Staggering, I could not believe it. When we saw the pictures. The

describe how bad his behaviour is and what will happen next we will

have to wait and see. We saw earlier in the game, they clattered into him

a few times the defenders, but to react like that is a disgrace. On

world stage, he should never play international football again. I have

got a reaction from Giorgio Chiellini which says that after the

game, he said it was ridiculous not to send Luis Suarez off, it is clear

cut and there was the obvious dive after words because he knew he had

done something he should not have. I can understand why the referee has

not seen it clearly, it is difficult and he has got a hard enough job,

but they can look at it, look at video evidence. This is pretty

damning. For me there is no way they can get away with it. We initially

thought it was a head-butt. But when you saw the pictures down and you

see him, going to the shoulder. We saw it on Ivanovic, Chelsea against

Liverpool. This is the third time, a few years ago and Holland and

against Ivanovic. If you watch this year, he did exactly the same thing

to day, he feigns injury. To try and deflect, to take away, the referee

from making a decision. We have looked that it enough times over the

past few months. To do it again, what on earth is he thinking? It was

0-0 at that time, not long to go, he was getting frustrated, and he wants

to bite people when he goes mad. I think there is something not quite

right with them, and I mean that in the nicest way, I think something

triggers and he can't control it. I think in the celebrations after

words he was a bit sheepish as if it had sunk in. He was in tears after

they beat England but today that this spot on, he was subdued in his

celebrations because he realises what he has done. He must do

otherwise he would be going berserk with the celebrations. You have

already said that you think he should be banned for life, from

international football, but this is what Fifa RCN which is not munch --

RCN. We are awaiting the official match report and will gather all the

I think Colombia have been really impressive without Radamel Falcao.

Rodriguez has stepped up and taken his place, laid really, really well.

placed, they are best placed. Yes, but they have been disappointing as

Toure, but I expect them to step up to the plate. Good to see him, he

changed the game when he came on. Subdued entrance from the players as

you might expect under the circumstances yes, terrible

for still being here and being prepared to come out and play. The

performances of Colombia have impressed one of their greatest

players who has been talking to Dan Walker. How impressed have you been

Unbelievable the Mexican officials did not see the incident. It is like

referee did not. It has been boiling over, the whole game. Uruguay get a

After the game, the Italian coach, Prandelli offered his resignation, I

am not sure if it has been accepted. For the second time running, Italy

go out of the group stage. Yes, they did not offer a great deal. Uruguay

sat in, frustrated them. Pirlo shined against England, did not

shine today. If you missed it, we showed the bite, quite closely,

worth having another look. For people who have just come in. Quite

a staggering story. Danny? What he does here, for no reason, sinking

his teeth into the shoulder of Chiellini, he tries to get him off,

then he plays the victim, which we have seen before. The boy who cried

wolf, we did not believe that straightaway. There is absolutely no

excuse for that, no matter what has been said before... That is the

clearest shot. The worst thing is playing the victim. He goes down

holding his teeth. In the context of the game... Yes, the referee did not

see it, we understand that. He should have gone, that would have

levelled it up. Buffon had made a good save against him. 5-6 minutes

earlier. It is obvious, when things are going against him, they are run

their way out of the World Cup, he lost it. He should play with that

around his mouth. FIFA and use retrospective action, torso and

brings -- Frings. The executive committee can examine serious

incidents which have escaped the referee's attention. They have that

area where they can come in and do something. Serious was the word. It

was serious. Ironically, two minutes later, Uruguay scored the winning

goal. A fantastic header from Diego Godin. I'm surprised the Italians

had nobody on the post. I'm sure if someone was on there, they may have

cleared it away. He has done before, any Champions League final,

against Barcelona, he is a threat, he has got the goal. You could make

the argument he should not have been playing, if he had got the two

yellow cards against England. Let's remember, the Italians only needed a

draw, the indiscipline with the sending-off, that has cost them. You

can blame Suarez, he should have been playing, you shouldn't, but if

you cannot control your own players, you had to look at it. A

chance to see how England fared against Costa Rica in Belo

Belo Horizonte. We knew England were going home anyway but they are going

home without a win to their name. It is not England's story, it is Costa

Rica 's. In a group with three former World Cup winners and they

have only gone and won it. Italy out in the group stage for the

second World Cup in succession. The first time England have finished

bottom and winless since 1958. We will hear from Roy Hodgson later in

the programme, but overall one point from three games, going home, very

disappointing. Yes, not good enough at all to be honest. Created one or

two chances to date that lacked the killer and spent. -- lacked the

killer instinct. It is very difficult to take anything from the

game today because Costa Rica, it was like a preseason friendly for

them, they had qualified and did not want to get any injuries or sendings

off. Played sensible football and did enough, but difficult to judge

how good or per England where. -- pleura. --

Daniel Sturridge was decent again without the final finish. I was

pleased for Frank Lampard. I think he has given so much to England over

the years, leading the country out in his last game was the right thing

to do. Did he do the right thing Irving dies a game just because they

came to the World Cup, or because others had not done what they were

meant? He thinks that most of the guys who have played had a future so

he has given them a chance. Jack Wilshere, Ross Barkley, Phil Jones

could cement a place if he improves with Manchester United. I think he

is trying to give them experience. Robbie you have quite a strong view

on Roy Hodgson? I think managerial changes are needed, England in the

same position tournament after tournament. Get a structure in place

like other international countries, get other people involved. Get Gary

Neville involved. If you have Glenn Hoddle at the top of the pyramid who

is conducting it, getting a structure in place with every team

playing the same. Implement a structure so every team can build of

that. I think Roy Hodgson has gone to the tournament, does not know

where to play his best player, Raheem Sterling has a great first

game and he puts him out on the right in the second game. I think

they have gone into a tournament again, but the wife he played Frank

Lampard and James Milner today -- don't know why he played. There were

not many complaints from people saying we should have brought

different players. We brought the best players. The best players they

have got and they are out with a whimper. Gary Neville is part of the

setup. We will continue this argument later in the programme.

More on England later but let's turn our attention to tonight 's games as

Greece play Ivory Coast and Colombia meet Japan. The group winners will

play Uruguay on Saturday whilst the runners up will play Costa Rica on

Sunday. You can see Colombia against Japan on BBC Three. Colombia already

proved but need a point to win the group, Japan have to win and hope.

Here on BBC One the focus is on Greece against Ivory Coast. The

Ivorian 's have never reached the second round of World Cup and now

that Victor Vito night will guarantee qualification. The Greeks

have to win and hope that Japan do not.

Good evening, welcome back to Fortaleza for another Europe against

Africa clash. Just a few days ago and almost beat Germany --

Ivory Coast have gone for Didier Drogba and less Wilfried Bony on the

bench, is that the correct call? -- left. Yes, it is very warm here and

I think the older man will benefit from starting rather than coming on.

Wilfried Bony will play some part, he is younger and fresher and can

come on. Didier Drogba is the go to man. We expect to see Wilfried Bony

at some point, if Greece have to face him and Didier Drogba how do

you go about that? Gervinho is the standout player for me, he has been

outstanding, he will be creating the chances. So many options, and Greece

have to win tonight. One assumes they will come out and try to play.

The Greek coach said he will not change the defence of approach but

they have got to go out and win today? You are wondering who will

score the goals, he has no option, not many options at the top of the

team, Samaras might play up the top in a central position for once.

Thank you, interesting, Fernando Santos the Greek coach said

yesterday he would not be bothered by what happened in the other match

and would prepare for this match like any other, going to bed early

after a few cigarettes, obviously we don't endorse that lifestyle. If

Ivory Coast are to qualify tonight a lot will hinge on the performance of

Kolo Toure and Yaya Toure who are playing despite the death of the

brother. Dan Walker reports. Representing your country at the

World Cup is meant to be the pinnacle of our players career, but

for the Touray brothers it has been a traumatic time. They will stay

despite the death of their younger brother. He died of cancer on

Thursday and was only 28, and very difficult time for the family.

Finding the focus for tonight 's game will not be easy. But the

players know a win will guarantee qualification to the knockout stages

for the first time. In Germany and South Africa they showed great

promise in difficult groups. In Brazil they are evolving. They may

still count on experience but are starting to look to the future to

complement their vast array of talent. And there are not many more

talented than Yaya Toure. The World Cup is very important for me and for

my country, you have to do something for these people because I am

fighting for them as well because I represent my country when I am

playing in Europe and I represent the continent of Africa because I

see myself as a proper African sun. Tonight's game is about much more

than football, these players have a chance to make history.

A real opportunity, Yaya Toure, one of the world's great footballers,

difficult circumstances. He finished the season with injury, not had a

fluid start of the World Cup. He has not been at his best, but he is a

big game player, but he will be doing it for his brother, and his

country, and I cannot see anything else but a win for the Ivory Coast.

He is now the main man, Drogba's legs are not what they were. They

should have too much for Greece. He is a wonderful footballer, I have

played against him, he has everything he needs to take them to

the next round. His brother in the team for the first time in the

tournament? Did not have is best season for Liverpool, still as

decent pace. Good experience. Such a tough game for them, or with the

passing of their brother. They are a side who has flattered to deceive

and the African cup of Nations -- in the African Cup of Nations. They

have players who can perform at the highest level. Look at the four

upfront, Drogba, Gervinho, Toure, that should be too much. Greece are

looking to make a knockout for the first time in their history.

These ecstatic scenes followed their 2004 European showmanship victory,

on the world stage they fall somewhat short. They did not reach

the World Cup until 1994, conceding ten goals, scoring one. Rewinding a

few thousand years, they can be amongst the first to claim to play

football. Their style of play is considered old-fashioned, facing

their game on the defensive style favoured by their former coach. They

do have goals and Kostas Mitroglou, but well celebrations such as in

Athens, appear slim. This is the starting line-up,

Karnezis in goal, playing all their qualifiers.

The back four and changed, the Italians will look to you --

attacked the left-back. Carried Yunis, the veteran comes in --

carried Yunis. Salpingidis comes in meaning Samaras moved inside to

centre forward. This is a side that has to have a go. I am not sure they

have the talent to do that, we have seen them sitting. You can see

defensively, they spend most of their time there. I know they played

a lot of the game with ten men. They have to go out and give it one final

go. Whether they can? I don't know. Samaras has had some good moments in

his career. He is not a bad player in his day, but that day is not too

often. Sometimes he flattered to deceive. Either the best of the

worst, very rarely in the middle. No consistency. I think the Greeks have

a problem, the game that I saw, they lacked urgency, they had no place or

athleticism. They play to their strengths, that is the defence. They

have no way to play apart from making a girl. -- nicking a goal.

They do have a chance, that is more than England! Let's not discredit

them. That is a good point. Let's see how the Ivory Coast line-up.

consecutive games at the World Cup, quite an achievement. The two sides

The Greeks have a good chance. Three in a row. What about Drogba, great

to see him in the starting line-up? I thought Wilfried Bony was

fantastic in the Premier League, but Drogba is then inspiration, the

leader. In the Columbia game, he came on, the defenders, just with

his presence, his stature, they dropped off. Even though he is

similar to Bony, he has more respect from other players. Much more

difficult to start. Karagounis whispering to the coach. It is his

job to go out and tire them out. Creates spaces, go and finish them

off. Toure breaking off Karagounis, that could be massive. A reminder

Toure, who recently lost his battle against cancer. Didier Drogba

leading his team passed their opponents. This is the first meeting

starts at the first time -- for the first time in this World Cup. Both

Plenty on the line, a third successive exit at the group stage

would be a sad and frustrating outcome for this so-called Ivorian

golden generation, especially the Toure brothers in this week.

The Ivory Coast playing in all green, Martin Keown is alongside me

here. Drogba is the talking point, they go along to him. Can he turn up

in this World Cup? A much better idea starting him, 36, you want to

be starting games. Toure turned up less than fully fit at the start of

the World Cup, suffering from malaria. In four Didier Zokora. He

is suspended. Difficult for the Toure brothers, losing their brother

shows you how dedicated they are to their country. Greece have stood out

in this World Cup, a World Cup so full of goals, they have yet to find

the back of the net. Looks as if Samaras is playing in a central role

as we predicted. I have been crying out for him to play in that central

role throughout the tournament and finally they have done it. It is

unusual for him because Fernando Santos does tend to use him on the

left. He has not find the back of the net since the quarterfinal at

the Euros two years ago. Here Salpingidis. No Samaras. First touch

were Karagounis, leaving it for Christodoulopoulos.

Kolo Toure is therefore Ivory Coast. Decent start here for Greece but are

comfortable catch for the experienced Boubacar Barry. Greece

wanting to take the game to Ivory Coast straightaway. They had a lot

of success playing a certain style for all those years, the current

coach has said it has been hard to change the ethos of the team, saying

they try to be more attacking but end up back at their old ways, the

defensive strengths. You can understand it, they were so

successful, Karagounis is the spirit of the team, he will be the driving

force today. Sol Bamba playing at the back for Ivory Coast. Lovely

turn by Tiote, the Newcastle player. Here is Salomon Kalou. Leaving

Karagounis on the floor. Right across the face of the penalty area

from Cheick Tiote. Drogba does not really react, should be going after

that. Head in his hands. Early chance for him, good ball. Who would

play up front for Ivory Coast really dominated their preparation.

Alongside the trauma surrounding the death of Toure. Whether it would be

Drogba upfront or whether Wilfried Bony of Swansea City would keep his

Drogba, that is what he does excellently and we don't talk about

it enough, how many centre forwards comeback and switch off? Not this

players, deeper the moment. Ivory Coast really pushing on. We were to

on, Drogba gaining ground, first touch of the match for Gervinho on

the far side. Salomon Kalou in the centre. It will be given as a goal

full-back and he can get on the end of one of his crosses, but not this

time. Drogba has had his injury problems recently but he is still

play. Very promising young player, just 21 years old but has been

playing first-team football in France for the last 4-mac seasons.

Fernando Santos will be heading on to pastures new after this

tournament. Sabri Lamouchi, did well to keep his

job after they went out in the quarterfinals of the African cup of

Nations last year. Had the support of some of the key senior players,

men like Didier Drogba who carry such influence. Not done well in the

African Nations, this is a last chance saloon for Drogba. They have

been labelled a golden generation for some time this group of players

for Ivory Coast, but it has not quite happen for them and they have

not coped terribly well in the big pressure matches. Looks to me like a

different Ivory Coast in the early games of this competition so far. It

is extremely warm here tonight so give them some sympathy. The Greeks

will try to kill the game. Holebas does not start his career as a

full-back so no surprise to see him Halep in forward at every

opportunity. -- see him galloping. Nice touch, lovely combination,

fluid football from Ivory Coast but Greece managed to survive. Good

piece of defending by Kostas Manolas who got across. Beautiful play.

Gervinho has got some pace. Just getting in his way. See him

recovering there, good to see proper defending, protecting the ball. Out

for a corner. Good move. First corner of the game goes to the

African side. Plenty of bodies forward. Including Sol Bamba. Easily

cleared away. Salomon Kalou, off the head of

Papastathopoulos. Salomon Kalou apologising. He scored

in the last minute of the play-off game against Senegal which secured

the place for Ivory Coast at this World Cup. Not quite working for

Gervinho this time. Injury in the centre of the field. It is planning

to scorn who is down. -- it is Kone. That is a big blow. He is good on

the ball. A few pockets of Greek supporters inside the stadium here.

They are going to have to make a change early in this match. Just ten

minutes played. Karagounis signalling that a substitution will

be required. Kone on his feet. Let's see if he can carry on.

I think the answer is probably not. Andreas Samaris looks like he's

getting ready to come on for him. He will come on for his sixth cap, a

well thought of 24-year-old midfielder. Won a starting place at

Olympiacos this season. Good, athletic player, but still something

is guilty of giving the ball away a little too often. Real frustration

and disappointment for Kone. Nothing worse for a player, all the

preparation and suddenly your hamstring goes, nothing you can do

about it. It is your worst nightmare.

Such a powerful player, Yaya Toure. Awkward one as well, just a yard

away from reaching Drogba. Quality, teasing ball into the area. Just

cannot get Drogba onto the end of it. Drogba starts the move, showing

his intent tonight, nice and sharp. We have seen one or two promising

moves going forward from Ivory Coast so far.

Another awkward one. Boubacar Barry did well to cling on under pressure.

Excellent goalkeeping. Has not been a feature of this World Cup, but

look at this from a teasing cross, bravery at the feet of the player.

No fear at all. Brilliant. Love to see goalkeepers coming there,

dictating. Salomon Kalou has been involved in a

lot of the play in the early stages. He is coming in off the

line, they are not fixed, they are coming in, Gervinho as well, Yaya

Toure floating around, a lot of options.

Return was just a little loose. Gervinho has just been a little bit

sloppy at times, getting into good areas they're not making it count.

Gervinho as Danny Murphy was saying looking to score for the third match

in a row. No African player has managed to score in three games in a

row at a World Cup before. Was just not able to steer his shot on

was a bit wild. That came from a mistake by Bamba, that bit sloppy

Katsouranis and the only surviving members in the squad. Problems for

efficient, he can get forward, he has put some good crosses in.

Holebas had a tough time against Colombia, Japan also pushed the ball

in that area in the second match. Not so good defending as he is

getting forward. Holebas, to take the throw. Looking for Samaras. Die

with a swing of the boot. Papastathopoulos has had an

excellent first season with Borussia Dortmund. Toure is there, Serge

Aurier helps it on. Ivory Coast need to press a little bit higher, test

the Greeks a little bit, how good is their touch? They are in no hurry.

Some promising signs when they broke forward, Arthur Barker in space.

Gervinho bursting to the edge of the penalty area. Muscled out of it by

the Greek defence. -- Boka. Drogba's touch into Kalou. Yaya

Toure. Went a bit wide, Drogba. In the end, it goes for a goal kick.

For a moment, the Ivory Coast looks like they may create a scoring

opportunity. This is Yaya Toure's strength, but he overplays it. I

wondered if he may pull the trigger himself. He lacks to pass, he should

have shot. Too much on it. Drogba cannot reach those these days, not

the pacey used to have. Midway through the first half, no goals,

neither keeper forced into making a decent save. Canis Khan

Karnezis coming off, Glykos is coming on. The biggest match of his

career. Wow! It is about getting experience. He will certainly be

under pressure, interesting to see how he handles it. Whether that will

encourage Ivory Coast to shoot from distance, we have seen some shoddy

goalkeeping in this tournament. Santos, the Greek coach almost out

of options with three quarters of the match to go.

Falling to Tiote, he is unable to pick out his team-mate, Salomon

Kalou. Here is Samaras, close down quickly, a little over

enthusiastically. I wonder how much time the referee will add on. It is

really killed the game, the brakes. It has not got going at all, so far.

Both teams have a lot to play for. Greece could still qualify. As well

as Ivory Coast. In by Karagounis. They don't really look like they

want to qualify, Greece. Up toward Salpingidis, he will not win an

aerial jewel with Sol Bamba. -- duel.

Difficult when you have players on yellow cards, and have made

substitutions. Love is in the air Fortaleza. Serge Aurier, for the

Ivory Coast. The path forward is blocked. Kolo Toure.

Bamba does not know what to do with it. He has tried to give it a

Drogba. A difficult ball for him to deal with. The World Cup has not

been kind to Didier Drogba commie had a broken arm before the

tournament in South Africa, four years ago, restricted to two

half-hour appearances in these games here. He is an iconic figure in his

country, around the world, you want to see the big players perform. He

has been awesome at times. Playing on his own, playing like two men. A

ball from Gervinho. Lovely touch from Samaras. Salpingidis going

through the centre. Maniatis in space. Support on the far side will

get the ball. Here is Torosidis. A squad player with Roma. This is

better, the Greeks are trying to play some football. A little

argument on the far side of the pitch, involving Serge Aurier. And I

think, Holebas. Torosidis is down. Stopping play without the whistle.

Gervinho stumbling into trouble. I think he has given it for the early

for -- earlier foul. Robbie Savage was talking about the great start

Gervinho made with Roma, playing for Rudi Garcia, the Kochi played within

France. Seems to help his play, he has responded to that. Eden Hazard

said Gervinho was one of the best players he ever played with. When it

comes inside, he is an improving player. Maybe it was one that has

got away from Arsene Wenger. First touch for Glykos. Papastathopoulos.

Samaris, cannot keep the ball in play. A bit of rhythm there. The

fans in good spirits, as it stands, their team will go through with

Colombia. A timely stumble from Yaya Toure. -- and untimely. Salpingidis.

A throw in to Greece. Papastathopoulos, winning his 50th

cap tonight. Boka, only five feet, five, comfortable heading the ball

away. Here is Salpingidis, who scored against Nigeria, the one win

that Greece have enjoyed in their World Cup campaigns, this is their

third one. Never managing to get out of the group. They need to get good

delivery in these areas, Samaras is a big man.

Karagounis sliding in and conceding the floor. Half an hour gone, the

vote is closed on the team that you think will join Columbia in the last

16. Result is and discussion coming up at half-time. Columbia beating

Japan 1-0, Cuadrado with a penalty. have not seen Aurier are getting

forward much so far. Kalou points to where he wants it

and almost got it right where he wanted it. It was a timely

interception by Torosidis. Lovely little ball in, just putting bend on

it, so nearly gets to his runner. Good defending. Corner if I --

corner for Ivory Coast here, into the last 15 minutes of this half.

Yaya Toure across to take this one. Drogba right on the goalkeepers toes

in the six yard box. It goes in towards the Ivorian captain, headed

away, Cheick Tiote diving in. Comfortably cleared. Greece can

trip. Greece denied the opening goal by the crossbar. Where did that come

from? On the break. Just plays it into the channel, you think Kolo

Toure is going to get there, thunderous effort. Watch Samaras

here as he goes down inside the penalty area. As the ball comes back

out, Samaras hitting the ground, Greece with an opportunity here,

from just outside the penalty area. Almost out of nothing wasn't it?

A big let off there, a warning. Can Greece now start to build up a head

of steam? In the latter stages of the first half. They almost lull you

into a false sense of security and then break with numbers. Yaya Toure

still arguing with the referee. Holebas looks as if he fancies this.

Karagounis there as well. Karagounis strikes it, Boubacar

Barry right behind the ball. How about the goalkeepers positioning

they are? It is right down his throat. Credit to him. Just

concentrated, great handling. Very good, very smart keeping. He has got

bags of experience, his eighth major tournament, his third World Cup,

Boubacar Barry. It is a let off for Ivory Coast. Aurier. It was a dry

heat during the day but the atmosphere is quite close now.

Gervinho trying to get back at him. Torosidis does well. Tiote sliding

in. Does so much work stopping the opposition before they can get to

the back line. Drogba now setting Ivory Coast on their way but it

breaks down as Kalou cannot put it into the stride of Yaya Toure.

Playing at the World Cup really is an icing on the cake of the career

of Karagounis. Odyssey does with the ball in, Salpingidis

The Greeks looking a bit stronger. Gervinho for Ivory Coast, away from

one but not from two. The challenge coming from Maniatis. Just not

happening for Gervinho. Nine goals in Italy this season. Strong

challenge thereby Drogba, it will be a yellow card. I feel sorry for

Drogba because he has got his eyes completely fixed on the ball, you

want the centre forward to backtrack for you. He may go off his feet,

going with one foot there for me and he makes contact with the ball. I

think it is the follow through which the referee sees. The referee is

quite close to it. That could be costly. He was not one of the Ivory

Coast players already on a booking, Sol Bamba and Cheick Tiote both are.

Now joined by Didier Drogba. Maniatis.

Ivory Coast taking too many touches. Keep shifting the opposition. Too

slow, not the intensity that you need. I know it is hot here but you

have got to get a grip of it, it is the same for both teams. Cheick

Tiote unable to find Yaya Toure. The Greek substitute goalkeeper has not

had much to do since coming on. The Greeks are very well organised, give

them credit for what they do, hard to break down.

there. Just hesitates for a moment. It is a free kick. Very soft

though. As soon as you raise your food these days, free kick. -- your

creating a very colourful scenes here off the pitch. Still awaiting

the first goal of the game on it. This is barely training ground pace.

I hope the referee is adding this time on.

This is where they need the white players to come deeper. Two

detached. -- the wide players. Nice touch into Salomon Kalou, it was a

little too intricate. I can see the idea, but the execution was poor.

Salomon Kalou able to run at Torosidis, Torosidis commits

himself, did not quite fall for Gervinho. It was Holebas who made

the challenge in the nick of time. The deflection coming off the

substitute Andreas Samaris. Great defending in the end. Glycosylated

very -- Glykos with a very comfortable save. Chance for Greece

to push forward now. Having a look at this shot hitting

the bar. Samaras just slips. It was some effort. Very unlucky.

Agony for Greece as they look for their first goal here in Brazil.

It was too short, here come Greece, Andreas Samaris the substitute with

a great chance and he buries it! With half-time on the horizon Greece

have their first goal at this World Cup. It is an awful mistake from

Tiote, just a sloppy pass. Have only got themselves to blame. All credit

to the Greeks, any mistakes they are on it in a flash. As things stand

that could be a very big goal indeed because Greece are now in second

place in the group. Columbia winning the group and Wellington night but

because of this goal here now police are up into second place. -- Greece

are. It is a mistake of their own making, the goalkeeper, he has got

to stand up there. He is angry, he could have done better. Andreas

Samaris off the bench earlier in the match and took his chance really

well. Greece who had earlier hit the bar now have the lead. A real test

of the metal of these Ivory Coast players. Will the Ivorian golden

generation go out in the group stage of a World Cup for the third time in

a role or can they fight back? -- in a row. This is a real wake-up call.

Ivory Coast could be caught out again here.

Great closing down there from the Greeks again, it is that turnover.

Indications are that we are heading towards four minutes of added time,

at least. Powerful stride, it is Yaya Toure in full flight, still

going. The block does not quite spin the way of Salomon Kalou. Yaya

Toure, Majestic, the little change of gear, power and pace, coming

inside, presence of mind, just cannot get the power. If he could

have lifted that one around the defender Edward have been a

sensational goal. The goalkeeper was wrong-footed.

Last few seconds of the opening 45 minutes. Down goes Salpingidis.

Scored their first ever World Cup goal with that win over Nigeria and

South Africa. -- in South Africa. Drogba saw that one out of play.

heels with that goal for Greece. They certainly are. Toure down the

throat of the defence, but Papastathopoulos will gobble those

up all day long. He is brilliant in the air, totally committed.

take their time at the end of the first half. There is no team better

at wasting time than the Greeks, they are so professional, know what

they want to do. It is up to the Ivory Coast to go and press them.

equalised. Right at the end of the first half. That means Colombia

would still be topping the group, Greece still in second place. A free

kick from Karagounis. That should be Barry's ball. As this first half

meanders to its conclusion. Whatever happens elsewhere, the Ivory Coast

need to get something out of this game. At the moment, the Ivory Coast

one point behind Greece. Torosidis is. -- Torosidis out of play. Some

good flicks, and touches from Gervinho, a tremendous run from

Toure, but sporadic moments to enjoy from the Ivory Coast. They have not

been able to build up their play in the normal manner. The referee blows

up for the Delhi macro half-time. Greece 45 minutes away from making

it to the knockout stages for the first time in their history. Andreas

This is us saying how poor Greece were, at that Ivory Coast should

have enough going forwards, but it has been roles reversed. Ivory Coast

lacking invention, pace, guys not attacking the ball. They have given

nothing to the game, Greece deserved to be ahead. It has gone exactly how

Greece would like, very tight, and the elusive goal. They have dealt

with setbacks, losing two players in the first art. One of the substance

scored the goal. -- first half. I'm not sure what Tiote is doing. Do not

players who played today had not played, there was another incentive

for us to try to prove to the manager that we are good enough and

we want to be around at this level, I think we done well. It was always

going to be difficult but we owed it to the fans, the supporters at home

have been incredible. You saw at the end, the enormous support they have

shown us throughout the tournament, it is immense and we cannot thank

them enough. But we are out of the competition, the lads are devastated

in that changing them. We have got to improve. Does this put you in any

clearer state of mind as to where your own international future lies?

It looks like England still need the older heads? I don't know, I said at

the other day, I really enjoy it, it is a hard thing to let go when you

love playing for your country, it is an amazing feeling. I will make a

judgement when the dust settles. It is funny, you have to retire now

rather than the manager doing it for you. In terms of young players, a

lot of young talent coming through, it was always realistically going to

be a bit early for most of those players and a bit late in the

careers of others, but the expectations were low before the

tournament so we could not really have expected too much more? But we

expected more than what we got. I don't think we expected to win the

tournament by any stretch of the imagination but I think we expected

to get out the group. I don't think there is any great teams, are

Uruguay and Kerry team? Costa Rica? -- a great team. I don't think so.

This was like a preseason friendly, Costa Rica had already qualified.

There are positive signs, young players who will now be given a

chance, and young players who are not in the squad and will hopefully

have time to get into the team and progress. Second-half about to kick

off so we will have to cut short our England conversation, we will rejoin

Martin Keown and Simon Brotherton. Ivory Coast currently heading home

but there could easily be at West here or in the match between Japan
