-It's been a great year for Trio.

-We've had a lot of highlights.

-We've been to Lampeter

-It's a new year for us.

-Steffan, you have tried to

-take centre lead in the group!

-I didn't try to out-do the lads.

-I wasn't expecting to win

-an award this year.

-It was very unexpected.

-My girlfriend won an award

-We're all proud of him.

-He's had a good teacher!

-Emyr, you went to the Pavilion

-in Llangollen.

-It was a concert for Christmas.

-It was a fund-raising concert

-for local charities.

-There was a string orchestra.

-It was amazing.

-We're choosing the new songs

-It should be released in the summer.

-and arrange the songs too.

-We're a team.

-you've embarked on many ventures.

-You've recently returned from

-a walking expedition in Patagonia.

-The trip was quite a challenge.

-Shane Williams is to blame!

-Sean Holley was also involved.

-We were walking for

-the Velindre Cancer Centre.

-Mam had cancer

-so I wanted to do it.

-Shane led the first the tour.

-There was about 15 of us.

-The second walk had

-Derek Brockway, Sean...

-..and some members of

-the Manic Street Preachers.

-We stayed in two amazing places.

-It had to be built...

-..using materials that was dropped

-in place by a helicopter.

-There wasn't any roads.

-It would have made

-an amazing programme.

-This was very physical.

-Shane, Sean and I were surprised

-with the difficulty.

-You told us about

-the venture before going.

-Was it quite strenuous?

-I thought it was going to be

-a great adventure...

-..but it was difficult.

-Thankfully,

-everyone helped each other.

-I had a virus before the trek.

-It meant that I had suffered

-with arthritis.

-Shane and Sean are fit men.

-You had to keep up with them.

-These trips are hard work.

-Yes, that's right.

-However, it's fantastic when

-you finish a day of walking.

-It was often nice

-just to have a shower.

-How much did you hope to raise?

-By the end of the trip,

-between the group of 60 people...

-..we raised 500,000!

-We're very proud of that fact.

-It's amazing to have been part

-of a team.

-The virus in September meant

-that it slowed me down a lot.

-I was always the last one to finish.

-Everyone was very supportive.

-Have you been to Patagonia, Lowri?

-No, I'd love to go to Patagonia.

-It was a bit like stepping

-onto the set of a Western!

-We went to the Andes.

-Trelew was full of Welsh speakers.

-I'm in good voice with a group who

-are fund-raising by singing carols.

-Sunday happens to be a special day

-for carol singing.

-Carol singing is a tradition

-that stems back thousands of years.

-These weren't Christmas carols by

-Pagan songs for the winter solstice.

-'Carol' stems from the Greek word

-for a circular dance.

-Christians adopted this tradition

-and set them to religious lyrics.

-Since then, carol singing has been

-a popular way to spread the message.

-It's the season of goodwill.

-We wanted to come out singing

-and raise money for charity.

-We love singing

-and it was something seasonal to do.

-We're also raising money

-for the Kidney Wales Foundation.

-Do you need a lot of practice?

-We met at the Romilly in Cardiff

-at 6.30pm and took it from there.

-We've met a lot of new people

-who appreciate what we're doing.

-It's a wonderful atmosphere and

-great to see neighbours chatting.

-There's a feeling that this has been

-missing in Cardiff for many years.

-We're enjoying it

-and hope to do it again next year.

-In rural areas, you have to be

-creative with your carol singing.

-We're the Glannau Teifi Clwb Gwawr

-and are singing for a great charity.

-It's the hyperbaric oxygen chamber

-in Cardigan that's used by locals.

-We're having fun together on the bus

-and in people's homes.

-Everyone is happy to see us.

-I've been driving them

-for about ten years.

-There's only been two occasions when

-the weather was too bad to go out.

-I'm sure I've done eight years.

-They sing quite well but have

-certainly improved in recent years.

-Do you think the tradition

-of carol singing has dwindled?

-No, I don't think so.

-No, I don't think so.

-Not in this area.

-and the local Young Farmers' Club.

-We have to choose a night

-We avoid where the others have been

-but always get a warm welcome.
