-Oi, stop what you're doing.

-Yeah, what are you doing?

7:00:097:00:11

It's time for Blue Peter and today it's over to you.

7:00:117:00:13

-Are you ready?

-I'm ready.

-Yes!

7:00:137:00:18

-Bring.

-It.

-On.

7:00:187:00:20

The Purple Badge show!

7:00:207:00:22

Hello and welcome to live Blue Peter. Guys, we are super excited.

7:00:407:00:46

Today's show is all about this cute little guy here - the Purple Badge.

7:00:467:00:50

Let's talk some stats, shall we?

7:00:507:00:51

Last year we gave out nearly 14,000 Purple Badges. That is a lot.

7:00:517:00:57

If you didn't get yours, don't worry. You still can.

7:00:577:00:59

-Radzi is the man in the know.

-Indeed.

7:00:597:01:01

All you have to do is jump on to the Blue Peter website,

7:01:017:01:03

download this beauty, print it off and fill it out.

7:01:037:01:06

That's how you review an episode.

7:01:067:01:07

Tell us what you like about Blue Peter, what you don't like,

7:01:077:01:10

what you'd love to see and even what you'd do if you were a guest

7:01:107:01:14

on Blue Peter, which is exactly what Naomi and Kara did.

7:01:147:01:18

-Hi, I'm Naomi.

-Hi, I'm Kara.

-On my Purple Badge form...

7:01:197:01:23

..I said if I was a guest on Blue Peter...

7:01:237:01:25

..I would show my speed stack skills.

7:01:257:01:27

..I would do some of my martial arts.

7:01:277:01:30

I can do that! Go on, then. The dungarees are holding me back!

7:01:427:01:47

What's really nice about receiving your feedback is it's

7:01:477:01:49

a direct link to us, rather than sitting there when we are on telly.

7:01:497:01:52

It means we know what you think.

7:01:527:01:54

Today's show is all about exactly what you want to see.

7:01:547:01:57

We are trying to make you happy.

7:01:577:01:59

You want to see more athletes and competitions.

7:01:597:02:02

We've blended the two to make you happy. They are over there.

7:02:027:02:05

Jess Ennis-Hill and Richard Whitehead!

7:02:057:02:08

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:02:087:02:10

We are so excited to have you here.

7:02:107:02:12

You're here because there's an epic new Blue Peter sports competition.

7:02:127:02:16

-I know. We're so excited, aren't we?

-Pens and paper at the ready, guys.

7:02:167:02:20

-I love that. Say no more.

-You've asked for music on the show.

7:02:207:02:24

You did ask for The Vamps, but we couldn't find them.

7:02:247:02:27

I am only kidding. They're right behind me. A huge round of applause.

7:02:277:02:30

We'll hear from them later. Now follow me over here.

7:02:307:02:34

There he goes. He's gone old school.

7:02:347:02:36

Another old school thing on BP is this - Spot Shelley.

7:02:367:02:39

Last week the unthinkable happened because nobody spotted Shelley.

7:02:397:02:43

This week, keep your eyes peeled.

7:02:437:02:45

She might be big, she might be small, but she will be on the show.

7:02:457:02:48

-Don't give any clues away.

-She was tiny last week. It was really hard.

7:02:487:02:51

You might have spotted the Purple Badge is looking

7:02:517:02:56

a little bit different, new and improved.

7:02:567:02:59

We've got an exciting announcement. To help me, can we have...

7:02:597:03:03

Oh, he's doing a baby drumroll. Go on. Lovely!

7:03:037:03:07

To join the environmentally friendly blue and green badges

7:03:077:03:10

is the brand-new Purple Badge!

7:03:107:03:12

APPLAUSE

7:03:127:03:15

Here he is.

7:03:157:03:18

Mystery Purple Badge man. Security, we have a problem in the studio.

7:03:187:03:21

Could we have him removed, please? He's scaring me.

7:03:217:03:23

From now on if you get a Purple Badge,

7:03:237:03:25

it's going to look just like this.

7:03:257:03:27

How awesome is that? We love it.

7:03:277:03:29

-Welcome, Purple Badge.

-Guys, I have a serious question.

7:03:297:03:33

-Who here loves competitions?

-I do!

7:03:337:03:35

CHEERING

7:03:357:03:37

-Vamps? Come on, guys.

-They absolutely do.

7:03:377:03:40

I do, but so does Molly.

7:03:407:03:43

Hi, I'm Molly.

7:03:437:03:44

On my Purple Badge form,

7:03:447:03:46

I said I wanted to see even more competitions.

7:03:467:03:49

This is going to be off the charts. Molly, get very, very excited.

7:03:497:03:54

Just... Well, watch.

7:03:547:03:56

Get set...

7:04:007:04:03

for a massive competition.

7:04:037:04:05

The biggest global sporting events of 2017 are coming to London.

7:04:077:04:13

And, with them, the greatest athletes on the planet,

7:04:147:04:17

all competing for gold at the World ParaAthletics

7:04:177:04:21

and the IAAF World Championships, London 2017

7:04:217:04:25

and one of you is going play a massive part.

7:04:257:04:30

One lucky Blue Peter viewer will get to design both mascots

7:04:327:04:36

for the London 2017 Championships.

7:04:367:04:40

Oh, yes!

7:04:407:04:41

The winning designs will be made into the official mascots

7:04:417:04:45

that will rub shoulders with the likes of Mr Usain Bolt,

7:04:457:04:48

Jonnie Peacock, Hannah Cockcroft and Mo Farah.

7:04:487:04:52

Judging your entries are two gold-medal winning superstars.

7:04:527:04:56

Double Paralympic and triple World and European gold medallist

7:04:577:05:01

Richard Whitehead.

7:05:017:05:03

And Olympic triple World and European champion,

7:05:037:05:06

Jessica Ennis-Hill.

7:05:067:05:08

Not only will your designs be turned into the official mascots of

7:05:087:05:12

London 2017, and be seen all over the world by millions of fans,

7:05:127:05:17

you'll also get tickets to the Championships,

7:05:177:05:20

receive a VIP tour of the London stadium and come face-to-face

7:05:207:05:24

with some of THE best athletes in the world.

7:05:247:05:28

This is off the charts.

7:05:287:05:29

To win this amazing prize,

7:05:307:05:32

you need to come up with two original mascot designs.

7:05:327:05:37

One for the World ParaAthletics Championships

7:05:377:05:39

and one for the IAAF World Championships.

7:05:397:05:43

You need to give them names

7:05:437:05:44

and write a paragraph explaining how you came up with your designs.

7:05:447:05:48

All the details on how to enter are on the Blue Peter website.

7:05:487:05:52

Hello, everybody,

7:05:537:05:54

get designing your Blue Peter World Championship mascot.

7:05:547:05:57

This is a big part of the memories from the Games

7:05:577:06:00

so give us your best design.

7:06:007:06:02

Get designing your Blue Peter mascot.

7:06:027:06:04

I'm looking forward to seeing you all design your mascot

7:06:047:06:07

for Blue Peter for London 2017.

7:06:077:06:09

You never know what can happen to your mascot.

7:06:097:06:11

Hey, you might even see it on the podium.

7:06:117:06:13

Get designing the Blue Peter mascot.

7:06:137:06:15

Good luck designing your mascot.

7:06:157:06:17

So, what are you waiting for?

7:06:177:06:21

It's time to get involved with something special!

7:06:217:06:24

-It's a tingle, it's a tingle!

-He's going for the double.

7:06:277:06:29

The double happy dance, everybody. That's how excited he is.

7:06:297:06:32

Oh, Radz! You need to chill. We've got to go through the rules.

7:06:327:06:35

-I've got to talk about details.

-OK.

7:06:357:06:38

First of all you need to design TWO mascots.

7:06:387:06:40

They each need to have a name.

7:06:407:06:42

One mascot for each of the Championships.

7:06:427:06:44

The mascots need to get along and they need to encourage each other

7:06:447:06:47

-to try their best.

-You can't copy anybody else's mascot.

7:06:477:06:50

That would be silly.

7:06:507:06:51

You want it to be YOUR design that wins,

7:06:517:06:53

so it needs to be original and unique to you.

7:06:537:06:55

That also means you can't copy anything Blue Peter-y.

7:06:557:06:57

That's a new word. You can't copy the ship, the presenters or logo.

7:06:577:07:00

-In fact, any logo at all.

-Let's talk about more musts and must-nots.

7:07:007:07:04

You cannot favour a particular country with design or colour.

7:07:047:07:07

It must be bold, creative

7:07:077:07:11

and, in an off-the-charts way, in love with athletics.

7:07:117:07:14

-That's official.

-So many rules. This is one of the last ones.

7:07:147:07:17

You'll need to send it by post by 12 noon on February 10th.

7:07:177:07:21

That is really important that you get it to us on time.

7:07:217:07:24

If you're sending it in a large envelope, like the one I have here,

7:07:247:07:28

you will need a large letter stamp.

7:07:287:07:31

That's really important. You don't want to get it wrong.

7:07:317:07:33

You will be disqualified and we'll be upset.

7:07:337:07:35

Your mascot could be picked by the World ParaAthletics or the IAAF

7:07:357:07:39

World Championships London 2017, two of the biggest events on the planet.

7:07:397:07:42

This is very exciting.

7:07:427:07:44

If you've missed the details or just want to go through them again,

7:07:447:07:46

go to the Blue Peter website. They're all there for you.

7:07:467:07:49

I think this competition needs some superstar judges.

7:07:497:07:51

-Bring them back, Linds.

-Please welcome back Jess and Richard.

7:07:517:07:54

In you come, guys.

7:07:547:07:56

APPLAUSE

7:07:567:07:57

Welcome back to Blue Peter. Jess, I'll start with you.

7:07:577:08:00

You are an inspiration to our audience.

7:08:007:08:02

You are an Olympic champion, a three-time world champion,

7:08:027:08:05

a gold badge holder.

7:08:057:08:06

Whoop and cheer, please.

7:08:067:08:08

WHOOPS AND CHEERS

7:08:087:08:10

But you are also a judge on our brand-new competition.

7:08:107:08:12

-How do you feel about it?

-Yeah, so excited.

7:08:127:08:14

This year I'm retired, so I won't get to compete.

7:08:147:08:17

To be on the panel with Richard

7:08:177:08:19

and picking the winner for the mascot is so exciting.

7:08:197:08:22

It's really good news for everybody else you've retired because they

7:08:227:08:24

have a chance.

7:08:247:08:26

Richard, not only have you won silver and gold at Rio,

7:08:267:08:28

you are a world record-holder in sprinting and long distance

7:08:287:08:31

and now you've set your sights on London 2017.

7:08:317:08:34

Yeah, London 2017. A big event. It's great that Blue Peter are involved.

7:08:347:08:39

There are athletes from the Olympic side - Mo,

7:08:397:08:42

Usain Bolt,

7:08:427:08:44

and obviously myself in the Para event.

7:08:447:08:46

-So hopefully I can bring back more silverware.

-We think you can.

7:08:467:08:50

Jess, will you be a scary judge?

7:08:507:08:53

What are you looking for with this competition?

7:08:537:08:55

-I'm not going to be a scary judge.

-Good.

7:08:557:08:57

We're looking for people to be really creative.

7:08:577:09:01

They've got to be bold,

7:09:017:09:02

they've got to love athletics and both mascots have to be friends.

7:09:027:09:06

-They've got to interact.

-We like that.

-Get designing.

7:09:067:09:09

Anyone watching who thinks this is up their street, a huge good luck.

7:09:097:09:11

You want everyone in the country to do this, don't you?

7:09:117:09:15

-Radzi, do you want to apply?

-I wish I could. Too old!

-You can't.

7:09:157:09:19

A couple of questions now.

7:09:197:09:21

Richard, the first one for you from Poppy. Over to you, Poppy.

7:09:217:09:24

Hi, my name's Poppy.

7:09:257:09:27

I wanted to see some Olympians and Paralympians on Blue Peter.

7:09:277:09:31

My question is - athletes have their highs and lows.

7:09:317:09:35

What inspires you through your lows?

7:09:357:09:37

A great question, Poppy.

7:09:387:09:40

I am glad she wants to see more Olympians and Paralympians

7:09:407:09:43

on the television.

7:09:437:09:44

It's great. For me, when you are at your low,

7:09:447:09:46

you need to have lots of positiveness around you.

7:09:467:09:49

It's really important to have the positive people around you

7:09:497:09:52

to support you, to have more success.

7:09:527:09:55

Jess, a question for you from the cutest person on the planet, Evie.

7:09:557:09:59

Hi, Jessica. My name is Evie.

7:09:597:10:02

On my Purple Badge form I asked to see you as a guest on Blue Peter.

7:10:027:10:07

My question for you is

7:10:077:10:09

would you like your son Reggie to do athletics when he is older?

7:10:097:10:12

-Good question.

-Oh, I love Evie already!

7:10:147:10:17

I would love him to do athletics,

7:10:177:10:19

of course, but I'm not going to be a pushy parent.

7:10:197:10:21

I will guide him into sport gently. Thank you for your question.

7:10:217:10:24

And make him do lots of athletics.

7:10:247:10:27

This is where we cut to a shot of Reggie when he's 16 playing guitar

7:10:277:10:30

in his bedroom. I really hope so. Anyway, good luck to everybody.

7:10:307:10:32

I hope you get involved and really enjoy yourselves.

7:10:327:10:35

Don't forget, it has to be original and unique to you.

7:10:357:10:37

We love to hear what you think about the show.

7:10:377:10:39

Nancy got in touch via her Purple Badge form and had a simple request.

7:10:397:10:43

Nancy, you know what, simple or complicated, we aim to please.

7:10:437:10:47

Hi, I'm Nancy.

7:10:477:10:49

On my Purple Badge form I said I wanted to see more kids on the show,

7:10:497:10:52

including me, and here are some more.

7:10:527:10:54

Thanks, Nancy. Lately we've been having a great time on Blue Peter.

7:10:567:11:01

We've seen daring challenges,

7:11:017:11:03

world records and even gravity-defying magic.

7:11:037:11:07

How does he do that?!

7:11:077:11:09

And you've been using your Purple Badge forms to tell us

7:11:097:11:12

exactly what you thought of it all.

7:11:127:11:15

That is so funny!

7:11:157:11:16

But what happens when you put some BP fans in some front of some

7:11:167:11:20

of our recent best bits?

7:11:207:11:23

We begin with a classic Blue Peter world record attempt.

7:11:237:11:26

This is the record for the most badges pinned on a person

7:11:267:11:29

-in one minute.

-Easy.

7:11:297:11:31

All have to be completely and correctly pinned in the time.

7:11:317:11:35

They're not real Blue Peter badges.

7:11:357:11:37

Yes, they are.

7:11:377:11:39

Three...two...one...go!

7:11:397:11:41

I'm so shaky.

7:11:417:11:43

-Does she have to put the back part on as well?

-Mm-hm.

7:11:437:11:46

-Oh, one went flying!

-One of them's fallen off. Oh, no!

7:11:467:11:50

Four...three...two...one.

7:11:507:11:53

-Well done.

-You managed a total of 22!

7:11:567:11:58

Wow!

7:12:007:12:01

-22?

-22.

7:12:017:12:04

She shouldn't get it! He should!

7:12:047:12:05

Oy, I give that attempt everything

7:12:057:12:08

and the same can be said for Radzi when he took on water-skiing.

7:12:087:12:13

Oh, I love this one.

7:12:137:12:14

Putting the tricks together against the clock and in front of the judges

7:12:147:12:18

is going to be so tough.

7:12:187:12:21

What kind of stretch is that?

7:12:217:12:23

Fortunately, I'm allowed one quick practice to get myself ready.

7:12:237:12:28

-It must be scary doing it.

-As I try one of the 180-degree turns...

7:12:287:12:34

I thought that would be good then. He tripped straight into the water.

7:12:357:12:39

OK, Radzi, one last chance. Come on!

7:12:397:12:42

He's got to do it this time.

7:12:427:12:44

Come on, Radzi.

7:12:447:12:46

-That is one.

-Whoa!

-One hand off.

7:12:467:12:50

I've started the turn. Can I get all the way around?

7:12:507:12:53

-I've made it!

-He's done it. He's actually done it.

7:12:537:12:57

Yes! Yes! Yes!

7:12:577:13:00

And if seeing Blue Peter presenters trying desperately not to fall over

7:13:007:13:03

is your thing, then our Children In Need spectacular was for you.

7:13:037:13:07

-She's only a kid!

-I wonder how old she is?

7:13:077:13:11

You are thinking there's no way we are able to do that...

7:13:117:13:14

You're absolutely right. We're not. It's ridiculous.

7:13:147:13:17

-But we are going to give it a go.

-Oh, they're going to give it a go.

7:13:177:13:19

They're not going to be able to do that.

7:13:197:13:21

The person with the least votes will face the ultimate punishment!

7:13:217:13:26

Goo!

7:13:267:13:28

Come on, Lindsay.

7:13:287:13:31

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

7:13:317:13:33

-I got it, I got it.

-Whoa!

7:13:357:13:38

Lindsey's doing really, really, really well.

7:13:427:13:45

-Who would you vote for?

-I don't know. They are all terrible!

7:13:457:13:49

Four...three...two...one.

7:13:497:13:51

Go!

7:13:517:13:53

Eurgh!

7:13:557:13:57

Ooh!

7:13:577:13:58

He looks like me when I'm in the shower.

7:13:587:14:01

Radzi, you legend.

7:14:017:14:03

While we're on the subject of legends,

7:14:037:14:05

how about magician Jamie Raven?

7:14:057:14:07

-This is magic.

-Oh, my gosh!

7:14:077:14:10

-Whoa!

-How's he doing that?

7:14:137:14:16

He's just unravelled that cup and there's milk!

7:14:167:14:20

I was wondering if you could help me out to try and inspire the

7:14:207:14:22

next generation of magicians and do it right here now?

7:14:227:14:25

I would absolutely love to. It would be an honour. OK.

7:14:257:14:28

I would say, "No me, I'm not going to do this, thank you very much."

7:14:287:14:31

I wonder what he's going to do now?

7:14:317:14:33

-Oh, my word!

-Maybe there's some kind of air in it?

7:14:367:14:39

That just looked awesome.

7:14:397:14:42

If it is magic, that is good!

7:14:447:14:47

No matter how many times I see that, I still can't believe it happened.

7:14:477:14:51

And speaking of I can't believe it happened moments, I give you one of

7:14:527:14:56

the most famous challenges in Blue Peter's epic history - wing walking.

7:14:567:15:00

You will be standing on the wing and passing that baton.

7:15:007:15:04

So Lindsey is passing it to Radzi.

7:15:047:15:07

-They need to be so exact in their flying.

-Look at his face!

7:15:077:15:11

Let's not forget, I'm upside down.

7:15:127:15:15

I feel sorry for Lindsey having to go upside down.

7:15:157:15:17

Are we going to do it? Come on!

7:15:177:15:20

Go on, just let go.

7:15:217:15:23

Come on, oh!

7:15:237:15:25

I just don't know if we're ever going to get this right.

7:15:257:15:27

This is our last chance.

7:15:277:15:29

-Yes!

-Yeah!

7:15:327:15:34

They did it!

7:15:367:15:38

So that's what they thought, but what about you?

7:15:407:15:43

Download your Purple Badge form to tell us what you think

7:15:437:15:46

and YOU could earn your very own Purple Badge.

7:15:467:15:50

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:15:507:15:52

Such a great film. Such brilliant reactions.

7:15:527:15:55

Just to see Radzi's cheeks wobbling on screen.

7:15:557:15:57

Let's look at the big Blue Peter Badge Wall.

7:15:577:16:00

It's special this week - a Purple Badge wall.

7:16:007:16:03

Let's start up here with Saskia.

7:16:037:16:05

She thinks the presenters could mention more names

7:16:057:16:07

on the Big Badge Wall or label them. Saskia, just for you, we have.

7:16:077:16:10

-Dreams can come true.

-Let's talk about George.

7:16:107:16:14

George is an inspirational best friend because he has three badges.

7:16:147:16:19

He said to his best friend he thinks you should apply for

7:16:197:16:21

a Blue Peter badge because they are a special achievement,

7:16:217:16:24

and the very person he said that to now has four badges.

7:16:247:16:27

-George, a round of applause.

-Good. Well done, George.

7:16:277:16:31

Zara, you are my favourite little lady. Let's look at this.

7:16:317:16:34

You say I wish the fan club was open to send messages every day,

7:16:347:16:38

that would be awesome.

7:16:387:16:39

I think that is a new Green badge she has.

7:16:397:16:43

Zara, you legend.

7:16:437:16:44

Scott says he misses me when I'm away because I make it funnier.

7:16:447:16:48

Scott, you are a legend. Just for you, a joke.

7:16:487:16:50

Everyone here is going to join in.

7:16:507:16:52

-Knock knock.

-Who's there?

-Done up.

7:16:527:16:54

-Done up who?

-That's disgusting! Thank you, I'm here all week.

7:16:547:16:58

Iris said that Lindsey can be really cheeky sometimes.

7:16:587:17:02

Take a look at this shot. You don't know the half of it.

7:17:027:17:05

Thank you so much to anyone who sent us in a comment.

7:17:057:17:09

Remember, if you get a BP badge,

7:17:097:17:11

you can get into over 200 attractions across the UK for free.

7:17:117:17:16

Even the director was joining in there.

7:17:167:17:19

Do check the website, though, cos the offers change.

7:17:197:17:21

OK, now it's time for a big moment.

7:17:217:17:22

It's time to announce January's Fan Of The Month.

7:17:227:17:25

For being a lovely person and inviting people to the fan club,

7:17:257:17:28

making sure they're welcome when they're there,

7:17:287:17:30

for talking them through how the Fan Club Hour works and generally

7:17:307:17:33

being a nice person, let's help us with Brad from the Vamps,

7:17:337:17:36

Jess and Richard to announce this Fan of The Month.

7:17:367:17:38

Here we go. The winner is...

7:17:387:17:41

-Pink.

-Sparkly.

-Football!

7:17:417:17:43

Congratulations to you if you are watching, I'm sure you are.

7:17:457:17:48

Now, over to a Purple Badge holder, it's Jake. Take it away.

7:17:487:17:53

Hi, I'm Jake, and on my Purple Badge form, I asked to see animation,

7:17:547:17:58

so here's a film about Kubo And The Two Strings.

7:17:587:18:02

My name is Kubo. This is my story.

7:18:037:18:07

Our enemies aren't far behind.

7:18:077:18:09

Your magic is the only thing that can protect us.

7:18:097:18:12

-You need to learn control.

-Release!

7:18:127:18:15

'Set in Japan, Kubo And The Two Strings tells the story of

7:18:157:18:19

'a young boy who goes on a thrilling quest to save his family.'

7:18:197:18:23

-Don't touch anything.

-He did it.

7:18:237:18:27

'What makes the film so special,

7:18:287:18:30

'it's created using something called stop-motion animation and I want to

7:18:307:18:35

'find out more, so who better to talk to than its director

7:18:357:18:39

'Travis Knight?'

7:18:397:18:40

-Travis, first of all, it's a pleasure to meet you.

-Likewise.

7:18:407:18:44

When I first saw the trailer to this film, I presumed it was CGI,

7:18:447:18:48

but it's not, is it?

7:18:487:18:50

No, most animated films these days are made in a computer

7:18:507:18:54

-but we make films in stop-motion.

-What actually is stop-motion?

7:18:547:18:57

It is simple, you have a puppet and the animator moves that puppet

7:18:577:19:02

one frame at a time, takes a picture with the camera.

7:19:027:19:05

They will move it a bit more, take another picture and on and on

7:19:057:19:10

and eventually you take enough images and put them together and it

7:19:107:19:12

looks like the thing is moving.

7:19:127:19:14

How long did it take to make the film doing it like that?

7:19:147:19:17

-It took us five years to make this movie.

-Five years?

7:19:177:19:21

Impressive.

7:19:217:19:22

In terms of the characters we have here, how do you start making them?

7:19:227:19:26

Are these made by machinery?

7:19:267:19:27

They are all made by hand,

7:19:277:19:30

so we start with clay to make the sculpture and then you make

7:19:307:19:33

the skeleton, which is always made out of metal.

7:19:337:19:36

So, Monkey, she's pretty squishy, you can see that she's soft,

7:19:367:19:40

but her face is actually hard. It's a replacement face.

7:19:407:19:44

The way we get the faces of these puppets is we have a series of

7:19:447:19:48

these different expressions and we take them off and put them back on.

7:19:487:19:51

Kubo's is more standard.

7:19:517:19:53

His hair is made out of human hair

7:19:537:19:56

that we can actually move one frame at a time and get it to look like

7:19:567:20:00

it's blowing in the wind.

7:20:007:20:02

'We know that some of you guys at home are big fans of

7:20:027:20:05

'stop-motion animation because you've sent us some.'

7:20:057:20:09

Two Blue Peter viewers who also love stop-motion are Daniel and Eleanor

7:20:097:20:12

and they have given stop-motion a go themselves.

7:20:127:20:15

They would love for you to see it.

7:20:157:20:17

-Look, a tropical island, guys.

-Can we explore?

7:20:177:20:21

I wish we could, but we have no time.

7:20:217:20:23

We have to get to the Arctic quickly.

7:20:237:20:26

-A shark trying to interrupt!

-Oh!

7:20:267:20:29

He's done it! He won!

7:20:307:20:33

That's pretty impressive. It's quite ambitious.

7:20:337:20:35

That was way more ambitious than the things I did early on.

7:20:357:20:38

'Daniel and Eleanor, you've impressed a Hollywood director.

7:20:387:20:43

'It just goes to show, if you send your creations to Blue Peter

7:20:437:20:46

'you never know who will see them.

7:20:467:20:50

'And there's no way I'm leaving here without having a go myself.'

7:20:507:20:54

Could I use stop-motion to maybe raise Kubo's hand,

7:20:547:20:58

raise the badge up and we'll get to see that on the show?

7:20:587:21:01

-You bet.

-Amazing.

-Give it a shot.

7:21:017:21:04

All you have to do is grab his arm, give it a nudge and he'll move it.

7:21:047:21:08

OK. It really is subtle.

7:21:087:21:11

Your instinct is right, you are animating the hand and keeping

7:21:117:21:14

the base stable, that is what we do as animators all the time.

7:21:147:21:17

I'm really afraid of knocking it over!

7:21:177:21:19

'And the result? Not bad. Now I just need five more years!'

7:21:217:21:25

That was amazing, almost as amazing as Daniel and Eleanor's film.

7:21:267:21:29

If you want to see the full version

7:21:297:21:31

go to the breaking news section of the BP website.

7:21:317:21:33

You two, well done, we love it.

7:21:337:21:35

If you love films, stay tuned for a brand-new special coming your way

7:21:357:21:38

about Lego Batman. Now on to our next guests.

7:21:387:21:41

How would I explain how excited I am about this or how excited you

7:21:417:21:44

would be? Well, let's leave that to Leah from Birmingham.

7:21:447:21:47

Hi, I'm Leah and on Blue Peter, I requested to see The Vamps,

7:21:477:21:52

and here they are!

7:21:527:21:54

SHE SCREAMS

7:21:547:21:56

Oh, yeah!

7:21:567:21:58

Probably the best way to do it.

7:21:587:22:00

-The Vamps are in the studio. So good to see you again.

-You too.

7:22:007:22:03

Let's talk about last year. 2016 was a great year for you.

7:22:037:22:05

You were voted Best British Band at the Radio 1 Teen Awards.

7:22:057:22:08

Well done, boys. Also you released your first book.

7:22:087:22:10

So 2016, tick. What's 2017 holding for you?

7:22:107:22:14

Another tour of the UK, which will be very exciting.

7:22:147:22:17

We get to go all around.

7:22:177:22:18

We've got New Hope Club, a brilliant band, coming on the tour with us.

7:22:187:22:22

We've got Sabrina Carpenter from the USA coming over.

7:22:227:22:25

Fingers crossed, it will be good fun.

7:22:257:22:27

Your tours always get great reviews.

7:22:277:22:28

You've always got great energy on stage.

7:22:287:22:30

People think you're brilliant,

7:22:307:22:32

but I have noticed a gap with your dancers.

7:22:327:22:34

You might need one more dancer on your tour to even things up.

7:22:347:22:37

Here is Dominic showing you what he has got.

7:22:377:22:40

He's got a classic move there.

7:22:447:22:45

I reckon if he comes across the stage mid-chorus...

7:22:457:22:49

Dominic, well done, mate. All from our Purple Badge forms.

7:22:497:22:51

Maybe Alice and her friends could bust some moves on your tour?

7:22:517:22:54

Let's take a look at those.

7:22:547:22:56

Can you imagine that to one of your choruses?

7:23:057:23:09

That was on the spot. That's how talented these guys are.

7:23:127:23:15

You are not here to show your dancing skills today.

7:23:157:23:17

You're singing and playing for us. What are we going to hear?

7:23:177:23:19

The new one, All Night.

7:23:197:23:21

You need to get yourselves ready. We'll see you in a bit.

7:23:217:23:23

The Vamps, everyone.

7:23:237:23:24

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:23:247:23:26

The guys were on the show about three years ago.

7:23:267:23:28

They've not changed one bit, they're the loveliest guys ever,

7:23:287:23:30

but they are now officially big-time.

7:23:307:23:32

Let's talk about Spot Shelley. Last week, nobody spotted her.

7:23:327:23:35

-Jess, did anyone manage it this time?

-Yes.

7:23:357:23:38

Hang on, because I have to find out first where she was.

7:23:387:23:43

-I didn't see her.

-There she was!

7:23:437:23:46

It's obvious when you know it.

7:23:467:23:48

Who spotted her, Jess?

7:23:487:23:50

The winner is Beige Athletic Bear.

7:23:507:23:53

-We love that.

-Congratulations.

7:23:537:23:56

You have won your own pony.

7:23:567:23:58

-No, you've got to stop doing that!

-That was a joke.

-Naughty.

7:23:587:24:01

We have two VIPs but we have to say hello to three VIPs. Who are they?

7:24:017:24:04

-Andrew and Zara at home. Hello.

-And Reggie. Hi, Reggie!

7:24:047:24:09

I hope they're all watching.

7:24:097:24:11

That is just about all we've got time for this week,

7:24:117:24:13

but make sure you're watching next week cos we're going to show

7:24:137:24:15

you how to make a rooster lantern.

7:24:157:24:17

I just said rooster and lantern, that's right.

7:24:177:24:20

Very cool. Chris Packham from Winterwatch will be showing me

7:24:207:24:22

his photography skills.

7:24:227:24:23

I'm going to visit him on set. He's awesome.

7:24:237:24:26

I'm so excited, we have some of the cast in from

7:24:267:24:28

Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events.

7:24:287:24:31

I might lose my mind and get very over-excited if that's OK.

7:24:317:24:34

-Like Leah from Birmingham and scream at the end?

-I might.

7:24:347:24:37

Don't forget to get in touch for the competition.

7:24:377:24:39

We know you can smash it.

7:24:397:24:40

Now, though, keeping us up all night,

7:24:407:24:42

it's only The Vamps, everybody! We'll see you next week.
