Welcome back to Wimbledon, and isn't this a wonderful picture, blue sky,

:00:40.:00:48.

the sun is out and play is under way on this middle Saturday. So much to

:00:49.:00:52.

get through. Andy Murray is on Centre Court but, at the moment,

:00:53.:00:58.

over on Court Number One, Novak Djokovic is fighting back. Having

:00:59.:01:02.

dropped the first two sets to Sam Querrey last night, he came back on

:01:03.:01:07.

court today and he is two breaks of serve up and 5-2 up, Novak Djokovic,

:01:08.:01:14.

as we can join that match live with our commentators, Tim Henman and

:01:15.:01:20.

Andrew Castle. Sam Querrey held serve, suddenly a break of serve and

:01:21.:01:24.

more errors flowing from the Djokovic racket. If he can hold

:01:25.:01:28.

again, who knows what is going to happen? To get a set back against

:01:29.:01:35.

Novak Djokovic would be incredible. But at least Querrey has got the

:01:36.:01:41.

engine going. After the resumption, he came out pretty cold. Certainly

:01:42.:01:48.

after the first set, that was really nip and tuck. The tie-break could

:01:49.:01:54.

have gone either way. Querrey was playing the better tennis. Querrey

:01:55.:02:00.

dominated the second set and Djokovic has been dominating the

:02:01.:02:05.

third. Maybe a momentary lapse of concentration, but it does look as

:02:06.:02:09.

if this is going to go into a fourth set.

:02:10.:03:16.

Well, this is more like it from the US number four, ranked 41 in the

:03:17.:03:28.

world. A player who has won already this year in Delray beach, playing

:03:29.:03:29.

with such confidence. This game coming up is going to be

:03:30.:03:40.

interesting. Three games in a row, double quick time.

:03:41.:03:49.

Suddenly, these first couple of points on this game are very

:03:50.:03:55.

important. The sun is in the wrong place for Novak Djokovic. As I say

:03:56.:03:57.

that it has gone in. In part three, Querrey's footwork is

:03:58.:04:35.

so much sharper, tracking down the balls, turning defence into attack.

:04:36.:06:36.

Well, obviously, this match made big news last night when Sam Querrey, at

:06:37.:06:46.

8:02pm, slammed yet another ace. It was 7-6, 6-1 up. From the resumption

:06:47.:06:54.

this morning, well, from 35 and 30 in the first game on his own serve,

:06:55.:07:00.

after that, Novak Djokovic fairly dominant, but he still had to work

:07:01.:07:05.

at it. In the first two sets, Querrey getting 70%, first-served

:07:06.:07:12.

percentage is dropped. It's given Djokovic the opportunity to get into

:07:13.:07:17.

more baseline exchanges. That is where Djokovic has been able to turn

:07:18.:07:18.

things around. Querrey doesn't want to be spending

:07:19.:07:29.

too much time rallying. That much obvious to him, sure. But a staccato

:07:30.:07:35.

match. No real rhythm for either player. It on, it off, and that is

:07:36.:07:44.

an equaliser. It certainly is, and this early part of the will be vital

:07:45.:07:53.

for both players. Querrey has to try and find that service rhythm.

:07:54.:08:40.

He's got to find that balance between consistency and aggression.

:08:41.:08:49.

Three feet behind the baseline with a forehand error then trying to

:08:50.:08:53.

really drive a low ball with the backhand.

:08:54.:09:03.

A reminder that Novak Djokovic found himself playing another tool,

:09:04.:09:08.

dangerous opponent, Kevin Anderson of South Africa, on the same court

:09:09.:09:19.

last year. -- another tall, dangerous opponent.

:09:20.:09:26.

Djokovic came through to win his third Wimbledon title.

:09:27.:10:16.

I tell you what, mark that one down. There are not too many times over

:10:17.:10:32.

the course of a year, on a second serve, on break point, he's going to

:10:33.:10:36.

miss the ball. Very unusual. Better first serve. When he got the

:10:37.:11:55.

forehand, it was like he snatched it a bit. A bit quick with the swing.

:11:56.:12:18.

No more than a rallying ball for Novak Djokovic. Both players a bit

:12:19.:12:30.

tight stop -- a bit tight. Full is to so rare to see Djokovic making an

:12:31.:12:33.

unforced error at a point like this. Querrey will be keen to finish in

:12:34.:12:54.

this game right here. He might have been guilty of ball

:12:55.:13:22.

watching it, Sam Querrey. He was there.

:13:23.:13:46.

That was a big hold of serve. Important. Break points saved.

:13:47.:14:13.

Djokovic is a very crosspatch at the moment. He was very cross this

:14:14.:14:21.

morning as well on the practice court with Boris Becker. This is

:14:22.:14:24.

where the coach has to show some authority and guidance. I always say

:14:25.:14:33.

what these coaches bring. On the practice court this morning, you saw

:14:34.:14:37.

it. If Boris is saying nothing, everybody had better watch out,

:14:38.:14:43.

because Novak is floating through, no problem, but Boris Becker getting

:14:44.:14:46.

involved, you know, there is a bit of an issue.

:14:47.:16:38.

Don't tell me we are in for a third break here. Last night, just after

:16:39.:16:48.

8pm, 12:26pm today was another, and I'm very sure that the umpire said,

:16:49.:16:59.

lets stop. Unfortunately, on this service, -- surface, there is no way

:17:00.:17:02.

you can control a slide. If a player goes over, that is not what we are

:17:03.:17:10.

about. No sign of Masaryk, the court covering chief here. -- maverick.

:17:11.:17:18.

His team are beginning to emerge at the back. Masaryk not there.

:17:19.:17:26.

Studying at KCl, studying medicine. He had a blue top on earlier. Where

:17:27.:17:29.

is he? No. I spoke to the referee a couple of

:17:30.:17:44.

minutes ago and he said there was a small shower in the area, but a

:17:45.:17:49.

chance it might only last for five minutes, hence why the players are

:17:50.:17:55.

being kept out on the court. Just hope there isn't too much moisture

:17:56.:17:56.

that falls on the surface. So this upset that was talked about

:17:57.:18:14.

last night, it hasn't looked like Sam Querrey is going to win this

:18:15.:18:18.

match yet, has it? That was a big hold in the first game there, but

:18:19.:18:23.

the third set, really, Djokovic all the way. This upset is not on the

:18:24.:18:30.

cards yet. Such a long way to go per Querrey. You still feel at this

:18:31.:18:37.

stage of the match that Djokovic is the favourite. The early part of

:18:38.:18:42.

this fourth set will be vital. Who can wrestle the momentum?

:18:43.:18:49.

One of 24 men in this draw to have won a grass court title, Sam

:18:50.:18:58.

Querrey. This was always going to be a demanding match for Novak

:18:59.:19:01.

Djokovic, and it's demanding because of the weather, as well as the fact

:19:02.:19:06.

he's trying to come back from two sets down for the fifth time in his

:19:07.:19:10.

career. He did it on this very court last year against Kevin Anderson and

:19:11.:19:17.

he's going to have to be resilient. So are the crowd, and so is Sam

:19:18.:19:20.

Querrey, as they go off again for the second time today, the third

:19:21.:19:25.

time overall in the match. It's absolutely pouring. They need to get

:19:26.:19:30.

on court now and cover it. I would have thought... And still they wait

:19:31.:19:36.

at the back of the court. The more rain falls on this service now, the

:19:37.:19:41.

longer the delay when this small shower passes through. Just from the

:19:42.:19:49.

concrete onto a carpeted area, through the double doors, there is a

:19:50.:19:54.

little anteroom on the left, a loo on the right, and they go all the

:19:55.:19:58.

way down to the changing room. Quite a long way down. There are a couple

:19:59.:20:04.

of locker room is there, just next to the entrance to Court Number One.

:20:05.:20:08.

With them going into those locker rooms, it would imply that the rain

:20:09.:20:14.

is going to stop pretty shortly. Looking out from our commentary box,

:20:15.:20:21.

it does look like the rain has stopped and, fingers crossed, the

:20:22.:20:24.

court isn't going to be too slippery to get them back out here. Eight

:20:25.:20:32.

times, the American has played a world number one and hasn't managed

:20:33.:20:37.

to get a victory yet. How much do players in the locker room and in

:20:38.:20:42.

the rest of the tour, how much do they know when a big seed is in

:20:43.:20:47.

trouble? If Novak Djokovic goes out, it's a completely different ball

:20:48.:20:53.

game. Murray is immediately the hot favourite to win. Fedor wrote, in

:20:54.:20:56.

the top half of the draw, he will love that. -- Roger Federer. I was

:20:57.:21:03.

in the main locker room this morning and there is a lots of hanging

:21:04.:21:07.

around and watching what is going on if the Centre Court roof is shut.

:21:08.:21:11.

There is obviously tennis to be watched there. Everyone will be

:21:12.:21:16.

aware of the situation out here. Djokovic was down 2-0, now 2-1. The

:21:17.:21:25.

winner of this match faces the winner of Mahut against Herbert, a

:21:26.:21:31.

wonderful double steam together -- doubles team together. 2-1 up. That

:21:32.:21:39.

would be an attractive match, the winner of this against that. Novak

:21:40.:21:53.

Djokovic, who just doesn't lose sets in the first three rounds of Grand

:21:54.:21:59.

Slams, very flat against Querrey yesterday, but working his way back

:22:00.:22:04.

in. It's the challenge of grass courts. After that little shower on

:22:05.:22:08.

any other surface, you'd be straight back out there. The players wouldn't

:22:09.:22:13.

have a warm up, but on they go. There's probably going to be a bit

:22:14.:22:18.

of moisture on the surface. With the wind in the air, hopefully that will

:22:19.:22:22.

dry out quickly. They can get going again. Boris hasn't gone far. It's

:22:23.:22:30.

quite a long way from Court Number One, isn't it, to head back to

:22:31.:22:35.

Centre Court. Yeah, there's a tunnel that goes underneath, 15, 16. They

:22:36.:22:45.

have got ice bath is down there as well, a new physio room.

:22:46.:22:49.

Improvements being made at the club over time, and the players are

:22:50.:22:52.

always at the forefront. There will be a roof over this number one court

:22:53.:23:02.

for the Championships in 2019. A glass of milk. As he got whiskey in

:23:03.:23:04.

there? It's possible. Yeah. Nobody since Rod Laver in 1969 has

:23:05.:23:36.

won the first three legs of a calendar year grand slam and, of

:23:37.:23:42.

course, Novak Djokovic is the current holder of each of the grand

:23:43.:23:46.

slam championships. It's remarkable, something that Serena Williams has

:23:47.:23:50.

done twice in her career, so it's not unknown. In the men's game, just

:23:51.:23:56.

a fabulous achievement. Of course, in the women's game as well, but a

:23:57.:24:00.

fabulous achievement from Djokovic, who has elevated himself above the

:24:01.:24:06.

others. Rafa Nadal not herewith is bad wrist, such a worry for him and

:24:07.:24:12.

his army of fans. Did you hear anything about that, his wrist? I

:24:13.:24:19.

heard it was in a pretty bad way during the French Open. I think he

:24:20.:24:23.

had an injection in it at some stage and he was told in no uncertain

:24:24.:24:27.

terms that he needed to rest to give it a chance to deal. Fingers crossed

:24:28.:24:32.

he can be back. I think the plan is he can start hitting a couple of

:24:33.:24:38.

weeks after Wimbledon. That was kind of a holding press release.

:24:39.:24:46.

Once again, the players get ready to emerge into the sunlight. Those

:24:47.:24:58.

break points that Novak Djokovic had on the first Querrey say this game

:24:59.:25:01.

might be playing on his mind. It would be nice to come back on a

:25:02.:25:09.

break-up. It would be, and with the players only having been on for just

:25:10.:25:15.

-- off for just over ten minutes, there will not be a warm up.

:25:16.:25:18.

Straight into the match, a tricky scenario to deal with.

:25:19.:25:30.

Nine or ten minutes or so since they left the court. They come back on

:25:31.:25:33.

again. 30 consecutive match wins at one of

:25:34.:25:49.

our four major championships for major Djokovic -- Novak Djokovic. In

:25:50.:25:57.

the media centre earlier on, I saw that, when Rod Laver achieved 31

:25:58.:26:04.

victories, it was 1970. He lost his record, you are a trivia man...

:26:05.:26:09.

Don't tell me I am actually going to win one of these! Tim Henman doesn't

:26:10.:26:15.

lose many. Who did Rod Laver win against -- lose against end that

:26:16.:26:23.

run? Roger Taylor. I can't believe it! You completely bluffed! It's

:26:24.:26:28.

funny you say that. This is the truth. They've got new posters

:26:29.:26:34.

around the club with the line, pursuit of greatness, and I read

:26:35.:26:39.

about it today, a picture of Roger tailor hitting a backhand volley.

:26:40.:26:49.

A horrible start. Is this part four? Yes.

:26:50.:29:45.

Three straight points for the world number one. Break points again on

:29:46.:29:51.

the American's serve. A fifth break point. The two service

:29:52.:30:51.

games of Sam Querrey this set. APPLAUSE

:30:52.:31:47.

There's just not a percentage shot back, when he is struggling with his

:31:48.:31:54.

foot work and his rhythm, he doesn't want to hit off his shoelaces in the

:31:55.:32:00.

middle of the court. Probably only three out of ten for

:32:01.:32:13.

artistic impression. Went down quite quickly, didn't he?

:32:14.:32:48.

This pressure just has to tell, doesn't it, in the end? This is an

:32:49.:32:55.

important passage of play. Barry got himself into this match after one of

:32:56.:33:01.

the resumption is. Went from 0- five to 3-5 in the first set. That's

:33:02.:33:06.

good, got his engine going today. So much pressure here.

:33:07.:33:17.

another poor backhand volley. It's just sat there, didn't it? He really

:33:18.:33:30.

gave it far too much air, plenty of time for Djokovic to come up there,

:33:31.:33:34.

pick his spot, roll this across the front.

:33:35.:33:44.

On resumption it seems that if Querrey has not dominated the point

:33:45.:33:51.

in the first two thirds strikes, the longer the rally goes, the more

:33:52.:33:58.

Djokovic is taking, and. -- the more Djokovic is taking,

:33:59.:34:05.

Querrey needs to keep that weapon firing. Mr Djokovic is challenging

:34:06.:34:26.

the call. The ball is called in. Looks like it caught the outside

:34:27.:34:41.

edge. Yes. After that many deuces to come through the game and have break

:34:42.:34:47.

points as well. Mapoe a really strong hold, two games in a row. He

:34:48.:34:52.

is resisting Djokovic's best body shots here. Impressive. Querrey

:34:53.:34:57.

certainly hanging in, it's not often in the biggest events you see

:34:58.:35:01.

Djokovic with 11 break points and only taking two of them. So, Sunday

:35:02.:35:09.

play for the first time since 2004 tomorrow. 22,000 tickets for sale

:35:10.:35:15.

today, from five minutes ago. I imagine if it hadn't gone on for so

:35:16.:35:19.

long I would have told you about it beforehand. You have to go on to the

:35:20.:35:24.

Wimbledon website, though online, first-come, first-served basis for

:35:25.:35:28.

those 22,000 tickets. 10,000 unreserved tickets on Centre Court

:35:29.:35:34.

for ?70. 8000 unreserved on number one Court at ?40. 4000 ground passes

:35:35.:35:43.

at ?20. Court 2-19 still in action. A pretty full day on Sunday.

:35:44.:35:52.

But will Novak Djokovic still be in the tournament then? We'll see. 2-1

:35:53.:36:07.

down. 2-1 games down to the big American.

:36:08.:36:27.

Shouldn't you be on the telephones, manning them or something?

:36:28.:36:56.

That's a very, very peculiar shot, behind the baseline in the middle of

:36:57.:37:06.

a rally. When Djokovic is trading backhand crosscourt you would think

:37:07.:37:08.

he would fancy his chances against most players.

:37:09.:37:38.

That's a little bit fortunate. Not quite sure how this happened. The

:37:39.:37:50.

second time he's just completely bluffed coming in. Older school.

:37:51.:37:56.

Credit where credit's do, Andrew, he took the lob wedge, cut underneath

:37:57.:38:00.

it. It's delicious. This is a bit nervy, isn't it? When

:38:01.:38:24.

it's a bit nervy, the footwork is not as sharp, especially when you

:38:25.:38:30.

are six foot six, and it's probably not your strength in the first

:38:31.:38:31.

place. Another bad mistake, there was the

:38:32.:38:41.

drop shot, there's that. Second serve. It was an effort,

:38:42.:39:24.

second serve, 105 miles an hour, quite quick, after missing the first

:39:25.:39:32.

quite badly. It was brave. A good second serve but Querrey will be

:39:33.:39:35.

mighty disappointed. It was his forehand, plenty of time. In the

:39:36.:39:42.

net. Not sure he's going to get much

:39:43.:40:28.

success with this challenge. In front of our commentary box it

:40:29.:40:39.

looked well wide. Deuce. Mr Djokovic has one challenge remaining.

:40:40.:40:51.

It's a horrible mess, it really is. A catalogue of errors. It's

:40:52.:40:59.

incomprehensible really to anybody including Boris Becker, who has

:41:00.:41:01.

watched Novak Djokovic is He's looking straight up to Boris

:41:02.:41:27.

Becker, Djokovic had a horrible shot there. Overran it, pushed it, said

:41:28.:41:33.

it straight to Querrey, who was probably so surprised. There was the

:41:34.:41:36.

lob. Coaching team and friends of

:41:37.:42:10.

Querrey. Djokovic has done a Houdini in that

:42:11.:42:30.

game. Neither player looking particularly

:42:31.:42:47.

decisive on their serfs. Querrey saving a whole host of break point

:42:48.:42:50.

in his previous service game. Djokovic getting out of trouble

:42:51.:42:54.

there. Somebody needs to take this fourth set by the scruff of the

:42:55.:42:56.

neck. Third straight game. The American's

:42:57.:45:19.

serve. Djokovic widely considered the greatest return of all time has

:45:20.:45:24.

had break points. Surely, one of these is going to go his way. Not

:45:25.:45:26.

this one. Well construct nicely crafted, the

:45:27.:46:29.

backhand down the line. The crowd were saying, it's out, but it caught

:46:30.:46:36.

the line and in it came behind forehand minutes later. Executed

:46:37.:46:45.

nicely. 13 break point in the match, he's only taking two of them. One of

:46:46.:47:00.

the reasons why. Eight aces in the fourth set and 24 in the match. 24

:47:01.:47:06.

aces past Novak Djokovic. A seriously good number.

:47:07.:47:15.

Well played. Took his time on that forehand. Another big serve gave him

:47:16.:47:31.

the opportunity to pick his spot. Excellent execution. He has come

:47:32.:47:42.

through the fire in this set, Novak going absolutely spare. Boris

:47:43.:47:50.

completely unperturbed, as are the rest of the team.

:47:51.:47:59.

STUDIO: It's all happening on court and one but over on Centre Court

:48:00.:48:05.

Andy Murray has started his challenge against this man, John Tim

:48:06.:48:14.

three macro and Murray is 2-0 up. That's on BBC One. -- this man, John

:48:15.:48:23.

Millman. This is Court 18 where Steve Johnson is now in charge of

:48:24.:48:28.

this third set, a break of serve up and one point to go. Against a

:48:29.:48:33.

former semifinalist here, Grigor Dimitrov, who has dropped 37 in the

:48:34.:48:39.

rankings. That match is on the red button. The match we were watching

:48:40.:48:46.

early on BBC Two Angelique Kerber, the number four seed, won her match

:48:47.:48:54.

7-6, 6-1. The Australian Open champion is through to the fourth

:48:55.:48:59.

round. And one other results to bring you, Alexander Zverev, the

:49:00.:49:06.

very talented teenager, seeded 24, has put out Mikhail Youzhny in five

:49:07.:49:12.

sets. This was held over from yesterday as 2-2. They came out here

:49:13.:49:19.

today and Zverev took it 6-2. There will be a lot more from this young

:49:20.:49:25.

man, Alexander Zverev. Back we go to Court One.

:49:26.:49:47.

COMMENTATOR: Getting a little bit wild, is that nerves? Anxiety. Not

:49:48.:49:59.

quite timing it, not quite getting his feet in the right position, but

:50:00.:50:02.

still trying to unload on the shot. Oh no, that's in, isn't it? It's

:50:03.:50:31.

going to be challenged. Has Djokovic left that one? The ball is called

:50:32.:50:36.

in. Certainly had a play on the ball coming he wasn't beaten for pace.

:50:37.:50:48.

Further evidence of a lack of 100% engagement today, for whatever

:50:49.:50:48.

reason. Very uncharacteristic. Basic stuff

:50:49.:51:18.

for him. Djokovic has had eight break points

:51:19.:51:37.

of his own and failed to capitalise. Now faces two. That's miles away.

:51:38.:51:59.

Anything, anything over the net. To make Djokovic play at this point.

:52:00.:52:06.

Fine margins, isn't it, that second serve from Djokovic just caught the

:52:07.:52:08.

back edge. Living on a knife edge. Djokovic did well to recover from a

:52:09.:54:13.

slip, his right foot gave as he was setting up his pace to hit the

:54:14.:54:20.

forehand. -- setting up his base. Three break point saved.

:54:21.:54:49.

He did so well. To cut that ball. The second one. The first wasn't

:54:50.:54:55.

much good, the second was great. After this little piece of

:54:56.:55:39.

magnificence, there was eruption. Look at this. Whatever's going on in

:55:40.:55:45.

the fair came out right there. -- what ever's coming on in there.

:55:46.:55:52.

Quite a fearsome sight, isn't it? Like Vesuvius on a calm summer

:55:53.:55:55.

afternoon. You want to see positive self talk,

:55:56.:56:28.

that's just about the epitome of it, he realises this is a tough fight.

:56:29.:56:35.

Not in harmony at all, body and mind. And an opponent playing well

:56:36.:56:39.

at times. You sometimes sends whether those

:56:40.:56:59.

reactions have been more with Querrey, the underdog. Always

:57:00.:57:00.

craving that affection, Djokovic. 129 again, this is good stuff.

:57:01.:58:33.

Really, fine match playing, Querrey. Certainly doesn't normally take 45

:58:34.:58:35.

minutes to complete seven games. Third time he has been aced on the

:58:36.:59:20.

deuce court. In this game. Fourth time in this game. Wow, 28

:59:21.:00:29.

aces now. 71 in the tournament. He went 12-10 in the fifth in his first

:00:30.:00:31.

match with Rosol. Great hold. Really top-class serving. He once

:00:32.:00:53.

hit ten aces in a row against James Blake. Tells you everything you need

:00:54.:00:59.

to know about the American number four. Just got Isner, Jack Sock and

:01:00.:01:07.

Steve Johnson is playing so well now as well. Credit to him, he hasn't

:01:08.:01:15.

crumbled. Seven games in 46 minutes on a grass court is slightly rare.

:01:16.:01:22.

Are they slightly overdoing it with umbrellas, the ball boys? Trying to

:01:23.:01:26.

make a point that the sun is shining, giving the players a bit of

:01:27.:01:29.

shade? I should think the players are quite happy to sit in the sun.

:01:30.:01:37.

Sunday play for the first time since 2004. I am not sure whether there

:01:38.:01:43.

are any tickets left. I am sure it was very busy, and I hope you have

:01:44.:01:46.

been successful. We will be here tomorrow.

:01:47.:01:53.

It's a captivating match, this third round winner. -- this third round.

:01:54.:02:02.

The winner is to play Mahut, I believe. He was 2-1 and a break-up.

:02:03.:04:33.

Novak Djokovic has not lost on anything other than a clay court

:04:34.:04:43.

this year. Murray beat him in Italy, Vesely beat him in Monte Carlo. The

:04:44.:04:50.

other match that he lost was a retirement in Dubai right after the

:04:51.:04:56.

Australian Open. So it would be a major surprise if this man were to

:04:57.:05:01.

go out at the very top of the draw. Fancy getting to Wimbledon and only

:05:02.:05:21.

having lost two completed matches, both on clay.

:05:22.:05:33.

Chances now for Djokovic to break through, deep in this fourth set.

:05:34.:05:48.

UMPIRE: Mr Querrey is challenging the call on the service line. The

:05:49.:06:02.

ball was called out. If it was long, it didn't miss by much.

:06:03.:06:23.

UMPIRE: Mr Querrey has two challenges remaining.

:06:24.:06:37.

That was the 30th case of the match Querrey. -- ace.

:06:38.:07:03.

It's quite hard to be philosophical when those things go past all the

:07:04.:07:07.

time. Querrey really has to dominate with

:07:08.:08:06.

his first couple of strikes in the rally. If it goes more than five

:08:07.:08:11.

shots, Djokovic starting to exploit the movement.

:08:12.:08:54.

That is it! The breakthrough which may mean 2-2. Djokovic still to

:08:55.:09:03.

serve for it, but finally a break of serve. Sam couldn't serve his way

:09:04.:09:06.

out of that one. STUDIO: He may not be looking

:09:07.:09:19.

himself, but somehow he is finding a way to get himself back in the

:09:20.:09:23.

match. So Djokovic will be serving for the fourth set in a moment.

:09:24.:09:28.

That's how you finish it off, but lets take you over to Centre Court,

:09:29.:09:33.

because Andy Murray is over there, 5-2 up with a break of serve. There

:09:34.:09:37.

have been three in this match so far. That match is live on BBC One.

:09:38.:09:43.

We will be keeping an eye on that, keep you updated. Now lets head back

:09:44.:09:49.

to Djokovic, serving for the fourth. COMMENTATOR: Impossible to ignore

:09:50.:10:02.

the scoreline so far. As Djokovic steels himself to serve to make it

:10:03.:10:10.

two sets all. Sunshine on Court Number One.

:10:11.:10:24.

Certainly a sunnier disposition for Djokovic at the moment.

:10:25.:10:42.

He certainly should have challenged it because, in our commentary box,

:10:43.:10:48.

we could see it was on the outside edge of the line.

:10:49.:11:34.

You know what, he hasn't challenged. Twice in a row, and Tim has given

:11:35.:11:41.

our secret away. We know that that ball was in. Two in a row, serving

:11:42.:11:45.

for the set! Not sharp. Certainly, at this stage of the

:11:46.:12:06.

match, if there was even the slightest element of doubt, you

:12:07.:12:11.

would ask the question. If he had any challenges left...

:12:12.:12:22.

O'Connor he found it! -- oh, he found it! Of course, he didn't have

:12:23.:12:37.

any challenges left. It is we who are not sharp. Sam Querrey, backhand

:12:38.:12:39.

down the line. Amazing! It's not as if Querrey has been

:12:40.:13:09.

brilliant on the break points either. Three of 14 in the match.

:13:10.:13:25.

Oh, he missed it. Can you believe that! Challenges unavailable. It

:13:26.:13:43.

would have helped. Is that volley goes pretty much anywhere over the

:13:44.:13:49.

net, it's going to be a winner. Querrey was so far over the

:13:50.:13:52.

baseline, it's nearly landed on his foot.

:13:53.:14:30.

Djokovic not the only one who needs volley in practice.

:14:31.:17:32.

It's interesting, isn't it, Hal, if you are the man at the top of the

:17:33.:17:55.

game, if you have done all of this winning, you are the centre of

:17:56.:17:57.

attention all the time and you have to see off people like Sam Querrey,

:17:58.:18:04.

day in, day out, not every day is perfection. Sam Querrey, those first

:18:05.:18:09.

two sets, superb. This is a brilliant effort from him. A player

:18:10.:18:17.

who was top 50 as a teenager, top 25 in the world in both singles and

:18:18.:18:23.

doubles in 2010. For me, one of the most amazing aspects of Djokovic's

:18:24.:18:28.

run is how consistently well he's been able to perform. He is always

:18:29.:18:33.

on a scale of one to ten. He is continually producing eight, a

:18:34.:18:39.

Kandahar. Today, it's been so much more variable, a bit like the

:18:40.:18:46.

weather. -- eight, eight and a half. Umbrellas going up, once again,

:18:47.:18:53.

everybody reaching for the coats. The players are going to stay there,

:18:54.:18:58.

under instruction from the referee. I suspect we will just have a quick

:18:59.:19:06.

delay here, hopefully. Here come the court covers once again.

:19:07.:19:11.

UMPIRE: Ladies and gentlemen, clay is suspended. -- play is suspended.

:19:12.:19:22.

Djokovic trooping off, having served. He wants Boris Becker to

:19:23.:19:29.

come with him, I think. Boris get up out of his chair. He'll have to walk

:19:30.:19:34.

around the court and go and see his man. It's interesting, it isn't

:19:35.:19:45.

concentration. I have to say, I hadn't noticed that those challenges

:19:46.:19:50.

were gone. The first two points, ironically, where he could have

:19:51.:19:56.

challenged, and he couldn't, because the challenges were out. So

:19:57.:20:00.

important, that technology. OK, that's it for the moment here on

:20:01.:20:04.

Court Number One. Hopefully back in a moment. 6-5, Querrey. So close to

:20:05.:20:10.

a famous victory. STUDIO: What a time to stop! When

:20:11.:20:19.

Djokovic comes out, he will be serving to stay in the match.

:20:20.:20:24.

Looking around Wimbledon, it looks like it is only going to be a short

:20:25.:20:28.

shower, so hopefully we will have some play for you very soon. While

:20:29.:20:33.

we await players out on Court Number One, we are going to take you to a

:20:34.:20:38.

match over on court 18, featuring Steve Johnson of the United States.

:20:39.:20:43.

He won the Nottingham tournament, a couple of rounds at Queen's. He is

:20:44.:20:47.

up against former semifinalist Grigor Dimitrov, who has slipped to

:20:48.:20:53.

a world ranking of 37. Johnson is serving at 3-0 in the third set.

:20:54.:21:09.

That's the problem. Stop, start, stop, start. It doesn't matter how

:21:10.:21:19.

old you are, 25, 26, you still have to crank it up each time, and it's

:21:20.:21:21.

not easy. A look from Dimmick trough that we

:21:22.:22:47.

didn't see after he came out after the last rain delay, and he knows he

:22:48.:22:52.

needs to get a quick break. How fortunate was it for Steve Johnson

:22:53.:22:56.

to get that second break before the rain came down! A chance to get one

:22:57.:23:03.

of them back here. Just like when he returned this morning and he had the

:23:04.:23:08.

5-4 lead, no first serves, Steve, and a poor game. It's hard. You get

:23:09.:23:15.

the motor revved up and you have to take the time off and you have the

:23:16.:23:20.

momentum. Within moments, the momentum is shot, it's gone. He is

:23:21.:23:25.

still a break-up, but it won't be like that right now for Steve

:23:26.:23:30.

Johnson. First game, just like it was at the start of this third set,

:23:31.:23:34.

when they came back from a rain delay, we've had a break of serve,

:23:35.:23:39.

as we have in three of the first four games of this set.

:23:40.:23:50.

Wasn't that in identical game... Absolutely identical. When we

:23:51.:23:59.

started play this morning, with Johnson serving for it at 5-4.

:24:00.:24:07.

Dimitrov held serve at 5-3, correct? Johnson lost serve again. Amazingly,

:24:08.:24:15.

those are the only two times in the match when Johnson has lost serve.

:24:16.:24:21.

Each time we've resumed. When he's had the lead. Correct. That's why I

:24:22.:24:27.

said it. That's why, when you talked about

:24:28.:24:50.

momentum, who does it favour, there is no momentum once you leave the

:24:51.:24:55.

court this many times. You have to generate it.

:24:56.:25:17.

No. Ball against sailing off the backhand side. The difficulty as

:25:18.:25:30.

well for players is not knowing how long the break is going to be and

:25:31.:25:34.

what to do during the time off court.

:25:35.:25:39.

It's a carbon copy of the first set. Johnson led 4-3, coming back from

:25:40.:26:11.

last night. He was able to hold. Dimitrov held and then Johnson got

:26:12.:26:19.

broken at love. Rebound is beautifully to win the second set.

:26:20.:26:23.

Really took it up nicely in that tie-break. But ill afford to go down

:26:24.:26:30.

two sets to love, the way that Dimitrov has been playing now.

:26:31.:26:35.

Johnson had a two break advantage. It's been turned into one.

:26:36.:26:40.

Multipurpose umbrellas here. It keeps you drive when it rains, it

:26:41.:26:49.

keeps you cool when it's sunny. Pretty calm, not too much breeze.

:26:50.:26:54.

Interestingly, when Johnson got his second break, just before the rain

:26:55.:26:58.

delay, it was very breezy. It's calm now. Seven eighths of the match,

:26:59.:27:06.

which began last night just before 7:30pm. -- seventh ace.

:27:07.:28:04.

The other thing about momentum, some players can get back into a groove

:28:05.:28:10.

pretty quickly. Others it takes a bit longer. Correct. That's the

:28:11.:28:17.

difference between being a slow starter and somebody who just get

:28:18.:28:20.

out there and is revved up right away.

:28:21.:28:30.

In the case of Steve Johnson, when he came back this morning, he was a

:28:31.:28:48.

slow starter but, when they had the other rain delay, that came after

:28:49.:28:53.

the second set, he picked it up, he learned. He realised that he needed

:28:54.:28:57.

to come out faster. Johnson still has the break. One

:28:58.:29:20.

break to the good. When that ball is coming off his racket, you feel the

:29:21.:29:27.

pace, if you are Dimitrov, and Dimitrov has been a bit late on some

:29:28.:29:31.

of these shots, particularly now he is trailing. Timing all wrong on

:29:32.:29:39.

that last shot. He must hold here, the Bulgarian.

:29:40.:30:01.

Just thinking, if you are Richard Gasquet, who is meant to be third of

:30:02.:30:06.

this court today, after the Williams sisters play doubles, are you

:30:07.:30:09.

playing on this court tonight? He got lucky, Steve Johnson. Good

:30:10.:30:25.

guess from Dimitrov. It just wasn't able to answer the volley. A lot of

:30:26.:30:30.

it is contingent on how long this match takes, because I think the

:30:31.:30:32.

Williams sisters match may move quickly. They may even move it to

:30:33.:30:35.

another court. Great feel. We think we have light

:30:36.:30:56.

until 9pm, 9:30pm, not the case when you have these overcast conditions.

:30:57.:31:08.

Correct, 9:30pm it's daylight if there are clear skies. The other

:31:09.:31:10.

thing we have after Jack Sock and Milos Raonic, third match from

:31:11.:31:12.

Centre Court, the opportunity to move matches indoors. Remember,

:31:13.:31:20.

there is play tomorrow, for only the fourth time in Wimbledon history.

:31:21.:31:21.

And you're worth it. Good volley. A wonderfully played.

:31:22.:31:40.

Kept moving towards the net. Something everyone at home can

:31:41.:31:44.

learn. When you decide you're going to come forward, you must continue

:31:45.:31:48.

to move forward, even if the ball's floating. Good point, court

:31:49.:31:52.

coverage, a lot of these spectators also keen tennis players themselves,

:31:53.:31:56.

trying some of that on the courts tomorrow.

:31:57.:32:02.

Steve Johnson is just dying to get another break. Felt that ball.

:32:03.:32:23.

Barely missed it. Sounded like Damian Steiner said 30-40. We know

:32:24.:32:29.

differently, we know it's 40-30. I may have heard wrong. Brunger! That

:32:30.:32:38.

centreline was very lucky just then. He's agile, though, got to be. --

:32:39.:32:42.

boom! Sam Querrey has a break point

:32:43.:32:55.

against Djokovic. Fourth set. Oh yeah, he knew the minute he hit

:32:56.:33:35.

that, there came an extra yelp and a great opportunity now for Steve

:33:36.:33:38.

Johnson. Which is a virtual set point. Dimitrov better be careful.

:33:39.:33:43.

The Johnson forehand is connecting now. Again, it's about the quality

:33:44.:33:48.

of the Dimitrov serve. There is the break, he's up a double

:33:49.:34:04.

break in this third set, very much advantage Steve Johnson.

:34:05.:34:46.

Focus, focus, focus, 5-2 up. Stops and starts. That was a nice view

:34:47.:34:56.

from up above of Centre Court with the roof closed. You can just see to

:34:57.:35:02.

the left-hand side the side of number one Court, the broadcast

:35:03.:35:07.

Centre. And those on the roof, where we do our stand-ups from the end of

:35:08.:35:10.

play, from Great Britain, Australia, they are all in there. As well as

:35:11.:35:17.

the studios below and the offices to the right-hand side. No, where

:35:18.:35:25.

coaches and teams for each player is it, up above, hanging over, looking

:35:26.:35:32.

down. Steve Johnson serving for a 2-1 set lead.

:35:33.:35:48.

I want to go back to something you said earlier about Grigor Dimitrov

:35:49.:35:54.

being a very different player when he's behind and trying to attack.

:35:55.:35:58.

He's more attack minded, more adventurous when behind, but a

:35:59.:36:02.

different player when ahead. It is true of a lot of players.

:36:03.:36:09.

It's all based on expectation. When you're close in the set,

:36:10.:36:18.

side-by-side, you look at the score, you may play the points differently.

:36:19.:36:22.

When you are down by a double break against somebody as good a Steve

:36:23.:36:25.

Johnson you will probably throw your hands up and say, I'll probably lose

:36:26.:36:29.

the set anyway. There is no expectation, it goes by the wind,

:36:30.:36:33.

therefore you are able to open up your shoulders and swing freely.

:36:34.:36:38.

Even you could do that, Mark. No. Yeah. So you've got one guy swinging

:36:39.:36:45.

freely, right? Who's basically said whatever. Who is behind. The guy

:36:46.:36:51.

trying to close it out becomes a little more cautious. Tight. You

:36:52.:37:01.

said it. Cat and mouse. That one was not coming back.

:37:02.:37:06.

When you're playing out there and you're Steve Johnson from you have

:37:07.:37:12.

this kind of lead, you have to say to yourself, I have to keep my level

:37:13.:37:17.

up, if not, take it up a notch, because my opponent is going to play

:37:18.:37:21.

better, because he's going to be free and easy. It may not happen but

:37:22.:37:25.

it's a good way to think, to keep yourself in the match and motivated.

:37:26.:37:35.

Look at that. I mean, boom. Steve Johnson saying, too good. Dimitrov

:37:36.:37:39.

with an opportunity to get one of the breaks back. Here's another

:37:40.:37:45.

break point. Johnson under pressure. Under the cosh. Stevie, third double

:37:46.:38:00.

fault of the match. You said that before also. Five having three in

:38:01.:38:04.

the first set to Johnson and he was broken. A lot of similarities

:38:05.:38:09.

between this set and the first. The second set we had one break point in

:38:10.:38:14.

the whole set before Johnson took it on a tie-break. He earned it, played

:38:15.:38:22.

really all out. Five breaks of serve. We're now at 3-5. Another lax

:38:23.:38:27.

game, though. From the American. Well, he's going to have a chance to

:38:28.:39:00.

serve for it one more time. Better not lose the serve again. 125 mph,

:39:01.:39:08.

fastest of the tournament so far. Including John Isner on this court

:39:09.:39:13.

yesterday. OK, it's going to be like that, is it? 126? 148 is the fastest

:39:14.:39:19.

ever Wimbledon serve, in 2010. Nice easy hold. First time he's done

:39:20.:39:37.

that since the second game of the second set. Johnson will serve when

:39:38.:39:39.

they resume for the third set. That's the fastest serves in

:39:40.:40:00.

Wimbledon history. Fastest ever serve was in South Korea.

:40:01.:40:07.

Sam Graf, 163.5 mph. That health and safety territory. There were

:40:08.:40:16.

torrential winds that day. Torrential women's! I've never heard

:40:17.:40:20.

the word torrential preceding the word wind. Coming from behind him,

:40:21.:40:26.

almost like a tornado. Like a wind assisted 100 metres. It's before

:40:27.:40:33.

3:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. Reticent to say a sunny afternoon

:40:34.:40:36.

because I don't want to tempt fate, given the fact these two has been on

:40:37.:40:45.

and off so often. Steve Johnson has had a double break on two different

:40:46.:40:50.

occasions in this set. And has both times surrendered one of them back.

:40:51.:40:54.

He cannot make any of those errors in this game. Crucial. 5-4, serving

:40:55.:41:04.

for a 2-1 lead. Just like you was in the ninth game of the third set. He

:41:05.:41:12.

went 0-40 down. Different story this time, winning the first point.

:41:13.:41:29.

He read the short folly, got there in plenty of time, he needed to rip

:41:30.:41:37.

at the ground stroke. He gets here and instead of really hitting the

:41:38.:41:41.

ball which he could have done, tries to lob over a big athletic man on a

:41:42.:41:44.

grass court. Just doesn't happen. Impressive service game from Steve

:41:45.:41:59.

Johnson. Yanked it, he pulled away from it

:42:00.:42:21.

way too quickly, rushed it. Got to keep his nerve. He's got to stick

:42:22.:42:25.

with the plan. Nothing out of the ordinary here.

:42:26.:42:35.

Just like that, Steve Johnson, one or two issues but get it done and

:42:36.:42:39.

leads to- one. OK, Doug Adler, set summary from the

:42:40.:43:01.

third set. What impresses you and what needs to be better? I think the

:43:02.:43:05.

difference in that set was the quality of the Steve Johnson serve.

:43:06.:43:10.

You can see when he got it in how successful he was. Really taking

:43:11.:43:16.

advantage of Dimitrov missing so many first serves. A problem for

:43:17.:43:21.

Dimitrov really in that set is he just got behind, couldn't put in a

:43:22.:43:24.

first serve Cincom he was always training, not a good place to be.

:43:25.:43:28.

Especially against a guy gripping forehands. Dimitrov needs to make a

:43:29.:43:43.

few adjustments, as typically what you want to do when you've lost a

:43:44.:43:50.

few sects. How impressed are you... We know about beforehand, what about

:43:51.:43:53.

the serve, what do you like about the serve and what do you think he

:43:54.:43:58.

can improve on? I like the serve a lot and he mixes it up beautifully,

:43:59.:44:02.

he can throw in the heater, fastball, he can throw in of pace

:44:03.:44:07.

stuff, placement, precision, angle, he can do everything with the serve.

:44:08.:44:11.

Second service very good as well, heavy, from a serving standpoint he

:44:12.:44:14.

has the better serve between the two. One thing Steve Johnson has to

:44:15.:44:23.

be aware of, is when he's hitting the slice backhand, he's got to cut

:44:24.:44:28.

it. If he floated, Dimitrov is going to step around and rip forehands.

:44:29.:44:35.

Day six at Wimbledon. Image of serving, trailing 2-1. -- Dimitrov

:44:36.:44:42.

serving. The last set he lost the serve three times, it's not going to

:44:43.:44:44.

get the job done in this set. He's just beating Dimitrov with pace

:44:45.:44:56.

with the forehand, you feel the weight of that shot. Dimitrov at

:44:57.:45:03.

times has absorbed it very well in the match but at other times not

:45:04.:45:06.

able to really get ahead of the ball.

:45:07.:45:19.

Not quite the Dimitrov that reach the semifinals here two years ago,

:45:20.:45:25.

eating Andy Murray in the semifinals before eventually losing in four

:45:26.:45:36.

sets to Novak Djokovic. What are the main differences in his game, why

:45:37.:45:39.

has he fallen from number eight to number 37 in the world? It's between

:45:40.:45:44.

the years, really, he's certainly got the same skill, he moves as

:45:45.:45:51.

well, but a lot of those matches, close matches, it's winning the big

:45:52.:45:54.

points, he's not winning those points. He's certainly not as

:45:55.:46:02.

confident, look at that backhand he just missed. When he reached the

:46:03.:46:08.

semi he wasn't missing that shot. He was making shots like this in that

:46:09.:46:12.

quarterfinal against Murray. The fear factor is gone, players aren't

:46:13.:46:16.

that threatened by him any more. A lot of times matches are even won

:46:17.:46:22.

before you hit the court because guys are scared of you. Two break

:46:23.:46:29.

points and a second serve, Johnson is in a good place right now. I

:46:30.:46:38.

don't think there's been any time throughout this match, even when

:46:39.:46:43.

Steve Johnson lost the first set, never felt he was playing against

:46:44.:46:48.

someone he was outclassed by. Johnson hasn't done much wrong, he

:46:49.:46:58.

was unlucky to lose that first set. Tough second serve, down 2-1. Break

:46:59.:47:11.

point. He missed it badly. Wild from Dimitrov, who seems out of sorts

:47:12.:47:16.

right now. Not only a setup, a break down at the beginning of the set.

:47:17.:47:28.

Well, Johnson just keeping the ball in the court and letting Dimitrov

:47:29.:47:35.

self implode. No way a semi finalist -- former semifinalist should miss

:47:36.:47:39.

that shot. But the pressure. You've got ten seconds to get inside

:47:40.:47:45.

Dimitrov's head, tell him something, what's he got to do? He's in a bit

:47:46.:47:50.

of a hole here. First thing calmed down, second thing stay in the

:47:51.:47:54.

moment, what has happened to this point means nothing. That's less

:47:55.:47:55.

than ten seconds. On the other side of the net for

:47:56.:48:18.

Steve Johnson it's more of the same, he's played well. Don't let down,

:48:19.:48:22.

keep your foot on the accelerator, go for the jugular, put this guy

:48:23.:48:28.

away. There's no doubt in the mind of Dimitrov, use that to your

:48:29.:48:32.

advantage if you're Steve Johnson. No way he's going to make that shot,

:48:33.:48:56.

that's a whole band a prayer. Johnson sees him going for that

:48:57.:49:00.

swing and says beautiful, keep doing it. He played last year here and

:49:01.:49:05.

Dimitrov won in three straight sets. Already Steve Johnson is in a far

:49:06.:49:14.

better place. Also played in Washington last year, Johnson got

:49:15.:49:18.

the victory in three sets. On the hard courts. Little glimmer of hope

:49:19.:49:37.

here for Grigor Dimitrov. Two hours and 32 minutes of playing time, but

:49:38.:49:41.

it's been a lot longer since these two stepped on court last night.

:49:42.:50:00.

Look how Johnson is moving now that he has got the lead, is feeling

:50:01.:50:06.

really good about himself and everything is coming a lot easier.

:50:07.:50:11.

It's a struggle for Dimitrov, but not for Johnson. The evolution of

:50:12.:50:15.

Johnson's game over the last two or three years, it really has been on a

:50:16.:50:24.

steep upward curve. I'm quite good friends with Steve's coach from USC,

:50:25.:50:32.

Peter Smith. Peter always felt Stevie was a great competitor and

:50:33.:50:36.

really didn't understand why Stevie was even losing matches. Two good

:50:37.:50:46.

serves, Steve Johnson. Bangor you will lose matches when guys hit

:50:47.:50:50.

shots like that, for sure. Steve Johnson consistently, day in, day

:50:51.:50:54.

out, should be at this kind of level. By winning the Nottingham

:50:55.:51:01.

events... His first ever to win. It's done him the power of good. The

:51:02.:51:06.

other thing is as well, when you are ranked 18, 19 in the world, your

:51:07.:51:16.

drawers are much harder. Great volley, got down and dug it out of

:51:17.:51:21.

the grass. The other thing, you are right about the drawers, but every

:51:22.:51:27.

little difference between being 70, 80, 19 the world, maybe even 30. --

:51:28.:51:34.

you are right about the draws. It windows big matches, getting those

:51:35.:51:36.

big points, believing you're going to get them. Gets you into better

:51:37.:51:46.

tournaments. In a macro Steve's playing at a whole different level

:51:47.:51:51.

now than he did two years ago. So is Dimitrov, that's the problem.

:51:52.:52:01.

Opposite directions. I think... In the grand scheme of things, second

:52:02.:52:04.

game of the fourth set, especially with Johnson just having broken, if

:52:05.:52:08.

he can consolidate the break, this could be huge. For the 26-year-old

:52:09.:52:13.

from Southern California. See, that is a shot there is no way

:52:14.:52:30.

Dimitrov can missed that ball. I thought his footwork there as he

:52:31.:52:33.

went to hit it looked a little bit off, as if he wasn't set properly

:52:34.:52:38.

for that kind of shot. It's a backhand, floating in the middle of

:52:39.:52:39.

the court with no pace on it. Johnson gave him an opportunity and

:52:40.:53:00.

Dimitrov didn't take it. 2-0 lead. The American, right now, is the warm

:53:01.:53:07.

favourite against the former world number eight. Here we go, the

:53:08.:53:12.

camping convention get the jackets on. Not because there is rain...

:53:13.:53:17.

Just getting cool. There are one or two spots arriving. To be honest,

:53:18.:53:23.

right now, Dimitrov would probably take a rain break. He'd love to

:53:24.:53:33.

stop, things are not going his way. He's been pretty much shattered

:53:34.:53:35.

mentally as this match has gone on. When he missed that ball in the

:53:36.:53:51.

middle of the court the last game, as we see the ball come-down, quite

:53:52.:53:56.

a cat by the lines person. Quite a catch, tell you what, that's a

:53:57.:54:05.

phenomenal catch. A catch at slip. They're all at it now. The umpires

:54:06.:54:10.

court that straightaway. Goodness me. Budding cricketers and baseball

:54:11.:54:15.

players here. Anyway back to the tennis. Enough of the nonsense. If

:54:16.:54:23.

you are saying it, Mark, it's not nonsense.

:54:24.:54:39.

That a guy who's got nothing to lose. This is when he becomes more

:54:40.:54:46.

dangerous than he's been so far. You saw what happened to him last game,

:54:47.:54:50.

chance to go up break point to get back into the set. He has a ball in

:54:51.:54:54.

the middle of the court and snatches it into the bottom of the net. Looks

:54:55.:54:56.

like he had a bad bounce. Two up. I say it looks like he had a bad

:54:57.:55:20.

bounce because if it looks as though he's moving his feet properly and

:55:21.:55:24.

he's focused, whether the ball bounces funny or not it's not going

:55:25.:55:28.

to affect, but things are not going his way. How has he responded? Not

:55:29.:55:37.

particularly well. I love that the whole mental comparisons between

:55:38.:55:39.

different sports... At the top level in golf there is very little after

:55:40.:55:45.

you get past Jason Day and Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth. It's just

:55:46.:55:52.

strong willed. In tennis as well you've got the upper echelons,

:55:53.:55:56.

Djokovic and Murray and Federer and Nadal, Wawrinka, whoever. If you are

:55:57.:56:02.

going from world ranked number ten down the way to world ranked 50, a

:56:03.:56:09.

lot of it is between the years. 90% of this game at this level you can

:56:10.:56:14.

ask anybody, it's not about hitting forehands or backhands, between the

:56:15.:56:21.

years. A rather limp waving of a Bulgarian flag. Sort of a weak

:56:22.:56:30.

fourth set. They need more from him. Steve Johnson's in control. When you

:56:31.:56:37.

serve like that... I think there might be a B or a wasp. We've

:56:38.:56:42.

already had birds. The ornithology part of this lesson has been taken

:56:43.:56:50.

care of. Is there an aviary for the bees? This is where my school

:56:51.:56:56.

education will be coming in handy. -- varies a bee or wasp.

:56:57.:57:05.

That is the same shot Dimitrov had in the previous service game on

:57:06.:57:13.

30-30. You see Johnson is patient, gets his feet in position, doesn't

:57:14.:57:15.

rush, gets the job done. After watching that point I wonder

:57:16.:57:47.

if Dimitrov really has a game plan right now, I don't think he really

:57:48.:57:52.

has one, I think he feels if he keeps hitting he'll hit someone is,

:57:53.:57:58.

but that's the wrong shot, got him totally out of position. Lob volley

:57:59.:58:04.

over his head. Low percentage play. I don't think he really knows what

:58:05.:58:08.

to do to get back into this match, Dimitrov. A 3-1 lead. Three games

:58:09.:58:21.

away from a place in the next round for Steve Johnson. I think Johnson

:58:22.:58:30.

knows exactly what he wants to do and I don't think Dimitrov has a

:58:31.:58:37.

clue. As got to be careful, my nieces are watching and I said an

:58:38.:58:42.

aviary was for bees. Avery is for birds as well. You could say

:58:43.:58:55.

anything and I would agree. Holes! Holes! Right in the face. -- --

:58:56.:59:10.

Whoa! Immediately apologises. Sheik of the hand. There you go. You are

:59:11.:59:15.

forgiven, just don't do it again. That's cool to be able to interact

:59:16.:59:19.

with the crowd like that. Golfers do it if they hit someone with the golf

:59:20.:59:22.

ball, they give them a signed glove. Maybe if Stevie wins he can give a

:59:23.:59:36.

tower or racket that gentleman. I think that's going a little bit far.

:59:37.:59:43.

Come on now. It's a little bit extreme, he already gave the guy

:59:44.:59:52.

some skin, that's enough. Scrooge. I mean, look at that swinging... To

:59:53.:59:56.

me, Dimitrov was just out there flailing away. By the way behind

:59:57.:00:01.

Dimitrov a couple of umbrellas, the rain is coming back. Guess what...

:00:02.:00:09.

Here we go again, play is suspended. 3.49 in the afternoon. This is very

:00:10.:00:14.

good for Dimitrov, because he was falling away quickly, bad for Steve

:00:15.:00:15.

Johnson. STUDIO: That is when the rain has

:00:16.:00:28.

come down. This is the scene at the moment, the sun is shining, but they

:00:29.:00:32.

still are not uncovering the courts. There may be a threat of rain still

:00:33.:00:36.

to come here at Wimbledon. We will keep you up-to-date. We are hoping

:00:37.:00:43.

we will get clay. On Centre Court, there is clay, and that is live on

:00:44.:00:47.

BBC One, Andy Murray and John Millman. Plenty of sporting

:00:48.:00:52.

superstars in the royal box, enjoying the tennis, and we are

:00:53.:00:55.

going to hear from a few of them. We are going to start with Geoff Hurst,

:00:56.:01:01.

one of the 66 heroes. He has been talking to Gary about being at

:01:02.:01:04.

Wimbledon and the England football team. What do you love about

:01:05.:01:10.

Wimbledon? It is one of the greatest events in the world. It is a sport I

:01:11.:01:16.

watch only second to football, and I really enjoy the sport. To come here

:01:17.:01:22.

to Wimbledon and do it at the top end is rather nice. Did you play?

:01:23.:01:30.

No, mainly cricket and football. I was talking to Gordon Banks, who is

:01:31.:01:35.

gay, and he played quite a bit of tennis in the summer. He is a fan.

:01:36.:01:46.

-- Gordon Banks, who is here. It is really different being here. It's

:01:47.:01:51.

completely different to on the TV. You really get a sense of the

:01:52.:01:54.

performance of the tennis players, their athleticism. It's a great

:01:55.:02:01.

sport. This month is the anniversary, 50 years ago. 66. Do

:02:02.:02:08.

you think about it every day? You think about it a lot, because people

:02:09.:02:14.

tend to... It is quite fresh, because people tell you their

:02:15.:02:17.

memories. You still bump into people who were at the game or tell you

:02:18.:02:21.

fantastic stories of where they were on the day, so it brings it home to

:02:22.:02:27.

you. Especially the goal will stop there were three of them! Some would

:02:28.:02:36.

say two, but we won't get into that. Have you got Scottish parents? Yes.

:02:37.:02:42.

I find it quite strange that you are actually down there being part of

:02:43.:02:47.

that fantastic day the stuff I have to pinch myself. It is talked about

:02:48.:02:50.

regularly, particularly this year. Over the years, people's memories

:02:51.:02:55.

have been one of the most enjoyable parts of winning. This year, it was

:02:56.:03:06.

a much different story at the Euros. It was very poor. Do you feel sad? I

:03:07.:03:15.

felt a bit sad for Roy in the press conference. I must admit. There is

:03:16.:03:19.

really nothing more to say and has been said in the last week by many

:03:20.:03:26.

pundits. One of the most disappointing days we've had a

:03:27.:03:32.

passport for a long time. You were on a hiding to nothing as a manager,

:03:33.:03:37.

won't you? Iron it is a difficult profession, but we know how

:03:38.:03:45.

difficult has been for many years. I don't envy the position. I got the

:03:46.:03:52.

sack from Chelsea in 1981, April the 23rd, 12 o'clock, and those days

:03:53.:03:57.

have changed, because you could earn as much money from a living point of

:03:58.:04:01.

view outside the game is in it, and that has changed dramatically. What

:04:02.:04:08.

did Sir Alf Ramsey have as a manager that subsequent ones haven't had?

:04:09.:04:14.

It's difficult to sum up. He had a system of play, which even at

:04:15.:04:18.

Ipswich. He kept that for the national play, -- team, twin

:04:19.:04:25.

strikers, the discipline was as strong and severe as I've ever

:04:26.:04:30.

experienced, and you'd look at that today and perhaps you'd argue it

:04:31.:04:33.

isn't as strong as it used to be. The other thing I'd definitely say,

:04:34.:04:38.

as a backbone of the team, you look at Banks, wasp, Jimmy Greaves, who

:04:39.:04:49.

would definitely have played if he hadn't been injured, and I think we

:04:50.:04:52.

definitely haven't had that sort of back pain. When you were playing,

:04:53.:04:59.

there were not so many foreign players, so so many youngsters don't

:05:00.:05:04.

get a chance now. You look at West Ham, and so many English people in

:05:05.:05:09.

it. That has changed dramatically. You wonder whether that have an

:05:10.:05:13.

impact on the national team, picking from a smaller base of players. It

:05:14.:05:19.

is sometimes, you try to analyse what has happened recently, and,

:05:20.:05:25.

although I have made comparisons, I think it's very difficult to put

:05:26.:05:29.

your finger on why, on that day, we were absolutely as poor as we were.

:05:30.:05:36.

We talk about a backbone, but you look at the players you have in

:05:37.:05:42.

midfield. You look at somebody like Alan Moore, he was only very young,

:05:43.:05:46.

but as a leader he was tenacious, nobby Stiles... Nobby was only 24.

:05:47.:05:59.

Alan Moore was only 21. He had a passion for playing for his country,

:06:00.:06:03.

the like of which I haven't experienced since then. It was a

:06:04.:06:08.

wonderful combination of experience, world-class players and some very

:06:09.:06:12.

tenacious and hard-working players. You could perhaps argue that we

:06:13.:06:15.

haven't seen that since. Looking at the results, why that hasn't

:06:16.:06:21.

happened. But it is sad and disappointing. Passion is an

:06:22.:06:27.

interesting word to use, relating to 66 and people and fans will often

:06:28.:06:32.

say, it's very different, and are the fans -- players hungry enough?

:06:33.:06:39.

People say very glibly that the passion isn't there and they don't

:06:40.:06:43.

enjoy playing for England as much as their clubs, but there are some

:06:44.:06:47.

fantastic players for our country over the years who have been

:06:48.:06:51.

passionate about playing for our country, so I am not sure that you

:06:52.:06:53.

can necessarily level that accusation. But it is very

:06:54.:06:59.

difficult, from that performance, to assess and analyse on that day just

:07:00.:07:04.

what's gone wrong with a group of players. It's quite astonishing.

:07:05.:07:10.

Does the next manager have to be British or English, Jeff? The top

:07:11.:07:16.

man in the world, foreign or otherwise, would be OK, I used to

:07:17.:07:22.

think. More recently, I am thinking towards having an English person in

:07:23.:07:26.

charge. I've changed my view on that, and that is my view today. I

:07:27.:07:29.

think it should be an integer manager. -- English manager. Really,

:07:30.:07:40.

you are limited to Allardyce, Alan Pardew, not the young guys. That is

:07:41.:07:46.

my view, I think we should get the best person available with the

:07:47.:07:51.

experience to do that. I wish you well in the 50 years celebrations.

:07:52.:07:55.

Men's and women's champions in Wimbledon, who are you thinking? Is

:07:56.:08:01.

it 18 seeds have already? I'm not sure. It would be great to see a

:08:02.:08:07.

Murray- Djokovic final. He is struggling at the moment. It would

:08:08.:08:12.

be great to see. Murray, is previous game, I thought he was fantastic,

:08:13.:08:16.

the most positive performance I've seen from him, really fantastic. If

:08:17.:08:21.

he carries that form, which he is showing throughout the tournament,

:08:22.:08:26.

it looks to me, unless there is a real upset, another Djokovic and

:08:27.:08:29.

Murray final. STUDIO: Always interesting to hear

:08:30.:08:37.

from Sir Geoff. I wonder what David Beckham toss thoughts are. I'm sure

:08:38.:08:42.

Gary will be on his way to try the few words with him. They are under

:08:43.:08:48.

the roof, so play is continuing on Centre Court. Andy Murray is in

:08:49.:08:53.

action against John Millman. Andy Murray has taken the first set 6-3,

:08:54.:08:59.

and he is down 2-1 in the second set. That match is on BBC One.

:09:00.:09:04.

Murray is on Centre Court on BBC One. I am looking at Court Number

:09:05.:09:10.

One. They are just taking the covers off. We are hoping to get Novak

:09:11.:09:16.

Djokovic and hurried back for you here on BBC Two. Sunshine around

:09:17.:09:22.

here once again. -- Novak Djokovic and Sam Querrey. When we get back,

:09:23.:09:27.

Djokovic will be serving to stay in the match. He is 2-1 down against

:09:28.:09:34.

Sam Querrey. Now lets hear from another couple of famous faces in

:09:35.:09:39.

the royal box, two bowlers who have led England's attack over the last

:09:40.:09:43.

decade, Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad. Lovely to have you at

:09:44.:09:49.

Wimbledon today. A bit surprised, because there is an England match, a

:09:50.:09:53.

series involving England, and you are still keen to be part of the

:09:54.:09:58.

one-day squad, Stuart. Summer is bidding for us, gritty -- summer is

:09:59.:10:06.

busy for us, with the crooked. It's great to come to the tennis. We have

:10:07.:10:12.

got a championship game tomorrow at Trent bridge, a great four days to

:10:13.:10:16.

get ourselves ready for what is a huge series towards the end of this

:10:17.:10:23.

summer at Pakistan. You couldn't play at the moment because you have

:10:24.:10:26.

got a stress fracture to your right shoulder? Yes, an unusual injury.

:10:27.:10:33.

The videos keep telling me they haven't seen it in a cricketer

:10:34.:10:41.

before. -- the physios. I will be at Nottingham watching the Lancashire

:10:42.:10:45.

boys take them on. I am still positive I can be fit for the first

:10:46.:10:52.

test. Ranking is all important in this type of sport. The ranking in

:10:53.:10:57.

Test cricket is passing between the two of you. Stuart, you were the

:10:58.:11:01.

world number one, but Jimmy, you have nicked it at the moment.

:11:02.:11:06.

Rankings are really important when you are number one. Different in

:11:07.:11:13.

cricket. In cricket, it is kind of a guide to how consistent you have

:11:14.:11:16.

been. They are not the be all and end all. Me and Stuart both take

:11:17.:11:22.

wickets and they helped us win games. If we do that, we will be

:11:23.:11:28.

near the top of the rankings. How important our events like Wimbledon

:11:29.:11:34.

to help you get away and recharge the batteries? It's brilliant. What

:11:35.:11:39.

a sporting event it is. I've not often have the opportunity. We are

:11:40.:11:44.

normally very busy in the summer. To have the opportunity to come here

:11:45.:11:48.

and what different games... It will be great to watch Andy Murray later

:11:49.:11:53.

on. It's a fantastic spectacle. A nice break. Pakistan is around the

:11:54.:11:58.

corner. Will you be fit for the first test? I am hopeful. The rehab

:11:59.:12:06.

is going really well. Still two weeks away, so plenty of time to try

:12:07.:12:11.

and get fit. I'm hopeful, because things are going so well for the

:12:12.:12:16.

team. We played really well against Sri Lanka. Pakistan will be even

:12:17.:12:20.

tougher. We got beaten by them in October at the Emirates. We want to

:12:21.:12:25.

get our own back. We've got a great opportunity in our own home

:12:26.:12:29.

conditions. We are playing well in Test cricket and we want to continue

:12:30.:12:34.

that. How nifty are you with a tennis racket? Very average! I

:12:35.:12:41.

started to take it up a little bit sort of March time, and it's a

:12:42.:12:48.

really tough sport. It's a great sport to play because it gets you

:12:49.:12:52.

running around and keeps you fit, but there are so many aspects you

:12:53.:12:57.

can make mistakes with which, as a professional sportsman, gets quite

:12:58.:13:01.

frustrating. I played a bit of tennis with Alex Hales, and he is

:13:02.:13:05.

fantastic. Egypt it so hard. He's got all the attributes to be a good

:13:06.:13:12.

tennis player. -- he hit it so hard. He is trying to coach me that it's

:13:13.:13:18.

not going so well. You come here and you just want to get out there and

:13:19.:13:22.

play, and then you do and you realise you are nowhere near as good

:13:23.:13:26.

as these guys! It is an amazing place to come. So much tennis to

:13:27.:13:31.

watch. We can relate to them a little bit, that one-on-one battle

:13:32.:13:34.

that we have with a batsman when you are bowling. It is interesting to

:13:35.:13:40.

try and see those sorts of battles. A great day out. I hope you guys go

:13:41.:13:47.

out and watch how the experts do it for a change. Good luck against

:13:48.:13:51.

Pakistan. Thank you. STUDIO: All athletes love watching

:13:52.:13:57.

other sports, and they are watching Andy Murray at the moment, 6-3, 2-1

:13:58.:14:04.

down in the second set, but they are in the royal box. A bit of a battle

:14:05.:14:09.

in the second set. That match is live over on BBC right now. You can

:14:10.:14:17.

see that the sun is shining. We are hearing no play on outside courts

:14:18.:14:23.

until around 5pm, but more hopeful than Court Number One, where the

:14:24.:14:26.

covers are off, the net is up and the players will be out in a few

:14:27.:14:31.

minutes. We have heard from Jimmy, Stuart and Sir Geoff Hurst, enjoying

:14:32.:14:36.

their time in the royal box. There are Olympians in there as well. It

:14:37.:14:40.

will be a very busy summer coming up. In 34 days' time, all roads will

:14:41.:14:44.

lead to reopen. -- will lead to Rio. Just weeks away from another

:14:45.:15:24.

Olympics in Rio. Can you give us an idea of what you are feeling at the

:15:25.:15:30.

moment? I am overwhelmed with joy. I can't wait to get there. Hopefully

:15:31.:15:35.

another time to create history by becoming another double Olympic

:15:36.:15:39.

champion. Never had one male or female in the boxing, so I'd love to

:15:40.:15:43.

bring that back to Britain. You are the only medallist in the boxing

:15:44.:15:48.

squad in London heading to reopen. I guess you are a senior member. Yes,

:15:49.:15:55.

I've got the most experience, the grand titles, the first time that's

:15:56.:16:00.

been done in boxing. I'm really excited am going into this one. I

:16:01.:16:05.

feel much more rounded, I have the experience. I know what it's like to

:16:06.:16:11.

go to the Olympics. In 2012, I was unsure, didn't know what to expect.

:16:12.:16:16.

This time, I'm full of confidence, fired up and ready to hopefully win

:16:17.:16:21.

some golds. Did I read somewhere that you think the squad might win

:16:22.:16:27.

more gold medals in Rio then you did in London? Yes, the team is strong.

:16:28.:16:33.

I think it's the best team we've had since 1984. It shows how well we are

:16:34.:16:41.

doing with British boxing. Give us a couple of names that people might

:16:42.:16:52.

not be familiar with. This one guy is really good, definitely one to

:16:53.:16:55.

watch out for. Anthony fouler as well, he is a really good prospect.

:16:56.:17:05.

Is his cousin in it as well? I think so.

:17:06.:17:12.

STUDIO: The good luck to nickel and all of the Olympians. The sun is

:17:13.:17:17.

shining here. This is a big moment for Novak Djokovic. This was just

:17:18.:17:21.

moments before going on court, getting himself in the right frame

:17:22.:17:27.

of mind. He knows he's got one game, he's got to hold his serve to stay

:17:28.:17:31.

in this championship, because he is coming out to serve to stay in the

:17:32.:17:37.

match. But he is one of the great competitors, if not the greatest. He

:17:38.:17:40.

will be giving his all against Sam Querrey. The players are on court,

:17:41.:17:46.

warming up. We will be on Court Number One live very soon. We can

:17:47.:17:50.

bring you some results from earlier. Nicolas Mahut will face the winner

:17:51.:17:57.

of Djokovic and Querrey. He came through against his doubles partner

:17:58.:18:00.

today. Rivals today, friends tomorrow. Mahut going through

:18:01.:18:10.

against Herbert. Good friends. Another seed going through is Marin

:18:11.:18:14.

Cilic, the number nine seed from Croatia. Through in straight sets

:18:15.:18:24.

against Lukas Lacko, 63, 6-3, 6-4. He is through to face Kei Nishikori.

:18:25.:18:33.

Alexander Zverev. This match is still a second-round match. Can you

:18:34.:18:37.

believe that on the middle Saturday? The 24th seed, one of the talented

:18:38.:18:44.

teenagers coming through. He came through against me Carl usually. 6-2

:18:45.:18:58.

in the fifth and final set. -- Mikhail. This started at 11am.

:18:59.:19:03.

Angelique Kerber, through in straight sets against Carina

:19:04.:19:10.

Witthoft of Germany. Going well at Wimbledon. And she is through to

:19:11.:19:16.

face this baseline battler, Misaki Doi of Japan, who came through

:19:17.:19:23.

against another German. She came through in straight sets, but there

:19:24.:19:26.

were a lot of long rallies in this match, just like match point. She is

:19:27.:19:34.

through 7-6, 6-3. She will play Angelique Kerber in the next round.

:19:35.:19:40.

The first match completed on Centre Court, under the roof, and Simona

:19:41.:19:45.

Halep, the number five seed, was up against Kiki Bertens. She is a

:19:46.:19:49.

player who got through to the semifinal of the French Open. Halep

:19:50.:19:56.

came through 6-4, 6-3. It was supposed to be tricky, but she came

:19:57.:20:00.

through in straight sets. She will face the winner of Lee's Bonet --

:20:01.:20:07.

Alize Cornet or Madison Keys. Andy Murray is on Centre Court. That

:20:08.:20:12.

match is on BBC One. We are heading over to Court Number One. We saw

:20:13.:20:16.

Novak Djokovic getting in the zone prior to the match. Here is a very

:20:17.:20:23.

nervous Boris Becker. This is such a crucial stage of the match, with

:20:24.:20:27.

Novak Djokovic coming out here to serve to stay in the match. He is

:20:28.:20:33.

two sets to one down, 5-6 down. He served for the set at 5-4 as well.

:20:34.:20:40.

It is a topsy-turvy match. Tim Henman is with Andrew Castle.

:20:41.:20:46.

It has been nervy every step of the way in this fourth set in

:20:47.:20:52.

particular, on court, of court, overnight, that was critical. Two

:20:53.:20:59.

sets down, Novak able to regroup. He came down, he went into a 4-0 lead.

:21:00.:21:06.

Another break, then he came out and wrapped it up. We were thinking it

:21:07.:21:10.

was following the same pattern as his match against Kevin Anderson

:21:11.:21:16.

last year, when he went on to win a third Wimbledon title, his second

:21:17.:21:21.

consecutive, but it wasn't to be. Sam Querrey breaking serve when

:21:22.:21:26.

Djokovic was trying to go two sets all. We are still out here on Court

:21:27.:21:32.

Number One. We should have something of a run at this now. We'll Novak

:21:33.:21:38.

Djokovic, who holds four grand slam championship. Sorry, what a site

:21:39.:21:43.

that is! Finally, some sunshine here on Court Number One. It would be a

:21:44.:21:49.

real shock to the men's draw if the man with the greatest present of all

:21:50.:21:55.

is taken out by Sam Querrey. Nothing great really at Nottingham or

:21:56.:22:00.

Queen's Club, but a former top 20 player. 20 years of age. A best

:22:01.:22:07.

ranking of 17. As a teenager, he was in the top 25 in singles and

:22:08.:22:11.

doubles, and they thought he could be the next big American star.

:22:12.:22:16.

Instead, he settled into four in America, 41st in the world, and

:22:17.:22:23.

perhaps climbing if you can do well here. He hasn't turned into the

:22:24.:22:27.

superstar that many people thought he would. Six foot six and one of

:22:28.:22:33.

the best arms in the business. His father, Mike, was drafted as a

:22:34.:22:36.

professional basketball player by the Detroit tigers. -- baseball

:22:37.:22:43.

player. His natural arm has been the weapon of this match so far. 31

:22:44.:22:50.

aces. Tim Henman, he came through that first match against -- first

:22:51.:22:54.

round match against Lukas Rosol from two sets down. That makes you feel

:22:55.:22:59.

good, when you come back from that sort of situation. He beat Djokovic

:23:00.:23:02.

in Paris in 2012. It gives you that sense of

:23:03.:23:15.

invincibility, when you have won a tight one to begin a tournament.

:23:16.:23:20.

Querrey was looking invincible in the first two sets yesterday, such

:23:21.:23:26.

clean tennis. Very few unforced errors, only dropping four points on

:23:27.:23:30.

his serve in the first set. Every time we've restarted today, and it

:23:31.:23:35.

has been stop start, it is the footwork where Querrey has to work

:23:36.:23:42.

harder. He's a big man, but the footwork can get a bit sticky. Over

:23:43.:23:48.

an hour since they last played. Novak Djokovic, top seed, defending

:23:49.:23:51.

champion, serving to stay in it. A deep ball on the baseline, but

:23:52.:25:28.

Djokovic hasn't got any challenges left in this set.

:25:29.:25:35.

I think I knew that, but you just lost a bit of concentration.

:25:36.:25:49.

A break it is, one which Novak Djokovic must win. -- a breaker.

:25:50.:26:06.

He has got one extra challenge now, Djokovic. Lets see if he needs it.

:26:07.:26:28.

Oh, that's wild! Didn't fancy it in the air, swirling wind. Craig

:26:29.:26:42.

Boynton, coaching Sam Querrey, experienced man. You really are

:26:43.:26:51.

mixed to the shop, did he? -- didn't really commit to the shot, did he?

:26:52.:28:20.

No time with these rain delays to play yourself into any sort of form,

:28:21.:28:27.

to get your feet coordinated, to find out where the middle of the

:28:28.:28:30.

racket exactly is. The longest rally of the match.

:28:31.:30:41.

Admirable resistance from Sam Querrey.

:30:42.:30:49.

Closing in on the biggest win of his career.

:30:50.:31:17.

UMPIRE: Mr Querry is challenging the ball. The ball is called in. I am

:31:18.:31:29.

sure this didn't even touch the line, it is so far inside.

:31:30.:32:01.

So much I contact in this match between Djokovic and Boris Becker. I

:32:02.:32:10.

would have loved to have heard their conversation jeering these breaks,

:32:11.:32:15.

especially the last one. -- during these breaks.

:32:16.:32:27.

He is really on the edge now. Two points for Querry on his serve.

:32:28.:32:58.

That is a way, too. -- that is away. Whatever happens, Querry will have a

:32:59.:33:16.

match point on his own delivery. Against the two-time defending

:33:17.:33:22.

champion, the number one seed. UMPIRE: Mr Querry is challenging the

:33:23.:33:31.

call on the service line. Probably just to buy some extra time. It has

:33:32.:33:48.

been over a year since anyone was able to beat Djokovic at one of

:33:49.:33:51.

these major championships. He's done it! A massive win for Sam

:33:52.:34:21.

Querrey. A massive shop for Wimbledon 2016. -- a massive shock.

:34:22.:34:31.

There will be no Novak Djokovic in week two at Wimbledon.

:34:32.:35:04.

No doubt, the enquiry will take place for Novak Djokovic, who made

:35:05.:35:22.

many more mistakes than we are used to.

:35:23.:35:38.

But let's not take away anything from the effort of Sam Querrey.

:35:39.:35:59.

Well, a stop- start a there are indeed on Court Number One, the

:36:00.:36:06.

biggest shock of the tournament so far. Sam Querrey gets the job done.

:36:07.:36:14.

Quite superb. He advances to the fourth round, and Djokovic is gone

:36:15.:36:19.

from the Men's Singles. Let's talk to the winner.

:36:20.:36:24.

A difficult match but the result was simple - you have beaten the world

:36:25.:36:30.

number one. Could you sum up the emotions Quint smack -- the

:36:31.:36:39.

emotions? I was happy to get through, and that is about it. This

:36:40.:36:44.

is a player who has not gone out in the third round since 2009. How did

:36:45.:36:50.

you do it where others could not? Yellow like I played the break

:36:51.:36:53.

points really well. Every time we had a break point, I was able to

:36:54.:36:58.

come with a big serve, and in the end, I fought the tie-breaker and

:36:59.:37:01.

got a couple of loose errors, and that was it. Overnight, how

:37:02.:37:13.

concerned were you that you were giving him the chance to regroup and

:37:14.:37:16.

regain that laments them, because we know how mentally strong he is? The

:37:17.:37:23.

first format games, then we had another rain delay, he got to

:37:24.:37:26.

regroup. He is so amazing, arguably one of the best, on the weighted

:37:27.:37:35.

possibly being the best ever. How far can you go in the rest of

:37:36.:37:40.

Wimbledon, do you think is Mike I am taking it one round at a time. I

:37:41.:37:45.

want to be happy with this right now and look forward to the next round a

:37:46.:37:51.

little bit. Congratulations, Sam. SUE BARKER: What a massive shock for

:37:52.:37:56.

Wimbledon, and a massive shock for this sport. The man who holds all

:37:57.:38:00.

four grand slam titles and has looked unbeatable in recent years,

:38:01.:38:06.

he has gone out in the third round to this man, who looks inspired

:38:07.:38:09.

here. We have seen him over the years and we know he can play well

:38:10.:38:13.

on grass, but this year he has come in a different player. The big serve

:38:14.:38:17.

as always been there, but he is moving so much better, and he is

:38:18.:38:27.

doing something he never did before in these championships, he came back

:38:28.:38:30.

from two sets down to win from 12-10 in the fifth. He took his chances

:38:31.:38:33.

when they mattered. We thought he might get tight on the match point,

:38:34.:38:36.

but he didn't come and he held firm and he has pulled off the biggest

:38:37.:38:39.

result of his career. A well done from Novak Djokovic, and I would

:38:40.:38:46.

like to see what Novak has to say in his press conference. I don't know

:38:47.:38:49.

whether it is an illness or an injury, but he didn't look like he

:38:50.:38:53.

was all are mac. Certainly not be Djokovic we have seen in previous

:38:54.:38:59.

championships. Sam is the man on Court Number One today. We will hear

:39:00.:39:04.

a lot more from him. This news will be hitting all around Wimbledon,

:39:05.:39:08.

upon the big hill and on Centre Court as well, because they will put

:39:09.:39:12.

the results are on the scoreboard on Centre Court, but play continues

:39:13.:39:19.

over on Centre Court. Andy Murray is there. He is one set up and he is

:39:20.:39:25.

serving for 5-4. I get a feeling there is a buzz around Centre Court.

:39:26.:39:29.

I bet they have put that result. Murray will not have missed it,

:39:30.:39:34.

neither will Ivan Lendl. That has made this tournament very

:39:35.:39:40.

interesting indeed. 6-3, five - four Murray recon think about that. He

:39:41.:39:46.

has a job to do. What a story this is. Murray is in the other half, but

:39:47.:39:52.

Federer is in Djokovic's half of the draw. It makes it very in to

:39:53.:39:58.

resting. Sam Querrey is through, and I am sure someone who will be

:39:59.:40:08.

delighted with that is Nicolas Mahut, who came through in four sets

:40:09.:40:12.

against his doubles partner, Herbert. It is now Nicolas Mahut who

:40:13.:40:17.

will play Sam Querrey at the very top of the draw. It is Querry

:40:18.:40:22.

against Nicolas Mahut, not Novak Djokovic. Well, well! Tim has made

:40:23.:40:32.

it here. What a shock. First, well done to Sam Querrey. He held his

:40:33.:40:37.

nerve when it mattered. Very much. There were so many different

:40:38.:40:41.

scenarios and aspects to this match. When you saw how he played in the

:40:42.:40:48.

two sets yesterday. He won it in a tie-break, 8-6. He was waiting for

:40:49.:40:53.

the level to drop, and it did. That was when the first signs of Djokovic

:40:54.:40:59.

not engaging mentally, 4-1 down in the second set. He was serving and

:41:00.:41:02.

volleying half-heartedly. We then had the rain delay and had to come

:41:03.:41:06.

back today. Then you felt that Querry was aware he had something to

:41:07.:41:10.

lose, and he lost the first four or five games in the first set. It was

:41:11.:41:15.

difficult for both players to get rhythm, because we had so many

:41:16.:41:19.

different delays, coming on and going off again. Once it got to that

:41:20.:41:23.

end of the fourth set, you felt that when Djokovic was serving for the

:41:24.:41:26.

set, this was the moment he would turn it around. For me, it was

:41:27.:41:31.

always Querry's belief that he could hang in there and pull off the

:41:32.:41:36.

upset. All credit to him. What about Djokovic? Your commentary box is

:41:37.:41:40.

close to the court. He didn't look well, did he? He was talking a lot

:41:41.:41:46.

with his box, particularly Boris. To me, he looked ill. I don't know. For

:41:47.:41:54.

me, if I was going to question something, it was more mental than

:41:55.:41:57.

physical. There was a lot of eye contact in the box, as Andrew

:41:58.:42:01.

mentioned. We have seen over the years, he is so clear in his mind,

:42:02.:42:06.

and his consistency in the majors has been unbelievable, whereas

:42:07.:42:13.

today, it was so are and down. Today in practice, he did not want to

:42:14.:42:17.

engage with it. Normally, he would be fired up and ready to go. It will

:42:18.:42:22.

be interesting to see what he has to say in the press conference, I'm

:42:23.:42:26.

sure. At the end, he gave Sam the thumbs up and said well done, but it

:42:27.:42:30.

was a bizarre performance, because we have seen for so many years how

:42:31.:42:35.

good and consistent he has been in the big events, and we haven't seen

:42:36.:42:38.

a performance like this from Djokovic for a long time. From

:42:39.:42:42.

Querry's point of view, you have to give yourself the opportunity. 31

:42:43.:42:48.

aces. Djokovic is possibly the best return in the history of the game.

:42:49.:42:53.

To keep going for it in the important moments, it's an

:42:54.:42:57.

unbelievable victory for him. What a great opportunity for the top half

:42:58.:43:02.

of the draw. Those guys with the big serves, they are not easy to play

:43:03.:43:06.

because you do not get a lot of red and don't get your racket on the

:43:07.:43:11.

ball. It is hard to keep your concentration in matches like that.

:43:12.:43:16.

Absolutely. It puts pressure on your server if he is holding serve

:43:17.:43:19.

consistently. He is serving aces. We were looking for that reaction

:43:20.:43:24.

today. Djokovic looked like he would respond by getting that third set,

:43:25.:43:28.

but Querry was able to keep hanging in there in the important moments.

:43:29.:43:33.

In the tie-break, he kept the first serve percentage up and when he got

:43:34.:43:37.

the opportunity in the tie-break, he was obviously pretty relieved to get

:43:38.:43:41.

over the finishing line. We saw it with Serena at the US Open, that the

:43:42.:43:46.

pressure got to her, maybe the pressure of holding all four. When

:43:47.:43:53.

Boris joined us at the Queen's Club, he talked about how everyone since

:43:54.:43:56.

the Australian was going on about, you will win all four by winning the

:43:57.:44:00.

French. The pressure is on and it has got to get to you at some point.

:44:01.:44:06.

He is human. He is a student of the game, and obviously to have that

:44:07.:44:11.

achievement is great. To win four in a row. Boris says you can only worry

:44:12.:44:17.

about the next match, and that is what he has tried to do, but it was

:44:18.:44:22.

a big dip in performance in terms of the level that Djokovic has been

:44:23.:44:27.

playing at, and he is human. It wasn't easy, it was pretty swirly

:44:28.:44:32.

there, fund on, you have got to warm up again, try to find your timing.

:44:33.:44:37.

The rhythm the back of your court -- the court, there are many variables.

:44:38.:44:42.

We have seen the top players come through those matches so often, and

:44:43.:44:46.

that is what makes them great champions, but today was one

:44:47.:44:50.

occasion when he was not able to do it. Let's look at the statistics

:44:51.:44:54.

which show what a significant shock this was here. There we are. The

:44:55.:45:03.

first Wimbledon loss in 17 matches. The first defeat in 31 Grand Slam

:45:04.:45:15.

matches. The first time that he has lost in the third round since 2009 -

:45:16.:45:22.

that is how dominant he has been. It has been an incredible run, and we

:45:23.:45:25.

obviously reflect on the last 12 months of majors, but when you go

:45:26.:45:29.

over the last three or four years, how he has dominated and finished

:45:30.:45:32.

number one player in the world, it is incredible. It is the first

:45:33.:45:37.

disappointing loss that he has had in a big tournament. When you bring

:45:38.:45:41.

it into the context of this event, we were just catching a glimpse of

:45:42.:45:44.

Centre Court with Andy Murray, and it was pretty obvious that the

:45:45.:45:48.

result will have come up on the screen. The bars. It is not ideal

:45:49.:45:53.

when you are trying to concentrate on your own job, up one set and

:45:54.:45:59.

serving 5-4 for the second. For that to NEM pact on Andy -- for that to

:46:00.:46:12.

have an impact on Andy... It makes a big impact on the top half of the

:46:13.:46:17.

draw. There will be a certain Mr Federer with his feet up today

:46:18.:46:23.

thinking, that is interesting. Yes, there are lots of people who will

:46:24.:46:27.

fancy their chances. Certainly, Federer is looking to play himself

:46:28.:46:31.

into form. You have that section with Federer, Johnson, Cilic and

:46:32.:46:38.

Nishikori. Federer serves well. When you look at the section above, you

:46:39.:46:43.

have Milos Raonic on Centre Court this afternoon later. He played well

:46:44.:46:49.

at Queen's, getting to the finals. One of those players is going to get

:46:50.:46:53.

through to the final. Federer is the one who has the form and history

:46:54.:46:57.

here, but you have to wonder if there will be a much bigger surprise

:46:58.:47:02.

finals. Steve Johnson is good on grass. E won at Nottingham. -- he

:47:03.:47:15.

won. You feel that with the year that Roger has had, he had to have

:47:16.:47:19.

the knee operation after the Australian, his first surgery in his

:47:20.:47:23.

career, and the rehabilitation after that. He has had back problems as

:47:24.:47:30.

well. Here's another one who hasn't been able to get a lot of momentum

:47:31.:47:35.

or rhythm in tournament play. On the grass in Stuttgart, he got some

:47:36.:47:39.

matches under his belt and looked like he was playing better and

:47:40.:47:43.

better against Evans, but this is a step up in class. Having said that,

:47:44.:47:48.

when UCD number one player in the world doll out of the top half, they

:47:49.:47:52.

are going to be keen to take advantage of that. I am hearing that

:47:53.:48:07.

Murray is odds-on to win Wimbledon. I think it was odds-on that we would

:48:08.:48:14.

stay in Europe as well! It is a two horse race and you have to prove it

:48:15.:48:17.

on the day. Andy has been so good as well. Djokovic has dominated and is

:48:18.:48:22.

clearly the number one player in the world, but I think Andy has

:48:23.:48:26.

separated himself from the others, so he was my favourite before the

:48:27.:48:29.

tournament and certainly my favourite now that Djokovic has gone

:48:30.:48:35.

out. That match is still on today. We are still a long way from the

:48:36.:48:40.

title. As far as Sam Querrey goes, he now has to regroup and say, look,

:48:41.:48:46.

I may have done that, but now I have to concentrate on my next match. You

:48:47.:48:51.

cannot dip in form because he is up against a player who plays well on

:48:52.:48:55.

grass, Nicolas Mahut. It is good to have gotten that match out of the

:48:56.:49:01.

way. Tomorrow he will be able to enjoy the win, but he then has to

:49:02.:49:05.

move forward and think about the next opponent. Nicolas Mahut knows

:49:06.:49:10.

his way around the grass court. I saw him play the first round at

:49:11.:49:15.

Queen's against Andy, I think it was too tie-break sets. It was quality

:49:16.:49:20.

tennis. He won a grass court tournament before that. It is one of

:49:21.:49:24.

those that, sometimes you reaction that can be negative. There can be a

:49:25.:49:31.

downturn and it is tough to back it up. Querry has been around, and

:49:32.:49:35.

experienced campaigner, so it is a tough match to pick. The match

:49:36.:49:40.

point, that will be a point he will want to see time and again, when he

:49:41.:49:46.

put out the great man, Novak Djokovic. He had a chance to get a

:49:47.:49:51.

bit tight in this, didn't he? He was looking for the big serve to finish.

:49:52.:49:55.

He was relieved when this forehand went wide. You have to feel for

:49:56.:50:04.

Novak Djokovic. You know he is going to bounce back strongly. Certainly,

:50:05.:50:11.

and there are so many big events. He will move forward after this

:50:12.:50:15.

tournament. You have the Great Britain- Serbia Davis Cup tie. Then

:50:16.:50:22.

you have the Olympics in Rio, and then the US Open. It is a busy

:50:23.:50:26.

schedule, but first and foremost, Djokovic will be massively

:50:27.:50:30.

disappointed to have gone out of Wimbledon. As soon as we hear from

:50:31.:50:33.

Novak Djokovic in the press conference, we will bring that. Tim,

:50:34.:50:37.

thank you. We know Novak Djokovic has gone out, that is the big story

:50:38.:50:42.

of the Championships. Andy Murray is on Centre Court at the moment, under

:50:43.:50:48.

the roof, and 5-5. Millman has broken back and fought back, so

:50:49.:50:52.

Murray still has some work to do. That is live on BBC One. We have a

:50:53.:50:57.

two-time champion on trouble on Court Number Two. Petra Kvitova is

:50:58.:51:06.

one set down and in a second set tie-break Ekaterina Makarova. -- a

:51:07.:51:16.

second set tie-break set Ekaterina Makarova. Let's join the commentary

:51:17.:51:23.

team. At the moment, Makarova looks the

:51:24.:51:26.

more confident. That has been the story of the match. 39 unforced

:51:27.:51:34.

errors from Petra. Last night, after the holdover, Makarova won the first

:51:35.:51:44.

set. To that of a broker back. Since then, -- Kvitova broke back. She

:51:45.:51:59.

looks the steadier, Sam. It is windy. They have been on and off the

:52:00.:52:02.

court, longer breaks, shorter breaks. Three times they have been

:52:03.:52:12.

on and off. They started last night. Gathering again here.

:52:13.:52:34.

She had that sinking feeling as she turned around, Kvitova. Her coach on

:52:35.:52:48.

the right. It has been a stressful appointment, hasn't it? She has been

:52:49.:52:57.

so streaky out here. Well done. Use that sparingly but effectively. She

:52:58.:53:09.

has played well in patches. She has the bigger strike, the bigger

:53:10.:53:14.

arsenal, but for me, it has been all crisis management.

:53:15.:53:44.

So much time for curricula. The wind may have been a factor. It has been

:53:45.:53:52.

an error- strewn match. With all these breaks, really, Kvitova is a

:53:53.:53:57.

high-performance sports car wherever thing has to be absolutely right.

:53:58.:54:04.

When it is, she can win Grand Slams. Makarova has been very solid, she

:54:05.:54:07.

has played through the centre of the court. She has played a smart match,

:54:08.:54:16.

served very consistently. She occasionally doesn't back herself in

:54:17.:54:17.

these kinds of contests. She surely has to put pressure on

:54:18.:54:46.

Makarova. It's just not happening. She has a history of losing matches

:54:47.:54:56.

she should win. She was a quarterfinalist here a couple of

:54:57.:55:01.

years ago, when she beat Radwanska. That was a case in point. She is two

:55:02.:55:04.

points away here from a huge win. That is well played. Much simpler

:55:05.:55:53.

when they first serve goes in. But the way she has been out here this

:55:54.:55:57.

afternoon, and yesterday, I think she has been fractionally better

:55:58.:56:00.

today than yesterday. You would not trust her to hit a barn door from

:56:01.:56:06.

five paces, would you? These two serves could do the trick for my

:56:07.:56:08.

caravan. -- for Makarova. They're rather the nerves. 64 mph on

:56:09.:56:45.

that. No velocity at all. There is her coach, she has seen it before,

:56:46.:56:48.

maybe suspected it would happen again.

:56:49.:57:06.

Just enough stability there. And here is match point for Ekaterina

:57:07.:57:11.

Makarova. She's got it! A massive win.

:57:12.:57:53.

Makarova has been in the top ten in the world only a year ago, but she

:57:54.:57:56.

has just fallen away from the big time. She is back in it after taking

:57:57.:58:01.

out the double champion here, and a real threat to win the title, Petra

:58:02.:58:07.

Kvitova. You feel like she would be pulling a rabbit out of a hat. She

:58:08.:58:12.

has had a poor season and a bucket load of unforced errors, 43 in

:58:13.:58:16.

total. Makarova played a smart game, on and off the court. Very concise

:58:17.:58:22.

and consistent. There were a few who thought that Kvitova could have a

:58:23.:58:28.

run, but very difficult when you come in with so many losses behind

:58:29.:58:33.

you. She has done not a lot of this years. Quarterfinalist in my MA,

:58:34.:58:39.

where she beat Kvitova. Quarterfinalist in Eastbourne. She

:58:40.:58:42.

has only won two titles in her career. One of them was here in

:58:43.:58:49.

2010. She has made it through to the last 32. Makarova the winner, 7-5,

:58:50.:58:54.

7-6. SUE BARKER: Another shock out there. On Court Number Two. It seems

:58:55.:59:00.

as though all the champions are falling. We will have a very

:59:01.:59:04.

different second week here at Wimbledon. New names are emerging,

:59:05.:59:08.

and new match ups that we will be looking forward to in the second

:59:09.:59:12.

week. It has just been one seed going out after another right the

:59:13.:59:15.

way through this tournament. The biggest shock of all happened a

:59:16.:59:21.

short while ago on number one Court, when Novak Djokovic, the holder of

:59:22.:59:28.

all four grand slam titles was beaten in four sets by the big

:59:29.:59:31.

serving American Sam Querrey. That error proved costly. Querry is

:59:32.:59:38.

through in four sets. Novak Djokovic, who did not look engaged,

:59:39.:59:42.

we don't know what was wrong or the reason for it, but he was totally

:59:43.:59:46.

outplayed by Querry. Two sets to love down last night. He had a

:59:47.:59:55.

chance, served for the fourth set at 5-4 but was broken, and then Querry

:59:56.:59:59.

took his chance. What a story this is, everyone talking about it at

:00:00.:00:04.

Wimbledon. The person who looked unbeatable in the majors is out in

:00:05.:00:07.

the third round, the first time he has lost at this stage of the

:00:08.:00:14.

tournament since 2009. His reign at the top in the Grand Slams is over,

:00:15.:00:18.

and Querry is the man everyone is talking about here. Sam Querrey is

:00:19.:00:22.

the man who is through to the next round. Another American through.

:00:23.:00:28.

They are going well - Steve Johnson, who has been so impressive on the

:00:29.:00:34.

grass court. He is a big hitter and he is through against Grigor

:00:35.:00:39.

Dimitrov. He is through in four sets. So Johnson goes through here

:00:40.:00:46.

at Wimbledon. That is what has been happening.

:00:47.:00:54.

Serving for it again, he has won be first set against John Millman, that

:00:55.:01:04.

match is on BBC One. We are heading back to Court One, and I wonder how

:01:05.:01:12.

the number nine seed is feeling, she is up against it here. She has

:01:13.:01:19.

already lost her serve. Are we in for another shock? Plenty of

:01:20.:01:31.

expectation on the shoulders. Recently broken into the world top

:01:32.:01:40.

ten, already a break down. Couple of unforced errors in that service

:01:41.:01:49.

going. Mis-hit does not help matters.

:01:50.:01:57.

Slow start for Madison, making many unforced errors early on. Making

:01:58.:02:12.

zero winners. Excuse me, one a winner and zero unforced errors, she

:02:13.:02:15.

is really just getting the ball back into play. Madison, right now she is

:02:16.:02:19.

misfiring. That is how to win a point. That

:02:20.:02:38.

will help settle the nerves down for Madison. If she can get a few points

:02:39.:02:45.

each game on her serve, she has done a great job, using her serve so well

:02:46.:02:53.

on the grass. Mixing it up with a slicer, has a very cute serve. Not

:02:54.:03:00.

sure able to handle both spins coming at them.

:03:01.:03:11.

She is enjoying her highest seeding at a Grand Slam at Wimbledon. She

:03:12.:03:22.

began her year outside the top ten, she was the 15th seed at the

:03:23.:03:23.

Australian Open. She is pressing early. Not quite

:03:24.:03:43.

finding her range. Not at all. One of the problems with Madison, in

:03:44.:03:48.

between shock, when things are not going well, to get more margin and

:03:49.:03:59.

more spin -- in between shot. Firmly struck. She knew where she wanted it

:04:00.:04:08.

to go. Chance to hold serve. Get a first game on the board.

:04:09.:04:29.

Gets herself on the board, that might settle her nerves, the first

:04:30.:04:41.

holder of serve for Madison Keys. But Cornet is leading to- one in the

:04:42.:04:46.

opening set. You are very close to Madison. Is relishing having broken

:04:47.:04:55.

into the top ten? Absolutely. With that comes more pressure, but it had

:04:56.:05:02.

been 17 years since an American had debuted in the top ten and four

:05:03.:05:06.

years people were talking about Madison and maybe Sloan Stevens, is

:05:07.:05:11.

able to accomplish that, as well. She has embraced it and has done a

:05:12.:05:20.

very nice job of relishing it. It is a huge feat to get into the top ten,

:05:21.:05:25.

but also hungry for more. Very comfortable with where she is. Her

:05:26.:05:30.

career and how she is playing. Serena Williams, she was the last

:05:31.:05:35.

American player... Get a macro that is so crazy. Madison could not

:05:36.:05:40.

believe it, when she had been told she had broken into the top ten. --

:05:41.:05:50.

that is so crazy. She has something to live up to, and she has got to

:05:51.:05:55.

come from behind, as well. Trailing 2-1 and a break down.

:05:56.:06:21.

Double fault from both players. You take every free point that you can

:06:22.:06:33.

get. She hit so deep with that forehand,

:06:34.:07:02.

Keys. Did a better job of getting more rotation on her shots, but

:07:03.:07:07.

still not timing it perfectly. The more shots she can hit the more

:07:08.:07:12.

comfortable she can get out here, the better.

:07:13.:07:35.

That is better. She is starting to work the points better. Cornet will

:07:36.:07:49.

have to focus on her depth in this match, try to get her balls a bit

:07:50.:07:53.

deeper in the court and try to push Madison back behind the baseline.

:07:54.:08:17.

Fairly disgusted with herself, double fault at the worst possible

:08:18.:08:23.

time, handing break points to your opponent.

:08:24.:08:30.

Cornet wants a look at this. It looked well in. Very big second

:08:31.:09:38.

serve, 69 mph, and well inside the baseline, not even close. Touch of

:09:39.:09:44.

desperation on the break points, but it means we are all level and Keys

:09:45.:09:53.

has broken back. It gives Madison a chance to hit the reset button,

:09:54.:09:59.

starting again now. Slow start for two games, but now starting to find

:10:00.:10:00.

her range. We know she can be a feisty

:10:01.:10:12.

competitor, she often brings drama to the court. Drama was the first

:10:13.:10:17.

thing that came to my mind when you were saying that. Saw some

:10:18.:10:21.

incredible antics at the French Open with cramping and getting injury

:10:22.:10:29.

time-outs. And from Cornet, and incredible over the top celebration

:10:30.:10:34.

when she eventually won that drawn-out match, which caused a lot

:10:35.:10:44.

of controversy. Much quicker service going for Keys. -- service game.

:10:45.:11:17.

That was older friends from Cornet and the punches kept coming from the

:11:18.:11:25.

Keys. -- that was all defence from Cornet. Keys moves ahead. The

:11:26.:11:38.

forehands, getting a better position, more spin, most

:11:39.:11:44.

importantly, that helps her find her range and her targets better, and so

:11:45.:11:53.

much power. Almost every match Madison registers a couple of miles

:11:54.:11:56.

per hour faster than all of her opponents. And on this surface where

:11:57.:12:02.

it is so fast and the balls are skidding, it is very hard to control

:12:03.:12:08.

your own ground strokes. She has been on the scene for a long time.

:12:09.:12:14.

Played her first WTA match at the age of just 14. When such big things

:12:15.:12:20.

are expected of you at such a young age, she has had to cope with a lot

:12:21.:12:25.

of expectation and a lot of predictions will stop all of which

:12:26.:12:30.

she is helping one day will come true. Isco has opened up in the

:12:31.:12:39.

Gotham Path, as well. -- this draw has opened up in the second half, as

:12:40.:12:47.

well. But still a lot of quality players, especially for this

:12:48.:12:55.

section. The winner will play Halep and then most likely Angelique

:12:56.:12:56.

Kerber. LAUGHTER

:12:57.:13:39.

She keeps hammering away. Madison has so much time in this match,

:13:40.:13:44.

especially when Cornet gets the ball short, she's able to dictate play

:13:45.:13:46.

almost every point. The second time we have seen Cornet

:13:47.:14:13.

import the drop shot and both times Keys has won the points -- employ

:14:14.:14:28.

the drop shot. She is such a good move.

:14:29.:14:39.

And it is a change of pace in those forehands, suddenly steps on the

:14:40.:14:46.

accelerator and gives it much more. And her footwork has got better

:14:47.:14:49.

compared to the first two games and now she is in position with her body

:14:50.:14:53.

weight going forward, with just about every ground stroke she is

:14:54.:15:00.

hitting, Madison. Cornet has got to get more on her own ground shots.

:15:01.:15:26.

A break to love and those points very much won by Keys. So easy to

:15:27.:15:40.

see when Madison is on and playing well, why people have expected big

:15:41.:15:43.

things from her, especially in the United States. Great technique,

:15:44.:15:49.

great athlete, big serve and amazing power off the ground. It has taken

:15:50.:15:54.

her a bit longer than expected to harness it all and to learn to play

:15:55.:15:59.

points but you can't deny the natural talent and athleticism that

:16:00.:16:00.

she possesses. Not quite deep enough from Cornet,

:16:01.:16:34.

Madison with her body weight going forward. A little too close, but she

:16:35.:16:40.

made it. Far too short, always going to pounce on that. They are a bit

:16:41.:16:50.

unlucky to be sitting out of the sunshine up there. We have not seen

:16:51.:16:55.

much of it. I do not see any clouds at the moment, it is amazing. The

:16:56.:17:03.

Denon say summer has arrived yet. -- we dare not say summer has arrived

:17:04.:17:06.

yet. LAUGHTER Wonderful. Really starting to motor.

:17:07.:17:36.

12 points in a row, Madison has won, incredible Street. -- Street. She

:17:37.:17:45.

started off shakily, began the match with a double fault.

:17:46.:18:03.

And she takes a 5-2 lead. What a kick there was on that serve,

:18:04.:18:15.

creating so many problems. So after you get plays that specialise in one

:18:16.:18:21.

serve for another, maybe a player who likes a slice serve, so you know

:18:22.:18:25.

in a tense moment they will probably come round the outside. Truly,

:18:26.:18:31.

Madison is one of the few players. Serena Williams has all of the

:18:32.:18:35.

different service, whether slicing it away from her opponent, and then

:18:36.:18:39.

gets an incredible kick on her serve, as well, and not many players

:18:40.:18:44.

have that ability on the women's tour to do that with their serve --

:18:45.:18:56.

Serena Williams has all of the different service. What about

:18:57.:19:01.

coaching? She's pretty good about it. Most important is to keep it

:19:02.:19:12.

simple. She's not a player... Oh! There are the clouds. We spoke too

:19:13.:19:18.

soon. She's very hard-working, Madison. The hard work so far paying

:19:19.:19:31.

off. Into the top ten, ninth seed. And now Cornet is serving to stay in

:19:32.:19:33.

this first set. Double fault number three. She might

:19:34.:19:59.

well puff out her cheeks, she needs to get her going together pretty

:20:00.:20:06.

quickly. -- her game together pretty quickly.

:20:07.:20:16.

The serve from Cornet just served a streak -- just stopped a streak of

:20:17.:20:41.

18 straight points by Madison. And has not made an unforced error now

:20:42.:20:44.

since the fourth game. She has cut down on them.

:20:45.:21:33.

All of a sudden. Another area of her game which has improved so much, the

:21:34.:21:44.

return, and putting it back into play, the last two returns, that was

:21:45.:21:50.

more like the old Madison. That would collect snow, given the

:21:51.:21:57.

weather we have had, that would not be unlikely. The game goes to

:21:58.:22:05.

Cornet, but Keys still has the chance to serve for the opening set.

:22:06.:22:15.

The coach and train there of Manson. They read good mix. Thomas is more

:22:16.:22:24.

disciplined and serious, Scott is more laid-back. -- trainer. He has

:22:25.:22:31.

also worked with rear Sharapova. Beautifully wrong-footed Cornet. The

:22:32.:23:20.

second serve of Madison, you can see how high this kicks up, Cornet is

:23:21.:23:26.

making contact above her shoulders, very tough for opponents to get the

:23:27.:23:30.

upper hand even when returning the second serve of Keys.

:23:31.:23:44.

She was in the right position at the net. She had the whole court, one of

:23:45.:23:52.

the few points that Cornet has been in control of, and it was not a good

:23:53.:23:57.

enough for -- volley. That will hand Keys set point.

:23:58.:24:39.

Cornet is yet to drop a set at Wimbledon this year, came through in

:24:40.:24:45.

straight sets in both rounds. But she really had to guts it out in the

:24:46.:24:49.

last match. That is a smart serve, right after

:24:50.:25:32.

the double fault, getting the serve to curve into the body, very safe,

:25:33.:25:37.

takes the pressure off her having to hit her second. Set point number

:25:38.:25:49.

two. The errors seem to be creeping in at the wrong time. Definitely a

:25:50.:25:55.

bit tighter, trying to serve the set out, that she was a couple of

:25:56.:26:06.

service games ago. That return of serve did not feel as if it was

:26:07.:26:13.

under control. Somehow the angle has earned Cornet break back point.

:26:14.:26:19.

UMPIRE: Miss Keys is challenging the call.

:26:20.:26:32.

Oh! Hawk-Eye says yes. Cornet cannot believe it. Seriously, how can you

:26:33.:26:54.

see? Cannot argue with Hawk eye too much. That is effectively what the

:26:55.:26:58.

chair umpire might have said. The screamer from Madison Keys. --

:26:59.:27:31.

scream. Cornet let her off the hook, had a couple of short balls, was

:27:32.:27:36.

making shots in, and then had one to the forehand with not enough power

:27:37.:27:41.

and Madison made her pay. The bit more blustery down there, as well.

:27:42.:27:45.

-- a bit. Better from Cornet in that rally.

:27:46.:28:26.

She likes to wear down her opponents. I'm not sure she meant to

:28:27.:28:31.

make that ball so short, but it was perfect. She was well behind the

:28:32.:28:36.

baseline and it did not bounce up. As you said, it is much breezy out

:28:37.:28:41.

there, play is more difficult for these two. -- more breezy. We spoke

:28:42.:28:58.

about the difficulty Madison had of closing her game out the other

:28:59.:29:07.

night. I wonder if some of those Fx are lingering around. Well, that

:29:08.:29:20.

helps. Cornet likes to work herself up into a lather, I'm never sure if

:29:21.:29:22.

it helps. Oh! Welcomer she opened up her

:29:23.:29:44.

shoulders so much, telegraphed where the forehand was going. -- well, she

:29:45.:29:53.

opened up her shoulders. Third break point for Cornet, with Keys at the

:29:54.:29:59.

other end battling to serve out the set.

:30:00.:30:15.

Coming back on serve in this opening set. It wasn't the prettiest of

:30:16.:30:22.

games by either player, but Cornet gets back on track. Keys, 5-4. I

:30:23.:30:39.

mentioned the second round match against RAA rani, she was on court

:30:40.:30:45.

for more than two hours and it was a gruelling match. Eventually she came

:30:46.:30:49.

through in straight sets. It was a good win for her. She has only

:30:50.:30:56.

beaten Sara Errani once before. It was good for her -- it was not very

:30:57.:31:05.

good for her preparation for Wimbledon. Keys came in with her run

:31:06.:31:15.

to the title in Birmingham. How lovely to see that blue sky up

:31:16.:31:19.

above. Hopefully, this match will go through uninterrupted. Such a long

:31:20.:31:22.

wait for the players to even get this match underway. Cornet,

:31:23.:31:27.

probably very happy with the rain yesterday. It gave her another day

:31:28.:31:33.

off and more time for her body to recover for today's match. So, the

:31:34.:31:47.

Frenchwoman, ranked 61 in the world, serving to bring things level at 5-5

:31:48.:31:49.

if she can. That is the hammer blow forehand. It

:31:50.:32:19.

is a shot that Keys is more comfortable with, especially in

:32:20.:32:23.

tight moments and Cornet knows that she missed played a couple of

:32:24.:32:26.

forehands short in the court, into the Keys forehand. Tough to win

:32:27.:32:30.

those types of points if you are Cornet.

:32:31.:32:42.

So near! Picking it up off of her shoelaces. She is trying to hammer

:32:43.:32:58.

that ball to the backhand wing of Keys, knowing that beforehand is the

:32:59.:33:06.

stronger weapon. -- knowing that the forehand.

:33:07.:33:19.

It is hard always to get the ball where you want it against Keys,

:33:20.:33:26.

because it comes back awfully fast. No questioning, her level has

:33:27.:33:29.

dropped from the middle part of the set, where she looked almost

:33:30.:33:32.

unbeatable. That is what you have to do against Keys, weather the storms.

:33:33.:33:41.

From 0-30, Keys letting an opportunity slip.

:33:42.:34:14.

Again, undone by the power. It is coming back from the other side of

:34:15.:34:29.

the net. So, a fourth time, a fourth chance for Madison Keys to seal this

:34:30.:34:34.

sector. She couldn't do it on her own serve, can she do it on

:34:35.:34:36.

Cornet's? That is how much she wants it.

:34:37.:34:52.

Although she hasn't played her best tennis throughout this whole set,

:34:53.:34:58.

but she breaks serve to win the first, 6-4. The job is done, Lindsay

:34:59.:35:04.

Davenport, at least at this moment. What a way to win that set. The

:35:05.:35:09.

level had dropped off Madison. Played it safe but forced herself to

:35:10.:35:12.

be aggressive in the final point. She started with a nice, measured

:35:13.:35:19.

return, had some spin on this. No hesitation with the short ball

:35:20.:35:24.

moving forward. Nice backhand volley to the open court, but better yet,

:35:25.:35:28.

the reaction. No question, a couple of nerves entered the equation in

:35:29.:35:34.

closing out this set. She was pumped. And she is not so happy.

:35:35.:35:51.

All that yellow on the right-hand side shows who came out on top.

:35:52.:35:59.

Cornet has to win more points on her first and second serves. Since she

:36:00.:36:05.

is not going for much on the first serve, it would probably help to get

:36:06.:36:12.

a higher percentage in play. The depth of the Cornet shot is

:36:13.:36:15.

important. It is difficult to win points when you drop balls short

:36:16.:36:19.

against Keys and that big she possesses. Only two winners from the

:36:20.:36:26.

racket of Cornet. A huge difference in the stats. It shows how Keys has

:36:27.:36:33.

been handing her points. If she can iron out those errors, she could

:36:34.:36:39.

expect, hopefully, to wrap this up in straight sets.

:36:40.:36:59.

In the same way that the first set started, the second set starts with

:37:00.:37:03.

a double fault. Oh, what a pass! And what a point!

:37:04.:38:20.

This point turned around a couple of different times, but then Cornet had

:38:21.:38:24.

the advantage at the end but did not do enough with that backhand volley,

:38:25.:38:28.

a game, write to the forehand off Madison, the bigger weapon off the

:38:29.:38:29.

ground. -- again, the bigger weapon. At 0-30 on her serve as well, that

:38:30.:39:01.

killer forehand pass was important. So, she has levelled things up in

:39:02.:39:02.

this game. Yes... Some incredible angles there.

:39:03.:39:59.

Good movement from both players as well. Cornet, how she got that to

:40:00.:40:04.

curl around back in just over the net.

:40:05.:40:13.

So smart - Madison has started to use the body serve beautifully.

:40:14.:40:40.

Good second serve, really went after it.

:40:41.:41:09.

Is an important hold for Madison Keys. From 0-30, staving off a break

:41:10.:41:16.

as well. The first call-out in French in

:41:17.:41:39.

support of at least Cornet. -- Alize Cornet.

:41:40.:42:16.

That isn't a better serve from Cornet, one of the better ones we

:42:17.:42:43.

have seen in the match will stop she has to get that placement because

:42:44.:42:46.

she does not possess a lot of power. UMPIRE: Miss Cornet is challenging

:42:47.:43:09.

the call. The ball was called out. What does Hawkeye say? Yes. You

:43:10.:43:14.

don't need much. That is plenty. Wow! Sheep all that out of the bag,

:43:15.:44:15.

didn't she? What a different service game from Cornet. She will have to

:44:16.:44:18.

take some chances like that on her service games. -- sheep all that out

:44:19.:44:29.

of the bag. Hitting it to the corners, that is what she needs to

:44:30.:44:30.

do. This is more like some of the

:44:31.:45:54.

forehands and errors we saw in the opening set. No spin on that one, no

:45:55.:45:59.

need to go for it that big when she was behind the baseline.

:46:00.:46:05.

That is what you get in some of these Madison Keys matches - patches

:46:06.:46:13.

of brilliance mixed in with inconsistent patches. And that is

:46:14.:46:16.

something that has to change if she wants to make this next jump into

:46:17.:46:18.

the top five or six. Well, it is a pretty horrible way to

:46:19.:46:47.

be broken. Cornet moving ahead in the second set. Keys won the first,

:46:48.:47:02.

but Cornet leads to- one. -- Cornet leads numeric 2-1. What is it that

:47:03.:47:10.

she needs to do to improve? Is it putting the hours in? It is mental.

:47:11.:47:21.

These players, they hit thousands of shots. She knows that she needs more

:47:22.:47:25.

spin and more margin, but sometimes when you feel not as calm, you feel

:47:26.:47:31.

a little nervous, bad habits come in. And one of those for Madison is

:47:32.:47:38.

to go for the winner, to get the points too quickly. Part of what I

:47:39.:47:42.

was trying to do is, she is so fast in such a great athlete, she doesn't

:47:43.:47:47.

need to hit winners. She could cover the court and be defensive, which is

:47:48.:47:51.

not the style you would want to play, but there is no reason for her

:47:52.:47:55.

to panic and end points too quickly. It is something she is getting

:47:56.:48:02.

better rat, but still in certain situations, you can see that the

:48:03.:48:09.

thought crossed maybe -- that the thought process maybe isn't there.

:48:10.:48:10.

-- she is getting better at. The right idea, down the line. She

:48:11.:48:51.

had the whole court and just try to overplay. It will be interesting to

:48:52.:48:56.

see how Cornet now handles this. What a difference from the first set

:48:57.:49:05.

where she was at 50%, now she has at 86. What an improvement that is.

:49:06.:49:15.

Keys only getting half. 50%. Ever since that 5-2 lead, the play has

:49:16.:49:18.

been more even from the two of them. Wow! From that serve on the TV, a

:49:19.:49:39.

very good hold for our lease Cornet. -- for Alize Cornet. Cone they has

:49:40.:49:48.

to be more careful with her approach. She got away with that

:49:49.:49:52.

there. She has a nice lead in the second set.

:49:53.:50:28.

A nasty slip. Looks like she's OK. It's so hard to change direction on

:50:29.:50:45.

the grass. That wasn't too bad, I don't think.

:50:46.:50:57.

A quick service game from Madison Keys, but she is still a break down

:50:58.:51:03.

in the second set, after winning the first 6-4.

:51:04.:51:22.

SUE BARKER: We will be back with this match in a moment, but so much

:51:23.:51:28.

is happening, we will break away for a while to bring you the news that

:51:29.:51:32.

Andy Murray is safely through to the fourth round here at Wimbledon. He

:51:33.:51:38.

defeated John Millman on Centre Court, 6-3, 7-5, 6-2. So Andy Murray

:51:39.:51:44.

is through to face either Nick Kyrgios Feliciano Lopez, but that

:51:45.:51:48.

was very another impressive performance from Britain's number

:51:49.:51:51.

one, to the delight of the Centre Court crowd. Andy is through come

:51:52.:51:57.

about in this Championships, it has been full of shocks in the first

:51:58.:52:02.

week. Today, we had the biggest one of all. Sam Querrey, here serving at

:52:03.:52:06.

match point against the world number one, the man who holds all four

:52:07.:52:15.

grand slam titles, Novak Djokovic. And that means no Djokovic in the

:52:16.:52:22.

second week of Wimbledon. The last time he lost before the

:52:23.:52:26.

quarterfinals in a Grand Slam was back in 2009. He looked very

:52:27.:52:30.

listless in that match, and strangely out of sorts, but you

:52:31.:52:36.

cannot take any away -- anything away from this man. He was hitting

:52:37.:52:42.

big from the back of the court. The crowd certainly appreciated his

:52:43.:52:45.

performance, but everybody is wondering what is wrong with Novak

:52:46.:52:49.

Djokovic. Straight from the court, he walked into the press conference,

:52:50.:52:54.

and this is what he had to say. Congratulations to Sam. He played

:52:55.:53:00.

eight horrific match. He serves very well, and he usually does. I think

:53:01.:53:04.

that part of his game was brutal today. He made a lot of free points

:53:05.:53:12.

with the first serve. Well done, he just overpowered me. Word you 100%

:53:13.:53:18.

healthy? Not really, but it is not the place and time to talk about it.

:53:19.:53:26.

Again, the opponent was playing on a very high level and he deserved to

:53:27.:53:31.

win. I don't want to take anything out of victory for my opponent

:53:32.:53:35.

today. He played well and deserved to win. I had my chances, maybe in

:53:36.:53:41.

the fourth set, serving for the set in the tie-break I was leading, but

:53:42.:53:45.

I wasn't feeling the ball as well as I wished, but that is sport. How

:53:46.:53:51.

might this impact your decision about the Davis Cup? No, I am not

:53:52.:53:58.

going to play it. It is an amazing feeling to be able to hold four

:53:59.:54:04.

grand slam is at the same time. Coming into Wimbledon, obviously, I

:54:05.:54:10.

knew that mentally it would not be easy to read motivate myself -- to

:54:11.:54:17.

motivate myself again, but the importance of this tournament is so

:54:18.:54:21.

immense that you always find ways to get really inspired and prepare a

:54:22.:54:25.

rant try to give your best. Beasley, my best wasn't enough this year. We

:54:26.:54:33.

saw you -- obviously, my best. What would you thinking this morning? As

:54:34.:54:39.

I said, I don't want to talk about it. Please respect that. How do you

:54:40.:54:44.

think you will deal with this? How what is the best way to deal with --

:54:45.:54:50.

what is the best way to deal with the disappointment? I have a family

:54:51.:54:55.

and a life outside of tennis, so I have plenty to look forward to. I

:54:56.:55:02.

will pay more attention to those things than tennis in the next

:55:03.:55:06.

period, and I need that. It has been a very successful year so far, but a

:55:07.:55:10.

long and exhausting one in every sense. I just need some rest. SUE

:55:11.:55:17.

BARKER: Obviously, hugely disappointed and not wanting to talk

:55:18.:55:21.

about what was wrong with him. But Novak Djokovic is out of the

:55:22.:55:24.

tournament. On Court Number Two at the moment, the Eastbourne champion,

:55:25.:55:31.

Dominika Cibulkova, serving for the first set against Eugenie Borchard,

:55:32.:55:34.

who put out Johanna Konta in the last round. That is on the red

:55:35.:55:38.

button if you want to watch that. But we are heading back to Court

:55:39.:55:42.

Number One, where Alize Cornet has held serve, so she is 4-2 up. Let's

:55:43.:55:50.

rejoin Lindsay and Alison. Madison Keys, the ninth seed, with

:55:51.:55:52.

some work to do in this second set. These misfits, Lindsay Davenport,

:55:53.:56:13.

creeping in more than she would like. She is doing a better job of

:56:14.:56:18.

playing to her temple, not just reacting and playing defensively.

:56:19.:56:24.

Reading some of the key shots better, returning better, serving

:56:25.:56:27.

better, which has allowed her to be more aggressive off the ground.

:56:28.:57:12.

Cornet is reading that kick-serve better. Absolutely, and placing

:57:13.:57:18.

balls better in the court where she wants them to go. Having more time

:57:19.:57:22.

to do what she wants to do on the court.

:57:23.:57:30.

She like that! -- she will like that! Tremendous backhand. Alize

:57:31.:57:47.

gave Cornet -- Madison gave Cornet too much on that. Two break points.

:57:48.:58:05.

And there it is for Cornet. She goes a double break up in this second

:58:06.:58:14.

set. Keys won the first 6-4, but Cornet is right back and she will be

:58:15.:58:26.

serving for the second set. Quite the turnaround, isn't it, from the

:58:27.:58:31.

first set and the period where Keys won 14 points in a row, wrestle the

:58:32.:58:36.

momentum after race slow start, but Cornet is really now forcing Keys to

:58:37.:58:44.

play more to her rhythm and pace. That is not easy to do against

:58:45.:58:48.

Madison and her power, but there were periods in that first set where

:58:49.:58:52.

Keys was playing the type of tennis that can potentially win a grand

:58:53.:58:56.

slam title. Maybe here this year, maybe it takes a few years. Then the

:58:57.:59:03.

other level comes in, a level where there are a lot of unforced errors.

:59:04.:59:09.

She has to reset right here and right now. Cornet is a tough

:59:10.:59:13.

opponent, gets a lot of balls back into play. She has raised her level,

:59:14.:59:15.

and Madison has to do the same here. So, a big service game now for Alize

:59:16.:59:34.

Cornet. That is a better return, more

:59:35.:00:00.

aggressive. At the changeover, the team were encouraging Madison to

:00:01.:00:05.

step into the court and take some balls earlier. That was a better

:00:06.:00:07.

return there. That is a bit more of the attacking

:00:08.:00:29.

Keys instinct. This is the type of tennis that she wants to play on a

:00:30.:00:35.

grass court, and you want Madison to play - moving forward and looking to

:00:36.:00:38.

take balls early, play it on her terms, win or lose.

:00:39.:00:57.

She had a couple of chances where she could have finished off that

:00:58.:01:03.

point, but she earns herself free very valuable break back points.

:01:04.:01:13.

What the drop volley, between the baseline and service line.

:01:14.:01:20.

Brilliantly waited, brilliantly placed.

:01:21.:01:52.

Ooh, that's too good. Great job by Cornet to take control of this point

:01:53.:02:06.

and keep control of it. Perfectly placed folly.

:02:07.:02:18.

Someone's going to challenge. The ball was called in. She didn't

:02:19.:02:42.

hesitate, did she? On break point. It was called out and overruled in.

:02:43.:02:51.

That was on the line. That's a break for Keys, there. Well, is this the

:02:52.:02:56.

start of the fightback in the second set?

:02:57.:03:28.

Madison looks a little more calm right now than she did six or seven

:03:29.:03:34.

minutes ago when she was forcing the play a little bit, going for two big

:03:35.:03:36.

of shots. Settled back down here. That was pretty perfect. Has that

:03:37.:04:41.

nice rhythm on her serve again. Sometimes she tries to force things.

:04:42.:04:50.

When the toss and the body is in with it is very hard to read, very

:04:51.:04:51.

hard to return. -- is in rhythm. Although that was a pretty good

:04:52.:05:00.

return of serve. Important hold keeps her in this

:05:01.:05:22.

second set. Cornet has played a couple of top

:05:23.:05:35.

ten players this year and lost twice. Came up against Victoria

:05:36.:05:39.

Azarenka in the Jade and Radwanska in Miami. This would be a big win

:05:40.:05:48.

for her if she can take Keys into a decider, if she can win through into

:05:49.:05:53.

the last extreme. A player of Madison Keys' quality. She has been

:05:54.:05:58.

in the last extreme of Wimbledon before, back in 2014, and she even

:05:59.:06:07.

beat Serena Williams along the way. At this stage. Before losing out to

:06:08.:06:09.

Jeannie Bouchard. Still a few empty seats. Some people

:06:10.:06:23.

wanting to get up and walk around to recover from the shock defeat of

:06:24.:06:26.

Novak Djokovic on this very court which was the match that kept Cornet

:06:27.:06:32.

and Keys waiting today. Four disruptions for rain during the

:06:33.:06:37.

conclusion of that match as well. Thankfully no disruptions so far but

:06:38.:06:41.

Cornet, at 5-4, coming out to serve for the second set.

:06:42.:07:12.

Once again the momentum has completely shifted in this match. At

:07:13.:07:18.

one point Cornet was dictating play, going after her serve. If you spin

:07:19.:07:29.

your first serve in at 89 mph, doesn't really show a whole lot of

:07:30.:07:40.

confidence. Certainly under a bit of pressure now.

:07:41.:08:09.

What a game. From 5-2, Madison Keys has pulled it back. Level at 5-5 in

:08:10.:08:31.

this second set. There's always a few ups and downs

:08:32.:09:02.

in all of the Keys matches. Bit of a roller-coaster ride. Yes. Almost

:09:03.:09:07.

everyone at some point. One of the things she is doing better is

:09:08.:09:11.

resetting faster. A lot of times we setting before it's too late. --

:09:12.:09:16.

resetting before it's too late. Pulled Cornet outside the court and

:09:17.:10:15.

was able to angle this ever so slightly out of the reach of Cornet.

:10:16.:10:50.

Lovely. Doesn't get much better than that. Took her time with this

:10:51.:11:03.

running forehand. Got it over the net. Such a great, powerful shot.

:11:04.:11:14.

Ooh. Bang on that service line. Game

:11:15.:11:37.

point again for 6-5. Errors creeping back in. Not a lot

:11:38.:12:38.

of margin on those backhands. Good idea to take some time and regroup

:12:39.:12:49.

here if you are Madison. What a great serve to come up with facing

:12:50.:13:00.

break point. So well placed. She is next in enough up the tea and out

:13:01.:13:06.

wide that Cornet isn't quite sure where she's going.

:13:07.:13:33.

Second break point, such an important time, business end of the

:13:34.:13:38.

second set, Cornet desperate to take this match to a deciding set.

:13:39.:14:11.

The break coming up such a crucial time. Really gave it that breakaway,

:14:12.:14:23.

too. Cornet made some more shots on the court but a number of backhand

:14:24.:14:28.

errors, not a lot of margin. Cornet is a fighter. Back to 5-5 and she is

:14:29.:14:37.

still a feisty competitor. That's really one of her best attributes.

:14:38.:14:44.

She doesn't go in for bottling up her emotions, does she? Or her

:14:45.:14:52.

feelings. Cheerful news on the big screen, victory for Andy Murray. And

:14:53.:14:57.

this is the match this crowd witnessed. That's also a cheer for

:14:58.:15:01.

Andy Murray, the crowd realising with Novak out of this tournament,

:15:02.:15:05.

much better chance for Andy Murray to perhaps when the second Wimbledon

:15:06.:15:10.

title. Is he your favourite now in the men's? I think he has to be,

:15:11.:15:14.

doesn't he? Take Djokovic out of the equation. I think Federer is

:15:15.:15:25.

probably pretty happy, too. This Court has seen some seeds fall

:15:26.:15:30.

during this tournament so far. Not quite sure what that conversation

:15:31.:15:35.

was about. Think it was about her slamming the racket into the grass.

:15:36.:15:40.

So that's a slap on the wrist. They are pretty protective of their

:15:41.:15:46.

courts, here. Cornet at 6-5, serving to take us into a decider.

:15:47.:16:16.

So well constructed by Cornet. That's what it takes, sometimes.

:16:17.:16:22.

Sometimes you have to hit nine or ten ground strokes before you can

:16:23.:16:27.

win the point. Great patients from Keys, not always a strong suit of

:16:28.:16:29.

hers. -- great patience. And the pressure swings back onto

:16:30.:17:27.

Cornet. Cornet went after that serve more.

:17:28.:17:52.

Looked pretty far inside the line. Yes, it was well in. Didn't touch

:17:53.:17:55.

the line. Cornet burns herself -- earns

:17:56.:18:27.

herself a set point. And she's done it. Taking Madison

:18:28.:19:01.

Keys into a deciding set. Cornet fighting back, taking the second set

:19:02.:19:06.

7-5. Match on and we'll be back on Court Number One in a little time,

:19:07.:19:10.

because we are going to take you through the main news stories of the

:19:11.:19:14.

day. Good news for Britain's number one Andy Murray is that he is

:19:15.:19:18.

through in straight sets. Another straight sets victory, yet to drop a

:19:19.:19:21.

set at the tournament and that will please his coaches Ivan Lendl and

:19:22.:19:24.

Jayme Doll garden. John Millman making his Wimbledon

:19:25.:19:34.

Centre Court debut. It was a wonderful match to watch with the

:19:35.:19:38.

Centre Court crowd thoroughly enjoying it and thoroughly enjoying

:19:39.:19:41.

Murray's performance particularly. He goes through to the fourth round

:19:42.:19:45.

in the second week of Wimbledon. But Novak Djokovic will not be there,

:19:46.:19:49.

that is the big shop here today. We've lost so many seeds throughout

:19:50.:19:53.

the tournament but this is not just a shock for Wimbledon, it is a shock

:19:54.:19:58.

for the world of tennis. The man that had looked unbeatable in the

:19:59.:20:02.

Grand Slams is put out in the third round by this big serving American,

:20:03.:20:09.

a barrage of aces, 31 in total, and some big hitting. Djokovic did not

:20:10.:20:13.

look himself, looked a little listless. He did not want to give

:20:14.:20:18.

anything away in the press conference, said he did not want to

:20:19.:20:22.

talk about it. But you can't take anything away from Sam Querrey, he

:20:23.:20:27.

played the match of his life. Once he was safely through, the 28th

:20:28.:20:33.

seed, this marathon out on court 12, sufferers has won 12-10 in the third

:20:34.:20:36.

set. The Lucie Safarova goes through. But

:20:37.:20:52.

what about or in the third. And generous love to read

:20:53.:20:57.

Sabine Lisicki is out. Yaroslava Shvedova will play suffer Lucie

:20:58.:21:10.

Safarova in the next round. No problems for burn atomic. The 19th

:21:11.:21:23.

seed has put out Roberto Bautista Agut. And he goes through to face

:21:24.:21:31.

either Lucas Pouille or Juan Martin Del Potro. So that is the story is,

:21:32.:21:38.

there, but this is a story brewing out on court, doubles match

:21:39.:21:42.

involving Nicholas are talking to these umpire. They are playing live

:21:43.:21:49.

Hewitt and Jordan Thompson. There is a spectator in the crowd talking to

:21:50.:21:53.

him, to him, intimidating him, putting him off. Late in Hewitt

:21:54.:21:58.

starts to get involved. This has been bubbling under for a few games.

:21:59.:22:03.

Now wow really not happy, asking for the spectator to be removed.

:22:04.:22:07.

The umpire makes a call and just a few moments later... There she is,

:22:08.:22:24.

she is being removed from the court. Almagro has his way. And it is a bit

:22:25.:22:30.

testy out on that court, a tough one. 14-14. It is only best-of-3.

:22:31.:22:36.

The spectator is asked to leave the court. And they play on, currently

:22:37.:22:42.

14-14. The Eastbourne champion is going well. Up against Jimmy

:22:43.:22:50.

Bouchard, who played so well on Centre Court putting out Britain's

:22:51.:22:51.

Konta. So that's what's been happening

:22:52.:23:01.

today, another very busy day and a day of shocks, but let's go back to

:23:02.:23:06.

Court One. We missed just one game. Madison Keys held serve.

:23:07.:23:13.

COMMENTATOR: Madison Keys held her opening service game to love in this

:23:14.:23:20.

deciding set. She started slowly for each of her service game the first

:23:21.:23:24.

two sets. Preferred to get that game on the board. Madison got broken

:23:25.:23:28.

three times in the second set. This is a big game for both players.

:23:29.:24:01.

Keys has good momentum, winning six points. Cornet does not want to give

:24:02.:24:11.

Keys any reason to feel comfortable in this second -- deciding set,

:24:12.:24:17.

especially early on. Not the first time Cornet has

:24:18.:24:29.

slipped on the grass, here. Looks as if this one has hurt her more than

:24:30.:24:36.

the last. Landing heavily on the right hip.

:24:37.:24:55.

Couple of break points, then. Bit more self talk going on at the far

:24:56.:25:31.

end of the court from Cornet. Madison again not in control of any

:25:32.:25:32.

of these points. And a great start in this third set

:25:33.:25:57.

for Keys. She needed that, going up a break early.

:25:58.:26:08.

Yeah, I think that fall has certainly done a little bit of

:26:09.:26:12.

mischief. During that second set, her second

:26:13.:26:39.

serve did not as well as it did in the first. A huge factor. Those

:26:40.:26:50.

first serves doing OK if she can keep dishing them up like that. Got

:26:51.:26:54.

to get out of the habit of just making her second serve in the

:26:55.:26:55.

court. A lovely drop shot from Cornet. Keys

:26:56.:27:25.

doing an excellent job of getting to the drop shot. The anticipation but

:27:26.:27:29.

just couldn't quite reach that last volley. I like the play from Cornet,

:27:30.:27:34.

the drop shot, following it in. Is Cornet isn't careful, this set

:27:35.:27:53.

could run away from her quite quickly.

:27:54.:28:07.

Again another beautiful first serve. Found that location up the T.

:28:08.:28:36.

And then the server out wide, served her well. That helps so much on

:28:37.:28:43.

grass when you are a little tense, having a hard time winning baseline

:28:44.:28:47.

rallies, the ability to get free points on your serve. Not a lot of

:28:48.:28:51.

players on the women's tour have that ability.

:28:52.:29:04.

There was not a lot of power on the forehand from keys.

:29:05.:29:26.

Keys really picking on the Cornet forehand now. Almost every serve

:29:27.:29:33.

going that way in this game now. That's how important that hold is.

:29:34.:29:49.

Races into a 3-0 lead in the decider.

:29:50.:30:01.

We talked about the seesaw nature of the match. And of Madison Keys'

:30:02.:30:11.

encounters. 15 errors from Keys. There were not many winners coming

:30:12.:30:17.

off the racket of Cornet. No, Cornet had one unforced error in that

:30:18.:30:22.

second set. But again, Keys has reset in this third set. Started to

:30:23.:30:29.

play more to her tempo, better serving and when she's playing

:30:30.:30:32.

Herbin there's very little Cornet can do to stay with her but when the

:30:33.:30:36.

unforced errors start to come, hesitation when she is trying to

:30:37.:30:40.

make balls, that's when Cornet is able to win more games. Start to

:30:41.:30:44.

play her style of tennis. She cuts a pretty relaxed figure on

:30:45.:31:00.

court. In comparison to Cornet, who is more animated than many of the

:31:01.:31:05.

women on the tour. Cornet has that ability sometimes to rile the

:31:06.:31:10.

opposition if they allow her to get into their head.

:31:11.:31:17.

You can see dramatics and theatrical reaction from the other side of the

:31:18.:31:22.

court, but it makes for extra good watching for the spectators, for

:31:23.:31:28.

sure, to see a player fired up. She's three behind in this final

:31:29.:31:30.

set. This is a great opportunity for

:31:31.:31:46.

Madison to swing out. She has a nice lead, doesn't want to start playing

:31:47.:31:51.

conservatively now. Play aggressively, big targets, still

:31:52.:31:52.

keeps swinging out. A spot of bother now, Cornet. Still

:31:53.:32:24.

not much warmth in that son, is that? -- in that sun, is there?

:32:25.:32:43.

Well, when it is hit back at your toes like that, you can't do much

:32:44.:32:50.

with it. That should be her target, location, 460-70% of her returns,

:32:51.:32:54.

especially on this surface, when she gets hit at it. The server has very

:32:55.:33:02.

little time to recover and play the next shot.

:33:03.:33:19.

A fitting return of serve to get the break. -- a fizzing.

:33:20.:33:39.

You had the feeling this set could go away from Cornet rapidly, but not

:33:40.:33:43.

this rapidly. Those first two games of the third

:33:44.:33:54.

set were huge. Once Madison was able to hold and get that first break,

:33:55.:33:59.

she relaxed. And she plays her best tennis when she is relaxed and has a

:34:00.:34:01.

bit of a lead. Cornet needed to put some scoreboard

:34:02.:34:18.

pressure on Keys, especially early in this final set.

:34:19.:34:54.

What is she like in the locker room before matches, Madison? She is

:34:55.:35:05.

friendly in the locker room. All of these players, I feel, they feel the

:35:06.:35:10.

pressure and the nerves. Some try to deny it, some you can see it. There

:35:11.:35:16.

is no question, pretty intense, Madison, especially at the slams.

:35:17.:35:25.

Her focus improved tremendously. -- improves.

:35:26.:35:34.

What an angle! After the net cord as well. Yellow might that is too good

:35:35.:35:44.

from Cornet. Madison getting a little unlucky with that forehand

:35:45.:35:45.

there, but excellent feel. Excellent job handling that backhand

:35:46.:36:04.

there. That was a good return from Cornet. A chance to hold for 5-0,

:36:05.:36:10.

then, in this decider. Going for that big winner again.

:36:11.:36:43.

Cornet made an excellent return. That was a good serve, and Cornet

:36:44.:36:47.

managed to get her return back on the baseline.

:36:48.:37:22.

Well played, Cornet. A perfect drop shot. Again, we have seen this play

:37:23.:37:35.

a number of times for Cornet. Once again, pulling out the big

:37:36.:37:47.

first serve when she is facing break point. She is faking really well

:37:48.:37:54.

with her toss. She has gone up the tea so much, she had some space out

:37:55.:37:58.

why. -- up the T. A second chance for Cornet. The

:37:59.:38:44.

noise from Cornet seems to be getting louder as we get towards the

:38:45.:38:46.

business end of this match. A great serve again. We saw her kick

:38:47.:39:10.

the last serve out wide. There, flattening it out, 100 and the live

:39:11.:39:14.

and in miles per hour. It is tough to defend when a player can hit all

:39:15.:39:17.

the servers. -- 111 mph. It is turning into a real struggle

:39:18.:39:41.

to hold this service game. She has got one of those two breaks

:39:42.:40:11.

back. That is fantastic fighting from Cornet. Keys with a couple of

:40:12.:40:17.

points to go up 5-0 in this final set, and Cornet found in nicely. --

:40:18.:40:30.

Cornet hung in nicely. I wonder how upset Keys will be by the fact that

:40:31.:40:36.

she was fine. Players have short memories with stuff like that,

:40:37.:40:39.

especially something as big as closing matches, closing sets out.

:40:40.:40:50.

That was a Kees second round match against Kirsten Flippin 's. -- Keys.

:40:51.:41:07.

We are into the evening. It is crazy for a second match. We played one

:41:08.:41:16.

hour and three quarters out on court, that is the longest either of

:41:17.:41:21.

these two players have been on court bus far, coming through rounds one

:41:22.:41:27.

and two. Cornet hadn't dropped a set before she encountered Madison Keys.

:41:28.:41:40.

So, Cornet is 4-1 down in this decider.

:41:41.:42:46.

She has got a great serve - right on the line, turning away. One of the

:42:47.:42:56.

best service games Cornet has played in a while. You can bet your bottom

:42:57.:43:00.

dollar that... There is not much that gets by the

:43:01.:43:12.

players in the locker room. Whether it is a shot breaking down, having

:43:13.:43:20.

trouble closing out leads. All of the players have a pretty good

:43:21.:43:22.

handle on -- a pretty good handle on the

:43:23.:43:31.

opposition. Back-to-back games for Alize Cornet.

:43:32.:43:58.

She is wrestling back -- she is wrestling back a bit of this

:43:59.:44:04.

momentum. Keys is still a break up. In her bid to reach the last 16.

:44:05.:44:09.

Simona Halep awaits there, the fifth seed. She looked very good today.

:44:10.:44:16.

She is very confident in this tournament.

:44:17.:44:33.

Oh! Great court coverage, and what a finish. An excellent debt here from

:44:34.:44:45.

Cornet. A tactical error from Cornet. She did not put that volley

:44:46.:44:50.

away and went to one of the best shots in the Keys game.

:44:51.:45:05.

That was a risky overhead, but that first point totally changed the

:45:06.:45:34.

momentum again in this match, and Keys now very confident.

:45:35.:46:08.

The hold of serve puts Keys in a commanding position in the deciding

:46:09.:46:21.

set. Finally, closing in on the line. But how much fight is left in

:46:22.:46:27.

Alize Cornet? That first point of the last game was huge. Cornet had

:46:28.:46:33.

some amends, winning two games in a row. A different story if you're

:46:34.:46:38.

serving 0-15, then hitting a great winner and feeling great about your

:46:39.:46:42.

game again, which Keys was able to do with that first point. Hopefully

:46:43.:46:54.

set for a fine rest of the evening here at Wimbledon. Still perhaps

:46:55.:47:01.

just stretching out where she fell awkwardly on that hip. The screen we

:47:02.:47:12.

heard from her showed how she is frustrated with herself at the

:47:13.:47:16.

moment. She has not really been in this third set, not challenging Keys

:47:17.:47:24.

Ina, having taken it to a decider. -- not challenging Keys Ina. -- Keys

:47:25.:47:31.

enough. Smart play by Cornet, more

:47:32.:48:55.

consistent. She is putting pressure on Keys to try and service match

:48:56.:48:56.

out. -- serve this match out. That was a

:48:57.:49:14.

great shot from out wide, and a better return.

:49:15.:49:27.

That is a fantastic luck, isn't it? Keeping warm in the cold and keeping

:49:28.:49:33.

your eyes in the shade. A struggle for Cornet to close out

:49:34.:50:00.

this service game, giving Keys a sniff.

:50:01.:50:15.

Great down the line. Maybe she won't have to service match out. One of

:50:16.:50:30.

the best point Keys has played. Perfect backhand up the line, great

:50:31.:50:32.

technique. She went for it again, the drop shot

:50:33.:51:22.

that had served her so well. That is just a panic shot. She knew. As soon

:51:23.:51:27.

as the ball left the racket face. That is the pummelling forehand, and

:51:28.:52:04.

that is the first match point for the ninth seed.

:52:05.:52:38.

That will do it! And last year's quarterfinalist is back into the

:52:39.:52:52.

last 16. Taken to a decider, an up and down sort of match in many ways,

:52:53.:52:57.

but Madison Keys, the ninth seed, winning in three. That was huge.

:52:58.:53:06.

Breaking to win the match. Cornet was serving that last game for the-

:53:07.:53:10.

zero, and that is the way to close out a match. If there were any

:53:11.:53:13.

lingering doubts from the match before, they were put to rest there.

:53:14.:53:18.

Up and down, but there were some moments of brilliance from Keys. And

:53:19.:53:24.

she is so excited about this win, and into the second week again. A

:53:25.:53:33.

big smile on her face when she went into the centre of the court to

:53:34.:53:46.

acknowledge the crowd. You feel those big moments that you saw

:53:47.:53:50.

there, Lindsey, bode well for next week. The job doesn't get any easier

:53:51.:53:56.

for Madison. Next up is Simona Halep, who has looked very

:53:57.:54:03.

comfortable most of this week. First you focus on getting to the second

:54:04.:54:06.

week, then you focus on the matches. She played well in the first week.

:54:07.:54:13.

So, Madison Keys is through in three, breaking serve to close out

:54:14.:54:19.

the final set, to win 86-3. It is the end of Wimbledon for Alize

:54:20.:54:24.

Cornet, and Madison Keys is through, winning in sets, 6-4, 5-7 and 6-2 in

:54:25.:54:28.

the decider. Madison, huge congratulations. A few

:54:29.:54:38.

hairy moments in the second set, how easy was it to focus ahead of the

:54:39.:54:43.

third? It wasn't easy but I knew she would play good tennis. I knew I

:54:44.:54:48.

needed to fix some things and maybe be a bit more aggressive. What was

:54:49.:54:53.

amazing was in the third set, as things got tough, you kept your

:54:54.:54:57.

focus and momentum, you seemed to do the footwork and movement was good.

:54:58.:55:01.

How much as the fitness work that you have done been helpful? It is a

:55:02.:55:09.

huge help knowing I can stay out there as long as I need to, but also

:55:10.:55:12.

knowing how much work I have done on my movement makes me more confident.

:55:13.:55:20.

You got into the quarterfinals last year, into the last 16 now, how

:55:21.:55:25.

confident are you? I think I have played more matches this year. I

:55:26.:55:30.

have been more consistent in the last couple of months. It is another

:55:31.:55:34.

tournament, so I am definitely looking forward to my next match. A

:55:35.:55:39.

quick word about that, against Simona Halep. It is a couple of

:55:40.:55:43.

years since you last met. I honestly don't know where it was that the

:55:44.:55:48.

last played. I know I played her one time. It will be a tough match and I

:55:49.:55:52.

am looking forward to it. Many congratulations. Thank you. SUE

:55:53.:55:58.

BARKER: Well done indeed. She has just broken into the world's top ten

:55:59.:56:03.

recently, and now there are three Americans in the top ten. Serena

:56:04.:56:11.

Williams is there. Madison Keys is through. In three sets. A real

:56:12.:56:21.

research is an American tennis with Serena and Venus Williams and

:56:22.:56:25.

Madison Keys at the top of the game. She is through in three sets. This

:56:26.:56:34.

is a player inform, common offer Eastbourne victory, improving that

:56:35.:56:40.

impressive form to win in straight sets, defeating Eugenie Bush are.

:56:41.:56:45.

She was in awesome form when she beat Johanna Konta and we thought

:56:46.:56:48.

she might go forward, but she is really a gutsy performer, Cibulkova.

:56:49.:56:55.

That's what it means her to be into the second week of Wimbledon. The

:56:56.:56:59.

19th seed is through. And David Goffin of Belgium, the 11 seed, also

:57:00.:57:04.

through, defeating Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan. He will go through to

:57:05.:57:12.

face either Milos Raonic or Jack Sock, who are on court at the

:57:13.:57:20.

moment. Over at court nine, we saw this rather testy doubles match

:57:21.:57:26.

between Lake and Hewitt. They are on match point. They broke in the last

:57:27.:57:31.

game and they have been on court for three hours and 57 minutes. It is

:57:32.:57:42.

18-17 in the last set. So, let's just see if Leighton can serve it

:57:43.:57:57.

out. They were given a wildcard after the Australian Open. He

:57:58.:58:00.

thought he fancied playing at Wimbledon so he went in the doubles.

:58:01.:58:02.

Here he is at match point. Oh, no! Leighton will be joining our

:58:03.:58:22.

commentary team next week, that is if he... Unless he stays in the

:58:23.:58:28.

doubles. Let's wait and see. The score is wrong, because it has gone

:58:29.:58:32.

back to deuce. We will stay and see if Leighton can serve it out.

:58:33.:58:40.

Here comes another. He is such a popular player. Look at the crowd.

:58:41.:58:48.

They have been thoroughly enjoying this. The doubles matches were

:58:49.:58:55.

reduced from five sets to three. Who would have thought he would be on

:58:56.:59:00.

court for four hours? Here he is, 18-17, and a chance to close it out

:59:01.:59:02.

yet again. And so they have done it. The crowd

:59:03.:59:34.

rises. This is one of these lately meaning -- late evening doubles

:59:35.:59:38.

matches. Let's see what the handshake is like. They had a bit of

:59:39.:59:42.

trouble earlier in the match, but that look very friendly as well. It

:59:43.:59:45.

is Hewitt and Thomson who go through, 19 hi 3-mac-17 in the third

:59:46.:59:53.

set of top four hours they play, but four hours of great entertainment

:59:54.:59:57.

for everybody out on court nine. Lovely to see late in back on. You

:59:58.:00:02.

see, he can never really retire. He just loves coming back, a great

:00:03.:00:06.

competitor, and he will have thoroughly enjoyed that victory. I'm

:00:07.:00:10.

not sure how people feel tomorrow, though. From one Grand Slam

:00:11.:00:14.

champion, we moved to another, Juan Martin del Potro. He put out Stan

:00:15.:00:19.

Wawrinka in the last round and he looks like he will put out another

:00:20.:00:23.

seed in this round as well. That matches online on the BBC

:00:24.:00:29.

application or Connected Tv. Those are the ways you can watch that

:00:30.:00:33.

matter. -- watch that match. What a day it has been - big shocks, great

:00:34.:00:40.

tennis, and Claire will have all the details at 8:30pm, when we will be

:00:41.:00:46.

discussing Andy Murray, no Novak Djokovic and Petra Kvitova. So much

:00:47.:00:49.

has been happening today. Because of the rain this week, we will have

:00:50.:00:55.

Sunday matches as well. We will be here tomorrow.

:00:56.:01:06.

10,000 people have got their tickets online today. Now we are heading to

:01:07.:01:18.

Centre Court. And we're going to see Milos Raonic 7-6, 4-3 he leads,

:01:19.:01:25.

which will certainly please somebody in our commentary box. John McEnroe.

:01:26.:01:34.

COMMENTATOR: On this dramatic day at Wimbledon, we have a gaping hole in

:01:35.:01:42.

this top section of the draw, shaped like Novak. You just wonder whether

:01:43.:01:47.

Milos Raonic is now perfectly positioned to take advantage. Set

:01:48.:01:52.

and a break to the good against Jack Sock. Absolutely, tremendous

:01:53.:01:56.

opportunity, so do any of the top players. Roger Federer who would

:01:57.:02:00.

have won a slam last year had it not been for Djokovic, suddenly he is

:02:01.:02:07.

believing again. Nishikori. Suddenly they are believing. This car is in

:02:08.:02:12.

that corner of the draw. David Goffin, to his credit, the male

:02:13.:02:18.

version of Agnieszka Radwanska, who takes place so well. Sock had no

:02:19.:02:32.

looks whatsoever. You have come at a good time because Raonic finally had

:02:33.:02:39.

a chance to break, played a strong game. Seems to be psychologically

:02:40.:02:46.

seeping some negativity into Sock's head just having to deal with this.

:02:47.:02:51.

Hasn't got any chance of rhythm, able to be offensive. Raonic

:02:52.:03:03.

handling that ball well. Hitting his serve is extremely hard. He's been

:03:04.:03:07.

up to 140 in this match. He's also mixing things up. Nicely done,

:03:08.:03:16.

there. Sock, to me, almost seems like he's got to guess. I would

:03:17.:03:21.

never encourage that as a coach or as a fan or a friend but right now,

:03:22.:03:25.

it doesn't seem to be going his way. That's the shop that will get back

:03:26.:03:43.

in the match, that forehand. Average speed second serve right now, for

:03:44.:03:51.

the match, average speed first serve 126, average speed second serve 124!

:03:52.:03:55.

That is ridiculous. I think they should tighten up the

:03:56.:04:11.

challenge rules because Sock waits to see, he is not the only one, they

:04:12.:04:15.

all do it. I would do the same thing if I could get away with it.

:04:16.:04:19.

Obviously didn't matter, but he waits to see the return is out and

:04:20.:04:25.

then challenges. Guys like Raonic, the other game, looks up to his box

:04:26.:04:28.

and then challenges. Shouldn't allow that either. Time has ticked by as

:04:29.:04:34.

players do that. It should be, if you look up, over. They would need

:04:35.:04:42.

to develop some secret codes, scratching your nose or something.

:04:43.:04:45.

According to my wife I do that too often anyway. Now Raonic

:04:46.:04:53.

challenging. We talked about the pace of second serve. That would be

:04:54.:04:59.

his second double. He's not exactly holding back. Carlos Moya.

:05:00.:05:11.

Sock, all of a sudden he's got a chance.

:05:12.:05:28.

We had to wait an hour and three minutes and 18 games plus a

:05:29.:05:36.

tie-break before we even got our first break point in this match and

:05:37.:05:41.

that was in the last game. But now immediately a chance for Sock to hit

:05:42.:05:43.

back. Makes a good volley. Tentative

:05:44.:06:19.

return by Sock. First of all he just wants to get it in. He was praying

:06:20.:06:23.

that ball would drop a little lower to Raonic. The kick is wicked, even

:06:24.:06:29.

on grass, that was up above his shoulder. That was a pretty good

:06:30.:06:40.

look for Sock, there. Matter of fact, you may not get a better one.

:06:41.:07:10.

Saving a break point in that game. He won that break point at the net,

:07:11.:07:19.

the next two points he was on his way into the net, must be pleased.

:07:20.:07:25.

Very pleased. Extremely intimidating moving forward. We talked a bit

:07:26.:07:30.

already about his skills. I think he's got skills. He's a good volley.

:07:31.:07:36.

Good touch. Like Steve 's drop volley when he can. That was solid

:07:37.:07:43.

-- he likes to use the drop volley, when he can.

:07:44.:07:49.

If you serve that big, why in the world are you sitting back there?

:07:50.:07:57.

Obviously discouraging to Sock, he had that good a look. He is bumming

:07:58.:08:07.

right now, big-time. More indication of his talent, been on the rise for

:08:08.:08:15.

the last few days. Once seen as the future of American tennis, that old

:08:16.:08:20.

tag. Only 23, though. Look at the forehand. Incredible. More width

:08:21.:08:31.

than Nadal. More top-spin than any single player. He plays like a

:08:32.:08:36.

Spanish guy. Wicked spin. And he's more comfortable on clay. Best

:08:37.:08:39.

results have been on clay. The back and has been a liability

:08:40.:08:57.

for Sock. It has improved, but still questionable at times. Especially

:08:58.:09:02.

when he feels the need to go big on it. To me he prefers the slice. Jack

:09:03.:09:10.

Sock's coach for the last couple of years.

:09:11.:09:26.

Got the sweet hands, too, Sock. I noticed that years ago when I played

:09:27.:09:35.

a couple of exhibitions with him in the states. This guy could use this

:09:36.:09:38.

to his advantage. Jack Sock has beaten two decent

:09:39.:10:01.

talents including Ernests Gulbis. Raonic will serve for the second set

:10:02.:10:17.

at 5-4. Sock, couple of years ago, won the doubles here. The belief

:10:18.:10:26.

that that helped him to a great extent, believe he could have great

:10:27.:10:30.

success here in the singles. Understanding the strategies

:10:31.:10:34.

involved, the nuances of the game. I was surprised when I was over at

:10:35.:10:44.

Queen's with my Milos and Sock had quote unquote forgotten to enter

:10:45.:10:48.

Queen's. He's not had much success in the past on the surface. However,

:10:49.:10:51.

you can see that he's got significant ability. Able to do a

:10:52.:10:56.

lot of different things. He has played no match coming into

:10:57.:11:00.

Wimbledon. For him he's at his best ever, never been in the second week

:11:01.:11:06.

of Wimbledon. The sky, Milos Raonic, has only one time, seemingly hard to

:11:07.:11:13.

believe, he hurt his hip and ended up having surgery which set him

:11:14.:11:18.

back. Look at this guy's overall game and serve and amazed he has

:11:19.:11:19.

only been in the second week once. Not sure I would choose to come in

:11:20.:11:36.

on his forehand, first point of the game. I'm sure he would just work it

:11:37.:11:44.

to the backhand of Sock. There he went back and surprised

:11:45.:12:20.

Sock. A gutsy move. After Sock had ripped that forehand last point, you

:12:21.:12:22.

know he's thinking, here comes the backhand.

:12:23.:12:44.

Ooh, wonderful pass from Sock on what was my loss rounded's fastest

:12:45.:12:52.

serve of the tournament. Great credit to Sock to hit the return and

:12:53.:12:58.

then the past. No doubt. Can I conceivably say that was the tough

:12:59.:13:02.

of the two shots, when you are returning a 143 mph serve? Beautiful

:13:03.:13:06.

flick of the risk. The serve has dropped off slightly

:13:07.:13:21.

in this set. Still at about three quarters of his first serves going

:13:22.:13:22.

in. Jack Sock is unleashing his

:13:23.:14:04.

repertoire here. It's great to watch. Forced my loss rounded to hit

:14:05.:14:13.

up and used that forehand, which is pretty lethal -- forced Raonic to

:14:14.:14:20.

hit up. So lethal. Incredibly he has another chance to break here, two

:14:21.:14:31.

games in a row. That was a smart play by Raonic. Got to zero in on

:14:32.:14:38.

opponents weakness. Especially at this critical point.

:14:39.:15:01.

Exactly what happened in the previous Raonic service game, facing

:15:02.:15:07.

a break point, he saved it and Sock didn't get another look in.

:15:08.:15:12.

Raonic brings a set point. Say goodbye to that serve. 7-6, 6-4, two

:15:13.:15:26.

sets to love. STUDIO: To setup and I am still

:15:27.:15:47.

trying to recover from Mac's comment "Darn that Sock". We are going to

:15:48.:15:55.

Court One where Feliciano Lopez, he was a break of serve up but it is

:15:56.:15:58.

now back on serve against Nick Dougherty us. Judy Murray tweeted a

:15:59.:16:07.

few years ago about him being "Deliciano". I wonder whether you

:16:08.:16:11.

agree? Many do in our production office. Over here Jo-Wilfried

:16:12.:16:16.

Tsonga, everybody loves to watch him playing, 4-3 up against the big

:16:17.:16:20.

serving American John Isner. That is available to watch online. Simile

:16:21.:16:25.

big names out in action at the moment late in the evening.

:16:26.:16:30.

Radwanska starting up, she is 3-2 up. All of these matches available

:16:31.:16:37.

online on the website, the BBC sport at and connected TVs. Take your pick

:16:38.:16:43.

of who you would like to see. The former finalist 3-2 up in that match

:16:44.:16:51.

on Court three. Lovely to see Juan Martin Del Potro back and playing

:16:52.:16:54.

what looks like his best tennis again, putting out Stan Wawrinka in

:16:55.:17:00.

his first match. Now he is a set and 5-4 up against Lucas Pouille rule of

:17:01.:17:07.

France. I don't think Richard Gasquet will be loving what's

:17:08.:17:10.

happening out here on Court 18. He dropped the opening set 6-2. He's

:17:11.:17:15.

had the train on court. Now serving for a 4-3 lead in the second. Last

:17:16.:17:21.

year 's semifinalist with work to do out on Court 18. So still the crowds

:17:22.:17:26.

here at Wimbledon and of course remember we will be back here

:17:27.:17:30.

tomorrow for people Sunday as well. We'll be on the air from 11:15am and

:17:31.:17:35.

there's bound to be a wonderful atmosphere here at the championship.

:17:36.:17:40.

So, back we go, and back we go to John and Jonathan.

:17:41.:18:15.

Sock has gone big pretty often on that second serve to try to keep

:18:16.:18:25.

Raonic at bay. Discouraging for Sock.

:18:26.:18:37.

Raonic with the really excellent approach shot, staying very low on

:18:38.:18:45.

Sock. He had a hard time even with the spin that he loves to employ to

:18:46.:18:50.

get it down low. Trying to get it at his feet, just couldn't do it. Cut

:18:51.:18:57.

it off nicely. These guys at least know they are going to finish to

:18:58.:19:03.

night. Stress still happening on the outside courts with some of those

:19:04.:19:04.

third-round matches. All on nothing here for Sock who

:19:05.:19:44.

firmly believes it was out, because he's switching sides. Let's see if

:19:45.:19:55.

he's right because if he isn't its deuce. He is wrong. He rolled the

:19:56.:20:05.

dice. They used titanium pigment now. I have a little experience with

:20:06.:20:10.

chalk flying up. Apparently it doesn't happen that often.

:20:11.:20:31.

That's a spectacular play by Raonic, utilising the slice to the forehand

:20:32.:20:38.

side, surprising him. Looked to be deliberately shorter, here. Really

:20:39.:20:47.

made life difficult for Sock. If he was to lose this point he's going to

:20:48.:20:50.

be severely bumped. Probably the best serve his hit.

:20:51.:21:05.

Definitely some type of chalk flew up. The only issue is whether it was

:21:06.:21:10.

long. It certainly wasn't wide. All this talk about chalk, have you

:21:11.:21:48.

seen Viktor Troicki's knock-down from the other day? I have to take a

:21:49.:21:56.

closer look, I only saw bits of it. I will have to watch start to finish

:21:57.:21:59.

to see if the point stands. Good play from Sock, really nice. No

:22:00.:22:19.

question he was in deep, deep trouble if he were to lose that

:22:20.:22:27.

game. In a number of ways. He's starting to get into some rallies

:22:28.:22:30.

and utilise that forehand and take advantage of that strength, push

:22:31.:22:35.

Raonic around the court. That felt almost like match point. I know it's

:22:36.:22:40.

early but he would have been so discouraged, I think, it would have

:22:41.:22:46.

been hard to recover. This gives him a little pep in his walk right now.

:22:47.:22:49.

A good lesson for young players like that lad watching on, it's easy to

:22:50.:22:55.

switch off mentally, especially after a couple of really tight sets

:22:56.:23:03.

when the odd point hasn't gone away. Sock has remained competitive

:23:04.:23:09.

throughout, and still believes. We watched one of the greatest players

:23:10.:23:12.

that ever lived, you say top five, I would put him close to that category

:23:13.:23:17.

if not already, tap out, check out the second set against Querrey,

:23:18.:23:27.

Djokovic last night. And that maybe cost him the match. How much

:23:28.:23:35.

choosing that is now in these guys minds? I'm sure everybody in the

:23:36.:23:40.

locker room was glued to the set watching that. Exhilarating and

:23:41.:23:48.

stressful at the same times for guys to see this opportunity before their

:23:49.:23:59.

eyes. Raonic, for example, zero and seven against Djokovic. No question

:24:00.:24:01.

it improves his chances. Nicolas Mahut,, regulations to him.

:24:02.:24:20.

He will be playing Sam Querrey. Playing as well or better than he

:24:21.:24:22.

ever has. He was going to be remembered for,

:24:23.:24:39.

and he will be, for the loss, 70-68 in the fifth. He's got the chance to

:24:40.:24:42.

be remembered for something else on the single is called now. That is

:24:43.:24:48.

amazing this late in his career. Querrey's whole career could turn

:24:49.:24:51.

around if he was going to make a big run. It's a strong volley. Doesn't

:24:52.:25:05.

take a whole lot of steps for a guy that big to get close to the net.

:25:06.:25:11.

Got some bad options if you are Sock, it's hard to take a swing at

:25:12.:25:16.

it, you try to block it back, if he moves well, Raonic, he's going to

:25:17.:25:23.

cut it off. Which he's done so far in this match. She's looking

:25:24.:25:33.

relaxed, I'm sure, Judy Murray. Do you know the guy on the left? From

:25:34.:25:39.

the dancing show. Strictly. Ever been approached for that? I could

:25:40.:25:43.

see that. Don't even get people thinking about it. You don't want to

:25:44.:25:49.

see that. Here's what's happening outside around the grounds. Let's

:25:50.:25:53.

take a little look at Wimbledon at 7:55pm. And that is not a bad way to

:25:54.:26:00.

spend your Saturday evening, is it? In the sun, watching some wonderful

:26:01.:26:06.

tennis going on, bit of doubles. Some key singles matches still

:26:07.:26:17.

continuing. There's another American. We are to fit too. Not

:26:18.:26:23.

looking great for Sock at the moment. Isner, Tsonga, guess what,

:26:24.:26:31.

probably a first set tie-break. What a shocking turn of events there!

:26:32.:26:41.

Raonic getting better looks at his return, Sock's generally playing

:26:42.:26:49.

better off the ground. Definitely under the gun, Sock, right now.

:26:50.:27:00.

That's not a good shot. Feeling a lot of pressure. That's what Raonic

:27:01.:27:03.

does to you. Only previous time he slipped to

:27:04.:27:16.

0-30 on his serve, Jack Sock, he lost his serve, that was in the

:27:17.:27:26.

seventh game of the second set. And he was just a little hesitant coming

:27:27.:27:33.

in! That is dead on. I was just thinking he should use his skills at

:27:34.:27:37.

the net and take it to Raonic, he decided to do that, hesitated, then

:27:38.:27:40.

moved forward but couldn't cover that shot, beautiful passing shot.

:27:41.:28:16.

First break two more potentially to come.

:28:17.:28:57.

Ooh. That was a lot more difficult than it looked for Sock, there. It's

:28:58.:29:09.

what Raonic was trying to do, hit it short, spin it away from Sock. He

:29:10.:29:16.

just hustled up and gave it a ride. Uses his wrist on that forehand more

:29:17.:29:22.

than anyone in the game and he needed to, there. Still has to save

:29:23.:29:33.

this one more. See if Raonic attacks this second serve.

:29:34.:29:48.

Certainly could have given that a ride and tensed up. Thinking might

:29:49.:30:02.

be saving that replay for the debrief!

:30:03.:30:24.

It was admirable enthusiasm from Jack Sock, fighting hard, often

:30:25.:30:30.

playing some of his best tennis when his back is against the wall. It is

:30:31.:30:36.

all you can ask from April. -- it is all you can ask from a pro-.

:30:37.:30:52.

Exactly right. His back was against the wall. He has two B disappointed,

:30:53.:31:04.

the way that game was handled at 0-40. They both knew how critical it

:31:05.:31:14.

was. It was seemingly over. Again, that breathed some life into Sock.

:31:15.:31:19.

0-40, that is impressive. Especially in a match like this, a game of

:31:20.:31:25.

chance is that are few and far between. He lost the second set, and

:31:26.:31:30.

it cost him. Here in the third set, he has faced four break points and

:31:31.:31:40.

won them all. That is good. It is good. He is trying to find a way to

:31:41.:31:44.

make himself believe he can do this. His record is good, he has won only

:31:45.:31:49.

one out of eight matches against Routledge. His worst loss out of all

:31:50.:31:51.

of those was here. So, -- one out of eight matches

:31:52.:32:18.

against Brown which -- Raonic. A good time for the English rugby team

:32:19.:32:33.

at the moment. This is a good time for Sock. Raonic has to keep his

:32:34.:32:36.

focus, forget about what happened. It could be a golden opportunity,

:32:37.:32:44.

keep his intensity on his serve. He was guiding it, he wasn't doing much

:32:45.:32:45.

with it. Tell us a bit about what he is like

:32:46.:33:31.

to work with. Here's a fine man, me loss, intelligent. -- he is a fine

:33:32.:33:45.

man, Milos, intelligent. He understands and wants to add more to

:33:46.:33:52.

his game. He has a better comfort level at the net. To me, he clearly

:33:53.:33:57.

could have taken that with two hands. I don't want to be a

:33:58.:34:01.

back-seat driver, but he could have taken it and ripped it. As an

:34:02.:34:06.

opponent, you want to see him guide as many balls as possible.

:34:07.:34:16.

He has a good team around him, works hard on his fitness, his

:34:17.:34:22.

flexibility, his speed. This game is a direct result of

:34:23.:34:45.

losing that 0-40 lead. Just his second double fault of the match. He

:34:46.:34:53.

let it down at 170 miles per are. From 0-40 in the previous game on

:34:54.:34:58.

the Sock serve, now Raonic is facing a break point on his own serve. Is

:34:59.:35:01.

this the start of a Sock fightback? Sock knows that his backhand is not

:35:02.:35:21.

as good as his forehand, so he is expecting a ball out wide. It is

:35:22.:35:27.

impossible for anyone, if you hit your spot as well as Milos did

:35:28.:35:38.

there. There it is again. Sock has got a huge grip change that he

:35:39.:35:45.

employs. It is tough to get full swing on his forehand, too.

:35:46.:36:00.

Clever. A good effort by both guys, really. To hold serve in the service

:36:01.:36:09.

games. Sock, from 0-40. They have both faced break points in

:36:10.:36:26.

three of their last four service games. Which is in stark contrast to

:36:27.:36:36.

the first hour of tennis we saw. That is a huge return. Raonic has a

:36:37.:36:43.

big forehand. It is tough to get the ball out wide on him, he is so tall.

:36:44.:36:50.

Sock thought he hit a pretty good serve.

:36:51.:37:13.

His forehand has got better and better as this match has moved

:37:14.:37:19.

along. He is starting to make an impact with Raonic.

:37:20.:37:43.

It's not a bad play to go up the middle at time against any player,

:37:44.:37:49.

take away their wrangle, and if they don't hit it that cleanly, it allows

:37:50.:37:57.

you to go from your shot. -- take away their angle. He will be

:37:58.:38:00.

extremely disappointed he missed that ball. Puts pressure back on him

:38:01.:38:03.

again. That's good defence by Raonic, a

:38:04.:38:21.

really good effort. I'm surprised Sock doesn't move forward and take

:38:22.:38:26.

some of those balls in the air. Like there. He sees Raonic is slicing a

:38:27.:38:34.

forehand. It gives Raonic again an opportunity to break.

:38:35.:38:44.

Those opportunities that we see, watching a match, we think, come in,

:38:45.:38:51.

come in - is that natural feel, being wary of the threat? I think it

:38:52.:38:57.

is a combination of the both, but you can learn that, too. You slowly

:38:58.:39:01.

try to seep it into your bloodstream.

:39:02.:39:11.

Players hit it so hard, with so much spin, that you become hesitant

:39:12.:39:16.

coming forward. It's understandable. Sock's second serve, by the way, was

:39:17.:39:49.

118. He went for it and it paid off. And he has come through another one.

:39:50.:40:48.

Six break points he has faced and saved in this sector. He is

:40:49.:40:52.

resilient, the American, and he fights on. 3-2. -- in this set. SUE

:40:53.:41:04.

BARKER: With Raonic two set up, we're going to leave us a bit you

:41:05.:41:07.

want to continue, watch on the red button. We will be heading off to

:41:08.:41:11.

watch Nick Kyrgios in a moment. First, there are so much happening,

:41:12.:41:15.

it is very busy here at Wimbledon. Many stars are in action, and you

:41:16.:41:19.

can watch them online because they are available on the app.

:41:20.:41:29.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is in trouble. You can watch that online. No such

:41:30.:41:41.

problems for Agnieszka Radwanska, the third seed, after coming through

:41:42.:41:46.

that marathon the other day. She is 6-3, 2-1 up in her match on Court

:41:47.:41:55.

three. Again, that is online. Juan Martin del Potro, he put out Stan

:41:56.:41:59.

Wawrinka in the opening round, took the first set in the tie-break but

:42:00.:42:11.

dropped the second to Lucas Pouille of France. That is on Court well. We

:42:12.:42:17.

will be heading over to Court Number One to join the match live in a

:42:18.:42:21.

moment, but Nick Kyrgios has called on the train onto the court because

:42:22.:42:26.

of a nosebleed. This was a moment ago. Anyone who has had this done

:42:27.:42:33.

knows that it is not pleasant. I feel for him, I really do, but the

:42:34.:42:38.

trainer was on court for some time. They resumed play. It obviously did

:42:39.:42:44.

the trick because he has just broken Lopez to go up 5-3. Here he is,

:42:45.:42:52.

serving for the first set. We can join Peter Fleming and John Imber

:42:53.:42:59.

Dale, who can tell is more. At 11am today, looking at all the courts,

:43:00.:43:03.

this was the match that stood out as potentially the Match of the Day.

:43:04.:43:06.

Little will read to know what was going to happen. This match has

:43:07.:43:14.

lived up to its billing and has been fantastic, it really has. The

:43:15.:43:18.

quality from both sides of the net has been incredible. We had a little

:43:19.:43:25.

bit of medical time-out, but he then broke Lopez's server and here years

:43:26.:43:35.

serving for the first set. -- broke Lopez's serve. UR overstating it,

:43:36.:43:39.

there was no controversy unless you want to make it up! -- you are

:43:40.:43:42.

overstating it. A straightforward medical time-out.

:43:43.:43:55.

I mean, it did disrupt the rhythm of the first set. When did you last see

:43:56.:44:00.

a player have a medical time-out for a stuffed nose?

:44:01.:44:08.

That's the way to do it. Nose or no nos. He is one set to the good, Nick

:44:09.:44:20.

Kyrgios. We have had some sensational tennis in this first

:44:21.:44:24.

set, one rally in particular, which Lopez won with a backhand volley at

:44:25.:44:28.

the net. It was just truly marvellous from both sides. So the

:44:29.:44:43.

7- has -- so the almost 8000 people seem to be drifting back from other

:44:44.:44:48.

courts after hearing about the quality of this. Where'd you sit on

:44:49.:44:54.

the potential of Nick Kyrgios to be a world number one? I think he is a

:44:55.:44:59.

strong candidate for that. He has a fewer wrinkles to iron out in terms

:45:00.:45:04.

of his mental approach, but physically he has got it all. As you

:45:05.:45:09.

can see, the stats don't really tell the whole story. Kyrgios clearly,

:45:10.:45:14.

after the first game where he lost his serve, dominated on serve. That,

:45:15.:45:21.

I guess, was the difference, but you know, he is a war rear, Kyrgios. He

:45:22.:45:31.

competes most of the time. From time to time, though, he gets more

:45:32.:45:36.

involved with the things that are going on around him than actually

:45:37.:45:40.

just focusing on the next shot, the next point. But it is what makes him

:45:41.:45:48.

pretty fun to watch. That is going to sell some tickets in the next ten

:45:49.:45:54.

years. The prize for the winner of this is a match in the last 16

:45:55.:45:58.

against Andy Murray on Monday, and Lopez has been at that stage at

:45:59.:46:00.

Wimbledon six times in the past. He played his first Grand Slam

:46:01.:46:15.

tournament went Kyrgios was just six years old.

:46:16.:46:20.

Peter and I were discussing earlier on in the first set how amazing it

:46:21.:46:29.

is that this is his 59th consecutive Grand Slam tournament.

:46:30.:46:43.

Yeah, what a great athlete he is. To be able to go that long.

:46:44.:46:55.

To go that long and never have a major injury. It is not like his

:46:56.:47:04.

style is really easy. OK, he serves great, winds cheap points off that,

:47:05.:47:08.

but his ground strokes are not that powerful, so he has to do a lot of

:47:09.:47:15.

running during backcourt rallies. How's that? Ha-ha. It is one of the

:47:16.:47:51.

greatest exchanges you will ever see on a tennis court. Kyrgios took the

:47:52.:47:59.

bat, no, he just missed it. But he took it back as if he was going to

:48:00.:48:06.

hit a drop shot, Lopez charged, Kyrgios hit a hard slice, Lopez

:48:07.:48:14.

reacted to it. And the rest in student. -- the rest followed. This

:48:15.:48:23.

match obviously won't finish tonight, which is a shame, but it

:48:24.:48:27.

means that presumably they will be back here on Court One tomorrow.

:48:28.:48:37.

All the people who are here tomorrow are in for an absolute treat.

:48:38.:49:17.

You proved earlier on in the medical time-out is that you are a doctor of

:49:18.:49:25.

medicine. As a doctor of meteorology, do you think they can

:49:26.:49:34.

get this set into night? -- in tonight.

:49:35.:49:50.

Unless this set finishes 6-1 to one player they other -- to one player

:49:51.:50:00.

or the other, I can't see them finishing this tonight. He will be

:50:01.:50:03.

part of the decision. But actually, John, in fact, the

:50:04.:50:42.

first set to 35 minutes. If this one also takes 35 men's, that takes

:50:43.:50:49.

hours to 8:50pm, so they might say, let's give this a shot. It is a

:50:50.:50:59.

spectacular night. The views from Henman Hill looking across London

:51:00.:51:04.

will be magnificent. , With no cloud, they could go to 9:20pm,

:51:05.:51:11.

9:30pm. Remember the Nadal Federer epic?

:51:12.:51:22.

Kyrgios was screaming at himself on the point before that one, now it is

:51:23.:51:30.

Lopez screening. Lopez has been giving verbal to his camp almost

:51:31.:51:34.

nonstop for the last half an hour or so. Yeah, it is almost Murray -esque

:51:35.:51:41.

from the French Open. The work and the slice on some of

:51:42.:52:16.

these shots is a sight to behold, it really is, from both sides. There

:52:17.:52:22.

they are, taking their fair share of abuse.

:52:23.:52:34.

A shout from Kyrgios. Mumbling from Lopez. 1-1. This is like a boxing

:52:35.:52:47.

match, isn't it? Big, heavy blows being traded between a couple of

:52:48.:52:50.

real heavyweights. And yet, just occasionally, the most

:52:51.:53:02.

fantastic field, delicate shots as well. -- the most fantastic feel.

:53:03.:53:25.

I suppose that's when the coaching panel say, but we didn't stick it in

:53:26.:53:30.

the net. You have to say, how much more

:53:31.:54:05.

entertaining and enjoyable is an experience like this, watching these

:54:06.:54:08.

two guys with so much interaction with themselves, the opponent, the

:54:09.:54:15.

crowd? This is fantastic entertainment. Look at Kyrgios now.

:54:16.:54:52.

That was a great return from Kyrgios. Lopez's ventures, by and

:54:53.:55:03.

large, to the net have not been successful. No? His volleying has

:55:04.:55:13.

not been quite as accurate or aggressive as he has needed it to

:55:14.:55:14.

be. Lopez is talking to his coaching

:55:15.:55:30.

team, whether he wins or loses the point.

:55:31.:55:38.

A pretty conclusive service came from the Spaniard. -- service game.

:55:39.:55:54.

Here we have further medical attention for Nick Kyrgios. Is this

:55:55.:56:05.

for his nose again? I can't hear, sadly, on the umpire's microphone

:56:06.:56:17.

what is happening. Well, the doctor came on and

:56:18.:56:18.

then left, did he leave him a spray or something? I don't know what he

:56:19.:56:24.

delivered, if anything. SUE BARKER: We are coming to the end

:56:25.:56:40.

of our transmission on BBC Two, because today at Wimbledon is next.

:56:41.:56:46.

If you want to continue watching this match, you can. It continues

:56:47.:56:52.

online. So, Lopez and Kyrgios, whether they will finish tonight, we

:56:53.:56:57.

just don't know. They will likely be back tomorrow, but that continues

:56:58.:56:59.

online if you want to see this match. Play continues elsewhere, and

:57:00.:57:07.

on the red button at the moment, Milos Raonic up against Jack Sock.

:57:08.:57:15.

Raonic 2-0 in sets. That matches on the red button. -- that match is on

:57:16.:57:30.

Agnieszka Radwanska is close. She is up against Siniakova of the Czech

Republic. These matches are all online if you want to see them. Juan

:57:47.:57:54.

Martin del Potro is at 1-1 with Lucas Pouille. That might be held

:57:55.:57:58.

off until tomorrow. 3-3 in the third set. And Court 18, Richard Gasquet,

:57:59.:58:05.

last year's semifinals, he is back in it. He has taken the second set

:58:06.:58:13.

on the tie-break, so 1-1 in sets in that match. A busy day here, and
