that I was coming

:41:24.:41:29.

home. It was one place I felt at home because people were so kind to

:41:30.:41:34.

me. It is my home country, my homeland. I feel very proud to be

:41:35.:41:43.

part of team. David Millar is the Commonwealth Games champion and gold

:41:44.:41:49.

medal winner. The first Scot ever to win a gold medal on the road! You

:41:50.:41:56.

have one big races, big stages, time trials. The victory in India, what

:41:57.:42:04.

did it mean? I had not expected it to be as big. I had done the World

:42:05.:42:11.

Championships and finished second. In India, it felt a lot different.

:42:12.:42:17.

It felt honest and real. It felt more sincere. It is the first time I

:42:18.:42:23.

had ever raced in a Scotland jersey and I did not expect the effect it

:42:24.:42:31.

would have on me. To win, it was something very unexpected. The time

:42:32.:42:36.

trial is very different to the one in India, what do you make of the

:42:37.:42:40.

course and the big challenge coming in from Australia and England, it

:42:41.:42:45.

could be no more different from India. One of the hardest I have

:42:46.:42:51.

ever done. Here, I do not think we have got a straight line and it

:42:52.:42:57.

suits me well. It is quite revealing and you cannot picture head down and

:42:58.:43:01.

look at the numbers on your machine. Follow your heart rate and power

:43:02.:43:06.

out. It will be explosive and diverse. It should make a good race.

:43:07.:43:13.

You are retiring at the end of this year, it brings different emotions,

:43:14.:43:19.

doesn't it? I do not know how much difference it makes. I and

:43:20.:43:24.

performance driven here. I trained hard and am feeling good. I am

:43:25.:43:28.

trying to disengage from everything else that is happening. When I found

:43:29.:43:34.

out I would not be doing the tour in France, it made me feel more focused

:43:35.:43:38.

for the right reasons, to be at my best. What will it be like riding

:43:39.:43:47.

around the roads of Glasgow? At the National Championships I had had

:43:48.:43:53.

never had so much support. My family are here. My final race will be in

:43:54.:43:59.

front of the Glaswegian crowd. I have any memories of Glasgow. It is

:44:00.:44:01.

quite poetic and a full circle. It has been a roller-coaster for

:44:02.:44:14.

David Millar. He will be hoping for an easy ride this afternoon and we

:44:15.:44:18.

wish him well. We have been joined by a bronze medal winning wrestler.

:44:19.:44:24.

The first time Scotland won a wrestling medal for over 20 years.

:44:25.:44:29.

Thank you so much for joining us. Has it sunk in yet? Not quite yet.

:44:30.:44:38.

Too soon. It will take a few days. How did you celebrate? It was a

:44:39.:44:42.

quiet night. I try to get some sleep but it did not happen. I was up at

:44:43.:44:48.

five a.m.. It was a big battle but some incredible celebrations. I did

:44:49.:44:56.

not plan to celebrate as such. It was instantaneous. You looked

:44:57.:45:03.

exhausted, wiped out. At that point, I was happy, full of happiness more

:45:04.:45:10.

than anything else. This is very impressive. We do know that your

:45:11.:45:16.

wife, Laura Davies, is a former Scottish gymnast. Has she been

:45:17.:45:21.

helping? No, she was not happy with me with the somersault. She said it

:45:22.:45:29.

was not a perfect ten and I have to practice. I said, you try and do it

:45:30.:45:41.

after a day wrestling! What are your expectations coming

:45:42.:45:45.

into the Commonwealth Games? My expectations were always high, to

:45:46.:45:51.

raise the bar high. There were so many times I came so close, this was

:45:52.:45:58.

a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Whatever will be will be, but I am

:45:59.:46:04.

not going medal -- going away without a medal.

:46:05.:46:07.

You live in Aberdeen sure but you have not always been in Scotland,

:46:08.:46:12.

you are from Moldova. Tell us about how you arrived in Scotland.

:46:13.:46:17.

It has been a long time, almost 16 years. I have to think about it. It

:46:18.:46:22.

has not been an easy ride, to be honest. I came here as a man, almost

:46:23.:46:29.

19, on my own, so obviously I find it difficult settling in. But it did

:46:30.:46:33.

not take me long. After a year or so I moved to Glasgow and met some

:46:34.:46:38.

friends and it happened I fell in love with the beautiful Scottish

:46:39.:46:41.

girl and the rest is history, really.

:46:42.:46:45.

You missed out on Manchester because you did not have a UK passport?

:46:46.:46:49.

Yes, at the time I was a couple of years into it and I was told I could

:46:50.:46:55.

apply and get the passport in time and hopefully compete at Manchester.

:46:56.:47:01.

It was perfect timing, I was 22, but it didn't happen. Looking back on

:47:02.:47:07.

it, I think certain things happen for the right reason. I don't regret

:47:08.:47:12.

it. I have been waiting for a long time to celebrate this and share my

:47:13.:47:19.

happiness with the rest of the folks in Scottish wrestling.

:47:20.:47:25.

You were in Delhi, but then you came out of retirement to come back to

:47:26.:47:28.

Glasgow, is that right? Yes, that is right, and to be honest

:47:29.:47:35.

I was in two minds. After Delhi I did not want to go near a mat as an

:47:36.:47:42.

athlete, at all. I had done everything I thought I could

:47:43.:47:46.

possibly do. I thought I was past my best. But then I had good people

:47:47.:47:54.

around me, like my family, the likes of Vladimir, who has been a friend

:47:55.:48:00.

and a coach who believed in me and said, you still have a lot to give.

:48:01.:48:05.

To be honest, I have a nine-year-old son who has been my biggest fan and

:48:06.:48:12.

he was trying to say to me, why are you coaching, not competing? I tried

:48:13.:48:16.

to explain to him the difficulties of being a coach and an athlete. I

:48:17.:48:22.

did not do so good, and I said, I think I have to do this one more for

:48:23.:48:27.

him than for anyone else. Tell us about the state of wrestling

:48:28.:48:31.

in Scotland. It is obviously huge in the country you came from, Moldova,

:48:32.:48:36.

less so there. It has been great it has been in the Commonwealth Games

:48:37.:48:39.

and there have been a huge crowd in to watch you, but I popular is

:48:40.:48:43.

wrestling becoming in Scotland, do you think?

:48:44.:48:47.

Hopefully after yesterday's and maybe today's events, wrestling will

:48:48.:48:52.

be somewhat more popular. I think it is just a case of getting people

:48:53.:48:59.

educated about the sport itself. There is just not enough coverage or

:49:00.:49:02.

interest. I think it is something to do with culture, when you have so

:49:03.:49:10.

much choice, football is the number-1 sport. We love football,

:49:11.:49:15.

and it is easy to do it, it is accessible. Wrestling is much the

:49:16.:49:20.

same. Any child who grows up, boy or girl, lost to wrestle their brother

:49:21.:49:25.

or sister, it is a natural thing. It is just having access to join a club

:49:26.:49:29.

or being exposed to the moment. That is what we have to excel at

:49:30.:49:34.

Scottish wrestling. Just briefly, you are going back to

:49:35.:49:39.

coach and now that is your career as a wrestler finished?

:49:40.:49:40.

Yes, I think so, I think so. a wrestler finished?

:49:41.:49:44.

stage I could not think of competing a wrestler finished?

:49:45.:49:49.

again on a front stage. People watching me. I think I have done

:49:50.:49:54.

good to end. That is a perfect way to finish.

:49:55.:49:57.

Thank you very much for joining us this morning, it has been lovely to

:51:19.:51:23.

Great fast hands here, two, Canada nil.

:51:24.:51:31.

Middleton gets one trap, doesn't quite get it first time but he is

:51:32.:51:34.

quicker than the Canadian defence and second time round and popped it

:51:35.:51:38.

in the goal. Good pressure from England, this time Canada could not

:52:48.:52:57.

Dixon will take it. Middleton darts inside, pushed

:52:58.:52:58.

behind. Brogdon leaves it for Barry

:52:59.:53:12.

Middleton. He takes it on his own. Still England possession.

:53:13.:53:18.

Brogdon. He keeps the forward momentum going.

:53:19.:53:30.

Middleton asking Jackson to come forward. England switched sides.

:53:31.:53:44.

Fox, high. He is frustrated about that, Dan

:53:45.:53:47.

Fox, because that was a good position to get into. England get

:53:48.:53:51.

stuck on one side under pressure, they move the ball around and find

:53:52.:53:56.

space on the other side. Really manipulating this ball, and this

:53:57.:53:59.

Canadian team really well at the moment.

:54:00.:54:05.

England can build again through Ashley Jackson, the bouncing ball

:54:06.:54:07.

through the centre. Canada with a chance to launch their

:54:08.:54:19.

own attack. Pearson. The helicopter overhead

:54:20.:54:20.

following the time trial. George Pinner lets it go. As George

:54:21.:54:32.

Pinner actually touched the ball yet? I don't think he has.

:54:33.:54:38.

It is a long ball, the chance for England here.

:54:39.:54:43.

Condon's shot, saved. A much brighter start to the second

:54:44.:54:53.

half for England than we saw in the first. Guest weaves his way into

:54:54.:55:00.

England territory. That is when it stops.

:55:01.:55:38.

Good passing, nice and crisp and clean. -- Wharton fires at forward,

:55:39.:55:49.

that was not so crisp and clean. It is up in the centre of the field.

:55:50.:55:59.

David Conlin inside to Catlin. His long ball is too far for Simon

:56:00.:56:04.

Mantell. Lots of rotation is going on and off

:56:05.:56:08.

the pitch at the moment, Canada, particularly, have a high rotation.

:56:09.:56:13.

That is a good tackle. Well played by Scott Tapper, the

:56:14.:56:25.

captain. He has relinquished possession here. This will not

:56:26.:56:31.

matter for England now, they are two goals in front and in an

:56:32.:56:34.

unassailable position as fat as progressing to the semifinals. In

:56:35.:56:38.

the semifinals they will need those passes to count. Yes, they will,

:56:39.:56:42.

they will probably end up playing Australia who have won the other

:56:43.:56:57.

group. Jackson looking for the return ball.

:56:58.:57:02.

Shot on goal but the whistle had gone.

:57:03.:57:08.

Canada are really finding it difficult to keep England at bay at

:57:09.:57:11.

the moment, but they are still hanging on by their fingernails.

:57:12.:57:15.

They are still trying, and the good thing to take out of this is really

:57:16.:57:20.

they are not expecting to win but they have to try and get something

:57:21.:57:22.

out of this. It is great experience for them, they don't get the chance

:57:23.:57:28.

to play at such high-level Games very often. The Commonwealth Games

:57:29.:57:38.

is a good environment for that. Panesar tangling with Harry Martin.

:57:39.:57:43.

Free hit taken again. The Canadians in the England D.

:57:44.:57:57.

Iain Smythe takes the long corner always back. Martin asking for it on

:57:58.:58:03.

the right-hand side for Canada. Only as far as Middleton, who has

:58:04.:58:15.

just watched that drift behind. It was the right ball. Canada left

:58:16.:58:21.

that side free for a runner, but the timing is not quite there for Canada

:58:22.:58:26.

at the moment. They are getting a bit tired, they are having to do a

:58:27.:58:32.

lot of the chasing in this game. Weir loses out to Tupper, but gets

:58:33.:58:38.

possession for England. Weir again, chance to dart inside,

:58:39.:58:53.

nice play, until the pass, which was too short for David Condon.

:58:54.:59:09.

Wright's high well-controlled. -- Tupper's highball.

:59:10.:59:28.

Hildreth takes it for Canada and there is a little

:59:29.:59:30.

Hildreth takes it for bit of niggle in the circle, which is being dealt

:59:31.:59:34.

with by the umpire. Canada, all the way back to the

:59:35.:59:40.

halfway line and behind. Tupper. Roper chasing him all the

:59:41.:59:45.

:05:15.:05:26.

They do not seem to be as alert as they have been. He is looking very

:05:27.:05:33.

concerned and disappointed with what is coming out of the game and a

:05:34.:05:38.

number of errors that Canada are making. England only have two Mac

:05:39.:05:42.

goals from the 17 opportunities. Canada have yet to do anything.

:05:43.:06:13.

Busy second for Harry Martin. Over the top, penalty corner for England.

:06:14.:06:23.

That last 30 seconds, that was the intensity that England need to play

:06:24.:06:27.

with all of the game. It is the instructions the culture is trying

:06:28.:06:30.

to get to his team. That came off the foot. That is the intensity the

:06:31.:06:41.

court requires his team to play with. England get to school from a

:06:42.:06:46.

penalty corner. They have had a few attempts at various options. Maybe

:06:47.:06:50.

Ashley Jackson will fancy his chances.

:06:51.:07:05.

That was bravely defended and painfully so by Paul Wharton. Still

:07:06.:07:16.

no luck from the penalty corner for England.

:07:17.:07:24.

He took one on the body for his team.

:07:25.:07:45.

He had a bit of a three legged race with one of the Canadians.

:07:46.:07:55.

Penalty corner. That'll do for England. Brilliant individual

:07:56.:08:09.

skills. Nick Catlin was able to get past all the players that were

:08:10.:08:14.

around him. He has worked hard on his kills full -- on his skills. Rpm

:08:31.:08:35.

We have another change of injection duties for England. This time Nick

:08:36.:08:49.

Catlin will inject. It is Jackson who plant sit in the top corner.

:08:50.:08:54.

Beautifully done. England 3-0 Canada. That is the first time that

:08:55.:09:05.

England have managed to get a quick ball out, stopped quickly and

:09:06.:09:09.

Jackson has the time to put the ball in the goalkeeper 's top right-hand

:09:10.:09:22.

corner. Beautiful straight. Ashley Jacksonpos-mac seventh goal of the

:09:23.:09:24.

tournament and his second of the scheme.

:09:25.:09:47.

Just under 16 minutes to play. England will face Australia in the

:09:48.:10:09.

semifinals. It will be tough. Australia have won all of the

:10:10.:10:14.

Commonwealth gold medals in the men's hockey since Malaysia in 1998

:10:15.:10:23.

when it was introduced. Four gold medals for Australia. And they are

:10:24.:10:27.

England's next opponents in the semifinal knockout stages of this

:10:28.:10:41.

Glasgow hockey tournament. The other semifinal likely to see New Zealand

That came off his foot. play that off your backside.

:14:20.:14:50.

Andy yellow card has been shown. A further reduction in numbers for

:14:51.:14:59.

Canada. A five-minute sit down. There is the man who has to sit down

:15:00.:15:30.

for five minutes, Iain Smythe. They are getting tired and England are

:15:31.:15:33.

beginning to dominate them some more.

:15:34.:16:01.

Jackson. England with plenty of options here. Penalty corner. It

:16:02.:16:17.

looked like a penalty corner, the umpire shaped as if to call it then

:16:18.:16:21.

put his hands down. He changed his mind. -- the umpire shook.

:16:22.:16:36.

That was for the yellow card. Iain Smythe barging Harry Martin out of

:16:37.:16:44.

the way. Johnston for Canada, sends it deep

:16:45.:16:58.

into his own half. The Canadian defender, harassed now by Barry

Middleton, the England captain. Canada will do well to escape from

:17:03.:17:12.

this, but they have not got very far. Off the foot, Canada ball.

:17:13.:17:18.

England can afford to push up, they have a spare man at the back.

:17:19.:17:29.

Great work from Dixon. He has covered two thirds of the length of

:17:30.:17:36.

the pitch before he just ran out of steam.

:17:37.:17:44.

Good interception from Ashley Jackson. England three, Canada

:17:45.:17:53.

neo-con eight minutes to play. Jackson taking it all the way into

:17:54.:17:59.

Canadian territory. Harry Martin, feeds it back...

Canada are there to control. Licking forehead foot on the ball here,

:18:11.:18:23.

Dixon finds Jackson. And Jackson finds his own foot. But

:18:24.:18:33.

England are still battling against this packed defence. Not a lot of

:18:34.:18:38.

space in the back there when it is tight, everyone is back in their own

:18:39.:18:45.

D. It is the skills of Jackson and Barry Middleton that have unlocked

:18:46.:18:46.

it so far. Martin on the right.

:18:47.:19:11.

Highball coming downfield from Michael Hoare.

:19:12.:19:23.

Canada still a man down, Smythe still on the bench in the sin bin,

:19:24.:19:33.

as Curran takes control for Canada on the right-hand side.

:19:34.:19:40.

Jameson spread it around. The Canadian defenders are immediately

:19:41.:19:41.

under pressure. Smythe is by Colin now, his five

:19:42.:20:12.

minutes detention is over. -- is back on now. Backhand shot kicked

:20:13.:20:18.

away. George Pinner taking no chances. He had to kick that, didn't

:20:19.:20:24.

he quit you might he has not touched the ball for such a long time, could

:20:25.:20:28.

have left it, decided to take the ball.

:20:29.:20:32.

Another backhand shot in, high this time. Iain Lewers listed over the

:20:33.:20:42.

top -- lifts it over the top. Gleghorne chasing him all the way

:20:43.:20:48.

upfield. Gleghorne makes this steel, well

:20:49.:20:50.

played, Mark Gleghorne. Martin.

:20:51.:21:06.

Hoare on the right-hand side. Dixon. Lewers. Too strong for Jackson.

:21:07.:21:12.

Frustrating little errors for England. It is breaking up their

:21:13.:21:21.

pattern of play a little bit. They are having a lot of possession

:21:22.:21:25.

and they are still finding it hard to get many returns. They have

:21:26.:21:32.

scored three goals, but they have had a lot of chances.

:21:33.:21:39.

That is good pick-up. Froese for Canada into the D, draws

:21:40.:21:44.

it back, swing and a miss. Penalty corner. Canada have been happy to

:21:45.:21:48.

let that go and score the goal when they get the penalty corner.

:21:49.:21:52.

Less than four minutes of the match to play.

:21:53.:21:58.

Good work by Canada, space in behind and made England pay. Just could not

:21:59.:22:02.

get this tap should there which is what they were looking for, but the

:22:03.:22:10.

penalty corner was awarded, the ball off Dixon's foot there. He could

:22:11.:22:19.

have played advantage there. Yes, Richard Hildreth with the final

:22:20.:22:23.

touch before it hits the back of the net but it won't count.

:22:24.:22:31.

It is Froese. Tupper waiting. It is Tapper!

:22:32.:22:40.

-- Tupper! Well, something for Pinner to do.

:22:41.:22:49.

The danger not entirely averted here for England. There is another one

:22:50.:22:52.

coming for Canada here, second penalty corner. George Pinner gets

something else to do now, but not that you will mind. Canada are doing

:23:00.:23:04.

well, good skill on the foot. George Pinner saved the first

:23:05.:23:21.

penalty corner attempt. Canada have another one now.

:23:22.:23:32.

Maybe a change of personnel here for Canada.

:23:33.:23:36.

It is Tupper again and that is an excellent goal. Terrific drag flick

:23:37.:23:42.

from the Canadian captain, Scott Tupper. And with two minutes to go

:23:43.:23:49.

they pulled one back. Pinner thinks that is going to the

:23:50.:23:52.

right where there is no man on the line, just makes a tiny adjustment

:23:53.:23:57.

but Tupper flies that in with real pace. Pinner is not

:24:57.:25:01.

a penalty corner, well played. Well, good reply to that earlier

:25:02.:25:06.

lapse by England. Henry Weir doing some good work, showing his skill at

:25:07.:25:11.

the top of the circle there, again just looking for that foot. Pereira

:25:12.:25:18.

just committing forward with the planted foot, it is a big target.

:25:19.:25:21.

Yes, well played, Henry Weir. planted foot, it is a big target.

the foot, and is the penalty corner for England. It will be the last

:25:28.:25:36.

play of the match. Catlin is up. Condon is there, Jackson as well.

:25:37.:25:42.

Michael Hoare, the number 12. You'll recall, England's penalty

:25:43.:25:42.

corner. It is Jackson!

:25:43.:26:03.

Another penalty corner for England. Wharton ran down the line again and

:26:04.:26:07.

got hit again. Every time he has run out to Jackson he has got hit.

:26:08.:26:11.

He is the tallest player on the field.

Six foot four. He gets in the face of Jackson, he gets in the face of

Jackson, he's is doing a good job but I reckon he is going to be

Catlin, Roper, Gleghorne and Jackson lined up.

:26:39.:26:54.

and behind and that concludes the final match with the scoreline in

:26:55.:27:00.

favour of England, they have beaten Canada 3-0.

:27:01.:27:14.

Dominant performance by England, really, but a bit disappointing in

:27:15.:27:24.

many ways. Giving the ball away a bit too much and just chipping that

:27:25.:27:28.

one goal, but the real problem for them was not getting the return they

:27:29.:27:32.

should really get from the opportunities they created. They

:27:33.:27:35.

moved the ball around well, worked well, but Canada fought hard and

:27:36.:27:39.

made it very difficult for England. They defended really well in their

:27:40.:27:45.

own D, digging the ball out many times, but England were too strong

:27:46.:27:48.

for them. Although this was a bit of a dead game, really, not a lot on it

:27:49.:27:53.

from England's point of view, they just had to get a draw or not lose

:27:54.:28:00.

by less than eight, it was a victory that they needed.

:28:01.:28:06.

Two goals for Ashley Jackson, one for Barry Middleton. Canada replied

:28:07.:28:13.

late in the second half with the penalty corner scored by their

:28:14.:28:18.

captain, Scott Tupper. Look at that, 23 shots, only three

:28:19.:28:24.

goals. That is not a great return. England are through to the

:28:25.:28:28.

semifinals. They will then face the mighty Australia. The defending

:28:29.:28:30.

champions. STUDIO: Congratulations to England

home to the rowing club. This is a stretch of water where I first got

:30:22.:30:26.

into a boat. I have not looked back since. Just across the street in the

:30:27.:30:39.

East End of Glasgow is the Barras. In the 1960s, it was a popular

:30:40.:30:44.

ballroom. It was transformed into one of the most popular concert

:30:45.:30:51.

venues in the world. Local acts from Dell Nietzsche, Deacon blue and even

:30:52.:31:05.

Lulu began there -- Del Amitri. It is tradition in Glasgow to put a

traffic cone on the head of the Duke of Wellington statue. The cone was

painted gold when I won the gold medal. Glasgow University is the

fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. It played a

crucial role in the 18th century Scottish Enlightenment. It dominates

famous. The Commonwealth Games has came here and it has brought the

:32:37.:32:37.

lawn bowls with it. It certainly is a beautiful city. It

:32:38.:32:52.

is time to see what you have been up to in Glasgow 2014. It is the famous

:33:25.:33:35.

Viorel Etko. I am delighted to say that the interview with Craig was so

:33:36.:33:38.

good, he has came back for more today. Last night on BBC One, you

:33:39.:33:47.

did some dancing. I always wanted the opportunity to moonwalk on a red

:33:48.:33:52.

carpet. To do it live on television... You have never done it

:33:53.:33:56.

before? Never. I have practised it in my front room. I want thank the

:33:57.:34:04.

BBC. There is plenty of fantastic gymnastics especially over the last

:34:05.:34:09.

24 hours, it has been incredible. Let us take a look at how the

:34:10.:34:17.

here is the men's individual all-around final.

:34:18.:34:28.

Superb. Starting is all-around competition in the way that he

:34:29.:34:40.

wanted. Pommel horse is a great leveller but to him it is just

:34:41.:34:46.

another piece of apparatus. That is world class from Daniel Keatings.

:34:47.:34:54.

Look at his smile. He is looking unaffected by everything that is

:34:55.:34:58.

going on around him. The leaders so far, Max Whitlock. How important is

:34:59.:35:06.

this bolt for Scotland? Daniel Keatings, it is good enough for him.

:35:07.:35:13.

this bolt for Scotland? Daniel Very good. Medal could well be

:35:14.:35:25.

within reach. He really is focused. He is looking so classy. It couldn't

:35:26.:35:45.

have been any better. Yes, he says. He has absolutely nailed all six

:35:46.:35:48.

pieces of apparatus and Max Whitlock has landed on a gold medal.

:35:49.:35:56.

What an incredible day it was. We have got an umbrella.

:35:57.:36:02.

What an incredible day it was. We was indecisive but there was nothing

:36:03.:36:05.

indecisive about Max Whitlock. He was so consistent. He is such a

:36:06.:36:12.

great all-rounder. It is not like he has one piece of apparatus that lets

:36:13.:36:13.

him down. He is amazing has one piece of apparatus that lets

:36:14.:36:18.

them. This is where he started off so well. It was almost faultless

:36:19.:36:23.

across everything. The so well. It was almost faultless

:36:24.:36:26.

strong for him. He then went on to the pommel horse. He led all the way

:36:27.:36:32.

around the competition. That was so impressive. I think he was top

:36:33.:36:35.

scorer on four of the apparatus. impressive. I think he was top

:36:36.:36:43.

crowd were going crazy every time he came out. It did not matter where

:36:44.:36:47.

they came from even though it came out. It did not matter where

:36:48.:36:48.

Scottish crowd, came out. It did not matter where

:36:49.:36:54.

against Daniel Keatings, they were appreciating something special. What

:36:55.:36:57.

is really nice about the Commonwealth Games, I was talking to

:36:58.:37:00.

my coaches with the team in Manchester, it seems so friendly but

:37:01.:37:07.

back in Manchester it was the same. The Home Nations support is

:37:08.:37:14.

fantastic. Was he to points ahead? He could have afforded to false on

:37:15.:37:19.

that piece of apparatus. It can be quite difficult knowing

:37:20.:37:22.

that piece of apparatus. It can be have got that gap. He must have got

:37:23.:37:27.

that gap. He must've in the bag. He did not hang back. It was not a

:37:28.:37:31.

comfortable ride, he still went out there to do everything he wanted do.

:37:32.:37:37.

That is what makes him such a good coach. In the qualification for the

:37:38.:37:47.

pommel horse, he was up against Lewis Smith. Louis Smith did an easy

:37:48.:37:51.

routine to get into the final. Max went for broke and nearly fell off.

:37:52.:37:57.

He is such a fighter. It makes an exciting to watch and why he is so

:37:58.:38:04.

popular with the fans. Great entertainment and great for

:38:05.:38:08.

gymnastics. Great for Scotland getting the silver medal. That is

:38:09.:38:12.

Scotland's first individual all-around medal with Daniel

:38:13.:38:16.

Keatings. He has had a rocky road over the years. He missed out on

:38:17.:38:21.

London 2012. Some people felt that he should've been in the team in

:38:22.:38:25.

London. It was special for him to come back and perform on home soil.

:38:26.:38:30.

What was the reason he was not? It was injury. People felt it was too

:38:31.:38:40.

early the London games. Maybe some Holden just edged him out. What a

:38:41.:38:45.

comeback. He performed fantastically yesterday. I am so proud for him and

:38:46.:38:50.

his coach. They have done such a great job and great for Scottish

:38:51.:38:55.

gymnastics. You would not guess that he was feeling pressure in front of

:38:56.:38:59.

the home crowd. He performed quite shakily on the first day but that is

:39:00.:39:04.

the merits of stepping out. It is expectation. I remember when I came

:39:05.:39:08.

out in Manchester, just a stones throw from where I born, from the

:39:09.:39:13.

nails and adrenaline I could barely feel my legs. I think he performed

:39:14.:39:19.

so much better in the all-around competition. He has to go

:39:20.:39:26.

head-to-head with Macs and Louis Smith in that pommel horse final

:39:27.:39:34.

today. First senior competition, 18 years old. What I like about him is

:39:35.:39:39.

he is a great all-rounder. It is not as much, -- expectation and pressure

:39:40.:39:47.

on him. People were wondering who is Nile Hudson. He is the most

:39:48.:39:51.

successful European junior gymnast that we have ever had. He is the

:39:52.:39:57.

junior European champion in the team and in the individuals, he won three

:39:58.:40:03.

apparatus. He is somebody for the future and in Brazil in 2016, he is

:40:04.:40:09.

going to be on the money. At yesterday, after competition, Max

:40:10.:40:13.

Whitlock was so complimentary about Nigel Hudson. It is nice to get that

:40:14.:40:25.

recognition. I think that is what makes Macs so likeable as a

:40:26.:40:29.

character. He does some amazing stuff but he is modest. What do you

:40:30.:40:42.

think about that, absolutely amazing. He felt it would not be

:40:43.:40:46.

long before the other guys are doing the troubled West. That is why he is

:40:47.:40:55.

such a favourite. He is very humble. What does that mean for the depth of

:40:56.:41:00.

men's gymnastics in the UK? It just goes to prove that what happened in

:41:01.:41:06.

London was not a fluke. We seem to be building on result after result,

:41:07.:41:12.

after result. It is taking a while to come. A sport like gymnastics is

:41:13.:41:16.

not something you can practice in the back garden. We have had lottery

:41:17.:41:20.

funding for about ten years and it is starting to pay off. What I hope

:41:21.:41:26.

is that the lottery funding goes to all sports. Gymnastics has proven

:41:27.:41:33.

what you can do with that support. Gymnastics has probably been the

:41:34.:41:37.

best -- more successful sport in Great Britain over the past few

:41:38.:41:41.

years. It was not just the men that were going for gold yesterday, the

:41:42.:41:42.

women were at it too. Going for the big double twist. Not

:41:43.:42:06.

a problem. Real mature performance. Cracking the team from her. Very

:42:07.:42:18.

nice work. The crowd here are lovingly performance. Absolutely

:42:19.:42:25.

first class. The women's competition was really

:42:26.:42:39.

interesting because while we were saying that the men were almost

:42:40.:42:44.

faultless, the women were not. It created some interesting

:42:45.:42:47.

mathematics. Once that was out the way, it was just fascinating and

:42:48.:42:51.

almost never lacking to be sitting at home watching it. You should try

:42:52.:42:56.

being in the hydro trying to commentate on it. It was

:42:57.:43:02.

nail-biting. We had enquiries from the English coach, the Canadian

:43:03.:43:07.

coach, the enquiries were rejected. The leaderboard swapped a couple of

:43:08.:43:12.

times. It was so impressive. I said at the start that we could have the

:43:13.:43:19.

first ever England one, two, three. It did shift but it ended up that

:43:20.:43:26.

way. We can to -- take a look at the bronze medal winner. When they were

:43:27.:43:35.

good, they were very good. The beam is always the tricky apparatus.

:43:36.:43:40.

Hannah is very good on the bars. It is one of our strongest PCs. The

:43:41.:43:56.

others are coming in. -- nerves. Knowing that you are in first place

:43:57.:44:05.

has an effect on your performance. That meant that it was Ruby Harrold

:44:06.:44:11.

that took silver. It was tight. Points were changing all the time.

:44:12.:44:19.

She had a very powerful portal stop double twist. Very difficult. --

:44:20.:44:34.

powerful vault. She had the front somersault on the beam. Very

:44:35.:44:39.

difficult. It is really difficult to compose yourself at that moment in

:44:40.:44:43.

time. Going through her mind would be that the medal had gone out of

:44:44.:44:47.

the window. That is the first thing that hits you. You have to get back

:44:48.:44:51.

up there and perform a floor routine. The floor routine is all

:44:52.:44:58.

about smiling and having a happy face but the Dome, I do not feel

:44:59.:45:03.

happy right now. To go out and deliver is a credit, not only to

:45:04.:45:07.

her, but at the coaches who have supported her. That left the baby of

:45:08.:45:17.

the team, Claudia. She is an incredible story anyway. Afterwards,

:45:18.:45:22.

when she had done the routines, she had a bit of a fall, as well, but

:45:23.:45:26.

the emotion came out of all three girls, didn't it? Yes, that is the

:45:27.:45:31.

first time I have seen the other gymnasts in competition jumping up

:45:32.:45:35.

and down in support. I don't know whether I have nicked

:45:36.:45:43.

named her, but she is definitely the pocket rocket. -- nicknamed. She is

:45:44.:45:45.

so suited to the pocket rocket. -- nicknamed. She is

:45:46.:45:53.

is so compact and powerful. You could see on the beam, she wanted to

:45:54.:45:58.

stay on. They fight like mad, obviously hit the floor and back

:45:59.:46:02.

on. She was holding her side and I was praying

:46:03.:46:06.

on. She was holding her side and I That was the difference between her

:46:07.:46:08.

and Ruby, because Ruby came off clean and she looked like she caught

:46:09.:46:11.

herself. To go on and do this, if you are

:46:12.:46:15.

carrying even a slight bruise, you are going to feel it.

:46:16.:46:19.

And let's not underestimate how difficult her floor routine is. It

:46:20.:46:23.

is a routine that could match the tunnelling of the guys. Full

:46:24.:46:26.

twisting double back straight, they are the things I was training but

:46:27.:46:30.

never good enough to go into a routine. She is so busy. You can see

:46:31.:46:35.

it at the end, the emotion of that routine. She is so busy. You can see

:46:36.:46:38.

it at the end, I think that is what is so great about sport, not just in

:46:39.:46:41.

our sticks. We have seen that emotion throughout the Games. These

:46:42.:46:46.

athletes train for years and years to get to that moment and it all

:46:47.:46:50.

comes out. We saw Lewis am -- Louis Smith crying in the Olympics in the

:46:51.:46:57.

qualification and I don't think people realise what was into that

:46:58.:47:01.

performance. It would be really nice to see them there on the screen,

:47:02.:47:05.

being on the rostrum with their team-mates and going, yes, we have

being on the rostrum with their done it, and making history.

:49:22.:49:28.

COMMENTATOR: Good start from the English pair.

:49:29.:49:35.

Well, that is why he is so highly ranked in the world.

:49:36.:49:45.

An absolute peach of the backhand from the English number one.

:51:19.:52:01.

Pitchford! It is only 9:35am local time but that was the Kiwi 's'

:52:02.:52:06.

wake-up call. They have had a few of them so far. -- the Kiwis' wake-up

:52:07.:52:09.

call. He goes long and the English pair in

:52:10.:52:35.

control here. There is Alan Cooke, the English coach in charge of this

:52:36.:52:37.

team. Just makes that I can flick look so

:52:38.:52:57.

effortless. It is causing the Kiwis no end of trouble. Two points away

:52:58.:53:04.

from securing a one-game lead. Tin-Tin Ho serving.

:53:05.:53:10.

They do not have too much experience as a pairing, Pitchford and Ho. This

:53:11.:53:16.

is invaluable experience for both. So, five-game points. Karen Li to

:53:17.:53:27.

serve. Well, you do not have to hit it hard

:53:28.:53:42.

when you can place it as well as that.

:53:43.:54:12.

Yes! It was not the worst return in the world from Ten-Ten Liu, but this

:54:13.:54:24.

was a bullet. In fact, he has been firing rubber bullets all morning.

:54:25.:54:32.

That is a good riposte from Ten-Ten Liu.

:54:33.:54:55.

Serving to no man's land. Put away with that backhand flick

:54:56.:54:56.

again by Pitchford, so dangerous. Just caught the top of the net. The

:54:57.:55:09.

players are entitled to towel down every six points.

:55:10.:55:49.

Justice Leitch -- just the slight edge here for Pitchford and Ho.

:55:50.:55:59.

Both of the New Zealanders are very highly ranked. Liu Ten-Ten 245,

:56:00.:56:29.

Karen Li 283 in the world. This was their going to be a cakewalk. --

:56:30.:56:32.

this was never going to be. She has got in with that serve a

couple of times, Tin-Tin Ho. She has a brother called Ping.

:56:38.:56:55.

is called Tin-Tin because of table tennis, her dad is table tennis mad.

:56:56.:57:12.

Well, really good teamwork that from the English pair. A critical

:57:13.:57:19.

in this game. They certainly have the New Zealanders moving around.

:57:20.:57:23.

The footwork is the New Zealanders moving around.

doubles, get out the way of your partner.

:57:28.:57:29.

There is another point for Pitchford and Ho.

:57:30.:57:56.

I hint of recovery here from the Kiwis. Back on level terms at it-8.

:57:57.:58:05.

-- 8-8. That was a shot. There was a space

:58:06.:58:28.

to play it, she picked it wide. The recovery shows every sign of growing

:58:29.:58:31.

your for New Zealand. Just edging in front in this second game.

:58:32.:58:37.

You can see it was a big gap to land that backhand. 9-8.

:58:38.:58:45.

Massive points at 9-9 in this second game.

range. Need to stay in the game, otherwise it will be curtains. She

:00:19.:00:30.

is into the third round of the women's singles, she beat the

:00:31.:00:38.

Malaysian yesterday. What a great start to this third game for the

:00:39.:00:43.

English pair. New Zealand have taken a time out. It is not surprising.

:00:44.:00:49.

There is no real understanding between the two New Zealanders, is

:00:50.:01:40.

there? One of the rules is that the ball comes back from where it games

:01:41.:01:46.

to allow the players to get across. He hasn't missed too many so far

:01:47.:02:05.

this morning. We mentioned his backhand but his forehand is pretty

:02:06.:02:11.

useful as well. Look at this. There is no chance for Liu Tengteng to get

:02:12.:02:17.

across. That was well gambled. He saw the dummy that Liam Pitchford

:02:18.:02:24.

was going to sell him. He gambled and made it. They have to gamble

:02:25.:02:25.

now. Some distance between them again.

:02:26.:03:19.

7-4. I think some observers expected New Zealand to give the English pair

:03:20.:03:25.

a real work out today. Possibly even beat them. It has not turned out

:03:26.:03:30.

that way so far. They are just a few points away from the match here. You

:03:31.:03:40.

cannot play it short to the backhand of Pitchford and expect to get away

:03:41.:04:03.

with it. Karen Li, you feel, as to hold both of these Serbs. So, five

:04:04.:04:14.

match points for Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho. -- both of these

:04:15.:04:35.

services. Four match points left. The next two are on the Pitchford

:04:36.:04:52.

server. Sometimes getting over the line is the hardest part. Three

:04:53.:05:01.

saved by the Kiwis. I think Alan Cooke may well take a time out here.

:05:02.:05:08.

Didn't like that run of three successive points by New Zealand.

:05:09.:05:15.

Decides to have a chat with Liam and Tin-Tin Ho. It is a good return from

:05:16.:05:36.

Liu Tengteng. Straight away, the time-out signalled by the English

:05:37.:05:47.

coach. That was interesting. Don't expect them to give you the point,

:05:48.:05:53.

he said. I could hear him quite quickly. Service Pack with New

:05:54.:06:07.

Zealand. Liu Tengteng to Tin-Tin Ho. That is a great performance! In

:06:08.:06:13.

straight games Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho are through to the

:06:14.:06:17.

quarterfinals of the Mixed Doubles. They have beaten Liu Tengteng and

:06:18.:06:23.

Karen Li quite comprehensively. Just a bit of a stumble in the last game.

result for Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho. Tin-Tin Ho was named by

:08:40.:09:18.

her father because he was keen to get the initials of table tennis

:09:19.:09:24.

into her name. In the women's doubles, the Northern Ireland parent

:09:25.:09:29.

of Hannah Lynch Dawson and Emma Ludlow have been taking on Pakistan.

:09:30.:09:45.

Let's take a look. The Pakistan pairing serving first. It is

:09:46.:09:57.

normally one of Emma Ludlow's favourite shorts. This is the second

:09:58.:10:33.

normally one of Emma Ludlow's different competitions. Ah, yes.

:10:34.:10:37.

normally one of Emma Ludlow's Very straightforward. It was a good

:10:38.:10:39.

served by Lynch-Dawson. The three points that the Pakistan

:10:40.:11:11.

pairing have one so far have all been errors from the Northern Irish

:11:12.:11:25.

duo. They will take them. This time it was Lynch-Dawson landing a

:11:26.:11:45.

forehand killer blow. A shake of the head from the 16-year-old. She

:11:46.:12:24.

hasn't quite settled yet. Emma Ludlow did very well to react to the

:12:25.:12:29.

net cord. Enough time to rock back and make the forehand a winning one.

:12:30.:12:41.

Tighter than many expected. 6-6. Sheikh Abeera to serve.

:12:42.:13:11.

So the Pakistan pair have sneaked in front here. The applause coming from

:13:12.:13:36.

the other table. Best rally of the match. Sheikh Abeera just missed.

:13:37.:13:49.

You can see the frustration. Twirling her but in the air. Now,

:13:50.:14:05.

Lynch-Dawson makes the error. That was an open invitation that was

:14:06.:14:11.

never going to be refused. The smash from Emma Ludlow gives the Northern

:14:12.:14:19.

Irish pair game point. A slightly fortunate way to win it but they do

:14:20.:14:26.

by 11-9. They had a few scares along the way. Plenty of errors from both

:14:27.:14:32.

teams. In the end, Lynch-Dawson and Ludlow are one game to the good. A

:14:33.:15:18.

good start for the Pakistan pair. In the second game, three points to the

:15:19.:15:19.

good. That was a giveaway off the serve.

:15:20.:15:35.

Will that give the Irish girls lift? Point goes to Pakistan because the

:15:36.:15:38.

serve was not in the opposite quarter. Well, that will make

:15:39.:15:46.

Lynch-Dawson feel a lot better. The first really positive blow that she

:15:47.:15:51.

has landed. Just to remind you, you have to serve to the opposite

:15:52.:15:59.

quarter. Otherwise your opponent will get a point. You also have to

:16:00.:16:02.

hit the ball alternately. Just did not quite get that topspin forehand

:16:03.:16:05.

right. Oh, they have done really well

:16:06.:16:53.

there, the Pakistan pair. The comeback could be on here.

:16:54.:17:26.

Ludlow serving. Much better forehand from Lynch-Dawson.

:17:27.:18:00.

Well, that was almost too easy, wasn't it?! Rossi hitting the

:18:01.:18:08.

forehand. Well, it is close again now. Ludlow

:18:09.:18:25.

forcing the error. And they are on terms, fixed to another beauty from

:18:26.:18:37.

Ludlow. And from a mile behind, they You

:18:38.:20:48.

would get four runs for that in cricket usually. It is tight again

:20:49.:21:23.

in Game three. Just occasionally she has shown a glimpse of great

:21:24.:21:34.

technique. A very nervy start. A whipped forehand straight back from

:21:35.:21:40.

where it came. That was pretty useful from Ludlow as well.

:21:41.:22:09.

where it came. That was pretty meant that. Absolutely drilled it.

:22:10.:22:24.

Write down the middle. Very hard. That is a total giveaway. They just

:22:25.:22:28.

seem to be losing a little bit of heart here. That was a much better

:22:29.:23:00.

return. Too many errors from Babar Farwa and Sheikh Abeera. Those for

:23:01.:23:07.

the glory shot and cannot land it. Still a bit of work to do. Babar

:23:08.:23:19.

Farwa serving to Lynch-Dawson. Knocked off her feet, Babar Farwa.

:23:20.:23:31.

Three match points before the pair from Northern Ireland. Did really

:23:32.:23:40.

well to stay in that. Keeping their hopes alive of what would be a

:23:41.:23:57.

dramatic comeback. Still two match points. And that is indeed the end

:23:58.:24:07.

of it. 11-8 in the third game. In less than 20 minutes, Hammer Lynch

:24:08.:24:19.

Dawson and Emma Ludlow have defeated Babar Farwa and Sheikh Abeera in

:24:20.:24:24.

straight games. -- Hannah Lynch Dawson. A good win for the

:24:25.:24:35.

16-year-old and the 18-year-old. Valuable experience and they will

:24:36.:24:39.

get at least one more round. They are through.

:24:40.:24:44.

Well done to the girls from Northern Ireland. Earlier on, there was a big

:24:45.:24:55.

bronze medal match in the balls. We can see Kelvingrove there through a

:24:56.:25:04.

haze of rain. We join it in the final end with the score 12-12. He

:25:05.:25:10.

has tried to reach up through the middle for the Jack. And he has done

:25:11.:25:33.

it! He got to edges, to be fair. Without the edge, he had the jack

:25:34.:25:37.

and that would have been a whole lot different. Really good sportsmanship

:25:38.:25:51.

out there. But to be fair, missing that bowl, the jack was in the

:25:52.:25:57.

ditch. At least the game is still alive for England. Another one up

:25:58.:26:11.

there in behind would be a very good position. Very handy indeed. That is

:26:12.:26:37.

a good effort. Anything back there is useful. We all know that Paul is

:26:38.:26:50.

a very good player. Kevin Wallace might think it is time to protect

:26:51.:26:58.

this. Anything up to the jack or just short of it would be good.

:26:59.:27:22.

It will be a little short. Really not in the line. It won't affect the

:27:23.:27:36.

next short. Weight would have been the issue for him. He really wanted

:27:37.:27:44.

to leave it in line. It is very much an open jack for Paul Brown. Looking

:27:45.:28:00.

for the jack in the ditch. More than competent at this shot. We have seen

:28:01.:28:13.

it before. So, they are looking at it. He is close. Has he got the

:28:14.:28:27.

jack? He has. There is another bowl lurking around. We will have to find

:28:28.:28:37.

out. Played perfectly. Getting that jack back into the ditch. More

:28:38.:28:44.

importantly, he pushed the red fish through. Without pushing that

:28:45.:28:47.

through, it could have been against him. So, one bowl to save the match.

:28:48.:29:12.

Just dropped in. Scotland just fail with their last delivery. What a

:29:13.:29:26.

fantastic game. Time for some more live sport. We are going to head to

:29:27.:29:33.

Scotstoun for some squash. The men's doubles, Scotland taking on India.

:29:34.:29:40.

Your commentary comes from Sue Rose and Martin Heath. COMMENTATOR:

:29:41.:30:01.

Crawford and Lobban won all their heats through to this round. It was

:30:02.:30:06.

:30:07.:30:46.

Sandhu from Chandigarh in India. It is doubles, there are differences.

:30:47.:30:52.

We see Saurav Ghosal on the right-hand side of your screen. He

:30:53.:30:57.

had an incredibly good singles event reaching the semifinals. Just

:30:58.:31:08.

missing out losing to Peter Barber in the bronze medal match. There we

:31:09.:31:15.

can see their route through to this stage. They finished second in their

:31:16.:31:25.

group. That is the way that the pool matches are decided. First in one of

:31:26.:31:31.

the pools plays the second in their neighbouring pool. This is one of

:31:32.:31:49.

the toughest matches. The Indian team are seeded seven, the Indian

:31:50.:31:53.

team seeded eighth. The Scottish team certainly had an easier route

:31:54.:31:56.

through. Really nothing to choose team certainly had an easier route

:31:57.:32:53.

between these two teams. We team certainly had an easier route

:32:54.:33:00.

different game from singles which is much more measured,

:33:01.:33:04.

different game from singles which is your length at the back of the

:33:05.:33:07.

court. In doubles, the players push forward trying to attack the ball as

:33:08.:33:13.

much as possible. Most of the players like to use pace, a lot of

:33:14.:33:19.

cross courts. Not much straight up and down the wall. Lots of fun to

:33:20.:33:27.

watch and play. Reactions quashed. -- reaction squash. A nice crowd for

:33:28.:33:50.

the knockout stages today. 16 in the men's event. Also 16 left in the

:33:51.:34:13.

mixed doubles event. The Indians coming in. Glasgow Commonwealth

:34:14.:34:28.

Games 2014. Men's doubles. India to serve. Stuart Crawford to receive.

:34:29.:34:32.

The best of three games. You do not have to stay on your own

:34:33.:35:22.

site, you will see a lot of crossing over. We saw a lot of that in the

:35:23.:35:26.

mixed doubles, and I am sure you will see it in this match as well.

:35:27.:36:28.

Nice crosscourt from Greg Lobban. And there we see the communication,

:36:29.:36:37.

which is incredibly important. You cannot rely on your opponent, you

:36:38.:36:39.

have to communicate. Sandhu just calling his ball down.

:36:40.:37:11.

Scotland are off to a flyer. A fairly conventional play to start

:37:12.:38:02.

off with, playing it a little bit like a large game of singles, trying

:38:03.:38:06.

to find out line and length at the back of the court, not giving your

:38:07.:38:09.

opponent is any opportunities at the front. I am sure that will not

:38:10.:38:28.

continue for too long. That is nice play from Ghosal. The drop shot,

:38:29.:38:36.

followed by the volley drop. First point on the board for them.

:38:37.:38:48.

That is a key shot in doubles, just finding that space, especially if

:38:49.:38:55.

your partner can block out your opponent on the other side, and you

:38:56.:39:00.

can play that short angled just and again, the obstruction.

:39:01.:39:03.

UMPIRE: No let. UMPIRE: No let. Sandhu, managing to

:39:04.:39:10.

find his spaces and then execute. And we have seen this quite a lot in

:39:11.:39:51.

the doubles. Maybe ordinarily in singles, that would be a let, but

:39:52.:39:56.

there is a great emphasis for the retrieving player to go and get the

:39:57.:39:57.

ball in doubles. As I was saying, around the middle,

:39:58.:40:20.

if there are refereeing decisions, ordinarily, if you hit the ball back

:40:21.:40:26.

to yourself, it would be a stroke in singles, but in doubles, they tend

:40:27.:40:31.

to want to try to keep the ball going, on the understanding that

:40:32.:40:34.

there are going to be a lot of traffic Robbins, and they want to

:40:35.:40:39.

give the players every opportunity to be creative, to play down the

:40:40.:40:53.

middle. REFEREE: Yes, let.

:40:54.:41:41.

A nice reaction folly from Lobban. A very dangerous player when he gets

:41:42.:41:52.

an open ball like that on the crosscourt. Saurav was trying to

:41:53.:42:03.

keep it tight to the wall. He has been an incredibly dangerous player

:42:04.:42:09.

in the last couple of days. We have seen him playing in the doubles. And

:42:10.:42:17.

if the ball is tight like that, there is not a lot Lobban can do.

:42:18.:42:55.

Again, the Indian team calling their ball down. Very honest. That was a

:42:56.:43:02.

Again, the Indian team calling their nice rally. That was a little

:43:03.:43:05.

Again, the Indian team calling their more like the normal doubles rallies

:43:06.:43:06.

we have seen, a lot of play around the front court, picking on one

:43:07.:43:11.

corner sometimes, picking on one player. And it is the Scots who come

:43:12.:43:15.

through. middle. Creating some confusion.

:43:16.:44:11.

That is definitely part of this game. We saw both Scots boys running

:44:12.:44:15.

into the middle at the front, at the start of that rally.

:44:16.:44:22.

REFEREE: Yes, let. There again, we see Ghosal trying to

:44:23.:45:24.

keep Lobban nice and tight to the wall, really limiting his

:45:25.:45:27.

opportunities. More like singles play.

:45:28.:45:49.

Oh, a nice angle from Sandhu. He realised both Scottish players were

:45:50.:46:00.

covering the back corner. He saw the space and hit into it. Great vision

:46:01.:46:06.

for the game. Beautiful shot. But still three points in arrears.

:46:07.:46:34.

REFEREE: Yes, let. You do see this in doubles play. It is not so much

:46:35.:46:46.

about playing the court, playing the dimensions, it is more about playing

:46:47.:46:51.

your opponents, hitting into the space, trying to confuse them,

:46:52.:46:56.

hitting into their feet if possible. It is really quite a different skill

:46:57.:46:57.

set. Interesting play. Lobban did a 360!

:46:58.:47:35.

Is that not dangerous play? Mr Lobban, please be careful. No, the

:47:36.:47:43.

next time I will just hit him. COMMENTATOR: Well, Ghosal appealing

:47:44.:47:50.

to the referee, saying, hang on, that was dangerous, you are meant to

:47:51.:47:54.

stop and play the let in that situation. These guys are wearing

:47:55.:48:05.

those guards. On their eyes. Lobban finds a spot, and the ball dies.

:48:06.:48:13.

Again, if you can create some confusion, you can quite often run

:48:14.:48:19.

away with the points. So, Lobban would argue that that was not

:48:20.:48:23.

dangerous play, he knew exactly where everyone was.

:48:24.:48:27.

REFEREE: Yes, let. Maybe a product the previous rally,

:48:28.:48:45.

but the Scottish boys move to game ball.

:48:46.:48:59.

And there we see an ace. And the Scottish team take the first game.

:49:00.:49:04.

It seemed a bit closer than the scoreline suggests. The Scottish

:49:05.:49:09.

team were not favourites to go through here, seeded eighth, whereas

:49:10.:49:14.

the Indian team are seeded seventh. So they certainly cannot relax.

:49:15.:49:33.

You have just got to be careful, when he is edging across, you have

:49:34.:49:42.

got to make sure Harinder Pal Sandhu has not got the angle.

:49:43.:49:51.

Well, it is difficult to hear everything that the Scottish

:49:52.:49:54.

national coach was saying. But one thing I did pick up was, do not give

:49:55.:50:01.

Harinder Pal Sandhu the angle, on the forehand side, to hit that kind

:50:02.:50:04.

of shot across the court, dying into the side wall.

:50:05.:50:13.

Nice play from the Scottish team. As we can see, Crawford tends to be the

:50:14.:50:21.

steady player. He can hit winners, obviously, Greg Lobban, in gradually

:50:22.:50:27.

dangerous, can hit winners from anywhere. And there we see the

:50:28.:50:32.

confusion, Sandhu again finding that spot. The Scottish team have to

:50:33.:50:36.

watch out not to give Sandhu any shots in that area.

:50:37.:51:06.

So, the Scottish team, gearing up, with their rackets and there goes

:51:07.:51:12.

guards. again, and it is the Scottish team

:51:13.:51:56.

serving. Again, we

:51:57.:52:34.

playing the court, but playing the space.

:52:35.:53:10.

Nice rally for the Indians, really standing very far up the court,

:53:11.:53:18.

especially Sandhu, that is obviously his role, to cover the front court.

:53:19.:53:43.

REFEREE: Yes, let. There was enough interference there, he was going to

:53:44.:54:05.

get that ball. Who? Sandhu. Greg Lobban just querying that one. Well,

:54:06.:54:10.

it was a nice shot, but Sandhu was blocked by Crawford, certainly could

:54:11.:54:13.

not play that shot. Have to play a let, play it again.

:54:14.:55:25.

Not much to choose between these two teams. But it is the Indians that

:55:26.:55:34.

have got a 5-1 lead in this second game.

:55:35.:55:55.

Well, interesting decision from the Scottish team to change roles. Greg

:55:56.:56:03.

Lobban on that last rally was on the forehand side, Crawford on the

:56:04.:56:10.

left-hand side. This was not just a recovery position, they obviously

:56:11.:56:14.

just decided to change it up. Just to keep their opponents guessing.

:56:15.:56:25.

And you can see that they are keeping that formation for now. It

:56:26.:56:29.

seems as though Ghosal on the left side was doing a great job of

:56:30.:56:33.

keeping it nice and tight to the wall, with Lobban, who has been an

:56:34.:56:38.

amazing attacking player over the last couple of days, punishing any

:56:39.:56:48.

loose shot. He has been getting a lot of points on the board.

:56:49.:57:34.

Nice recovery! A little bit lucky from Sandhu, but what a great

:57:35.:57:40.

recovery from between his legs! Very important to have fast hands,

:57:41.:57:47.

the reactions. Both Scottish players standing right

:57:48.:58:53.

up in the court. The Indian team did very well to retrieve.

:58:54.:59:48.

Sandhu. Beautiful punched length from Sandhu. It was an important

:59:49.:59:57.

shot from the Indian team to stop the Scots from getting a run of

:59:58.:00:03.

points, gathering momentum. Because the rallies are relatively quicker

:00:04.:00:07.

than singles, momentum does play a part in doubles.

:00:08.:00:25.

Well, we saw that from Stuart Crawford yesterday. He is very

:00:26.:00:34.

consistent in hitting the spot right into his opponent's feet. He got the

:00:35.:00:40.

winner that time. If he doesn't, Sandhu is popping it back and

:00:41.:00:45.

providing an opportunity for his party. The Scottish team go back to

:00:46.:00:47.

5-8. Well, again it is Crawford finding

:00:48.:01:34.

the space. Great hands from Sandhu. Not sure how to describe that shot.

:01:35.:01:38.

Through those legs and then a backwards flip. Nice defence.

:01:39.:02:02.

Again, we see this change in momentum. The Scottish boys, if they

:02:03.:02:10.

can get away with a 2-0 victory, they would be very happy. Anything

:02:11.:03:08.

can happen in the third. Nice rally. Greg Lobban was active there. But it

:03:09.:03:14.

was Harinder Pal Sandhu who found his spot on that drop shot. He takes

:03:15.:03:23.

the position and then hits that before it hits the side wall. The

:03:24.:03:27.

ball shooting through to the back of the point. It takes the Indians

:03:28.:03:32.

to-7. Unfortunate from Crawford. He is so

:03:33.:04:07.

good at finding his space. Just lunged forward looking for the

:04:08.:04:13.

middle spot. Just back into himself. And it is a game ball to the

:04:14.:04:36.

Indians. Lobban may be a little bit frustrated, deciding to take, shot.

:04:37.:04:42.

Still two game balls to the Indian team. Well, it looked good

:04:43.:05:31.

Still two game balls to the Indian Lobban. The Indian team level of the

:05:32.:05:37.

scores. 1-1. Takes it into a deciding game. Doubles are just the

:05:38.:05:39.

best of three. Let's hear what deciding game. Doubles are just the

:05:40.:05:46.

major is going to say to his Indian deciding game. Doubles are just the

:05:47.:05:57.

players. You have to anticipate the middle shot. You must anticipate.

:05:58.:06:18.

COMMENTATOR: A little bit I could pick up was use the middle shot, it

:06:19.:06:41.

is very effective but don't forget about your movement. Whether singles

:06:42.:06:45.

or doubles, very important in squash. When you hit it down the

:06:46.:06:50.

middle, move up and cover the front corners. Especially Greg Lobban is

:06:51.:07:12.

very dangerous in those corners. Just as we expected between the

:07:13.:07:16.

seventh and the eighth seeds. An incredible battle. We need to leave

:07:17.:07:29.

the squash now but if you would like to continue to watch. It is very

:07:30.:07:36.

simple, just press your red button. On BBC Three, it is time for diving.

:07:37.:07:44.

We will be heading over for coverage of the preliminary round of the

:07:45.:07:54.

women's ten metre dive. We are going to show some of the men's. The man

:07:55.:08:01.

to watch out for is Jack Laugher. He is currently through two parts of a

:08:02.:08:12.

Commonwealth Games hat-trick. I wonder what kind of night he had. He

:08:13.:08:23.

probably got a fairly late night with interviews. He doesn't look

:08:24.:08:36.

that tired, even if he is. A consummate professional. Only 19

:08:37.:08:40.

years of age but he has been around. He has major championships

:08:41.:08:45.

under his belt. He is now Commonwealth champion on the one

:08:46.:08:51.

metre. He will smash it today, and stand on the podium later. That is

:08:52.:08:56.

the last time I am going to say that until he does. But he is our man.

:08:57.:09:04.

That is the best that anyone has been by ten points. But it was a

:09:05.:09:10.

high tariff dive. We are going to go to Oliver Denly. -- Dingley. Forward

:09:11.:09:31.

to another half. That is going to get to 7.5. Because of the degree of

:09:32.:09:37.

difficulty he is going to be close to the top of the leaderboard. Not

:09:38.:09:42.

many of the divers are using a very high degree of difficulty to open

:09:43.:09:51.

with. So they will be the top three. Not quite the eights he was hoping

:09:52.:09:59.

for but not too far shy. First-round done. Who is not going to be coming

:10:00.:10:10.

back? James Denny on the front page as well. Those people are well

:10:11.:10:22.

clear. These are those ones who will make it through, as it stands. A

:10:23.:10:28.

long way to go. Jack Laugher is the leader after round one after a huge

:10:29.:10:35.

tariff dive. As this one is, a reversed 3.5 somersault with Tucker.

:10:36.:10:43.

Don't use them up this morning. A huge tariff dive. All of them are.

:10:44.:10:49.

This young man is top three in the world. This is just a sign of what

:10:50.:10:54.

is to come from this superstar in the making. Nearly 90 points in the

:10:55.:11:01.

preliminary. If that was in the final, they would give him nine or

:11:02.:11:07.

9.5. Why would they market differently? They want to give

:11:08.:11:13.

someone a go. They are still half asleep. James Denny going for a

:11:14.:11:27.

reverse 3.5 somersault. Just composing himself. Nice! Nice work

:11:28.:11:40.

from James. Right on the end of the diving board, giving himself a

:11:41.:11:46.

chance. Good take-off. Spotting the water three times. Good tuck as he

:11:47.:11:53.

reaches backing. Over 70 points. Four out of four for James Denny.

:11:54.:11:59.

Sevens across-the-board. He should be happy with that. Two more rounds

:12:00.:12:10.

to go. James Heatly. You will hear that big roar every time he steps

:12:11.:12:23.

up. A big tariff. 3.4. Forwards 2.5 somersault with 2.5 twists. A

:12:24.:12:32.

complicated one for the Scotsman. That is his biggest and most

:12:33.:12:36.

complicated dive and he does not disappoint. He delivers for five out

:12:37.:12:42.

of five. He must be absolutely loving it. So he should be. He is

:12:43.:12:50.

going to cruise into the final. Cruising in! Nice! A big wave, a big

:12:51.:13:03.

smile. Getting ready for the final. All three Englishmen and the

:13:04.:13:05.

smile. Getting ready for the final. All three Englishmen and Scotsman

:13:06.:13:06.

are through to the final later today. Jack Laugher at the top of

:13:07.:13:12.

the shop, leading by almost 50 points.

:13:13.:13:35.

It means we lose two Australians, one New Zealander and both of the

:13:36.:13:50.

Indians have gone. Well, the women's ten metre platform event has just

:13:51.:13:56.

started. Let's join Bob Ballard and Leon Taylor. A total of 72 for

:13:57.:14:21.

Meaghan Benfeito. One of the young Malaysian 's. Hoong with a forward

:14:22.:14:36.

3.5. It was a very good entry but she over rotated. Somehow managed to

:14:37.:14:43.

keep the splashdown. It could be a mixed bag from the judges.

:14:44.:15:31.

LEON TAYLOR: Was under pressure yesterday in the synchro, not quite

:15:32.:15:38.

able to deliver what they were looking for yesterday. But having a

:15:39.:15:46.

chance again here in the individual. Getting through, not

:15:47.:15:50.

doing anything too crazy, and certainly hits the mark in round

:15:51.:15:57.

one, dive one. Yes, not attempting to much in these early stages. The

:15:58.:16:15.

Canadian diver, who sounds like a question, up next.

:16:16.:16:43.

The degree of difficulty takes into account that this was a much more

:16:44.:16:50.

difficult dive to execute. Slightly rolling over, back towards the

:16:51.:16:57.

diving board. So probably, at the bottom of the leaderboard, rather

:16:58.:17:01.

than the top. Exactly right. Carol-Ann Ware, 52.8. Great

:17:02.:17:09.

variation in the marks from the judges. Now, anybody who has watched

:17:10.:17:20.

diving coverage with me on the BBC over the last decade will

:17:21.:17:22.

diving coverage with me on the BBC not like an stance. There is always

:17:23.:17:28.

the concerned that she is going to slip off the board. But they are

:17:29.:17:32.

seasoned slip off the board. But they are

:17:33.:17:32.

like an jake stands. Nice opening dive from Sarah.

:17:33.:18:02.

control. As nervous as you might be, opening up your campaign, when

:18:03.:18:05.

balancing from a handstand on the edge of a ten metre board. And that

:18:06.:18:10.

is just the easy bit. You then need to flick off, one and a half twists,

:18:11.:18:14.

double somersault, entry into the water. And Sarah Barrow goes into

:18:15.:18:20.

third place with that. One of the youngest competitors in

:18:21.:18:37.

the competition, Victoria Vincent. Oh, what a marvellous opening round

:18:38.:18:57.

dive from Victoria Vincent, from Team England, just 13 years of age.

:18:58.:19:04.

Tiny. She dives in Plymouth, under the watchful eye of Andy Banks. What

:19:05.:19:10.

a beautiful dive. You can see why this young girl won the British

:19:11.:19:15.

Championships. Tonya and Sarah were not there, of course.

:19:16.:19:29.

VV, more like a VW there, the way she went into the water. Motoring in

:19:30.:19:33.

for a good score. A little bit off from Melissa Wu

:19:34.:19:46.

there, as she entered the water. Causing a little bit of splash. She

:19:47.:20:04.

is an experienced diver, multiple medallist at the Commonwealth Games.

:20:05.:20:21.

A big roar for the third of the English divers, Tonia Couch. Back to

:20:22.:20:28.

and have some assaults, one and a half twists. She is going for a 3.2

:20:29.:20:48.

as an opener. What a dive! Now, that will put her top of the leaderboard.

:20:49.:20:50.

as an opener. What a dive! Now, that Interesting tactics. Tonia Couch,

:20:51.:20:52.

top of the leaderboard. That camera giving us a great view

:20:53.:21:06.

of the complexity of the dive. The Malaysian diver, Olympic

:21:07.:21:32.

medallist in this event. But that is not particularly sharp. Of course,

:21:33.:21:35.

it is the preliminaries, so the scores do not carry. She has got a

:21:36.:21:41.

strap on her ankle, which is quite usual for her. She was just unable

:21:42.:21:48.

to straighten out completely before she entered the water. The judges

:21:49.:21:51.

marks will reflect that. This is the lowest tariff dive that

:21:52.:22:06.

we have seen so far. Unusual to see a degree of

:22:07.:22:43.

difficulty like that. But this is one of the newest and youngest

:22:44.:22:48.

divers on the Malaysian team. So she, like Victoria Vincent, is

:22:49.:22:54.

building her list. So, knock so complex to start with.

:22:55.:24:05.

On to round two, and the first of the three Australians to go.

:24:06.:24:15.

Bringing the degree of difficulty up to the 3.2 region. And she will try

:24:16.:24:21.

to execute the best of her ability in round two.

:24:22.:24:39.

Well, Lara Tarvit is on fire. A good, solid dive to back up her

:24:40.:24:46.

first-round dive, which opened the competition. Two of the Australian

:24:47.:24:57.

men got eliminated, but Lara is making sure, and definitely throwing

:24:58.:25:02.

her hat into the ring on this one. She has backed up her opening round

:25:03.:25:09.

dive. Nice and consistent. Not too far wrong. And she is at the top of

:25:10.:25:11.

the order now. Next, the Canadian, ranked sixth

:25:12.:25:17.

after the first round. Just going not show up on the degree

:25:18.:25:27.

of difficulty. Oh, that is a big dive. 3.3 degrees

:25:28.:25:40.

of difficulty. The backward three and a half is tricky. You can only

:25:41.:25:45.

see where you have been, you cannot see where you are going. She does a

:25:46.:25:54.

good job, does not go away over. Sevens I think coming her way. A

:25:55.:25:57.

good second round dive. But was the Canadian number one.

:25:58.:26:19.

Now, the Canadian number two, Meaghan Benfeito.

:26:20.:26:43.

Well, she was having a good think about that, and I am not surprised.

:26:44.:26:50.

It is scary up on the 10m diving board. She is balanced backwards on

:26:51.:26:57.

her tip toes. Obviously you need to be a safe distance, but if you move

:26:58.:27:03.

too far away... I love this shot, the drop-down camera, showing you

:27:04.:27:08.

exactly what happens. Imagine trying to do that in real-time.

:27:09.:27:13.

Certainly very much in contention for a latter start in the final, at

:27:14.:27:19.

this stage anyway. 2.9 degrees of difficulty for the

:27:20.:27:35.

Malaysian athlete. Oh, this is a beautiful dive when it goes well.

:27:36.:27:38.

Just allowing the dive to get away from her little bit. Beautiful pike

:27:39.:27:44.

shape. Looks OK until here. Then she just tips over. Many tidal wave.

:27:45.:27:55.

Watching you and been, who was working for the host broadcaster,

:27:56.:28:01.

doing exactly the same thing at the same time. Synchronised indications

:28:02.:28:09.

- very good! Rachel Bugg, the Australian. So, we are not going to

:28:10.:28:17.

lose anybody this morning. All 12 will go through.

:28:18.:28:22.

Rachel Bugg, currently in fifth place. Oh, this is her bogey dive.

:28:23.:28:38.

She made an error on this in the synchro yesterday, which was

:28:39.:28:42.

costly, next to Melissa Wu. It is almost like the trap door opens up

:28:43.:28:47.

and she falls through it, and then tries to

:28:48.:28:48.

and she falls through it, and then to do a could not keep up with her.

:28:49.:28:57.

Well, she is watching it back on the big screen, and she will not be

:28:58.:29:07.

happy with that. 3.5s will not get the job done. But it does not

:29:08.:29:12.

matter. Get the bugs out of the system.

:29:13.:29:23.

Carol-Ann Ware, for Canada. She has got a 2.9, so, coming down in

:29:24.:29:33.

tariff. Again, a similar mistake to the Malaysian. The dive just gets

:29:34.:29:44.

away from her. She gets away a bit too much from the board, meaning it

:29:45.:29:51.

is difficult to control. So the dive does not want to stop and it wants

:29:52.:30:01.

to keep on spinning. A real mixed bag for Carol-Ann Ware. Sarah

:30:02.:30:10.

Barrow, in fourth place after round one.

:30:11.:30:18.

This is a 3.2 difficulty. Sarah, one of three English divers in here.

:30:19.:30:59.

she doesn't come out with confidence from the exit to the dive. Two bites

:31:00.:31:12.

of the cherry. 2.5 from one judge, 5.5 from another. Discuss. Well, I

:31:13.:31:19.

won't. You know how I feel about that. Victoria Vincent. DV to her

:31:20.:31:33.

friends, who include Leon Taylor as her mentor.

:31:34.:31:45.

Same kind of error. Just falling foul playing it safe. A good

:31:46.:31:59.

take-off. Just letting go a little bit too late. Rolling over the

:32:00.:32:06.

vertical, which is a shame but it is the challenge of these particular

:32:07.:32:12.

dives. A long way to go for this young lady in her particular career.

:32:13.:32:20.

Without any comment from me. 4.5 up to 6.5. That is why we have the

:32:21.:32:34.

three average cause. -- scores. It is arms down time. A free position.

:32:35.:32:48.

You do not hold the shape for more than half a somersault. It is a

:32:49.:32:59.

category in its own right. Double somersault is 1.5 twists off your

:33:00.:33:10.

hands. 1.5 seconds to get it done. Didn't quite shake the room but 6.5

:33:11.:33:28.

will do for her. This is our leader. She is the best at the moment.

:33:29.:33:35.

Always looks so focused. Looks pretty concentrated on what she has

:33:36.:33:53.

to do. 3.2 for her. What a dive! Get in! Unlike her team-mate and

:33:54.:33:59.

synchronised dive partner who was confident, she has absolutely

:34:00.:34:04.

smashed it. Look at this entry into the water. Now you see me, now you

:34:05.:34:13.

don't. Eight and 8.5 in coming. Recent fabulous performance of

:34:14.:34:16.

fourth in the World Cup in China is absolutely on fire. A member of the

:34:17.:34:28.

Edinburgh Fire Brigade. She might need to be extinguished, in the

:34:29.:34:37.

nicest possible way! She likes to get on with things. Doesn't hang

:34:38.:34:43.

around for long. She has got it right. She is the only one with a

:34:44.:34:55.

handle on it. A good take-off. She lets go of the shape of very early.

:34:56.:35:02.

She needs to. It will be eights across-the-board, or there about. It

:35:03.:35:08.

needs to be good for the execution. I am glad that you are confident

:35:09.:35:14.

with the judges, because I am not. That takes her up into fifth place

:35:15.:35:18.

at the moment. Three more rounds to go. For latecomers, I hope you have

:35:19.:35:27.

brought a note. Everybody does go through to the final. She has a

:35:28.:35:37.

forward 3.5. Alas Diver of round number two. Very tidy. Started with

:35:38.:35:49.

a very easy dive. This is one her more difficult ones. Good work.

:35:50.:36:00.

Making easy work of that five. Grabbing the hands. Punching and

:36:01.:36:04.

entry into the water. No splash. Well done. The way things are going,

:36:05.:36:14.

she will have a late start in the final tonight. Tonia Couch the best

:36:15.:36:17.

of the bunch. Just a chance to get the cobwebs out

:36:18.:36:51.

of the system as they prepare for the final tonight. Everybody will

:36:52.:36:58.

return. Just about to start round three. The Edinburgh venue is

:36:59.:37:11.

filling up. It will be absolutely packed on Friday and Saturday,

:37:12.:37:14.

definitely for the arrival of Tom Daley. We are watching the ten metre

:37:15.:37:26.

women's competition. She is second at the moment but 2.9 will not help

:37:27.:37:40.

her cause in staying there. Well, that is a blown dive. Bit of an

:37:41.:37:49.

understatement. Two fantastic dives from her and then letting go of her

:37:50.:37:55.

shape to early virtually killing her rotation and causing that tidal

:37:56.:38:00.

wave. Look at this. That hurts, as well. The amount of splash indicates

:38:01.:38:07.

that will have hurt the back and shoulders quite badly. She will have

:38:08.:38:12.

got a slap on her lower back and shoulders. You can see her holding

:38:13.:38:17.

back the tears. I hope she is OK to continue. That is how dangerous it

:38:18.:38:26.

is. Even on a 2.9 which is not the most complicated dive. It doesn't

:38:27.:38:37.

tickle. Forward 3.5 four Roseline Filion on. No mistakes from Roseline

:38:38.:38:57.

Filion. You can see that the pike shape is more like a puck shape, a

:38:58.:39:08.

combination of pike and tuck. We have discussed this before. It would

:39:09.:39:17.

delay the competition but it would be nice if the judges could look at

:39:18.:39:26.

a replay. You don't really care. It would just slow the competition down

:39:27.:39:27.

a lot. But wouldn't it make sure that we got the right marking.

:39:28.:39:37.

Meaghan Benfeito. that we got the right marking.

:39:38.:39:45.

made. It just goes to show. that we got the right marking.

:39:46.:39:49.

complex dive. One of that we got the right marking.

:39:50.:39:52.

difficult in the world, certainly in the female competition. Really

:39:53.:40:03.

feeling the effects. A big day yesterday. Crowned Commonwealth

:40:04.:40:06.

champion alongside her team-mate. That hurts. What I doing? Get after

:40:07.:40:20.

it. Put more effort in. Not what we expect of somebody of her stature. A

:40:21.:40:30.

lot of people are finding this preliminary a tough ask. Lovely. A

:40:31.:40:42.

classy dive. First rate indeed. Making a mistake on her previous

:40:43.:40:48.

dive. Inward 3.5, very classy. Good lines. She could get eights. It

:40:49.:41:02.

would get her 75 point. Eight precisely from all the judges that

:41:03.:41:07.

count. All of the judges apart from one in accord on that one. Waiting

:41:08.:41:18.

for the referee's whistle. She can now prepare herself for the armour

:41:19.:41:27.

stand. Double somersault, 1.5 twist. 3.2, the degree of difficulty. She

:41:28.:41:42.

has got to do some work. After her Miss app -- mishap on the inward

:41:43.:41:53.

2.5. She does over rotate which will cost her. But a much better

:41:54.:41:59.

third-round effort. She will feature higher up the leaderboard after her

:42:00.:42:09.

second round dive. 6.5 and six will be added into the school. We are

:42:10.:42:19.

getting an increment up on the degree of difficulty. This one is a

:42:20.:42:25.

slightly different armour stand. Arm stand, back, triple somersault.

:42:26.:42:31.

Tuck. All of the ingredients to bump it up to 3.3. It is just a case of

:42:32.:42:44.

getting her programme underway. What happened there? Is that OK? It is a

:42:45.:43:01.

restart. Doesn't hold the arm stand. You can see why I don't like that.

:43:02.:43:08.

Obviously the tricep injury affected her, the restart will mean a two

:43:09.:43:22.

point reduction from each judge. Look at the strapping. She is badly

:43:23.:43:33.

injured but still competed. A 2-point deduction on all of the

:43:34.:43:37.

judges which meant the dive was up there in the sevens. She will be

:43:38.:43:45.

glad that the arm stand is done and dusted. Everybody has to do one. You

:43:46.:43:50.

can do them of difference complex cities. -- complex

:43:51.:44:11.

not all females have to do the arm stand. They do five different dyes

:44:12.:44:18.

and there are six groups to choose from. Some girls elect to do the arm

:44:19.:44:25.

stand but not all are brave enough. In the men's competition they do six

:44:26.:44:31.

from six and it means that all men need to do an arm stand. The women

:44:32.:44:37.

have the option to miss out their least favourite group of dives. Lots

:44:38.:44:42.

of the ladies here today are using the arm stand but it is their

:44:43.:44:52.

choice. Yes, I thought there was something wrong with that score.

:44:53.:44:59.

That was not a 9.5 dive, was it? So, that has been altered, the score has

:45:00.:45:04.

been adjusted. Now, Sarah Barrow can continue. This is a forward three

:45:05.:45:11.

and a half some assaults. 3.0 degree of difficulty. Sarah, ninth place at

:45:12.:45:17.

the moment. She will hope to work her way up to a later finish. That

:45:18.:45:27.

is a good comeback from Sarah. A little bit tired out there this

:45:28.:45:31.

morning, not surprisingly, after yesterday's excitement, silver

:45:32.:45:35.

medallist, next to Tonia. Just throwing up a little bit of splash.

:45:36.:45:41.

She will get it, but this is the preliminaries.

:45:42.:46:03.

The 13-year-old on this forward two and a half some assaults, with one

:46:04.:46:15.

twist. The future of English and British diving, right in your

:46:16.:46:24.

picture now. LEON TAYLOR: Nice work, VV. She does

:46:25.:46:29.

a good job. One twist, into the remainder of the two and a half some

:46:30.:46:36.

assaults. Just a fraction over as she enters the water, and that is

:46:37.:46:40.

because of the launch and the take-off. Just waiting for the

:46:41.:46:46.

scoreboard. Taking it all in her stride. 13 years old. Conducting

:46:47.:46:57.

herself in a very professional way. Getting the feedback from Andy. Just

:46:58.:47:04.

saying, little bit soft in your lower back as you went in. Just

:47:05.:47:13.

guessing! It is a caption competition! There is no pressure on

:47:14.:47:18.

any of these girls this morning, because they are all through to this

:47:19.:47:24.

evening's final. This is getting used to the crowd and the

:47:25.:47:30.

atmosphere. That is all right, that is solid enough. Qualification

:47:31.:47:36.

already assured for the final. Melissa Wu, inward three and a half

:47:37.:47:47.

some assaults, with tuck. 3.2 difficulty, for the Australian.

:47:48.:47:57.

When we get to the end of round five, we will know where they are

:47:58.:48:03.

going to start in tonight's final. Oh, nice dive from Melissa. That is

:48:04.:48:08.

what we have come to expect. She has been on the diving seen for ages.

:48:09.:48:24.

Very technically efficient. She will get eight on that, I am sure.

:48:25.:48:38.

Tonia Couch will be hoping to hold onto first place.

:48:39.:48:50.

Three out of three four Tonia. -- for Tonia. Squeezing into that pike

:48:51.:49:05.

shape. Needs to be a little bit tighter in a little bit short of

:49:06.:49:10.

vertical as she goes in, but it is a solid dive. She will still be on top

:49:11.:49:16.

of the leaderboard. Yes, she has given herself a 14 point margin over

:49:17.:49:25.

the next best. Some finer points to be worked on by her and her coach,

:49:26.:49:35.

Andy. Pandelela of Malaysia, and here comes her arm stand.

:49:36.:49:58.

Nice work from the Olympic medallist from Malaysia, Pandelela.

:49:59.:50:04.

All-important control, up into the arm stand. Bending the knees,

:50:05.:50:09.

flicking the lakes to the rotation. Really smooth. She will be up there

:50:10.:50:18.

next to Tonia, or in that half of the leaderboard, for sure.

:50:19.:50:43.

Back three and a half some for Loh Zhiayi, of Malaysia. What is

:50:44.:51:21.

happening here, Leon? She obviously dropped her chamois.

:51:22.:51:25.

happening here, Leon? She obviously quite dry enough. She needs to be

:51:26.:51:30.

able to hold her shins. If her shins are not dry enough, and her hands

:51:31.:51:34.

slip, then the dive will go out of control.

:51:35.:51:46.

Oh, she just landed right on her back. Oh, I goodness! Now, that

:51:47.:51:55.

really, really hurts. Here we go, just let's go to early. Oh I cannot

:51:56.:52:05.

describe to you what that is like. It is like jumping off the roof of a

:52:06.:52:11.

building and landing on the tarmac. She is obviously tougher than I am.

:52:12.:52:18.

Well, she is saying she is all right, but it may take a little

:52:19.:52:23.

while for that to take effect. She had that water with a thud. We are

:52:24.:52:27.

talking about 30 miles an hour, and she went into the water on her back.

:52:28.:52:36.

And these marks will not give any cause for excitement, either.

:52:37.:52:46.

The marks do not matter, it is the long-term damage she might have done

:52:47.:52:51.

for tonight, which is more concerning. Moving on to round

:52:52.:53:00.

three. Lara Tarvit. This is the arm stand that you will have seen a few

:53:01.:53:08.

times already. It is a back double somersault, one and a half twists.

:53:09.:53:14.

3.2, the degree of difficulty. Lara, in seventh.

:53:15.:53:22.

Wow, she did not get much of a lift off the diving board on her take-off

:53:23.:53:29.

there. She seemed to just fall through the diving board. Yes, an

:53:30.:53:36.

unusual technique, this was her fourth round dive. It is better than

:53:37.:53:41.

the last one, although not as good as the opening two, which were

:53:42.:53:45.

really strong. Unusual technique, gets away with it. I was going to

:53:46.:53:51.

ask, was she actually under control there? Not really. But she gets the

:53:52.:54:02.

marks, anyway. She did not get penalised as much as she could have

:54:03.:54:06.

been, for that. Meanwhile, this is Roseline Filion. She is a very

:54:07.:54:17.

experienced, established diver. The arm stand back triple somersault

:54:18.:54:19.

with tuck. Oh, yes, nice dive.

:54:20.:54:41.

team-mate, Carolann, struggling on that the dive. Using the power in

:54:42.:55:06.

that flick kick. But is a good dive. And she has taken the lead. Now, the

:55:07.:55:15.

same dive, to be executed by her Canadian team-mate, Meaghan

:55:16.:55:18.

Benfeito. Sixth place at the moment. Just leaving the dive a fraction

:55:19.:55:40.

short. The take-off was excellent, probably a little bit better than

:55:41.:55:49.

her team-mate's. A strong push off the hands, though. A couple

:55:50.:55:54.

her team-mate's. A strong push off the hands, though. A of 6.5s in the

:55:55.:55:55.

mix. Konta Cheong Jun Hoong of Malaysia.

:55:56.:56:20.

That was a very, very simple reverse dive in the pike position. She is

:56:21.:56:26.

obviously having challenges with this particular movement. She has

:56:27.:56:31.

been having some challenges in training, so she is playing a game

:56:32.:56:35.

of tactics, going for the 1.9 degrees of difficulty, to save

:56:36.:56:39.

herself from wiping out. We have already seen one of those and we do

:56:40.:56:50.

not want to see any more. Hitting the water as hard as you do, from

:56:51.:56:55.

the 10m, things start to ache, and you are in pain. I thought it was a

:56:56.:56:59.

mistake you are in pain. I thought it was a

:57:00.:57:04.

on my screen, when I saw 1.9. Meanwhile, Rachel Bugg, with a 3.3.

:57:05.:57:10.

Back three and a half some assaults, with tuck. Oh, just about getting

:57:11.:57:19.

the dive in. A couple of rounds ago, she really struggled on the inward.

:57:20.:57:23.

This time she does not quite get enough height, and the tuck shape is

:57:24.:57:31.

way too open. Just about scrapes the dive in. There is lit in the tuck

:57:32.:57:38.

position, trying to speed up the spin rotation. And there she is,

:57:39.:57:48.

5.5s. As she looks back at the replay to see what she has done

:57:49.:57:57.

right or wrong. Now, how is Carol-Ann Ware going to recover from

:57:58.:58:01.

the last one, which did not quite go right. She is heavily taped on the

:58:02.:58:09.

wrist, and also on the arm as well. Yes, solid. Good entry into the

:58:10.:58:19.

water. You can see the heavy strapping on the right-hand side,

:58:20.:58:25.

the tricep and the right wrist. It is not uncommon for divers to have

:58:26.:58:29.

taping and strapping on the wrist, because that takes the brunt of the

:58:30.:58:32.

impact, as you punch a hole in the water. Good recovery.

:58:33.:58:43.

Reversed two and a half coming up now for Sarah Barrow. Not quite in

:58:44.:58:55.

the form that we know she is capable of.

:58:56.:59:03.

That is better. Like you say, not on her usual form,

:59:04.:59:14.

That is better. Like you say, not on but it does not really matter, as

:59:15.:59:15.

long as she turns up for the final. arch their, she should get sevens.

:59:16.:59:39.

Yes, she moves to tied to fifth. Victoria Vincent next up on the ten

:59:40.:59:44.

metres board. Amazing the impact hitting the water

:59:45.:59:57.

at 30 mph has on a still quite frail 13-year-old body.

:59:58.:59:59.

She will have the reverse to have somersaults, a lot more established

:00:00.:00:04.

divers than she having problems today. Hello! Blue cat that! That is

:00:05.:00:12.

why she is a force to be reckoned with. -- look at that! There can

:00:13.:00:17.

still be technical improvements on this take-off, she skips forward a

:00:18.:00:20.

little bit far away from the diving board here, but does she know where

:00:21.:00:26.

this dive is. Look at her entering the water. A little bit too far away

:00:27.:00:30.

from the diving board for nines, but she will not be far away. What a

:00:31.:00:37.

dive, even at this tender age able to perform on the biggest stage. 70

:00:38.:00:38.

points for her. Taking it all in her stride. First

:00:39.:00:50.

major international meet for Victoria Vincent. She seems to be

:00:51.:00:56.

backing it up. Melissa Wu has been around a lot longer, far more

:00:57.:01:00.

established. Again, not quite in top gear yet.

:01:01.:01:04.

Back three and have somersaults with the talks.

:01:05.:01:11.

Nowhere near top gear, idling at the side of the road with that one.

:01:12.:01:19.

Moving away with the shoulders, dipping back with the hips. That was

:01:20.:01:23.

all over from the word go. What a shame. It is a big dive.

:01:24.:01:24.

all over from the word go. What a going to be that costly but still

:01:25.:01:28.

not very nice landing on like that.

:01:29.:01:31.

33 total for Melissa Wu. Consistent performance so far,

:01:32.:02:17.

hoping this is just a sign of what will continue and will follow.

:02:18.:02:25.

Since the will continue and will follow.

:02:26.:02:29.

the competition and that will keep just there. Good dive. Yes, right

:02:30.:02:38.

where she wants to become in number one position. Tonia Couch has a lead

:02:39.:02:52.

of just over five points. She needs 79 to take the lead, quite a big

:02:53.:03:00.

ask. It is possible, but she will have to get nines to take the lead.

:03:01.:03:04.

She is not going to be too far away, that will get eights, definitely.

:03:05.:03:10.

Three and a half in the tuck position. Three and a half in the

:03:11.:03:13.

tuck position diving board, same distance from it, squeezed into that

:03:14.:03:19.

tuck shape. Good entry, she will certainly be in the top three.

:03:20.:03:35.

7.5s for Pandelela Rinong Pamg and that Mercer into the top three.

:03:36.:03:38.

Confirmation of that after we have seen the last diver in round of four

:03:39.:03:43.

for the panel to let dive of that round. This is the last one, am

:03:44.:03:49.

stand back double somersault one and a half twists in the free position.

:03:50.:04:12.

It is a good dive, she did not hold that the am stand for very long. It

:04:13.:04:19.

says on the rules you should hold the handstand or the am stand and

:04:20.:04:22.

show a comfortable balance before you go. That was quite brief, so the

:04:23.:04:28.

judges may take some points off there. The drive itself was quite

:04:29.:04:32.

good, so instead of 7.5 she might only get sixes.

:04:33.:04:42.

Mixed opinions from the judges. All three of those will board to

:04:43.:04:47.

water total of 62.40. This is how we look going into the final round. At

:04:48.:04:52.

the risk of repetition, to remind you we will not lose any divers

:04:53.:04:56.

before the final, all 12 will progress. At the moment Tonia Couch

:04:57.:05:02.

will be going last and Carol-Ann Ware will be going first in the

:05:03.:05:03.

final tonight. Into the last round of the ten

:05:04.:05:07.

metres platform for women. Well, that is the first of many we

:05:08.:05:43.

have seen in this final round. Nine out of the 12 divers are choosing to

:05:44.:05:48.

use this on the final round. This is the twist, specifically two and a

:05:49.:05:52.

half somersaults, one and a half twists. That is a good final dive,

:05:53.:05:57.

she has had three good ones. That will certainly see her break 300. It

:05:58.:06:04.

is a good score, she will be in the business end of the field when they

:06:05.:06:10.

reorder for the final later. Tonia Couch will be up around

:06:11.:06:13.

hopefully 350 if she gets things right on her final dive. Lara is

:06:14.:06:19.

probably around 45 points behind her in the end.

:06:20.:06:29.

Roseline Filion, 3.2 for the Canadian.

:06:30.:06:35.

That particular dive won her and her partner, up next, the gold medal

:06:36.:06:40.

yesterday, 24 hours ago. One and a half twists, straight up and down,

:06:41.:06:47.

seven .5. Good effort this morning. A total score this morning. Good.

:06:48.:07:06.

Very good. All of them will be returning

:07:07.:07:10.

tonight, but there is quite a big gap between Roseline Filion and Lara

:07:11.:07:14.

Tarvit. Here is another Canadian, Meaghan

:07:15.:07:18.

Benfeito, back to land have somersaults, one and a half twists.

:07:19.:07:25.

-- two and a half somersaults. Very good dive, just a bit of splash

:07:26.:07:28.

drawn up, other than that it was technically precise. The technique,

:07:29.:07:33.

swinging the arms, lifting them above your head then breaking one

:07:34.:07:37.

arm into the half twists, as you complete a somersault then you move

:07:38.:07:43.

into the remaining one and a half somersaults, making a total of two

:07:44.:07:48.

and a half somersaults, one twists. No time for taking notes in that

:07:49.:07:54.

dive. Back to and a half somersaults, one

:07:55.:07:56.

and a half twists. She is out of range for Roseline

:07:57.:08:15.

Filion points wise, Cheong Jun Hoong.

:08:16.:08:20.

Just marginally short of vertical as she entered the water. Weaker on the

:08:21.:08:25.

take off than some of the athletes we have seen before. Still a

:08:26.:08:30.

beautiful diver, though, great shape, just needed at 10.5 metres

:08:31.:08:35.

platform in order to get that one in, but unfortunately that was not

:08:36.:08:39.

available. She was short of vertical.

:08:40.:08:50.

6.5s across-the-board for Cheong Jun Hoong of Malaysia.

:08:51.:09:01.

The Australians, apart from the main, not having a great start,

:09:02.:09:09.

really, are they? Rachel Bugg, back to and have somersaults, one and a

:09:10.:09:10.

half twists. Yes, in word three and a half and

:09:11.:09:21.

about three and a half further down. This was a good finish. Losing the

:09:22.:09:26.

feet are little bit as she entered the water there. The judges may not

:09:27.:09:30.

see that from the side. They will see the splash because of the degree

:09:31.:09:32.

of difficulty it gets 65.6. I am so pleased she was able to

:09:33.:10:15.

unlock her arms out, because as much of sticky tape Verizon her holding

:10:16.:10:18.

her together I am surprised she has not having to be put back together

:10:19.:10:23.

after every round. Made of tough stuff, and that is a good finish,

:10:24.:10:29.

especially after that shambles on her handstand dive in round three.

:10:30.:10:36.

There we go, good enough, everyone goes through. Not really much at

:10:37.:10:42.

stake other than the order of dive in the final.

:10:43.:10:45.

Well, we will be back for more in the final later on today. Sarah

:10:46.:10:51.

Barrow, again, with that back two and a half. Trying to get some

:10:52.:10:59.

momentum to take into tonight's final if she can.

:11:00.:11:05.

That is much better. Faltering a little bit on this yesterday in the

:11:06.:11:09.

synchronised, she was gritting her teeth talking to me about it,

:11:10.:11:13.

thinking, if only I had hit it. If she had done it like that she would

:11:14.:11:17.

have been pleased. That just shows she has the kind of form she will

:11:18.:11:21.

need to feature in this evening's final. Good entering the water.

:11:22.:11:30.

She would have hoped for 300 plus, but 290 in the morning is OK.

:11:31.:11:39.

Now into the threes from the upper twos goes Victoria Vincent. A

:11:40.:11:44.

variation what we have seen up until now in this round, a foreword three

:11:45.:11:48.

and a half somersaults. Really attacking that take-off, just

:11:49.:12:02.

over rotating slightly as she entered the water, just tipping over

:12:03.:12:06.

from vertical, but, my goodness me, she cranks that start up a little

:12:07.:12:10.

too far away from the diving board, which means the control just drifts,

:12:11.:12:15.

the ankles moving away from vertical there. That is a good effort this

:12:16.:12:21.

morning from VV. Finished sixth after that last round, just watching

:12:22.:12:25.

the replay, we get a big smile and a wave.

:12:26.:12:31.

6.5s for Victoria Vincent and she will finish on 297.3, above Sarah

:12:32.:12:34.

Melissa Wu, back two and a half Barrow by seven points.

:12:35.:12:41.

Melissa Wu, back two and a half again.

:12:42.:12:51.

Better from Melissa Wu to finish, good entry into the water, hardly

:12:52.:12:56.

any splash being thrown up. good entry into the water, hardly

:12:57.:13:02.

with this now, many of the ladies deciding to finish with this one.

:13:03.:13:09.

The drop-down camera there gives you a real impression of

Tonia Couch going for something a little bit different.

Tonia Couch going for something a and a half somersaults with ten

:13:39.:13:43.

three to finish. She has made a little bit of an

:13:44.:13:49.

error. No mistakes on the start of the dive. It is a game of tactics

:13:50.:13:54.

now. This is her favourite dive, she normally puts it on her head for

:13:55.:14:02.

nines. She sales over with all the adrenaline she has pumping through

:14:03.:14:05.

her veins. She has just overcooked it and that means she will not top

:14:06.:14:10.

the leaderboard, she will be in second, which is fine. She has

:14:11.:14:14.

qualified, 337 is still a good score and we want to see that dive in the

:14:15.:14:19.

final, Tonia, you can smile, you are through.

:14:20.:14:23.

I like the naughty schoolgirl look she has when she has done something

:14:24.:14:28.

wrong or has had a dive that did not go the way she wanted it.

:14:29.:14:38.

Pandelela Rinong Pamg, the back two and a half somersaults.

:14:39.:14:43.

Good work, I think that will put her about some of her competitors, that

:14:44.:14:49.

is a great dive to finish on. 3.2 degrees of difficulty. She has been

:14:50.:14:53.

there or thereabouts all morning. Straight up and down. Such a neat

:14:54.:15:02.

and tidy diver. She will be difficult to beat later. Please tune

in later for the final, wherever you are.

:15:09.:15:13.

There is a question for you, we have joint leaders, saw who goes last

tonight? Good question. Exactly the same

:15:23.:15:29.

mark, do they have two toss a coin for it?

:15:30.:15:30.

Rock, paper, scissors, maybe? Last one up with the inward three

:15:31.:15:39.

and a half somersaults with ten three.

:15:40.:15:45.

What a shame, coming out of the diver little early there. A little

:15:46.:15:49.

bit scared, I guess, as she swings around. Wants to get the dive done,

:15:50.:15:53.

just older bit too keen to be out. Short of vertical. The splash being

:15:54.:16:00.

thrown up coming back towards us there. That is how it finishes.

:16:01.:16:44.

Joint winners. Both of them on C where the English divers are. They

:16:45.:16:46.

will come back for the final. If you want to see the final, it

Let us hand over to the commentary team. Chris Boardman and Simon

Brotherton. 60 riders in total going in

:20:35.:20:51.

ascending order. The first group went out after half past 12. There

:20:52.:20:59.

was a gap until the second group set off. The last rider, David Millar,

:21:00.:21:07.

the defending champion at 28 minutes past two. Michael Hutchinson from

Northern Ireland is far from the end.

This was the first meant for Chris Froome as he was going up in Kenya.

-- mentor. He is well into his ride after being

:21:42.:21:53.

in the saddle for 45 minutes. He has about ten minutes left to keep

:21:54.:21:57.

riding. It could be a little bit less than that. The second part of

:21:58.:22:02.

the course is considerably faster. He is well on his way back into

:22:03.:22:07.

town. The roads are much bigger and dropping as we approach the River

:22:08.:22:08.

Clyde. The rider from the one that is the

:22:09.:22:23.

fastest of the early starters so far. Nobody flew to the finishing

:22:24.:22:29.

line yet. The fathers for what is the rider from Gibraltar. The sun is

:22:30.:22:44.

shining here but as you may have seen from earlier, different parts

:22:45.:22:48.

of the course, a matter of minutes apart, are enjoying very different

:22:49.:22:57.

weather conditions today. One minute to be large puddles at the side of

:22:58.:23:03.

the road, the rain bashing for the camera lens, and then the sun is out

:23:04.:23:09.

a few minutes later. For the first time ever, the road is bone dry. On

:23:10.:23:24.

the latter part of the course they will face a cross headwind back into

:23:25.:23:30.

town. Is the wind a major factor today, Chris? There are some large,

:23:31.:23:37.

exposed search actions in the middle third of this course. We are calling

:23:38.:23:44.

it a descent but it really is a false flat. It is slightly downhill

:23:45.:23:51.

in steps. Nothing too strong at the moment. It is about five miles per

:23:52.:23:59.

hour at the finish line. It is the luck of the draw which bit you

:24:00.:24:07.

happen to get. We can see Francis of Gibraltar. The weather conditions he

:24:08.:24:10.

has experience are completely different today. He will be heading

:24:11.:24:18.

up to the time check at 17.1 kilometres. 24 minutes, 25 seconds

:24:19.:24:37.

as the fastest time. He might slip outside of the top ten. This race

:24:38.:24:50.

goes in ascending order. All of the big favourites are

goes in ascending order. All of the on the road. One of the riders from

:24:53.:25:10.

Kenny had and then he had problems with his

pedal. After a lengthy stoppage, they try to see if they could make

:25:17.:25:20.

:25:21.:25:26.

things it did not seem like his shoes were compatible with the

:25:27.:25:33.

pedals on the bike. He had to disappear into the back of the

:25:34.:25:39.

Kenyan team car. This is now the rider from Belize. There's a big

:25:40.:25:57.

spread of abilities. Course at the front but there's a lot of people

:25:58.:26:02.

competing for the first time. That is Alexandra Park on the right-hand

:26:03.:26:17.

side if you know Glasgow. This was a section of the course where Linda

:26:18.:26:20.

was able to gain a few seconds on Emma earlier today. None of the 60

:26:21.:26:40.

riders have yet set a time to beat. We will be having the first rider

:26:41.:26:44.

across the finishing line in two or three minutes from now.

:26:45.:26:51.

We get an action replay. I could see that one coming. It is very

:26:52.:27:17.

slippery. You can see the changing conditions. We are straight back

:27:18.:27:23.

onto a sunny road. It is like we are splicing together footage from

:27:24.:27:28.

different days. We can assure you it is all happening alive. He is

:27:29.:27:31.

huddling down the Cumbernauld Road, back towards the East End. -- her

:27:32.:28:14.

billing. We are just a few hundred yards from the Sir Chris Hoy

:28:15.:28:21.

Velodrome. Pressing on into the city centre were big crowds are waiting.

:28:22.:28:25.

The big finish is here at Glasgow Green. Back with Mark Francis. 15th

:28:26.:28:38.

fastest at 17.1 kilometres. He is 1.48 minutes down on the rider from

:28:39.:28:45.

the wind. He had a little slip of the gears there. He is over halfway

:28:46.:28:57.

through his pain trial now. It is added height towards the end of the

:28:58.:29:02.

course, that is why they are getting more rain. I think he is near

:29:03.:29:16.

Moodiesburn at the moment. It is good to see so many people coming

:29:17.:29:32.

out to cheer the cyclists on. I think he is going to set a fast,

:29:33.:29:37.

early time. Nobody yet is over the line at the finish. He is nearly two

:29:38.:29:47.

minutes clear of the next rider. I think whatever marquee sets will

:29:48.:30:04.

stand for some considerable time. The 30-year-old from Gibraltar will

:30:05.:30:08.

be the first person to cross the line. They do a sweeping socket of

:30:09.:30:15.

the finish. This is about 45 seconds of riding to do when we pick them

:30:16.:30:33.

up. That corner can be tricky with some paving slabs, but now he is

:30:34.:30:39.

coming up the finishing straight. Julian Bellido will set the time to

:30:40.:30:43.

beat. 26 in this race four years ago in

:30:44.:30:48.

Delhi, 35th in Melbourne back in 2006. Here he is in Glasgow the

:30:49.:30:52.

first rider the crowds have seen. The crowds come as you can see,

:30:53.:30:57.

absolutely packed in your for this finish in the men's road time

:30:58.:31:05.

trial. The first rider in, and with one rider who we certainly know will

:31:06.:31:08.

not finish, by my reckoning probably 58 to go.

:31:09.:31:13.

He will be after his own personal best here, but, as you say, not

:31:14.:31:18.

vying for the podium spot today. This should be Jon Eley Hadi from

:31:19.:31:29.

Rwanda. -- Jean-Louis Hadi. -- Janvier.

:31:30.:31:34.

All of these corners are dry at the moment, could change any second.

:31:35.:31:38.

We can see here the change in the roads around the park, changes in

:31:39.:31:43.

width and surface. While they are dry it is not bad for the riders,

:31:44.:31:50.

but any hint of rain at all and it can become really quite

:31:51.:31:53.

treacherous. This is the one that takes a lot of them by surprise.

:31:54.:32:06.

David Kinjah Njau riding for Kenya. He is such an important figure in

:32:07.:32:14.

Kenyan cycling. For many years now, he has helped so many people.

:32:15.:32:23.

They have gained an appreciation of cycling and improved their lives

:32:24.:32:28.

through cycling. There he is coming into the finishing area. It will be

:32:29.:32:33.

the fastest time when he gets here, but I do not think it will be the

:32:34.:32:41.

fastest for long, because John VA Hadi -- Jean-Louis Hadi of the land

:32:42.:32:44.

that is not far behind him on the finishing circuit.

:32:45.:32:52.

He has lost a bit of in closing stages. -- impetus. Now it is

David Kinjah Njau, up towards the line, you will

average of 42 kilometres per hour riding a road bike with some

:34:10.:34:13.

Christopher Symons from Ghana, the rider who actually did finish the

triathlon in 30 First Place at the start of the game. Here he is now

:34:31.:34:38.

Tough, tough course, this. Janvier Hadi, so far of those out on

:34:39.:34:42.

the course at the moment, looks to me to be some considerable distance

:34:43.:34:55.

ahead of everyone else. I think his time will sit there for quite a

while. This is Marvin Spencer from Antigua and Barbados. -- Antigua and

:36:12.:36:27.

:36:28.:36:32.

Really pushing hard in the closing stages of this one. Final corner

:36:33.:36:35.

coming up. Well, fair to say I don't think he

:36:36.:36:48.

will have too much more left in the tank when he crosses the line and

:36:49.:36:55.

you cannot ask for more than that. He is looking pretty spent. Totally

:36:56.:37:01.

spent. Will he get here in just under an hour? It will be close, and

:37:02.:37:06.

he will make it. Just under the hour mark. But, as you can see already,

:37:07.:37:14.

Janvier Hadi's time still stands and he is way, way up, over five minutes

:37:15.:37:20.

clear of Joel Borland. This is the first of the riders from

:37:21.:37:22.

Guyana, Marlon Williams. He has been taking his bike racing

:37:23.:37:32.

really seriously this year coming he says he has lost ?21 weight -- 21

:37:45.:37:49.

They start to come into the finishing area thick and fast now.

:37:50.:38:01.

The next one we can see here but Michael Kris Pradel.

:38:02.:38:21.

Kris Pradel, infuse you we received by those lining the finishing

:38:57.:39:00.

hour for this ride, just over four minutes down on Janvier Hadi.

:39:01.:39:08.

So far, nine riders have come in across the line. The rider there,

:39:09.:39:15.

number 45, is Dominique Mayho from Bermuda.

:39:16.:39:23.

You can see the tall it is taking, this course, on the riders. Their

:39:24.:39:29.

body language is completely different towards the end of this

:39:30.:39:33.

race, really fatiguing circuit. The rough surfaces just the muscles. --

second-fastest, one minute and a half down on Janvier Hadi. Ten three

:40:15.:40:24.

:40:25.:40:32.

Ten three looks to be riding very steadily, but in fact he just has a

:40:33.:40:38.

very efficient style, stayed in position, I don't not think we have

:40:39.:40:41.

seen him come out opposition for the entire day.

:40:42.:40:53.

He has looked very good so far. Samuel Anim from Ghana, the national

:40:54.:40:57.

road race champion of Ghana five years ago. The Ayr Road cycling team

:40:58.:41:08.

out to cheer them in the last few weeks after having got to know them.

:41:09.:41:17.

They have an acclimatisation camp in Ayr put up by the local council.

:41:18.:41:28.

45 is Dominique Mayho from Bermuda. Here at Glasgow Green. Circling

:41:29.:41:33.

around the technical area around the commentary positions, past the

:41:34.:41:37.

funfair. The wind is really blowing now, it

:41:38.:41:47.

is in their face as they come into the park and it is aiding them up

:41:48.:41:53.

this finishing straight. Unpredictable and billowing, as Anim

:41:54.:41:56.

comes towards the line seventh fastest.

:41:57.:42:00.

The best sprint of the day, though. He just beat his team-mate and

:42:01.:42:06.

compatriot, Christopher Symons. The two riders from Ghana are in as we

:42:07.:42:09.

wait here for Dominique Mayho from Bermuda.

:42:10.:42:15.

This is a very respectable time here.

:42:16.:42:17.

Third quickest at the last time check. One minute and three quarters

:42:18.:42:25.

down on Janvier Hadi, roughly. He will not challenge the leader, but

:42:26.:42:30.

he will be up towards the top of the leaderboard, Janvier Hadi the leader

:42:31.:42:33.

in the clubhouse. He could move into second place

:42:34.:42:38.

here. In fact, I think he will. He looks to be finishing strongly with

:42:39.:42:43.

just over 250 metres to go. Just one straight sprint to the line

Strong finish. Finishing in one hour six minutes. Just over 11.5 minutes

this one going. He could get the second fastest time as he comes

towards the finish. He does indeed do that. He is a couple of minutes

:56:09.:56:16.

We were quite surprised when we came and saw the circuit and the width of

this. There's the possibility in the road race that we will see a road

for the time trial but it is apparently for the road race as
