In a production that began 126 years ago, Queen's has seen eight leading

:00:38.:00:45.

men claim four titles. Some of the names may not be familiar now, but

:00:46.:00:57.

all were idols in their day. Today, one of those stars, Britain's Andy

:00:58.:01:01.

Murray, has the opportunity to eclipse the others and put his name

:01:02.:01:06.

in lights for a record fifth time. Co-star in this drama is Milos

:01:07.:01:11.

Raonic, his motivation? The chance to become only the second Canadian

:01:12.:01:15.

and the first for nearly 90 years to win here.

:01:16.:01:19.

The sub-plot sees both men coached by two award-winning directors -

:01:20.:01:24.

Raonic by John McEnroe, and Murray by Ivan Lendl. The stage is set, the

:01:25.:01:31.

cast are assembled. Only the plot remains unfinished.

:01:32.:01:36.

So, who will take centre stage? Will it be Milos or can Andy secure top

:01:37.:01:44.

billing above the magnificent seven? That is the big talking point here.

:01:45.:01:54.

There is always a buzz around the grounds on finals day. Those lucky

:01:55.:01:58.

enough to have a Centre Court ticket will enjoy what promises to be a

:01:59.:02:02.

fascinating match-up. Another of the big talking points has been the

:02:03.:02:05.

weather. After six days of rain and cloud, now everyone here is enjoying

:02:06.:02:11.

the sunshine and, of course, the famous Queen's hospitality.

:02:12.:02:17.

As for Murray, what an outstanding achievement it would be to move

:02:18.:02:25.

ahead of McEnroe, Becker, Hewitt and Roddick by winning five titles here.

:02:26.:02:28.

Andy Murray is on the brink of history. So today, one of the

:02:29.:02:32.

greatest returners in the game ever is up against one of the biggest

:02:33.:02:37.

servers. These two had a magnificent five-set thriller at the Australian

:02:38.:02:41.

Open this year. Now they are set to go head-to-head for the Aegon

:02:42.:02:44.

Championships. Looking forward to this. Two top

:02:45.:02:49.

tenners head-to-head. Peter Fleming and John Lloyd are with me. This is

:02:50.:02:53.

a great match-up, a contrast of styles, coaches in the corner, it

:02:54.:02:58.

has got everything? It really is. I think first of all, the question is,

:02:59.:03:04.

can either one of them really put enough returns of serve in play to

:03:05.:03:13.

make this a really riveting match? Milos's serve is, it might be second

:03:14.:03:17.

to none. He is right up there with Isner and Karlovic. As great a

:03:18.:03:21.

returner as Andy is, it will be tough for him. What about the

:03:22.:03:25.

history, the weight of history on Andy's shoulders? He covered it so

:03:26.:03:29.

well at Wimbledon, but he loves the game, he knows the game, and he know

:03:30.:03:33.

what is this would mean to move ahead of the great champions?

:03:34.:03:38.

Exactly. Players love records. Sometimes they play - I always love

:03:39.:03:41.

it when you see these tournaments where there will be someone at

:03:42.:03:46.

Wimbledon, his record will be broken, I hope that person breaks my

:03:47.:03:51.

record. Nonsense! When you get a record, you love a record. Andy

:03:52.:03:53.

Murray would love to break this record. It would be a place in

:03:54.:03:57.

history, someone may never do that again. Why not? When you look at who

:03:58.:04:02.

has achieved it, it's a who's who of tennis. It shows how difficult it

:04:03.:04:09.

is? McEnroe, Becker, Hewitt, Roddick, these are Roy Emmerson,

:04:10.:04:16.

these are huge names in tennis. It's a British event as well. That is a

:04:17.:04:23.

big deal for Andy. So, he's up for this. I think perhaps Raonic even

:04:24.:04:29.

more so because, of course, he's never won a grass court tournament

:04:30.:04:35.

and this is the first week he is playing with John McEnroe and he

:04:36.:04:39.

likes having him around. He's been playing very well. We have got Andy

:04:40.:04:43.

Murray, the defending champion, the number one seed, up against the

:04:44.:04:47.

number three seed, Milos Raonic. Let's take a look at how the two got

:04:48.:04:55.

through to this fascinating final. Andy Murray began the defence of his

:04:56.:05:00.

crown against Nicolas Mahut, who had beaten him here before. Two tough

:05:01.:05:08.

tie-breaks followed, but there was to be no shock this time. Milos

:05:09.:05:13.

Raonic had to come from behind and come back the next day to see off

:05:14.:05:19.

Nick Kyrgios. In Round Two, Murray held court with

:05:20.:05:23.

a fellow Briton for the first time in a decade. However, Aljaz Bedene

:05:24.:05:28.

was dispatched without too much fanfare. Imperial service was the

:05:29.:05:35.

order of the day when Raonic faced lucky loser Jiri Vesely, but the

:05:36.:05:41.

Czech's luck ran out. The quarterfinals saw Murray face

:05:42.:05:45.

his heir-apparent in Kyle Edmund. He put up a real fight but the king of

:05:46.:05:53.

Queen's was in no mood to abdicate just yet. An hour was needed for

:05:54.:06:02.

Raonic to reach the last four, beating Roberto Bautista Agut. The

:06:03.:06:07.

semifinal between Queen's winner Murray and Marin Cilic was a battle

:06:08.:06:11.

royal, worthy of the Grand Slam Champions they are. The Scot came

:06:12.:06:15.

away with the honours. Raonic had not been broken all week and that

:06:16.:06:19.

continued as he lauded it over Australian Bernard Tomic to reach

:06:20.:06:23.

the final. It was a comfortable win for the Canadian, who was served

:06:24.:06:25.

notice that he is ready to rule. Both players have been out

:06:26.:06:35.

practising. Andy, John, going through the ground shots. I'm sure

:06:36.:06:39.

he will be hitting a lot of returns and getting a big serve at him. It

:06:40.:06:48.

seems like a tight and well-oiled machine that team, doesn't it? It's

:06:49.:06:57.

a good combination. Jamie Delgado has proved himself as a coach now.

:06:58.:07:03.

You bring Lendl into it, he is brilliant out there. A great history

:07:04.:07:07.

with Andy? A great history with Andy. It's a good combination. Jamie

:07:08.:07:13.

will learn a lot from Ivan Lendl in this group. It's a tightly knit

:07:14.:07:17.

group. They will do very well together. What about... As far as

:07:18.:07:22.

Lendl goes, he can talk to Andy about the Grand Slams and the big

:07:23.:07:27.

matches, as he did when he worked with him two years ago? Yes, I think

:07:28.:07:32.

that because they have such a rich history together, it will be

:07:33.:07:35.

interesting to see how that progresses, how they can go even

:07:36.:07:40.

further because, of course, they did split up in circumstances where I

:07:41.:07:45.

think one or the other had had enough. So what's changed that makes

:07:46.:07:54.

it now fresh again? But there are very few players that understand

:07:55.:07:57.

tactics and strategy the way Andy Murray does. He is... He is a

:07:58.:08:06.

great... He is an expert at that. So in much the same way Boris brings a

:08:07.:08:11.

bit extra to Djokovic, that is what Ivan is doing. He is saying a word

:08:12.:08:16.

or two here or there that might help settle him, or might give him a

:08:17.:08:22.

different perspective on something. I don't think... The way it might

:08:23.:08:26.

have been five years ago, do that, do this - it is very much a team

:08:27.:08:31.

thing. Andy sits down with his team with Ivan and with Jamie to watch a

:08:32.:08:35.

lot of videos to learn what he needs to do against the players. Let's

:08:36.:08:40.

hear from Jamie. John Inverdale caught up with him.

:08:41.:08:45.

On occasions like this, are you nervous, excited, a combination? It

:08:46.:08:50.

is excitement. The start of a grass-court season on a surface that

:08:51.:08:54.

Andy loves. He's coming in with a lot of form. Are you a very good

:08:55.:08:59.

actor? Watching you at the side of the court, you are not portraying

:09:00.:09:06.

much emotions? You are living every single point. Ups and downs, as Andy

:09:07.:09:10.

is on the court. On the side of the court, it is good for Andy to see a

:09:11.:09:15.

bit of level-headedness, even though you will be living every point. You

:09:16.:09:21.

are thinking about what he is not doing, and I do try and keep a bit

:09:22.:09:25.

of a calmness to the proceedings on the side. Everybody is fascinated by

:09:26.:09:31.

the relationship you have with Ivan. How would you describe it? Is he the

:09:32.:09:36.

boss? What? He's been great since he come in. It was very clear we would

:09:37.:09:41.

discuss things together and what he practices match tactics, match

:09:42.:09:45.

analysis, that sort of stuff, and we have seen the things in the same

:09:46.:09:48.

sort of way as well. It's working really well. In terms of preparing

:09:49.:09:53.

for this match, a huge serve but a player who is getting better on the

:09:54.:09:57.

grass with every year that goes by. How do you approach this tactically?

:09:58.:10:00.

It is a tough one. This is one of the few matches that a lot of what

:10:01.:10:06.

goes on is out of Andy's hands. Milos's serve, he is able to hit all

:10:07.:10:09.

the spots, and he's included that big body serve this year as well.

:10:10.:10:12.

From Andy's point of view, he will have to focus hard on his service

:10:13.:10:16.

games. He will get chances. He is a good returner of the ball and he

:10:17.:10:19.

will look to take charge of the second serve. That will be a huge

:10:20.:10:23.

part of today's match. Has Andy mentioned winning a fifth title? It

:10:24.:10:28.

hasn't been mentioned. He will be fully aware of it. He is trying to

:10:29.:10:31.

focus on the match and the preparation of the match and the

:10:32.:10:34.

tactics of the match. That is all we are trying to get into his head. Has

:10:35.:10:40.

Ivan mentioned John McEnroe? Not in today's match, no. I saw a few

:10:41.:10:45.

quotes from Andy yesterday talking about, it is Murray against Raonic,

:10:46.:10:50.

but McEnroe has been discussed in the week from stories in the past,

:10:51.:10:53.

but not so much today's match. Best of luck. Thank you. I'm sure it has

:10:54.:10:59.

been discussed many times. It is interesting listening to Jamie how

:11:00.:11:03.

it's moved on, watching the videos, the tactics, seeing where they are

:11:04.:11:07.

serving, there is more to it, isn't there? Yes, you have to be

:11:08.:11:10.

meticulous now in your preparation. I was talking to Jamie, he was

:11:11.:11:14.

saying about the stats. The problem is, when you look at stats going

:11:15.:11:19.

into a match from opponents coming up against Murray, they try

:11:20.:11:22.

different things when they play Murray. You can say they might be

:11:23.:11:25.

serving this way or that way. When they come up against Murray, they do

:11:26.:11:28.

things differently because they have to go out of a certain zone. So it

:11:29.:11:32.

is difficult to read that. He was saying about the Australian Open

:11:33.:11:35.

last year, which was a close match, Raonic did serve a lot of body

:11:36.:11:39.

serves which he talked about in that clip there and also against Tomic,

:11:40.:11:43.

the first match he's played this week where the body serve came into

:11:44.:11:47.

play. The rest of it has been ace, ace, ace, four corners, he used the

:11:48.:11:51.

body serve against Tomic, so we will be seeing more of that against

:11:52.:11:54.

Murray. Andy has been asked, how do you read serves? He said, it is

:11:55.:11:59.

instinct. Exactly right. He has a great feel for it. It's a skill, I

:12:00.:12:07.

suppose, but it's probably also just a talent. He sees the ball so well

:12:08.:12:13.

and... Reacts probably quicker than most? Yeah. And has incredible

:12:14.:12:17.

hand-eye co-ordination, better than maybe anybody in the game today. He

:12:18.:12:24.

puts so many returns into play. That is perhaps the most important aspect

:12:25.:12:28.

of this match-up, the second serve, as Jamie said, of Raonic. Andy, as

:12:29.:12:41.

great as he is, is not going to win many points on Raonic's serve. Will

:12:42.:12:46.

Raonic go bigger? Will he hit second serves at 120mph? Will he go bigger

:12:47.:12:50.

with his ground strokes and make a few more errors? That is where the

:12:51.:12:55.

match hinges. It will be fascinating. We have heard from

:12:56.:13:00.

Jamie, let's hear from Andy Murray now.

:13:01.:13:03.

When you wake up on the morning of a final, does it feel different, do

:13:04.:13:07.

you think it is a final, or is it just a game? I think it always feels

:13:08.:13:13.

a bit different. Not so much when I wake up, just when you get into the

:13:14.:13:17.

courts because there is no-one else around in the locker room and no-one

:13:18.:13:25.

else practising and it is quieter, maybe more intense, maybe more of an

:13:26.:13:30.

intense atmosphere in the locker room. I have played a lot of finals

:13:31.:13:36.

throughout my career. I know how to deal with it. When people talk about

:13:37.:13:41.

your game, they think about your return of serve being so fantastic,

:13:42.:13:45.

lovely dinks at the net, but over the last couple of matches here your

:13:46.:13:49.

serve has been a powerhouse. How important is that to you and how

:13:50.:13:54.

much work have you been doing on it? It is very important. It was a shot

:13:55.:13:59.

that worked very well for me on the clay. I was getting a lot of free

:14:00.:14:04.

points on my serve and also the second serve as well. Serving kind

:14:05.:14:09.

of 10 or 15mph faster on the second serve than this time last year. That

:14:10.:14:13.

makes a big difference because you are able to control more of the

:14:14.:14:19.

points that way. It puts more pressure on your opponents and,

:14:20.:14:22.

yeah, I will need to serve well in the final if I want to win. Milos

:14:23.:14:29.

Raonic, that is one big server against another bigger server, what

:14:30.:14:33.

game can we expect? He does have a big serve. One of the best or the

:14:34.:14:42.

biggest serves in the game just now. Obviously, on the grass, it is even

:14:43.:14:46.

harder to return because the speed of the court makes it tougher. I

:14:47.:14:52.

always enjoyed returning big servers, it is not easy. But a

:14:53.:14:59.

strength of mine has been getting the ball back in play on the return

:15:00.:15:03.

game and I will need to do that very well against Milos because he

:15:04.:15:06.

doesn't give you chances otherwise. It could be a big day today? Yes, I

:15:07.:15:12.

mean trying to win here for the fifth time would be a big

:15:13.:15:18.

achievement for me. That was something that motivated me, after a

:15:19.:15:24.

tough loss at the French Open, to come here and hopefully I can play a

:15:25.:15:28.

good match. He could certainly bounce back from

:15:29.:15:37.

the French Open final defeat and this is his journey through the

:15:38.:15:42.

tournament starting in 2005 and winning for the first time in 2009.

:15:43.:15:49.

There is a worrying pattern that he only wins in odd years! But we are

:15:50.:15:55.

hoping that he plays well in this final today. Let's look at him in

:15:56.:16:01.

2005 and we can see how he has changed over the years. This was him

:16:02.:16:10.

against Taylor Dent. It is moving all over the place, here he is. And

:16:11.:16:21.

there is Judy. We are not going to show this bit! He will not thank us

:16:22.:16:27.

for this! This was when he got the cramp against Thomas Johansson. It

:16:28.:16:34.

shows how he has emerged and how he has changed over the years. Look at

:16:35.:16:39.

how thin his legs are as a 17-year-old. He learned from that.

:16:40.:16:48.

I'm not going to do that again, and he is now a giant, so big and

:16:49.:16:52.

strong. You could see he could hardly pick up the trophy! He is now

:16:53.:16:58.

launching it in the air he has done so much in the gym. He comes in as

:16:59.:17:04.

defending champion. You want to play well before a big championship. No

:17:05.:17:11.

question about it. The good news for Andy is that he is playing well and

:17:12.:17:17.

I'm sure he is comfortable with his game and he knows he has another

:17:18.:17:21.

week to go to get into top form but any time you can win a tournament,

:17:22.:17:25.

it helps with your confidence and self belief so he will be motivated,

:17:26.:17:31.

no question. A shot of Alistair McGowan, a big tennis fan. This is a

:17:32.:17:36.

ticket that everybody wants because everybody loves to see Andy Murray

:17:37.:17:39.

playing and he has given us so much over the years will stop this match

:17:40.:17:46.

is not easy. It is not easy. And we are talking about the server which

:17:47.:17:50.

is one of the big things but the other thing he has to be careful of,

:17:51.:17:57.

if you had a backcourt game and you took up the service and you played

:17:58.:18:02.

first to 11, he will win 90 out of 100 against Raonic but if you play

:18:03.:18:09.

someone with weaker ground strokes, one of your thought is to not make

:18:10.:18:14.

mistakes when you get the chance on the baseline because his serve is so

:18:15.:18:18.

big. That is the wrong thing to say, you still have to be aggressive

:18:19.:18:23.

because if you push, Raonic can take over with the forehand. What has

:18:24.:18:28.

been so impressive with Raonic since John McEnroe had helped him is where

:18:29.:18:32.

he is coming into the net from, anywhere near the service box, even

:18:33.:18:37.

three or four feet past, he is coming in. In the past he would

:18:38.:18:41.

hesitate. He has to do that to have a chance of beating Andy Murray. And

:18:42.:18:47.

resort Sebastian Coe there as well. It is interesting, he will not have

:18:48.:18:52.

that many chances, Murray, and he has to take them. Look, it's not as

:18:53.:18:59.

though, when he gets to a tie-break, he folds. He might have to win two

:19:00.:19:05.

Kyle Briggs today and I'm sure he is willing to do that. -- two

:19:06.:19:13.

tie-breaks. Although Raonic's ground strokes have improved immensely that

:19:14.:19:16.

he is still up against it against Murray from the back of the court. I

:19:17.:19:22.

think makes serve will be few and far between. -- breaks of serve.

:19:23.:19:31.

Murray squandered his challenges yesterday and he can't do that

:19:32.:19:37.

again. He is looking very relaxed. Normally you are protected away from

:19:38.:19:41.

people but he is signing a few autographs and getting ready. He has

:19:42.:19:47.

not had his serve broken this week but I believe Murray will break it

:19:48.:19:54.

at least once, a bold addiction! Or we will have quite a few tie-breaks.

:19:55.:20:03.

-- a bold prediction. And he might have to take chances on the second

:20:04.:20:07.

serve, not to give Murray anything to hit and I am sure John McEnroe

:20:08.:20:12.

has been giving him plenty of advice and still encouraging him to come

:20:13.:20:16.

forward because he believes he can win Wimbledon and do well on this

:20:17.:20:23.

surface. He was a semifinalist last year so he has proved himself all

:20:24.:20:29.

stop on grass his game should work superbly. He has all of the assets.

:20:30.:20:35.

When he gets to that aggressive mode and take chances, he will take care

:20:36.:20:39.

of business on his side of the court, he has to be aggressive when

:20:40.:20:43.

he gets a chance and I think he has the attack the Andy Murray serve.

:20:44.:20:51.

Cameron Austin, aged ten, has been a patient at the Royal Marsden said he

:20:52.:20:58.

was two under half the completed treatment and is delighted to be hit

:20:59.:21:02.

with all his family who love tennis Ulster would you please welcome,

:21:03.:21:11.

accompanied by the mascot, Cameron, Milos Raonic! APPLAUSE

:21:12.:21:27.

Lewis, aged seven, is a huge fan of tennis, he was a mascot for the

:21:28.:21:35.

Aegon Championships last year whilst still undergoing treatment at the

:21:36.:21:41.

Royal Marsden. He is now back to full health and more enthusiastic

:21:42.:21:46.

for tennis than ever. Accompanied by mascot Lewis, please welcome Andy

:21:47.:21:47.

Murray! APPLAUSE That was wonderful to see them

:21:48.:22:14.

coming on with the young boys representing the Royal Marsden,

:22:15.:22:18.

which Andy has been a big supporter of over the years. It is such a big

:22:19.:22:25.

moment for them. It is so wonderful and I love the introduction, and the

:22:26.:22:30.

got second-class! It was good the way they did that. It was special.

:22:31.:22:37.

We almost ready now, Peter. Everybody is taking their seat. We

:22:38.:22:43.

have not had many finals between two players in the top ten and two who

:22:44.:22:47.

have done so well at Wimbledon. These are people who will be going

:22:48.:22:52.

deep into the tournament. That is the hope and one aspect we have not

:22:53.:22:59.

talked about is Raonic's nerve. He has lost a few big matches in the

:23:00.:23:03.

past when he appeared a little unsettled and was not sure about how

:23:04.:23:08.

he wanted to play and appeared to not be at his best. This week,

:23:09.:23:14.

having started with John McEnroe, I know his camp would say that the

:23:15.:23:20.

first-round match against Kyrgios, that was really important because

:23:21.:23:22.

they did not want to start off with a loss, that relationship on a

:23:23.:23:28.

downer. I am sure that may loss would love to top this week off with

:23:29.:23:39.

a win -- may loss -- Milos Raonic. Big guys on the grass court don't

:23:40.:23:45.

move as well and I suppose that is a part of his game, Milos. That is his

:23:46.:23:56.

weakest part of the game. When he is defending on the baseline, he

:23:57.:24:00.

lumbers over and does not get their too well and even though he beat

:24:01.:24:03.

Tomic comfortably, there were a few occasions when he had to hit half

:24:04.:24:08.

volleys and move quickly and he didn't and got caught out. Andy

:24:09.:24:14.

Murray is the master of those sort of low angles and dipping bowls and

:24:15.:24:18.

that is something he has to work on with John McEnroe. It is obviously

:24:19.:24:22.

not easy to change that but to get that bit quicker and defend a bit

:24:23.:24:26.

better and cover the net a bit better will be his main aims. I was

:24:27.:24:31.

looking at the head-to-head between Lendl and McEnroe, it is 19 to Lendl

:24:32.:24:38.

and 14 to McEnroe. I wondered who would get that box, they have all

:24:39.:24:43.

been sitting in that one, a bit of superstition! But John has had to

:24:44.:24:48.

move down the other end so Lendl has won that battle. We talk about the

:24:49.:24:53.

movement, coming forward is what McEnroe has been brought in four and

:24:54.:24:58.

he has done it well so far. That is part of why he has been brought in.

:24:59.:25:04.

Specifically just prior to the grass court season. And I think John

:25:05.:25:10.

thinks that his greatest contribution might be between the

:25:11.:25:15.

ears, in the way that Milos approaches grass court matches and

:25:16.:25:18.

uses different tactics at certain times. John is absolutely right that

:25:19.:25:25.

Milos does not like to defend, perhaps not as agile as some of the

:25:26.:25:32.

great players and two or three years ago, there might have been a

:25:33.:25:38.

question whether Andy would have exploited that very well. You need

:25:39.:25:43.

to attack someone who does not move well to really show his

:25:44.:25:51.

vulnerability. A few years ago and he might have just played the ball

:25:52.:25:55.

back and not hurt him but now he is a lot more aggressive. We can hear

:25:56.:26:03.

from Milos now. You are a professional tennis players that it

:26:04.:26:06.

is your job but when you wake up on the morning of a pilot, I energised

:26:07.:26:12.

and excited as with other days? -- of a final. Yes, because that is

:26:13.:26:20.

verbatim even if you are a king and you have played a lot of tennis, you

:26:21.:26:26.

have to leave it all out there. -- that is the feeling. You are a bit

:26:27.:26:34.

more eager and forgiving to yourself to put it all out there. And given

:26:35.:26:40.

that you are playing Andy Murray and a British crowd tomorrow at Queen's

:26:41.:26:44.

Club, does it add a bit of extra something? For sure, it presents

:26:45.:26:50.

something but it is about dealing with myself first and then dealing

:26:51.:26:55.

with Andy. The rest is out of my control and I have to put my best

:26:56.:27:00.

tennis forward and find a way to win. We were talking to Andy about

:27:01.:27:04.

his serve which he said he has done a lot of work on and now his

:27:05.:27:08.

percentages are much better. Yours are extraordinary on your serve.

:27:09.:27:14.

Could tomorrow almost be won and lost on the return of serve as a

:27:15.:27:19.

consequence? I will try to get as many looks as I can on his and I am

:27:20.:27:24.

sure he will be there trying to make me feel as uncomfortable as possible

:27:25.:27:27.

on mind and making the play as much as possible. The server will be very

:27:28.:27:33.

important, but the serve and return as always, the start of the points

:27:34.:27:40.

tend to be the most important and it will be on who can get ahead in

:27:41.:27:45.

those situations. I have to ask, everybody is asking you, you are

:27:46.:27:49.

almost tired of it already but having McEnroe in your corner, how

:27:50.:27:53.

much of a difference as it made? It has been a very positive influence,

:27:54.:27:57.

he has really helped me out and brought some different things to

:27:58.:28:02.

light and we have worked on things. I have been quite good at

:28:03.:28:06.

implementing them and I think more successfully through each match so

:28:07.:28:11.

it is about putting it to good use. And when you implement them, does he

:28:12.:28:15.

say well done or you could have done better? He is very positive with his

:28:16.:28:20.

feedback, people don't expect that but he is very positive when it

:28:21.:28:24.

comes to that but he will also find something he thinks you can continue

:28:25.:28:25.

to do better. I was watching his matches and

:28:26.:28:38.

seeing where he was attacking from, that kind of shot, maybe in the past

:28:39.:28:42.

he would have stayed back but he comes back and finishes it out and a

:28:43.:28:47.

lot of times on the backhand slice he has approached compositions you

:28:48.:28:52.

would not have seen him doing. This one, from that position, that is a

:28:53.:28:57.

heck of an approach. Will he get away with it against Murray? He has

:28:58.:29:02.

to try it. If he is too predictable he has no chance against Murray. He

:29:03.:29:08.

covered the open court where that ball was likely to go so I think we

:29:09.:29:13.

can see that different from McEnroe. He is stepping forward a lot more. I

:29:14.:29:18.

love these approaches, if you are going to approach that deep, you

:29:19.:29:23.

have to hit a very good passing shot. And somebody so used to

:29:24.:29:28.

playing from the back of the court, to be balanced and ready with the

:29:29.:29:34.

split step. Exactly right and the more he hit approaches, the better

:29:35.:29:38.

he will get at timing his split step. The first match against

:29:39.:29:43.

Kyrgios, he mistimed a few of those and against Tomic he was getting

:29:44.:29:54.

better. Some positive movement for Raonic. And as far as Andy Murray is

:29:55.:30:00.

concerned, he has got to serve well because he had to hold his serve

:30:01.:30:06.

because he will not get many chances against Milos. Absolutely right, we

:30:07.:30:10.

have been talking about the Raonic served and how Murray can break but

:30:11.:30:14.

he has to take care of business on his side. Sometimes you can lose

:30:15.:30:18.

concentration on that and he cannot do that because one break of serve

:30:19.:30:21.

down against Raonic can sometimes mean the end of the set.

:30:22.:30:25.

These aren't easy matches? They are very unsettling matches. Murray will

:30:26.:30:33.

play a match in a style that he doesn't like to play. So how he

:30:34.:30:39.

reacts to that will be important. Does he implode and give a game or

:30:40.:30:43.

two away against Raonic? Certainly doesn't want to do that. I don't see

:30:44.:30:47.

that happening. But it has happened in the past. He needs to stay cool,

:30:48.:30:53.

focus on his serve and then, as John said, hopefully get a bonus and

:30:54.:30:58.

break. Murray leads the head-to-head by three. Raonic won three of their

:30:59.:31:08.

first four meetings. Murray has won the last three. John is on his way

:31:09.:31:15.

to join Andrew Castle. Good afternoon, Andy.

:31:16.:31:21.

ANDREW CASTLE: Thank you, Sue. And we setting in for a

:31:22.:31:30.

best-of-three-set final. The drive for five, as Sue has been saying,

:31:31.:31:37.

something that Lendl never managed. Murray going for title number five

:31:38.:31:39.

at Queen's Club. And serving first. 12-shot rally to open u. -- up. They

:31:40.:32:22.

won't be all as long as that, especially on the Raonic serve.

:32:23.:33:18.

JOHN LLOYD: There's been a big improvement on that backhand slice,

:33:19.:33:54.

also where he is coming in from as well. A lot more bite on that ball,

:33:55.:34:00.

fading away. It was a beautiful approach shot.

:34:01.:34:36.

ANDREW CASTLE: They haven't left anything in the locker room in any

:34:37.:34:44.

sense here. Driving the ball, Raonic playing his cards pretty early here.

:34:45.:34:51.

He's been to the net when he could. He covered the Murray cross-court

:34:52.:34:55.

pass off the forehand side, with his wingspan. He's done his homework.

:34:56.:35:17.

I can't tell what he is muttering about.

:35:18.:35:24.

JOHN LLOYD: He is in feisty mood already. The first three serves went

:35:25.:35:32.

in and he went 40-0 up. Now he's missed three first serves and it's

:35:33.:35:36.

deuce. Doesn't like his service rhythm? I don't know.

:35:37.:36:05.

UMPIRE: Game, Murray. An intense start from both players.

:36:06.:36:18.

As we were saying, Milos Raonic hasn't lost his serve this week. He

:36:19.:36:23.

has had seven break-points against them. He's saved them all. He's won

:36:24.:36:28.

47 service games in a row, which is remarkable. This is where he serves

:36:29.:36:33.

when he is break-point down. Out wide on the left, the break-points

:36:34.:36:36.

tend to fall on the left-hand side, so he's gone out wide. Only one on

:36:37.:36:40.

the line into the body on the left. On the right, again body. Just goes

:36:41.:36:44.

for big power on the break-points. This may or may not be relevant.

:36:45.:36:50.

When you are playing against the big players, you change things up. It is

:36:51.:36:56.

the sort of thing coaches will have a quick peek at.

:36:57.:37:22.

Have a listen to this serve. If one comes out of the middle. Have a

:37:23.:37:29.

quick listen to this. We will try and crank the volume up a bit here.

:37:30.:37:37.

That is frightening. That is quite something, isn't it? It's the same

:37:38.:37:46.

sort of crack off the strings that Tiger Woods used to get off the

:37:47.:37:50.

metal woods when he was back in the trees and in his pomp. Yeah. Have

:37:51.:37:53.

another listen. Could chop a tree down with that

:37:54.:38:16.

service motion, couldn't you? It is such a powerful thing.

:38:17.:38:23.

Look at the knee bend on this one. Just launches himself up there. It

:38:24.:38:45.

is a very nice... It is not as rhythmical as an Isner serve. It

:38:46.:38:48.

looks a bit strange at the beginning. The end result is, that

:38:49.:38:55.

snap that he has on there, the wrist motion is amazing. Knee bend as

:38:56.:38:57.

well. Fergus Murphy, the Irishman in the

:38:58.:39:50.

chair. It wasn't a great volley, John, the

:39:51.:40:22.

last one. After this forehand, which did the damage, the point should

:40:23.:40:31.

have been over. That was rank - admittedly it is a dramatic sight to

:40:32.:40:35.

see Murray go over there and keep in the point. It was Raonic's fault,

:40:36.:40:37.

really. Yeah. That looked way out.

:40:38.:41:21.

UMPIRE: Game, Murray. No challenge.

:41:22.:41:31.

The ball was out, but he didn't challenge that one. When you are

:41:32.:41:37.

that far down in the game, sometimes it feels like, let's get on with it.

:41:38.:41:42.

Exactly. If this had been 30-40, he would have queried this one. 40-0

:41:43.:41:49.

down, it was well out. Andy Murray versus Milos Raonic, number one seed

:41:50.:41:52.

versus number three seed, after Stanislas Wawrinka went out in the

:41:53.:41:57.

first round. This was the final that was likely. It's looked on the cards

:41:58.:42:02.

all week, this one. Raonic lost the one set to Nick Kyrgios after a

:42:03.:42:06.

rain-delayed start. They have done well to get this final on. They have

:42:07.:42:12.

had enough breaks in the weather over the first two or three days,

:42:13.:42:17.

but it's not been bad after that. Andy Murray, world number two, first

:42:18.:42:22.

achieved in 2009 now, after his first Wimbledon semifinal. Remember

:42:23.:42:28.

the loss to Andy Roddick? Kevin Spacey there... Was that him? He is

:42:29.:42:37.

a big tennis fan. You come into a draw like this and you don't like -

:42:38.:42:42.

there is Kevin Spacey, looking ready for this big match. He is a big

:42:43.:42:46.

tennis fan. Not sure if he plays. He loves coming to watch the matches.

:42:47.:42:52.

Lord Coe up there as well. It has been a busy time for him. Yes. With

:42:53.:42:58.

the Olympics commencing on Friday August 5th. It remains to be seen

:42:59.:43:04.

whether the Russians will be there or not. Yes. I know we will be minus

:43:05.:43:14.

one Russian at Wimbledon, Maria Sharapova.

:43:15.:43:32.

That is such a lovely feeling, when you are playing against a big server

:43:33.:43:39.

- now you know, as a returner, that if you win one of the next two

:43:40.:43:47.

points you are 15-30. Building to the break of serve.

:43:48.:44:04.

What a point! I could not see any way Murray could lose this point,

:44:05.:44:14.

from this forehand. I thought that point was over. What a forehand this

:44:15.:44:21.

is. That was do or die, he had to hit a winner from there. He was gone

:44:22.:44:26.

on the next shot. 85mph, about to go down 0-30, that was big.

:44:27.:44:40.

With that one forehand swipe down the line, the whole complexion of

:44:41.:44:44.

the game changed. Too good. That is a tough ball. I

:44:45.:45:33.

actually thought, when he came in, Raonic had come in from too far and

:45:34.:45:39.

it was not a great first passing shot from Murray but Raonic did not

:45:40.:45:44.

do enough. You give Murray two chances to pass you, it's going to

:45:45.:45:49.

happen. You have to put it away or hit something very deep.

:45:50.:46:08.

That is that of the serve. -- body serve. He used it a lot in the

:46:09.:46:22.

Australian Open and it is a tactic we will see a lot today.

:46:23.:46:33.

APPLAUSE Raonic with the hang time and from

:46:34.:46:47.

zero have to -- 0- 15, a good hold. John is saying, not in a million

:46:48.:46:54.

years would I have tried this! No! And for Murray, not a bad game for

:46:55.:47:00.

him, at least he was in the service game for the first time, he got to

:47:01.:47:03.

30-30 and made a lot of returns. APPLAUSE

:47:04.:47:47.

The magician. Isn't it interesting to see what Raonic is taking out on

:47:48.:47:53.

court? He is taking McEnroe's tactics on court. I know it's

:47:54.:48:00.

obvious but it's fun because Mac was such an intelligent player. I think

:48:01.:48:09.

McEnroe, in his mind, sitting at courtside, even though he lost that

:48:10.:48:13.

point, he would have said, do that another ten times, keep doing that,

:48:14.:48:18.

you will win more than you will lose. He has to keep putting that

:48:19.:48:20.

kind of pressure on him. He is such a gentle giant, Milos

:48:21.:48:44.

Raonic, so softly spoken. 25 years of age, originally from Montenegro,

:48:45.:48:48.

he came to Canada when he was just three years of age, his mum and dad

:48:49.:48:53.

took up positions as engineers and saw their future out of Montenegro

:48:54.:49:00.

which is an area with so much political conflict and strife. What

:49:01.:49:04.

a decision as far as their boy's future. 2011 newcomer of the year on

:49:05.:49:12.

tour, that was when he won San Jose, the same tournament five years

:49:13.:49:16.

previously that Murray had opened his tournament winning account with.

:49:17.:49:21.

It is a great position to take on an inspirational character like McEnroe

:49:22.:49:24.

and for John himself it has to be great. He is looking at his natural

:49:25.:49:30.

resources and thinking, I can add to that, and this guy can win

:49:31.:49:35.

Wimbledon. I agree, a good decision for both. Johnny Mac has been

:49:36.:49:40.

waiting for an opportunity in some ways, there were rumours about

:49:41.:49:43.

Kyrgios and perhaps Murray, we don't know how close either of those ever

:49:44.:49:48.

were. But I think McEnroe is feeling that he can help out a lot with

:49:49.:49:53.

certain players and Raonic is one of them. Milos was telling me that he

:49:54.:50:00.

can't keep Mac of the fact is caught! He did 80 hours in the first

:50:01.:50:07.

few days! -- off the practice court. This was Pete Sampras's Forte. He

:50:08.:51:10.

loved doing that, Sampras. Highest temperatures we have had all

:51:11.:52:12.

week, 21, 20 two Celsius. 7000 people in the house, mainly in that

:52:13.:52:20.

stand, publicly available tickets, 700 available to the private members

:52:21.:52:25.

club. That stand will be coming down next week. It looks like a pretty

:52:26.:52:31.

normal court afterwards, it looks quite little. It doesn't look little

:52:32.:52:36.

now, it looks pact and colourful and wonderful.

:52:37.:52:54.

APPLAUSE Come off it! What a fantastic point

:52:55.:53:05.

from both players. Lovely forehand from Raonic but you hit an angle and

:53:06.:53:13.

you create an angle but you still have to hit a shot like that to win

:53:14.:53:16.

the point and that was a ridiculous forehand.

:53:17.:54:01.

He had a chance to come in on that backhand which he has been coming in

:54:02.:54:08.

on from that area of the court that he elected to stay back, Raonic.

:54:09.:54:16.

John, neither player has lost a point on first serve, no break

:54:17.:54:36.

points so far and yet, not necessarily entirely serve

:54:37.:54:40.

dominated, a lot of good tennis which is good after the semifinal

:54:41.:54:45.

with Raonic and Tomic being a bit of a disappointment. Murray against

:54:46.:54:50.

Cilic was better but this is keenly fought. You will not get long

:54:51.:54:55.

rallies with Raonic but this is quality, both players at their best

:54:56.:55:00.

right from the beginning. Short games but seven games of high-class

:55:01.:55:04.

tennis from two of the best grass court players in the world and it is

:55:05.:55:16.

fascinating. Great to see Kim here. And baby Sophia is here also she is

:55:17.:55:26.

so beautiful it is ridiculous! Four months old and being looked after.

:55:27.:55:35.

Took after the mum! Exactly! Happy father's date, and the! -- happy

:55:36.:55:48.

Father's Day, Andy. Apparently she sleeps great. Again, mum. I said,

:55:49.:55:57.

don't think that is going to last for ever! May be the second will be

:55:58.:56:05.

a horror! A horror! Nicely described! Here we go, new tennis

:56:06.:56:12.

balls, as if Raonic needs help on his delivery.

:56:13.:56:34.

APPLAUSE Battle is joined in this game. That

:56:35.:57:42.

was that change up serve that Raonic hits very well, the kicker, but you

:57:43.:57:47.

have to hit it extremely well because Murray handled it perhaps

:57:48.:57:51.

better than anybody else apart from Novak Djokovic. Key moment. A little

:57:52.:57:59.

less than half an hour played. It didn't last long. That is just

:58:00.:58:11.

fantastic serving, 133. It is where you have to just not get frustrated,

:58:12.:58:14.

easy to say that when you are not on the court but when you can't touch

:58:15.:58:18.

it, you have to accept it is going to happen and one chance you may

:58:19.:58:23.

have, you might only get one chance in the set and you have to take it

:58:24.:58:24.

against Raonic. 36 career titles for Andy Murray

:58:25.:59:17.

over the years, his most recent in Rome, the Italian Open. It's not

:59:18.:59:22.

called that any more but it's always been the Italian Open in my mind. He

:59:23.:59:29.

didn't drop a set. And then the French Open final, a spectacular

:59:30.:59:33.

clay-court season. He lost three matches and won 18. He only lost two

:59:34.:59:38.

Djokovic twice and Nadal once. Highly strung today. He hates losing

:59:39.:00:45.

baseline rallies. He hates that. That was - he felt he was in control

:00:46.:00:50.

of that rally up until that backhand, running Raonic around.

:00:51.:00:57.

He will use that backhand quite a bit today.

:00:58.:01:18.

Nicely handled from Raonic. He's come out with real clarity, he is

:01:19.:01:27.

playing with purpose, and now it is his turn to get 15-30, still yet to

:01:28.:01:30.

see a break-point. That was there for the taking. That

:01:31.:02:02.

was an opportunity there. Mac knows that, 15-30, that wasn't a

:02:03.:02:05.

particularly good approach shot. He had so many options there.

:02:06.:03:04.

There is no question, Murray wants this very, very badly. Why not?

:03:05.:03:24.

Going for five, nobody has ever done it before. Playing in front of

:03:25.:03:29.

everybody. Staying at home with everybody, it is different than

:03:30.:03:32.

being on the road as well. He wants to get this job done. He has played

:03:33.:03:35.

a great tournament. I get the feeling that until he breaks

:03:36.:03:40.

through, he be a bit wound up today. He knows the challenge up against

:03:41.:03:44.

him. He is very wary of it. Raonic on his day, on this surface,

:03:45.:03:48.

sometimes it is not in your hands, that is the problem. What wants to

:03:49.:03:52.

be in that position. When you are serving against somebody who has the

:03:53.:03:56.

sort of delivery that Raonic has, the pressure is on you even more to

:03:57.:03:59.

hold because you know the break is going to come, it is a blue moon to

:04:00.:04:04.

break serve. I think the benefits we are seeing with the quality of this

:04:05.:04:10.

match, it almost stems from the first rounds that they both had.

:04:11.:04:14.

They both came into the draw and they would not have been happy with

:04:15.:04:20.

their first round draws, Murray against Mahut, Raonic against

:04:21.:04:22.

Kyrgios, and there was no playing themselves

:04:23.:04:39.

in in those two first rounds, they had to come out of the starting gate

:04:40.:04:43.

fast, that is what they have done, and they have continued with that

:04:44.:04:44.

form. Justin Bieber once Instagrammed her

:04:45.:06:17.

and she became even more famous than she was before!

:06:18.:06:42.

Murray doing his job very well there, not giving Raonic a ball that

:06:43.:06:48.

was short enough for him to come in, keep pushing him back, force him to

:06:49.:06:52.

go for a big forehand from way back deep into the court, that is what he

:06:53.:06:53.

wants to do. So easy to get frustrated playing

:06:54.:07:06.

against him. 5-5.

:07:07.:07:46.

Good pick-up. He is moving better at the net,

:07:47.:08:13.

Raonic, this week. He is moving better in this match than he has

:08:14.:08:16.

done throughout the course of his other ones here.

:08:17.:08:55.

Ricardo Piatti is with John McEnroe on this training unit. He is superb

:08:56.:09:03.

technically. Never says boo to a goose, but he's been up on his feet

:09:04.:09:09.

there saying, "Come on, Milos, right here!" That is interesting.

:09:10.:09:29.

That was a beautiful rally there from Andy Murray.

:09:30.:09:36.

The first three ground strokes there from Raonic were so deep and Murray

:09:37.:09:43.

just, again, kept his depth and then, eventually, forced the error.

:09:44.:09:45.

Ricardo Piatti on the left. It looked like he got to this with

:09:46.:10:28.

enough time. He didn't have the feel. It was a stretch. But he only,

:10:29.:10:33.

if he had got that anywhere over the net, it was a winner. Murray was way

:10:34.:10:35.

off court. He should have made that. That is a rare error from Murray. At

:10:36.:10:55.

this stage of the set. This is when normally he is rock solid and that

:10:56.:11:00.

one... So Wimbledon starting a week

:11:01.:12:02.

tomorrow. Eastbourne next week for the women's tennis, and after

:12:03.:12:06.

Wimbledon this year, you can enjoy Great Britain versus Serbia in the

:12:07.:12:11.

Davis Cup. That could be Murray versus Novak Djokovic, of course.

:12:12.:12:14.

That is a quarterfinal this year. Murray playing his part already in

:12:15.:12:20.

the 2016 campaign. They beat Japan, did GB, under the captaincy of Leon

:12:21.:12:26.

Smith. Played a tough old match against Kei Nishikori, unbeaten in

:12:27.:12:37.

singles last year. 8-0. Andy Murray. To matters in hand, an excellent 40

:12:38.:12:42.

minutes of play. Both players have a lot to be pleased with at this

:12:43.:12:47.

point. It's a quality match. You are not going to get that many long

:12:48.:12:54.

rallies, that is not the way it is going to happen with Raonic on

:12:55.:12:57.

court. It is a match of quality. Very few errors at all. It is just

:12:58.:13:01.

quality. Depth. Big serving. Quick movements. Good passing shots. I

:13:02.:13:06.

think it's an excellent first set. Looks like we will be in a

:13:07.:13:10.

tie-breaker, surprise surprise. Not there yet. That happens when you

:13:11.:13:14.

play Raonic. UMPIRE: Time.

:13:15.:13:20.

You have to be sharp if you get into a tie-breaker, it could come down to

:13:21.:13:21.

one point. The President of the Lawn Tennis

:13:22.:13:35.

Association, a tennis fan. Doing a lot of good things with the LTA.

:13:36.:13:40.

They do need a new performance director, though.

:13:41.:14:13.

I don't know why he didn't hit a forehand on that shot, to be honest.

:14:14.:14:17.

He had plenty of time. UMPIRE: 6-6. Tie-break. Both players

:14:18.:16:00.

have received one additional challenge. They have played four

:16:01.:16:07.

tie-breaks before with Raonic winning three of them including one

:16:08.:16:13.

at the Australian Open this year. Big servers like tie-breaks but

:16:14.:16:19.

big-time players do as well and Murray is certainly one of them.

:16:20.:16:31.

APPLAUSE Beautifully done. Good anticipation

:16:32.:16:44.

from Raonic. And he is covering the crosscourt forehand. That is what I

:16:45.:16:50.

meant, he came in and he moved slightly early and that was the

:16:51.:16:55.

percentage where Murray tends to go, on that crosscourt forehand. A very

:16:56.:16:57.

good first point. Another excellent point. That was

:16:58.:17:19.

awkward and look how he got his racket out in front and created the

:17:20.:17:25.

angle with the oft forehand volley. It looked for a moment like he might

:17:26.:17:31.

hit a backhand but he changed -- off forehand.

:17:32.:17:40.

What a start this is. Three perfect points played by Raonic.

:17:41.:18:20.

APPLAUSE That is a good recovery with two

:18:21.:19:01.

good points in a row. At this stage against Raonic, it Murray had lost

:19:02.:19:06.

one of those serves, going down double break point, you almost feel

:19:07.:19:11.

there is no way back but he has kept himself in it with two excellent

:19:12.:19:13.

points. I'm not sure what he did wrong. He

:19:14.:19:46.

did well to get his racket on the ball in the first place and perhaps

:19:47.:19:51.

he anticipated he was going down the line with the forehand but there

:19:52.:19:53.

wasn't much he could do about it. So animated, he is pacing around the

:19:54.:20:09.

place, Raonic. He can't wait to play. Much more expressive this

:20:10.:20:17.

week, in interviews as well as on court. It is quite a prospect.

:20:18.:20:51.

For it to go that high up in the air, Murray would have thought that

:20:52.:21:00.

was going over. Once again, still only down a mini-break but it is a

:21:01.:21:05.

big gap, three points and the first thing to do is win the first of your

:21:06.:21:09.

two. One step at a time. APPLAUSE

:21:10.:22:07.

Superb! What a quality rally from both players.

:22:08.:22:12.

Lovely chip from Raonic, the half-volley and he finishes it off,

:22:13.:22:20.

that was superb, what a pick-up. Mr Raonic is challenging the call. I

:22:21.:22:47.

am amazed he has done that. Change up with a big kick when he has been

:22:48.:22:52.

having success on the first serve. He is nervous and understandably.

:22:53.:23:15.

Mr Raonic has three challenges remaining.

:23:16.:23:50.

APPLAUSE What other serve -- what

:23:51.:24:01.

-- what a serve that was. This was not easy, quite deep in the court

:24:02.:24:12.

and coming at him quite flat. He kept his eye on the ball very well.

:24:13.:24:19.

Murray's three straight points snapped and it is a set point.

:24:20.:24:36.

And that's it! Raonic finishes it off with a forehand pass. McEnroe's

:24:37.:24:45.

man has one said lead and we have an excellent match on our hands here.

:24:46.:24:52.

-- one set lead. Disappointment for Murray, letting some of that

:24:53.:24:56.

frustration out. The drive for five is still on but some distance to

:24:57.:25:04.

run. SUE BARKER: I have been watching alongside Peter Fleming,

:25:05.:25:09.

such quality in the tie-break. It was fantastic and if ever there was

:25:10.:25:13.

an illustration of what John McEnroe is trying to get Raonic to do it was

:25:14.:25:17.

in the first few points of the tie-break with Raonic coming forward

:25:18.:25:22.

persistently and hitting some fine volleys. He got tentative on one at

:25:23.:25:28.

5-4 when he hit eight seconds and stayed back but all in all, I would

:25:29.:25:33.

say that man has to be thrilled. -- hit a second serve. And no break

:25:34.:25:40.

points at all in that, he is serving so well, Raonic, not giving Murray a

:25:41.:25:48.

chance. He missed quite an easy passing shot at 15-30 in one game

:25:49.:25:53.

when he might have had a couple break points but other than that, no

:25:54.:25:58.

joy at all. But he is certainly not out of it, there is a long way to go

:25:59.:26:04.

but with Raonic winning the first set, his confidence has the have

:26:05.:26:07.

grown and he must be feeling good about himself. What can Murray do?

:26:08.:26:12.

He has do hang in there and wait for one of those chances when he misses

:26:13.:26:17.

a couple of serves? I think so, players always come down a little

:26:18.:26:21.

bit after a set and a half, the serving power or accuracy will weigh

:26:22.:26:26.

in at some point. He has to make sure that he takes advantage at any

:26:27.:26:33.

opportunities -- the accuracy will wane. But Raonic has not lost his

:26:34.:26:40.

serve all week so he might not get many chances. And he is serving so

:26:41.:26:44.

well in this match but Murray is such a great match player and

:26:45.:26:48.

competitor, you would feel he will up it somehow. We shall see! We will

:26:49.:26:53.

be watching. ANDREW CASTLE: Raonic to open up in

:26:54.:27:07.

the second set and out first again, prowling the baseline, Murray

:27:08.:27:12.

muttering, unhappy, tetchy. If he does break through, he is ready to

:27:13.:27:20.

explode. But from the word go he has looked highly strung, tightly wound.

:27:21.:27:29.

JOHN LLOYD: He was saying good advice about something. He was

:27:30.:27:39.

saying it in that way which means he does not mean it at all. It was

:27:40.:27:43.

sarcastic, he is venting and looking at his bench to say, you messed that

:27:44.:27:47.

up, not me! It is just the way he goes around

:27:48.:28:02.

things, it is just what he does. In some matches, this is what he does.

:28:03.:28:09.

And yet he wins a whole load of them. He certainly does.

:28:10.:28:35.

The trouble is, I think it has effected him for the last two or

:28:36.:28:45.

three points. It will not make him lose the match but it has carried

:28:46.:28:50.

through. When Djokovic vents a bit, the next point he is right back to

:28:51.:28:58.

business again. I think that game, he almost threw it away because he

:28:59.:29:01.

was still annoyed at himself for losing the first. It doesn't mean he

:29:02.:29:07.

can't win this match but if it was against Djokovic, as an example, you

:29:08.:29:11.

cannot afford to give up point away let alone a game. That is the point.

:29:12.:29:19.

And people say, you are not supporting Murray, you're having a

:29:20.:29:25.

go at him. No, all I'm saying is, is that the difference between Djokovic

:29:26.:29:30.

and Murray? Is it the mental side? He is a great player and he wins a

:29:31.:29:34.

lot of matches but where is that difference between him and Djokovic?

:29:35.:29:39.

Two years ago he beat him a couple of times in finals but he hasn't

:29:40.:29:41.

done since in the majors. This is a dangerous moment now. Yes.

:29:42.:30:06.

He has one player who is unbelievably charged up and the

:30:07.:30:10.

other is mentally a bit flat. Seven straight points to Raonic.

:30:11.:31:18.

It's this sort of point, where you look at it, no-one talks much about

:31:19.:31:26.

Raonic's ground strokes. That was a well-rounded point there. He hit

:31:27.:31:30.

seven or eight shots there and ran Murray all round the place and

:31:31.:31:33.

finished it off with that beautiful forehand to create the easy volley.

:31:34.:31:36.

He is playing extremely well. This is excellent tennis right now

:31:37.:32:03.

from the Canadian. Sometimes you have to say too good at the moment.

:32:04.:32:08.

If he can keep this up, he is right in the zone as they say now, where

:32:09.:32:12.

that ball looks like a football to him and he can't miss. Murray has to

:32:13.:32:19.

dig in and somehow hold this serve. UMPIRE: Time violation, warning Mr

:32:20.:32:29.

Murray. Really? He stepped to the line and he is ready to serve.

:32:30.:32:34.

Pointless. That's the rules, I suppose.

:32:35.:32:41.

And it's the first break of serve. You can't say he's not good for it.

:32:42.:32:52.

First break-points and he's taken them and it's a bit of a flat time

:32:53.:32:59.

for Murray. That time call was a silly time. I love fast play, I

:33:00.:33:03.

don't like it when players go over. If a match is going at a good pace

:33:04.:33:09.

and someone goes over it once or twice, don't bother with it. Only if

:33:10.:33:13.

it gets consistent, for me. That was a bad time for that call. Just get

:33:14.:33:20.

on with it. Whatever. UMPIRE: Mr Raonic challenging the

:33:21.:34:03.

call on the left service line, the ball was called out.

:34:04.:34:10.

It was good. UMPIRE: First serve.

:34:11.:34:45.

This is an awesome performance so far. Can he keep this up? Well, at

:34:46.:35:19.

the moment, he's brilliant. He hasn't missed a first serve in this

:35:20.:35:23.

set because they played a let the only time that he did miss that

:35:24.:35:31.

first serve, so that doesn't count. Fantastic play from Raonic, who has

:35:32.:35:34.

backed up the break of serve with a hold. 3-0.

:35:35.:35:38.

UMPIRE: New balls, please. He has taken out his game plan. He

:35:39.:35:45.

looks like he is playing with more purpose than I have ever seen him

:35:46.:35:49.

play. When you think he is a semifinalist at Wimbledon in the

:35:50.:35:55.

past. He was a semifinalist at the Australian Open. Playing the

:35:56.:35:59.

opponent that he is playing now. He was two sets to one up and his

:36:00.:36:12.

abductor went - that is part of the game. Great moments for him. This

:36:13.:36:18.

could be an unbelievable year. It is amazing to watch. When you look at

:36:19.:36:24.

Raonic and you think of mainly one thing - the serve. You think, the

:36:25.:36:29.

second thing you think of - predictable. He is becoming

:36:30.:36:33.

unpredictable, which is what is so good. He is coming in at different

:36:34.:36:38.

times. His variation is good. He is stepping round to hit that

:36:39.:36:41.

inside-out forehand. He is slicing the ball coming in. He is giving

:36:42.:36:45.

different targets to Murray. He is not scared of Murray from the

:36:46.:36:49.

baseline. It is early days yet. If he continues like this, what a

:36:50.:36:52.

message this is sending out to the rest of the crowd. If your game plan

:36:53.:36:59.

is wrong, or has failures in it, and faults, as long as you are doing it

:37:00.:37:05.

with purpose, it is like driving badly. Do something, don't dawdle

:37:06.:37:10.

around. He is not dawdling in any way. No. I like the purpose he is

:37:11.:37:19.

playing with. I agree. I know why he is not winning. It is not an odd

:37:20.:37:21.

year! 2009, '11, '13, '15, all belonging

:37:22.:37:37.

to Murray. He beat Anderson last year. This one he is going to have

:37:38.:37:39.

to come back from a set and a break. Nice passing shot. A bit unfortunate

:37:40.:38:37.

for Raonic that the net cord slowed that ball up a bit. But still, a

:38:38.:38:40.

good passing shot. UMPIRE: Game, Murray.

:38:41.:39:35.

SUE BARKER: We are staying with the tennis here on BBC One. Songs of

:39:36.:39:41.

Praise is now on BBC Two. We are staying with the tennis here on One.

:39:42.:40:05.

Murray looks more composed again now, after winning that game. He's

:40:06.:40:08.

settled again. UMPIRE: Mr Raonic is challenging the

:40:09.:41:05.

call. That looked good from here. You have had your eyes done. I

:41:06.:41:09.

thought it was good. You have had your eyes done. Look at that.

:41:10.:41:46.

The trouble is, Murray has another chance to get back in. He had that

:41:47.:41:52.

little lull in concentration. He lost his serve. Raonic played well.

:41:53.:41:56.

Is he going to have another chance? Nicely-constructed point there. Good

:41:57.:42:27.

approach. This is too good. 121mph serve into

:42:28.:43:13.

the body. That is bigger than a lot of players' first serve. That is a

:43:14.:43:18.

second serve! 30-30 in the second set, aiming for his first tournament

:43:19.:43:23.

win off a hard-court against Murray, 7,000 people here. Yeah. Tremendous

:43:24.:43:27.

play. UMPIRE: Mr Murray is challenging the

:43:28.:43:35.

call. Deuce.

:43:36.:43:47.

CHEERING CROWD: Come on, Andy!

:43:48.:44:34.

UMPIRE: Advantage Murray. It is the eighth break-point of the

:44:35.:44:38.

week against the Raonic serve. Nobody has managed to win one yet.

:44:39.:44:49.

55 service games in a row, unless my maths is wrong. It took that little

:44:50.:45:28.

moment of inspiration there to get the break from one of the finest

:45:29.:45:32.

returners the game has ever seen. He is back in the match. It looked like

:45:33.:45:38.

he had settled down, he had a bit of a reaction at the end of the first

:45:39.:45:39.

set. Yeah. SUE BARKER: He certainly is back in

:45:40.:45:52.

it. A great match here on Centre Court and we are staying with it

:45:53.:45:57.

here on BBC One. If you are expecting Songs Of Praise, that is

:45:58.:46:05.

now on BBC Two but we are staying with the tennis on BBC One. JOHN

:46:06.:46:13.

LLOYD: It is a funny old game when you think he was that close to being

:46:14.:46:19.

4-1. That is why we love this game, it can turn so quickly. The man who

:46:20.:46:27.

is coaching Raonic once missed a volley by a centimetre and it cost

:46:28.:46:33.

of a French Open against Ivan Lendl. It would have completed his set of

:46:34.:46:41.

Grand Slam championships. No, he never won the Australian. He wanted

:46:42.:46:45.

to beat Lendl so badly but he didn't. And if you talk to him about

:46:46.:46:51.

it now, he still gives you a bit of a look! 1984.

:46:52.:47:01.

The forehand has been awesome today from Raonic.

:47:02.:49:18.

The body language has changed ever so slightly! Concentration is there

:49:19.:50:14.

now. Oh yes. The little tics a touch of the hat, Rakip adjustment, ready.

:50:15.:50:17.

-- racket. I thought he was going to make that.

:50:18.:51:22.

He has got a set of wheels on him! Speedy Gonzalez at the back of the

:51:23.:51:27.

court and Raonic sort of shoved that one through. He played his man in

:51:28.:51:36.

there, Raonic. He would not have liked 0- 30.

:51:37.:51:59.

He has lost his rhythm a bit on the first serves in this game.

:52:00.:52:08.

He needs to get that back pretty quick because Murray is handling his

:52:09.:52:16.

second serve, even in the mid 120s he is getting them back well.

:52:17.:52:24.

CHEERING He doesn't have that shot. Just

:52:25.:52:39.

keeps on making him play, Murray. This one, his eyes were not level

:52:40.:52:44.

with the ball, he did not bend low enough. No.

:52:45.:52:58.

Mr Murray is challenging the call, the ball was called in.

:52:59.:53:11.

I think the speed gun but that one wrong, 125 mph. It was about 145.

:53:12.:53:48.

It's amazing, isn't it? One moment he looked like he wanted to get on

:53:49.:54:12.

the Underground and get out of it and the next, just 100% the Andy

:54:13.:54:20.

Murray we have come to a door over the years. It is staggering, one

:54:21.:54:25.

backhand volley by half an inch missed and Raonic is in the driving

:54:26.:54:30.

seat. He misses it and the whole thing has flipped. It happens so

:54:31.:54:34.

quickly but really because Murray re-engaged. He had mentally lost it

:54:35.:54:39.

for a bit and he suddenly got back but more than that, the shots he has

:54:40.:54:45.

had to hit. Raonic now is pressing, to me. For a set and the first three

:54:46.:54:52.

or four games it looked like he felt he could not miss and he was

:54:53.:54:56.

dominating but once Murray got that break, it was like his whole

:54:57.:54:59.

confidence dissipated. It does appear that Murray needs a crisis in

:55:00.:55:07.

order to fully motivate at times. Playing the major championships as

:55:08.:55:11.

well, look at the French Open, the first two rounds, he made it to the

:55:12.:55:17.

final but lost it but his first two matches, not there at all. Two set

:55:18.:55:24.

down against Stepanek and 2-1 down in the next match. He is never

:55:25.:55:31.

beaten, he hates losing and that is a good thing. Absolutely.

:55:32.:55:42.

A set and 3-0 down 15 minutes ago, 4-3 up with a break now. He is just

:55:43.:55:48.

getting warmed up. I tell you who else he beat of the

:55:49.:56:52.

French Open along the way, some of the biggest servers of all time

:56:53.:56:55.

after those two difficult matches. Karlovic.

:56:56.:57:02.

APPLAUSE He is having a great time now.

:57:03.:58:14.

Loving it, absolutely loving it. He is in the trenches now, he has dug

:58:15.:58:19.

in. Andy Love is a target as well, this one, he dips it not quite low

:58:20.:58:25.

enough but just there, no doubt he was going to win that point.

:58:26.:58:34.

He is eye to eye with the enemy now, just a few yards away, so engaged

:58:35.:58:55.

with the contest. Just sit back and enjoy it.

:58:56.:59:02.

Slightly raised eyebrows, where has this guy been?

:59:03.:59:15.

He missed it but keep watching because this is kind of a special

:59:16.:59:21.

vein of form from Andy Murray. It's amazing, now Raonic is

:59:22.:59:50.

struggling for aces in the last three games. Murray is absolutely

:59:51.:00:00.

plugged in. This is quite something. Intense, looking to beat the

:00:01.:00:05.

opponent, just beat them one on one, if there was nobody else here he

:00:06.:00:08.

would be playing the same way. He is into it.

:00:09.:00:20.

That was too good. If Murray can keep engaging in rallies like that,

:00:21.:00:28.

he will win more of those type of points. That was a heck of a

:00:29.:00:30.

backhand from Raonic. If you had to pick one match in

:00:31.:01:23.

which Murray played better than any other, that would be so hard because

:01:24.:01:28.

he's played so many unbelievable matches over time. If I had to pick

:01:29.:01:40.

it, I would say sets three and four versus Novak Djokovic, semifinal,

:01:41.:01:45.

French, last year, down two sets and he just threw everything, just like

:01:46.:01:48.

we have seen in the last few minutes there, there is this wonderful

:01:49.:01:52.

elevation of standard and this bringing from deep that I just, I

:01:53.:01:58.

think is fantastic. You can wait a lot of years to see another player

:01:59.:02:02.

in Britain like this. It is a rare thing to see. He's that good. Some

:02:03.:02:07.

people criticise us when we criticise him. Other people say we

:02:08.:02:11.

adore him too much. I'm telling you the way I feel about him now, as the

:02:12.:02:15.

finished product he is unreal. When he is like this. I agree with you,

:02:16.:02:19.

against the Djokovic - there is Kevin Spacey. He's picked a good

:02:20.:02:24.

final to come. That Djokovic match? That Djokovic match, I agree with

:02:25.:02:31.

you, when you look t at -- at those two sets, it looked like who could

:02:32.:02:35.

ever beat him. For those two sets, he played tennis that was

:02:36.:02:38.

mind-boggling there. It was a joy to watch. The problem is, against

:02:39.:02:44.

Djokovic, he will do it for four-and-a-half hours. I agree with

:02:45.:02:48.

you, some of the tennis is, well... This match here, on this one, to

:02:49.:02:53.

come back from where he's come back from against a player that was

:02:54.:02:56.

playing one of the best sets, or matches he's probably ever played,

:02:57.:03:00.

it's been staggering to get back into this match.

:03:01.:03:05.

UMPIRE: Mr Raonic is challenging the call. Right service line, the ball

:03:06.:04:43.

was called in. That's away. It's one set all. That

:04:44.:05:10.

seemed unlikely some minutes ago. Now, it looks like only one result.

:05:11.:05:16.

Still a set to play, so nothing to be taken for granted. Murray has

:05:17.:05:20.

switched his engines on and Raonic must now respond. One set all.

:05:21.:05:29.

SUE BARKER: What a match. So many twists and turns already. What a

:05:30.:05:32.

start this final is to our summer of tennis on the BBC. We head to

:05:33.:05:36.

Eastbourne next week, as some of the best women players in the world

:05:37.:05:40.

battle it out for the Aegon International. From June 27th, it is

:05:41.:05:43.

Wimbledon and what a Championships it should be. Can Andy Murray repeat

:05:44.:05:49.

his winning feat of 2013? After Wimbledon, Great Britain continue

:05:50.:05:52.

their defence of their title with a quarterfinal tie against Serbia in

:05:53.:05:55.

Belgrade. It could be Djokovic versus Murray in that one. Also, if

:05:56.:06:00.

you want to get the latest tennis news sent straight to your phone,

:06:01.:06:08.

you can download the BBC Sport app and set up tennis news alerts.

:06:09.:06:21.

England's cricketers return to one-day international against Sri

:06:22.:06:24.

Lanka on Tuesday. Back to this final. A few points here and there

:06:25.:06:29.

can turn a match around. We have had outstanding tennis, thrilling drama,

:06:30.:06:32.

what a final. We have still got another set to come.

:06:33.:06:36.

ANDREW CASTLE: It is something to look forward to when Murray turns it

:06:37.:06:41.

around like this and the intensity goes up. News of his brother, who is

:06:42.:06:47.

world number one at the moment in the men's doubles. Quarterfinal this

:06:48.:06:53.

week, they lost him and his partner. The final of the men's doubles here,

:06:54.:07:05.

Chris Guccione and Andre Sa are in the final against Pierre-Hugues

:07:06.:07:09.

Herbert and Nicolas Mahut, who I think they have to be considered the

:07:10.:07:14.

best doubles team in the world right now, the Bryans narrowly ahead of

:07:15.:07:19.

them in the rankings. That is the doubles. They are the number two

:07:20.:07:23.

team at the moment. You should see them. They are wonderful players.

:07:24.:07:27.

Jamie Murray, number one in the world. Andy was quick to say, he got

:07:28.:07:33.

there before I did! JOHN LLOYD: He did say that. Not

:07:34.:07:39.

competitive at all, is he? It is an extraordinary return from a little

:07:40.:07:45.

town called Dunblane. Staggering. Quite staggering, really.

:07:46.:08:00.

The youngest son has just been escorted away, a quick loo break and

:08:01.:08:06.

ready to play this third set. Gives everyone a chance to stretch their

:08:07.:08:11.

legs here. We have had some great finals here. I must say, this is

:08:12.:08:15.

right up there for the first two sets, in terms of the quality and

:08:16.:08:20.

variation. I know we have seen a lot of aces, but still, the points have

:08:21.:08:23.

been magnificent. Boris Becker in 1985 for sheer star

:08:24.:08:42.

power, that was something. What did he say, if he wins Wimbledon, I'm

:08:43.:08:50.

going to... Some comment. He went back-to-back tournaments. It was the

:08:51.:08:54.

most amazing of upsets. Lovely presentation the other day,

:08:55.:08:59.

yesterday, to the guys who have won this Championship on four occasions,

:09:00.:09:03.

and wonderful to see Roy Emmerson here, one of the great Australian

:09:04.:09:08.

players. Roy was one of the greats. Loved Queen's Club. He used to

:09:09.:09:13.

practice on the indoor courts and he would play for a week to get in

:09:14.:09:17.

practice before he went on the grass to get the rhythm and he would play

:09:18.:09:21.

two or three hours in the morning, and in the afternoons he would play

:09:22.:09:25.

five sets and he would wear out all the practice partners, so he would

:09:26.:09:29.

have to keep getting new ones in every day. Bjorn Borg used to play

:09:30.:09:38.

the entire Swedish Davis Cup team over five sets and beat them!

:09:39.:09:45.

Novak Djokovic doesn't play the tournament. Everybody has different

:09:46.:09:51.

theories about what to do to warm up for Wimbledon. Andy Murray likes

:09:52.:09:56.

playing here and it hasn't done him too badly, has it?

:09:57.:10:02.

The tournament has been played under leaden skies all week. Steven Farrow

:10:03.:10:14.

and Charlotte Stone deserve some credit for keeping everybody's mood

:10:15.:10:17.

nice and placid. There's been a lot of waiting around at times.

:10:18.:10:21.

UMPIRE: Seats please. Time. The weather has cleared enough to

:10:22.:10:24.

get the tournament through at the right time. Fingers crossed, and

:10:25.:10:35.

touch wood, we haven't had too many slips either. They normally happen

:10:36.:10:41.

at the back of the court. UMPIRE: Raonic to serve.

:10:42.:10:45.

Rounds of drinks in. People just settling. Milos's

:10:46.:10:57.

girlfriend is making her way to her seat. She is late coming in. Andy,

:10:58.:10:59.

don't have a go at her! It won't surprise you to know that

:11:00.:11:13.

she is a model. And a very successful one, too. Also Canadian.

:11:14.:11:23.

Six tennis balls in play. Where are the other two? They can get stuck

:11:24.:11:32.

between the back awning and the front of the stand.

:11:33.:11:44.

It will be a good trick if he serves all those! He's got big enough hands

:11:45.:11:50.

to do it. Murray upped his intensity in the

:11:51.:12:40.

third set against Kyle Edmund. And also against Marin Cilic. This is

:12:41.:12:44.

the moment. What a return of serve. You get the

:12:45.:14:36.

feeling now with Raonic and Murray, you feel that Murray is going to get

:14:37.:14:41.

his racquet on these serves now. For a while, you didn't feel that. There

:14:42.:14:46.

were aces coming after aces. I'm not saying he is not going to serve some

:14:47.:14:52.

more, but Murray seems to be reading it now.

:14:53.:14:59.

Not getting as many first serves in as he was.

:15:00.:15:44.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Oh! How good is that? 24 shots! And

:15:45.:15:58.

he finishes with a drop shot. SUE BARKER: We can't go anywhere, we

:15:59.:16:14.

are staying with the tennis here on BBC One. If you are tuned in to

:16:15.:16:25.

watch The Gorilla That Talks To People that is now on BBC Two. The

:16:26.:16:43.

tennis will be on BBC One. ANDREW CASTLE: Koko is great by the way but

:16:44.:16:45.

you can record back and stay here. He is putting down the hammer, just

:16:46.:18:11.

as he did at the beginning of those other third sets I was mentioning.

:18:12.:18:22.

The second one of those in the tramlines.

:18:23.:19:15.

New balls please. In the first game where Murray broke Raonic in this

:19:16.:19:39.

deciding set, six points played, Raonic made two first serves and won

:19:40.:19:51.

both of those. Koko the gorilla, that is on BBC Two now but we are

:19:52.:19:56.

staying with this tennis. But when he misses his first serve, Murray is

:19:57.:20:01.

all over it. He has to get back on a holding track here.

:20:02.:20:22.

It is just staggering the way this has changed around and it all stems

:20:23.:20:38.

from the fact, obviously when Raonic lost that service game, the first in

:20:39.:20:42.

the tournament, just some doubts crept into his mind. He is not

:20:43.:20:48.

picking the spots as well on his serve any more and Murray is all

:20:49.:20:54.

over everything. It is amazing how it has changed round. That one he

:20:55.:20:57.

missed but he is getting his racket on almost every ball, such different

:20:58.:21:02.

from the first set and a bit when the aces were flowing and Murray was

:21:03.:21:09.

frustrated. A lot of this has to be psychological.

:21:10.:21:36.

Murray is certainly upping his intensity, his footwork is superb.

:21:37.:22:49.

The Raonic serve, this is from the first set. The green areas, this is

:22:50.:22:55.

Raonic's first serve placement and he was making a lot of them. The

:22:56.:23:00.

green lines are within 50 centimetres of the service lines.

:23:01.:23:07.

Since then, this is how it has changed, 92%, you see how it has

:23:08.:23:14.

gone down. Some of that is because Andy Murray is picking some of them

:23:15.:23:20.

up or is there no particular reason? When he lost that first service

:23:21.:23:24.

game, finally, I think his confidence went a little bit. He has

:23:25.:23:29.

just lost that rhythm and believe that he could snap them away like he

:23:30.:23:34.

was. The rhythm is not there as much and Murray is picking them up a lot

:23:35.:23:38.

more. It has changed around so quickly. Do players and their

:23:39.:23:44.

coaches use these sort of statistics now? There seem to be loaded

:23:45.:23:50.

available. This will be looked at. I am sure McEnroe, if Raonic loses

:23:51.:23:54.

this, or even if he wins, I am sure there will be a discussion on this

:23:55.:23:58.

and they will show some of the stats and where the serve dipped and why

:23:59.:24:06.

it happened. Mentally, why did it go? Did you lose your confidence?

:24:07.:24:10.

You can't do that, particularly against someone like Andy Murray.

:24:11.:24:30.

APPLAUSE A little flamboyant at the end! A

:24:31.:24:42.

little pose, get the camera ready, look at that! Beautiful!

:24:43.:24:49.

Backhands generally look better than forehands on film.

:24:50.:24:55.

From the baseline, we saw some big winners from Raonic for a set and a

:24:56.:26:02.

bit, he was pouncing on forehands but again, he can't seem to put

:26:03.:26:07.

Murray away in these rallies, it has all changed around so quickly.

:26:08.:26:09.

Remarkable, really. Murray has won night of the last 11

:26:10.:27:05.

games after being set down and 3-0 with a break. One missed volley by

:27:06.:27:13.

about a centimetre from Milos Raonic which would have given him a hold

:27:14.:27:18.

but he went on to lose that game and all changed. And that was a

:27:19.:27:24.

challenge. That is how big Hawk-Eye is.

:27:25.:27:49.

Raonic still in touch here. We talked about the Battle of the super

:27:50.:29:14.

coaches, we can overplay these things but Lendl and McEnroe were

:29:15.:29:17.

not just two ordinarily players, they were pretty special to have

:29:18.:29:21.

around. And the tail end of Connors as they were coming up, he was still

:29:22.:29:26.

producing great tennis, it was a wonderful generation. We talk about

:29:27.:29:30.

the big four now but they were great matches to watch and it was at a

:29:31.:29:36.

time when TV was not saturated with coverage so when you did see these

:29:37.:29:39.

matches it was a special occasion. I suppose they were a bit younger than

:29:40.:29:44.

you, you would have been coming on at about the same time? McEnroe and

:29:45.:29:51.

Lendl, that was in the latter stages, I played them both but not

:29:52.:29:55.

very successfully! But they were great players. Both of them were

:29:56.:30:01.

amazing, McEnroe, to me... You played him in a Davis Cup final?

:30:02.:30:07.

Yes, again, not very well, he gave me a bit of a dusting. But he was

:30:08.:30:12.

great and just to watch him play, coming up through the ranks and some

:30:13.:30:18.

of the great tennis of all time. Lendl was more of a terminator.

:30:19.:30:27.

Exactly! To McEnroe's genius. I was more of a McEnroe man at that time.

:30:28.:30:34.

Nobody got to know Ivan Lendl till later.

:30:35.:30:58.

Good serving there from Murray as well. Looks very comfortable.

:30:59.:31:06.

How his game has changed! Can you remember when he didn't want to take

:31:07.:32:23.

that ball on? He wanted to rally and soak up pressure. Now he brutalises

:32:24.:32:26.

the ball! Pat Cash in the background.

:32:27.:32:38.

UMPIRE: Game, Murray. Another man who knew his way around

:32:39.:32:42.

a grass court. Murray, after a couple of hours of play here,

:32:43.:32:46.

closing in on a fifth title. UMPIRE: Murray leads 4-2.

:32:47.:32:54.

Nobody has won a fifth title here. It is an extraordinary record.

:32:55.:33:00.

Players do love records. He will be so eager to get this.

:33:01.:34:55.

To make that return from that serve and Raonic doesn't want to be

:34:56.:35:01.

playing too many of those types of volleys. Did well there, though.

:35:02.:35:07.

Murray leads 4-3. SUE BARKER: Murray is still up a

:35:08.:35:23.

break in this final set. Some news from elsewhere. Experience triumphed

:35:24.:35:36.

over youth in Halle where Florian Mayer beat Alexander Zverev to win

:35:37.:35:46.

the title. Madison Keys won the title at

:35:47.:35:50.

Edgbaston this afternoon. She will move into the top ten for the first

:35:51.:35:59.

time next week. She will be playing at Eastbourne next week. Murray

:36:00.:36:04.

still has some work to do. ANDREW CASTLE: Indeed. The task

:36:05.:36:09.

coming here was to win the title, but it was to find some form on the

:36:10.:36:13.

grass courts ahead of the Championships at Wimbledon and the

:36:14.:36:17.

first match played him into some real form. It was a tough one

:36:18.:36:21.

against Nicolas Mahut, who won in Holland, actually only on Monday.

:36:22.:36:27.

He's upped his game and he's timed his effort superbly this week.

:36:28.:36:39.

UMPIRE: Seats, please. Time. Djokovic remains his greater

:36:40.:36:43.

challenge, of course. We will get to see if we see that match at

:36:44.:36:46.

Wimbledon. Murray still has to hold serve a couple of times.

:36:47.:37:22.

JOHN LLOYD: So good. He's improved that shot so much. So much more

:37:23.:37:31.

aggressive. That set himself up for the top-spin volley. The drive

:37:32.:37:33.

top-spin volley. He's got a lovely rhythm on his

:37:34.:37:58.

serve now. Variation. A lot of the power in

:37:59.:39:04.

this last game, with the serves and the big forehands, and there is the

:39:05.:39:05.

feel that he has. He's got it all. 119mph that second serve and Murray

:39:06.:40:50.

took it on the rise as if it wasn't even there. Again, that is the speed

:40:51.:40:53.

of a lot of players' first serve. Two chances at tennis history here.

:40:54.:41:31.

At this venerable old Queen's Club. Match-points.

:41:32.:41:36.

He finished the Davis Cup with a lob like that. That's right.

:41:37.:42:35.

He is not an easy person to get over with a top-spin lob. He has a great

:42:36.:42:41.

jump on him. Ace number 14, Raonic has saved two

:42:42.:43:35.

match-points in this game. A courageous effort.

:43:36.:44:01.

The backhand drive brings another match-point, a third.

:44:02.:44:45.

And that's it! Five Championships at Queen's Club for Andy Murray. More

:44:46.:44:54.

tennis history! So much achieved in the game, but to

:44:55.:45:14.

win in front of these fans for a fifth time is certainly another

:45:15.:45:20.

feather in his cap. And to break Milos Raonic on a grass court four

:45:21.:45:30.

times in one match... Raonic will reflect on the fact he was a set and

:45:31.:45:34.

a break up and he missed a volley by one centimetre. Those are the

:45:35.:45:36.

margins at this level. He played an excellent tournament

:45:37.:45:45.

and hadn't lost his serve coming into this but end up losing it four

:45:46.:45:51.

times in two sets. Amazing and full credit to Murray for turning that

:45:52.:45:56.

around, he looks to be out of it mentally. But we have seen it

:45:57.:46:02.

before. Deserved congratulations from his team. Lendl has gone

:46:03.:46:08.

already! The week started with that big news that Ivan Lendl was back

:46:09.:46:12.

with Andy Murray, the man who was alongside him for so many of the

:46:13.:46:15.

great triumphs and they have found winning form straightaway. Jamie

:46:16.:46:21.

Delgado has been very humble in his acceptance of the shape of the team

:46:22.:46:25.

now but he looks well set for what is ahead.

:46:26.:46:31.

A shame it finished with that. I know what was coming afterwards, it

:46:32.:46:40.

was going to be a lob! The third time in a row, he would have kept

:46:41.:46:45.

going with that tactic until he made it. A fine performance, really. It

:46:46.:46:49.

looked like he was out, it really did. Number nine in the world, Milos

:46:50.:46:57.

Raonic, he is sixth in the race which means he has had the sixth

:46:58.:47:01.

best year of anybody since January. He has done a lot before and he will

:47:02.:47:06.

be a handful for somebody at Wimbledon where he has had a

:47:07.:47:10.

semifinal appearance. Excellent tournament from Raonic to.

:47:11.:47:21.

Everything is getting ready on the court with the presentation party

:47:22.:47:26.

making their way onto this hallowed grass. And one of the biggest

:47:27.:47:33.

trophies in tennis is being wheeled out by a couple of people. A tiny

:47:34.:47:49.

bit of a scrum as everybody gets organised. Quite narrow walkways at

:47:50.:47:53.

this club, certainly not a purpose-built arena. They slot this

:47:54.:47:59.

rather wonderful setting around the court and they make it happen and

:48:00.:48:04.

when it all disappears, it looks so very different but it has been a

:48:05.:48:08.

fine tournament once again. We have seen some good tennis despite some

:48:09.:48:12.

heavy conditions and quite a lot of interruptions. And for the fifth

:48:13.:48:19.

time, Andy Murray will lift this trophy.

:48:20.:48:39.

Ladies and gentlemen, we would now like to present the Aegon

:48:40.:48:46.

Championships trophy. The presentation party, Stephen Parra,

:48:47.:48:58.

the tournament director. -- Stephen Farrow.

:48:59.:49:05.

The group CEO of Aegon. The president of the opiate. The

:49:06.:49:17.

chairman of the Queen's Club -- president of the LTA.

:49:18.:49:26.

First of all, our runner-up, to receive a Magnum of Melhuish and

:49:27.:49:41.

champagne -- Moet Chandon. Our runner-up, Milos Raonic! APPLAUSE

:49:42.:50:07.

SUE BARKER: Me lots, congratulations on playing your part and a fabulous

:50:08.:50:18.

final -- Milos. APPLAUSE I think when Andy turned it around

:50:19.:50:29.

in that second set, where do you serve against somebody like him? You

:50:30.:50:36.

try to go through him! Maybe I can go through his stomach! But

:50:37.:50:39.

congratulations to him for winning this tournament for a fifth time, I

:50:40.:50:46.

am sure it not -- it's not nearly as special as your first Father's Day

:50:47.:50:50.

so happy Father's Day as well. APPLAUSE

:50:51.:50:57.

At least I hope it's not as special! And happy Father's Day to obviously

:50:58.:51:03.

my own and the many fathers on my team and everybody here that I'm

:51:04.:51:08.

sure is enjoying the day and some good tennis. Back home it a lot of

:51:09.:51:13.

fun to play here, it is the first time playing Sunday on grass and

:51:14.:51:19.

hopefully I can have a rematch in a couple of Sundays. We would

:51:20.:51:26.

certainly like that! APPLAUSE You said after Paris you came here

:51:27.:51:31.

and wanted to play forward and more attacking, John McEnroe in your

:51:32.:51:35.

corner, you did not win but you must be pleased with how you are playing.

:51:36.:51:40.

I'm feeling pretty good out here. It's good progress that I've made

:51:41.:51:45.

this week, improving every day and I gave it my all today. It wasn't

:51:46.:51:49.

enough but hopefully I can keep making progress in this next time

:51:50.:51:54.

that I have and play my best come a fortnight. We wish you all the best

:51:55.:51:58.

for that and congratulations again, Milos Raonic!

:51:59.:52:01.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, we would like to present to the winner

:52:02.:52:22.

at Jeroboam of champagne, and of course the Aegon Championships

:52:23.:52:34.

trophy, to our Aegon Championships champion, five time Andy Murray!

:52:35.:52:39.

I guess you get the trophy in a minute! Standing at the back

:52:40.:53:14.

watching those last few points, everybody was saying, how does he do

:53:15.:53:18.

it? I didn't have the answer so how do you do it? What? Turn it around!

:53:19.:53:30.

I guessed on a few serves to get one of the breaks back and after that I

:53:31.:53:34.

started to gain a bit of confidence and I was seeing the serve a bit

:53:35.:53:41.

better but it's not always up to me. Milos serves unbelievably well, a

:53:42.:53:46.

huge serve, very powerful and sometimes it is just too good when

:53:47.:53:49.

he hit the line but as the match goes on you start to get a bit more

:53:50.:53:53.

of a feel for the speed and I got a few good returns in at the end. How

:53:54.:53:58.

good did it feel, the last set and a half? It was great, obviously coming

:53:59.:54:04.

out trying to win for the fifth time I was really motivated. It was

:54:05.:54:07.

frustrating when you are down a set and a break but I started to return

:54:08.:54:11.

well and my serve worked very well for the last couple of sets and I

:54:12.:54:16.

played some good stuff. You mentioned a fifth title, going ahead

:54:17.:54:20.

of the likes of John McEnroe, Boris Becker, leading to it, Andy Roddick,

:54:21.:54:26.

Roy Emerson, the first five-time winner -- Lleyton Hewitt. Obviously

:54:27.:54:32.

this tournament has loads of history, it is a great event and

:54:33.:54:36.

they always have unbelievable crowds from the beginning of the event. But

:54:37.:54:41.

the field every year is extremely strong. It is a pleasure obviously

:54:42.:54:46.

to play in front of someone like John, normally it in the commentary

:54:47.:54:50.

box telling us what we should be doing! -- he is in. He is obviously

:54:51.:54:58.

a great player and any time you can do something a bit better than

:54:59.:55:02.

somebody like him is an amazing feeling! LAUGHTER

:55:03.:55:07.

I'm certainly not comparing myself to him, I'm aware he had achieved a

:55:08.:55:12.

lot more than him but to win here for a fifth time, it means a lot to

:55:13.:55:19.

me. He is smiling, don't worry! Ivan, I'm not sure if he was happy

:55:20.:55:25.

or not! He doesn't give much away. It was nice of him to stick around!

:55:26.:55:30.

LAUGHTER I don't really know where he was off

:55:31.:55:40.

to! Obviously a good first week back together! And big thanks to all of

:55:41.:55:46.

my team and my family, it means a lot to win here so thank you for

:55:47.:55:50.

your support and help. And happy Father's Day. Thank you very much.

:55:51.:55:58.

Congratulations, the Aegon Championships champion for the fifth

:55:59.:55:59.

time, Andy Murray! ANDREW CASTLE: The fifth time he has

:56:00.:56:20.

raised the trophy above his head here at Queen's Club. Four breaks of

:56:21.:56:27.

serve against Milos Raonic in two sets, so much for Andy Murray to be

:56:28.:56:33.

proud of here. He doesn't drink too much of that, maybe he will allow

:56:34.:56:37.

himself something. He took five days off after the French Open. Straight

:56:38.:56:42.

into the tournament here and another victory. It is a remarkable set of

:56:43.:56:47.

achievements which he is putting together and he is having the career

:56:48.:56:51.

we thought might be possible but perhaps not even in his wildest

:56:52.:56:55.

dreams did he imagine he would win the Davis Cup, Olympic gold, US

:56:56.:57:01.

Open, Wimbledon and to complete the set of being in all of these major

:57:02.:57:07.

championships finals, Australia, France, Wimbledon and the US. It is

:57:08.:57:10.

extraordinary and there is more to come. He will be at the Olympics in

:57:11.:57:17.

Rio and there is that Davis Cup tie against Serbia after Wimbledon as

:57:18.:57:23.

well so great times for Andy Murray. A second title this year after

:57:24.:57:28.

winning in Rome am one of the most prestigious clay-court titles, when

:57:29.:57:33.

he did not lose a set and beat Djokovic. A great year. I have said

:57:34.:57:38.

it before and I will say it again, we are lucky to have him. He knows

:57:39.:57:43.

how to dig deep and compete and when he concentrates 100% there is only

:57:44.:57:47.

one man who can match him and you know who that is. We will see if

:57:48.:57:52.

that is the Wimbledon final. Those championships get underway, and it

:57:53.:57:55.

is likely from what we have seen. Look how long that goes back. The

:57:56.:58:22.

likes of Doherty. Spencer Gore on there as well. Many replicas were

:58:23.:58:29.

given out to the four-time winners who were here yesterday. Lovely to

:58:30.:58:32.

see Roy Emerson and of course McEnroe as well. Lleyton Hewitt.

:58:33.:58:40.

Hard to look further than Andy Murray or Novak Djokovic for the

:58:41.:58:45.

potential championship match at Wimbledon. It was very funny that

:58:46.:58:54.

even Lendl was not there! He was just up and away -- Ivan Lendl.

:58:55.:59:01.

Probably something as simple as needing to go and spend a penny! But

:59:02.:59:06.

it was big news this week, Lendl coming back and that is another

:59:07.:59:10.

story line to this great sport that we all enjoy so much.

:59:11.:59:18.

When the concentration was there for Andy Murray, there was only one

:59:19.:59:25.

player in it. Against Kyle Edmund, who did himself proud of this week

:59:26.:59:33.

with that victory over Gilles Simon. The same thing against Mahut. He

:59:34.:59:44.

came through that match. And that is the big East stand that will be

:59:45.:59:48.

reconstructed over the next week or so. Just showing the trophy to them.

:59:49.:59:58.

6000 people up in that enormous public stand.

:59:59.:00:07.

It was suggested by some earlier this week that he wasn't appreciated

:00:08.:00:13.

quite as much as he ought to be. I can't imagine why that would be

:00:14.:00:20.

anybody's thought. Sports Personality of the Year on two

:00:21.:00:23.

occasions and I think one of the most adored sportsmen in Great

:00:24.:00:29.

Britain now, of any generation. He is right up there. You can put him

:00:30.:00:33.

with any of our greats over the years. The likes of Nick Faldo and

:00:34.:00:38.

Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore even. The pantheon of great Scottish

:00:39.:00:47.

sports people, there can only be the one man at the top. Ten Grand Slam

:00:48.:00:57.

finals and a word for the girls who have done such a good job, and for

:00:58.:01:01.

the staff who have made this all possible.

:01:02.:01:05.

It just so happens that we have the greatest tennis tournament in the

:01:06.:01:13.

world here, and before we get to that, our next tennis is from

:01:14.:01:17.

Eastbourne here on the BBC. That starts on Tuesday, 1.00pm on BBC

:01:18.:01:24.

Two. And it is June 27th, the kick-off date, be there, all roads

:01:25.:01:25.

lead to Wimbledon! What a great reaction. You simply

:01:26.:02:25.

cannot give more. It's in! This is remarkable tennis! The waiting is

:02:26.:02:36.

over! That is way too good. I don't believe it! It's in! She's done it!

:02:37.:02:44.

The Queen of Centre Court. Unbelievable tennis. She will be

:02:45.:02:48.

walking on water next. # Just for a minute

:02:49.:03:01.

# The silver forked sky # Lit you up like a star

:03:02.:03:05.

# That I will follow. # Only a week on Monday to wait.

:03:06.:03:09.

Seeing the tennis that we have experienced here, John and Peter,

:03:10.:03:13.

it's whet the appetite, to show what we are going to be looking forward

:03:14.:03:18.

to? What a match. It was a perfect contrast. I love the way they both

:03:19.:03:22.

played. They were so aggressive. They wanted it so badly, both

:03:23.:03:25.

players. We saw everything out there today. We saw some big serving, the

:03:26.:03:30.

returns, the movement, the passion, Murray was up and then down, then

:03:31.:03:34.

up. Raonic kept it the same level the whole way, but we saw the

:03:35.:03:39.

potential there, you know, could he go one step further at Wimbledon?

:03:40.:03:43.

McEnroe believes he can. If he can play like that set and a half and

:03:44.:03:46.

keep it going for a bit longer, he could be a big threat. We were

:03:47.:03:52.

watching up here, and we said Murray has this knack, he doesn't want to

:03:53.:03:56.

lose, he finds a way to turn it around. He mentioned out there, "I

:03:57.:03:59.

guessed right on a couple of serves." He's done it three matches

:04:00.:04:04.

in a row. The quarters and the semis, he really raised his game.

:04:05.:04:08.

Today he had to do it. Or rather down a set and a break. And then,

:04:09.:04:14.

suddenly, broke serve four times in a row, or four out of five times. He

:04:15.:04:22.

was incredible. OK, fine, he probably, if not has the best

:04:23.:04:30.

return, certainly tied with Novak in that regard, and yet couldn't get a

:04:31.:04:34.

sniff on a ball for a set and a half, could he? As you say, he sort

:04:35.:04:41.

of dug deep and figured it out. Let's show the turning point. It was

:04:42.:04:44.

in the second set, he was down a set. He was down 3-1. This volley

:04:45.:04:52.

from Raonic, that really could have given him the game point. He was

:04:53.:04:58.

40-30 up. Look how close... It shows the difference - he could have been

:04:59.:05:03.

4-1 up and going home. Without Hawk-Eye he would have been down

:05:04.:05:07.

4-1. That is what Murray does to break serve. It is a lot of mind

:05:08.:05:17.

games as well. Exactly. He was so down and he was having a go at his

:05:18.:05:22.

bench, then he re-engaged and then the next minute, he was magical. It

:05:23.:05:26.

was like Raonic couldn't find a way past him after that. That is

:05:27.:05:29.

set-point and that was when Murray started to take control, and he kept

:05:30.:05:35.

that motivation going? Yes, it is really hard to quantify momentum in

:05:36.:05:40.

a tennis match. Yet, you know when it's changing and when Raonic lost

:05:41.:05:44.

that game, when he missed that volley by a quarter of an inch, he

:05:45.:05:48.

lost the momentum and then he perhaps became a little more

:05:49.:05:52.

conservative with his serving targets, didn't hit the line quite

:05:53.:05:56.

as often, didn't come into the net as often towards the end of the

:05:57.:06:01.

match either. That is something that perhaps his camp will discuss over

:06:02.:06:07.

the next week, just, come on, just because you drop your serve once,

:06:08.:06:10.

doesn't mean that you change your whole style of play. It is hard. His

:06:11.:06:13.

natural style is to play from the back. Exactly. So you tend to revert

:06:14.:06:18.

to what you know best. He's got to try and forget that. I agree with

:06:19.:06:22.

Peter. That is the thing, after they have calmed down a bit, Mac will be

:06:23.:06:27.

on about that. You bullied Murray - and I mean that in a good sense - he

:06:28.:06:32.

was on top of him, he was charging and going after everything. He loses

:06:33.:06:35.

one break, and it was psychologically, I haven't lost my

:06:36.:06:39.

serve the whole week and slight doubts came in. Then he didn't go

:06:40.:06:44.

for the corners, wasn't aggressive coming in and the thing flipped

:06:45.:06:48.

around. You can't do that. With Wimbledon coming up, it will be five

:06:49.:06:52.

sets, you will be having lots of ebbs and flows. You have to keep

:06:53.:06:55.

that level up higher. We saw the fist pump when he won that second

:06:56.:06:59.

serve and he wanted to keep that momentum going and he did. Raonic -

:07:00.:07:07.

he wasn't missing those balls earlier on. Exactly. That was the

:07:08.:07:11.

point. Murray, you never thought after that that rain rape was going

:07:12.:07:20.

to serve aces. -- that that Murray was going to serve aces. Then it

:07:21.:07:27.

became one-way traffic after that. You feel once the rally is under

:07:28.:07:32.

way, that Murray was the favourite? No question about it. If you want to

:07:33.:07:41.

oversimplify it, the one huge weapon that Milos Raonic has... That was

:07:42.:07:46.

too good. Murray is too quick around the back of the court, too much feel

:07:47.:07:50.

and can do too much with the ball for Raonic to think he can win

:07:51.:07:54.

enough points to put him into trouble. Really, if you oversimplify

:07:55.:08:00.

it, the one weapon that Raonic has that no-one else can do, is he

:08:01.:08:03.

scares opponents to death, he really does. You think, I have no say in

:08:04.:08:09.

the matter and yet if he becomes just more conservative, he allows

:08:10.:08:12.

himself to rally more, he loses that, he loses that. So it's almost

:08:13.:08:18.

a case of when push comes to shove you have to butt heads with these

:08:19.:08:23.

top guys and then maybe you can breakthrough. It was wonderful from

:08:24.:08:27.

a set and a breakdown, he won eight out of the next nine games and he

:08:28.:08:31.

was producing one magical point after another. And the way he

:08:32.:08:33.

constructs his points as well, moving people out of position, it is

:08:34.:08:37.

beautiful to watch. When he plays like this, you look at it and you

:08:38.:08:41.

go, well, how does he lose a match? Only because there is a certain

:08:42.:08:44.

Novak Djokovic around. When he is in this type of form, he is brilliant.

:08:45.:08:49.

He's got the first serve that was, the last set and a half was huge. He

:08:50.:08:53.

was hitting corners every one. The return of serve is ridiculous. Then

:08:54.:08:58.

he moves opponents around and he has this different feel, with this

:08:59.:09:03.

different touch, the drop shots, and when he plays like this, I can't see

:09:04.:09:07.

how anybody can beat him, apart from Djokovic. Raonic has got to say to

:09:08.:09:13.

himself, for a set and a half, I was there, I have got to continue that,

:09:14.:09:16.

I have to keep believing in it? Absolutely right. He was awesome. He

:09:17.:09:24.

really was. He would be a threat to anybody in the world for that set

:09:25.:09:28.

and a half. Those are the sorts of conversations they will have over

:09:29.:09:32.

the next week or so, to say, "Keep going, just keep going, don't

:09:33.:09:36.

question anything." Commit to the tactics and do it. If you lose,

:09:37.:09:43.

fine. Ivan Lendl left, job done, isn't it? It has been a wonderful

:09:44.:09:48.

final here today. It has been a very interesting week here. We have had

:09:49.:09:52.

rain, rain, and more rain. John Inverdale looks back at the week.

:09:53.:09:56.

There is a joke doing the rounds at the moment, a Scotsman goes into a

:09:57.:10:00.

bar, the Englishman, Irishman and Welshman would be there too but they

:10:01.:10:06.

are away at the Euros! Just about every other summer, the only thing

:10:07.:10:11.

we have been able to rely on across the sporting landscape is this most

:10:12.:10:15.

remarkable of Scots. It may be the summer of Sturridge or Bale or Eddie

:10:16.:10:21.

Jones, but at Queen's, as so often in the past, it's been Andy Murray

:10:22.:10:27.

who has stolen the show. Grass court tennis is different, less time to

:10:28.:10:30.

think, less time to react. Fresh from reaching the final on the clay

:10:31.:10:34.

at Roland Garros, the first British man to do that in 79 years, Andy has

:10:35.:10:41.

been chasing a fifth title at Queen's, diving like Becker and

:10:42.:10:45.

moving like Jagger. On some levels, it has been a

:10:46.:10:58.

familiar Queen's, big men hitting big serves. Why don't we cut to the

:10:59.:11:03.

chase and go to the tie-break? Rain and more rain, slips and tumbles.

:11:04.:11:07.

But there's been the unexpected, too, a first all British

:11:08.:11:18.

quarterfinal in the Open era and the return of the Mac. It was too big a

:11:19.:11:23.

gig for the ultimate ringmaster to turn down. Where are we as we leave

:11:24.:11:37.

Queen's? Djokovic appears impregnable and then there is Andy.

:11:38.:11:41.

Whatever happens at the Euros, people try to put him down, but he

:11:42.:11:45.

is the greatest sportsman of this generation. This fifth triumph at

:11:46.:11:49.

Queen's was a mouth-watering starter for the main course to come.

:11:50.:11:54.

Thanks, John. It certainly was. He's proved himself yet again here at

:11:55.:11:58.

Queen's, winning his fifth title. Let's remind you he first won it in

:11:59.:12:04.

2009. He couldn't lift it he wasn't strong enough to do that. Over the

:12:05.:12:09.

years, he's got better and better and just keeps improving,

:12:10.:12:12.

physically, mentally and technically. He always finds a way

:12:13.:12:17.

to get better. You could see he got that cramp at the beginning, and now

:12:18.:12:22.

he is one of the strongest players out there. Now he attacks the ball a

:12:23.:12:27.

lot more. He was more of a counter-puncher. His serve has

:12:28.:12:35.

improved a lot. Versatility. He is a man mountain. When I mentioned to

:12:36.:12:40.

him, the likes of who had won four titles, he's made history. He has.

:12:41.:12:51.

He is, he is a great player. He still has four or five years to make

:12:52.:12:56.
