Hello, I'm Andy and I work here at Pickles Animal Park

and, today, there is a big flower competition going on.

Mr Pickles has asked me to water all the flowers in the park.

I think he's hoping to win again this year.

Right, better get on with it.

Right, Oh! These flowers look like they need a drink.

It hasn't rained for a while, so here you go, guys.

There's a hole in the watering can and all the water's leaked out.

Uh-oh! Mr Pickles isn't going to be happy.

Hmmm. I wonder what I can use to fix my watering can.

What, this? No, it's my new invention, Andy.

Ah! It looks a bit like a telescope, though.

Well, you look through it and everything seems bigger.

So, what's the watering can for?

I've just been watering the flowers in the park.

The only problem is this watering can has a leak in it.

And every time I get to the flowers, the water's gone.

You know what we need?

We need a massive rainstorm just like the ones

they have in Africa in the Okavango Delta.

Then the flowers would be wet.

-The Okavango Delta.

It's a place in Africa where, once a year,

the rain flows down from different parts of Africa

to make one of the biggest swimming pools on earth.

Animals come from miles around

to go and play in it. Even elephants swim in it.

Elephants swimming? Woah! That sounds amazing!

Africa, Kip. That's where we'll find the Okavango Delta.

Then the Okavango Delta it is. Go Catnav, go!

Right, here we are, Kip.

Looks very dry down there, Andy, and what's all that dust?

The animals have just arrived and they're kicking up the dust.

But where's the swimming pool you talked about?

-Don't worry, Kip. You'll get your swimming pool.

Look. I'll show you on the Catnav.

A lot of the year, the Okavango's really dry.

Then the rain starts to fall and then all the water travels from up

in the North all the way down here and gathers to form lots of lagoons.

Plants get a nice drink and then they come to life

and then animals travel miles to be here.

It looks like all the animals know exactly where to find the water.

You're absolutely right, Kip. Come on, let's follow them.

Can I borrow your telesc...? I mean super zooming viewing tube? Ha!

All right, what can I see? There's some zebra.

And it looks like the buffalo are in a bit of a hurry.

Where are they off to?

A-ha! Just as I thought.

They're off to the water. Ha-ha!

Oh, great view, Andy!

It is, isn't it, Kip?

That is all the rainwater arriving

and forming those beautiful little streams,

and that's why all the animals come here - to play and feed in it.

Oh, Andy! This is beautiful!

Ha! I told you it would be, Kip.

Oh, look at those beautiful flowers down there.

And they've got plenty of water to keep them nice and healthy.

Unlike the ones back at Pickles Animal Park.

Oh, what's that on the leaves, Andy?

Hold on. Let's zoom in.

That is a brightly coloured frog!

Come on, Kip. Let's take a closer look.

Look, Andy, we're just in time.

I can see the animals are just starting to arrive.

Look, Andy, they look like they're having a great time.

Those are lechwe, Kip.

They have got special hooves that help them

move easily through the water.

They've had to travel for miles to get here.

Oh, Andy, they look like lions.

They are. They've come for a drink of water as well.

Do lions have special water hooves too, Andy?

Er, no. Their paws are much better on dry land.

They won't be doing much hunting round here.

Oh, look! The giraffes have arrived as well. Wow!

I wonder what else we're going to see.

Oh, look, a really thirsty zebra!

Yep, you see, Kip, some of these animals won't have had

a drink for days, so it must be incredible to arrive here.

This is the swimming pool I wanted to show you.

And there's enough water here to fill about 12,000.

Look at them! They're all having so much fun, Andy. It's amazing!

Wait a minute, what's that?

Oh, they're baboons!

And they don't like getting their feet wet, Kip.

Well, you'd have thought, in this heat, they'd love it!

Time for your swim, baboons!

Now, that's a good idea!

Oh, it's lovely and cool in here.

Kip, here I am with the baboons

and they're eating some of their favourite foods. Look! Like flowers.

Oh, yeah!

Ha-ha! Looks like he's enjoying it.

Hang on a minute. They're tucking into something else as well.

Urgh! Snails! Hmmm. Not really my thing.

You wouldn't catch me eating one of them!

Hmmm! Where is he?

Ooh, that's not Andy. Hmmm.

That's a hippo!

He's making me sleepy!

Huh? That's a funny looking hippo!

-Ho-ho! It's Andy!

Hang on. Kip! I've been swimming with the hippos.

They're huge, look at them!

-Wow!

-They can hold their breath under water for quite a long time.

Longer than I can, anyway.

It says on the Catnav that hippos can hold their breath for 30 minutes.

really? That long? Ho-ho!
