Coming up today, find out what made me do this... | 6:32:13 | 6:32:15
Sorry! | 6:32:15 | 6:32:16
Why we're dancing like this... | 6:32:16 | 6:32:19
Oh! | 6:32:20 | 6:32:21 | |
How to make an Easter nest like this... | 6:32:21 | 6:32:23
Plus Eliza Doolittle is here to perform, | 6:32:23 | 6:32:25
and that's all coming up on today's live Blue Peter. | 6:32:25 | 6:32:28
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 6:32:42 | 6:32:46
Hello, welcome to today's Blue Peter. | 6:32:46 | 6:32:49
Now you can probably tell, Barney isn't here today. He's a little bit | 6:32:49 | 6:32:52
under the weather, so he's not going to be here. | 6:32:52 | 6:32:54
So get well soon, Bar... | 6:32:54 | 6:32:56
-Lindsey? -Yes, I just really miss him. I can't stop hugging his face. | 6:32:56 | 6:32:59
-We've got a show to do. -Oh, yes, sorry. OK. -Come here. | 6:32:59 | 6:33:02
We know that Barney will be back next week. Hi, Barn, | 6:33:02 | 6:33:04
-if you're watching. We do really miss... -Unprofessional. -Sorry. | 6:33:04 | 6:33:07
I just miss him. Something you are probably very excited about | 6:33:07 | 6:33:10
is the Easter holidays | 6:33:10 | 6:33:11
which means loads of eggs, loads of chocolate, and of course, no school. | 6:33:11 | 6:33:15
-Yes. -Yes. | 6:33:15 | 6:33:17
Some of you may have already broken up, some of you might be breaking | 6:33:17 | 6:33:19
up tomorrow, but whenever you are, | 6:33:19 | 6:33:21
we want to know what you're getting up to. | 6:33:21 | 6:33:23
Do you know what I love at Easter? My mum does an Easter egg hunt. | 6:33:23 | 6:33:26
She puts chocolate everywhere and I go round the house | 6:33:26 | 6:33:28
-stuffing my face with chocolate. -It's rude not to. | 6:33:28 | 6:33:31
What do you do, Radzi? | 6:33:31 | 6:33:32
Every year me and my family go to Scotland and as a Christian it's | 6:33:32 | 6:33:35
quite an important time, so we go to church and have a brilliant day. | 6:33:35 | 6:33:38
It sounds good. That's what we're getting up to, | 6:33:38 | 6:33:41
but we want to know what you at home are doing. | 6:33:41 | 6:33:43
So get online and let us know your Easter plans. | 6:33:43 | 6:33:47
At the end of the show, during Eliza Doolittle's performance | 6:33:47 | 6:33:50
we'll try and show as many as we can. Radzi, what are you doing? | 6:33:50 | 6:33:53
-Getting ready for the performance. -Do you want to explain to them why? | 6:33:53 | 6:33:56
-I'm in the zone. I'm limbering up. -You carry on limbering. | 6:33:56 | 6:34:00
This is all because earlier in the week we got the chance to dance | 6:34:00 | 6:34:03
with the cast of The Next Step. | 6:34:03 | 6:34:06
We did. And we got put through our paces which is why I'm limbering up, | 6:34:06 | 6:34:09
-but it was all for a very good reason. -Big time. | 6:34:09 | 6:34:11
Have a look at how we got on with Trevor, Lamar and Brittany, | 6:34:11 | 6:34:14
who play James, West and Riley in the show. | 6:34:14 | 6:34:18
Hello? | 6:34:27 | 6:34:28
-OK, so... -Where are they? -I have no idea. -Hold on. | 6:34:32 | 6:34:37
Are we even in the right place? | 6:34:37 | 6:34:39
I have no idea. | 6:34:40 | 6:34:41
We've come all the way from Canada to Britain to teach Radzi | 6:34:41 | 6:34:45
and Lindsey how to dance | 6:34:45 | 6:34:47
and I'm shocked - they're late. | 6:34:47 | 6:34:49
I hear this happens with them a lot. | 6:34:49 | 6:34:52
What should we do now? | 6:34:52 | 6:34:53
-I guess start stretching. -Yes, let's warm up, I guess. -OK. | 6:34:53 | 6:34:57
So we're late because Radzi is doing his hair | 6:35:02 | 6:35:04
and when we get there The Next Step cast are already there. | 6:35:04 | 6:35:06
'It's so embarrassing.' | 6:35:06 | 6:35:08
That was nothing to do with me. This hair takes care of itself. | 6:35:08 | 6:35:11
It's Lindsey and her make-up. Honest. | 6:35:11 | 6:35:13
-Hi. -Hey! -We're sorry we are late. -Yeah, it's cool. | 6:35:13 | 6:35:18
-It's only about half an hour late. -Well, we're ready to go, aren't we? | 6:35:18 | 6:35:22
-We are ready. -Good. -Awesome. | 6:35:22 | 6:35:24
They seem like nice guys. | 6:35:24 | 6:35:25
But honestly, looking at them, we've got our work cut out. | 6:35:25 | 6:35:29
So, Trevor, Lamar, Brittany, you guys are in The Next Step. | 6:35:29 | 6:35:32
So tell us a little bit about the new show. | 6:35:32 | 6:35:34
The show follows the lives of ten dancers | 6:35:34 | 6:35:37
and it's kind of a drama in how they strive to reach a common | 6:35:37 | 6:35:40
goal of winning this massive dance competition. | 6:35:40 | 6:35:42
-What are each of your characters like? -I play Riley. | 6:35:47 | 6:35:49
She can be very perceptive at times and a bit of a goody two shoes. | 6:35:49 | 6:35:53
-I just think me and Michelle should be switched. -I disagree. | 6:35:53 | 6:35:57
I think she needs to earn her place just like everybody else did. | 6:35:57 | 6:36:00
-OK? -OK. She deserves to be in the front row. -Riley. | 6:36:00 | 6:36:03
-I just want what's best for the team. -Riley. | 6:36:03 | 6:36:05
James is a really laid-back kind of guy. | 6:36:05 | 6:36:07
He's a cool dude. A little bit of a ladies' man. | 6:36:07 | 6:36:10
-Water bottle? -Yes. It's natural spring mountain water. | 6:36:10 | 6:36:15
Mm. Got it. | 6:36:15 | 6:36:17
My character, I play the character of West. | 6:36:17 | 6:36:20
He's kind of like the kooky, comedic relief for the show, | 6:36:20 | 6:36:23
so he does some crazy stuff. | 6:36:23 | 6:36:26
So you guys are actually going to show us the ropes today, | 6:36:30 | 6:36:33
-show us a few steps, a few moves. -A few moves? | 6:36:33 | 6:36:38
Some moves? These guys are not going to know what hit them. | 6:36:38 | 6:36:42
We're not just teaching you guys moves. | 6:36:42 | 6:36:44
We're going to teach each of you a dance routine. | 6:36:44 | 6:36:47
-Yes, and then you're performing it live in the studio. -No. | 6:36:47 | 6:36:51
Then it's going to be up to the Blue Peter audience to decide | 6:36:51 | 6:36:55
which of you two is best. | 6:36:55 | 6:36:56
-Me. I think it's me. -Team Radzi, Team Lindsey. | 6:36:56 | 6:36:59
So, Radzi, You will be with me. I'm teaching you a contemporary routine. | 6:36:59 | 6:37:03
-Team Radzi, bring it on. -Lindsey, you are going to be with me. | 6:37:03 | 6:37:06
-OK, what are we doing? -Some great dancing. | 6:37:06 | 6:37:08
Ooh! | 6:37:08 | 6:37:09 | |
This is going to be gold. | 6:37:09 | 6:37:12
And I'm going to be throwing some hip-hop into each of your routines. | 6:37:12 | 6:37:16
Nice. | 6:37:16 | 6:37:17 | |
Do I want to win? Of course I do. | 6:37:17 | 6:37:20
More importantly I want Radzi to do really, really badly. | 6:37:20 | 6:37:24
-Are you ready? -Ready as I've ever been. I used to break dance. | 6:37:24 | 6:37:28
I'm going to get you some break dancing right now. | 6:37:28 | 6:37:30
Lamar is going to give you some hip-hop. | 6:37:30 | 6:37:32
Start it off. Start with that right foot. | 6:37:32 | 6:37:35
Give me a "huh". Lean it back a little. Hah! | 6:37:35 | 6:37:38
Then, "boom." Break dancing is a really hard discipline to learn. | 6:37:38 | 6:37:41
It's taken me 12 years. | 6:37:41 | 6:37:44
Give me right, hop. | 6:37:44 | 6:37:46
'Honestly. I'm not sure she's going to do it.' | 6:37:46 | 6:37:49
In, back, go slide, step, step, boom, jump. | 6:37:49 | 6:37:53
Try and land facing the front. | 6:37:53 | 6:37:55
When you see what Trevor and Lamar do, I mean, really? | 6:37:55 | 6:37:58
So, up and pose. | 6:37:58 | 6:38:00
I'm struggling as it is and Radzi is not helping. | 6:38:00 | 6:38:03
RADZI COUGHS | 6:38:03 | 6:38:06
-He's putting me off. -Step... Are you all right? | 6:38:06 | 6:38:08
What? I've really got a cough. | 6:38:08 | 6:38:12
All right. So you're prepped forward, left foot front, | 6:38:12 | 6:38:16
just think that | 6:38:16 | 6:38:17
and then you just whip that in. | 6:38:17 | 6:38:19
This is going to be a stroll. Team Radzi | 6:38:19 | 6:38:22
has this one in the bag. | 6:38:22 | 6:38:24
-Yes, there you go. -Oh! | 6:38:24 | 6:38:27
-It's tough. -It is tough. | 6:38:27 | 6:38:29
Radzi might think he has the easier dance. | 6:38:29 | 6:38:32
Let's start from the beginning. Ready? | 6:38:32 | 6:38:34
But believe me, it takes years of practice and dedication. | 6:38:34 | 6:38:37
'He's definitely got a lot of work to do.' | 6:38:37 | 6:38:39
And double, out, left. | 6:38:39 | 6:38:42
-Any water, guys? -I know what Lindsey is up to. | 6:38:42 | 6:38:45
-She's jealous of my dancing. -I'll leave it there. | 6:38:45 | 6:38:47
We can drink some water after. | 6:38:47 | 6:38:49
She knows I'm going to win. | 6:38:49 | 6:38:51
I know what you're up to. | 6:38:51 | 6:38:52
They look thirsty and you've got to keep hydrated when you're dancing. | 6:38:52 | 6:38:55
Fact. Isn't it? | 6:38:55 | 6:38:57
I'm not even close to being ready. | 6:38:57 | 6:39:00
I can't fail, not in front of a live audience. | 6:39:00 | 6:39:04
I just don't know how we're going to do this. | 6:39:04 | 6:39:06
-Here we are. -Look at these outfits. Give a twirl. | 6:39:09 | 6:39:11
-Give a twirl. -In our outfits, we're ready to dance. | 6:39:11 | 6:39:13
We are indeed. There's a lot on the line. | 6:39:13 | 6:39:16
That's right. You need to get online after we've danced | 6:39:16 | 6:39:18
and vote for who you think the better dancer is. Me or Radzi. | 6:39:18 | 6:39:22
And the winner is going to take home the piece of artwork that is | 6:39:22 | 6:39:25
-the Blue Peter 2014 Dance Off Boot. -That is actually amazing. | 6:39:25 | 6:39:31
I really want to take that home. | 6:39:31 | 6:39:33
I've got to say I'm not feeling super confident for either of us. | 6:39:33 | 6:39:36
I'm nervous. I feel like we are auditioning for Troupe A. A-Troupe. | 6:39:36 | 6:39:39
A-Troupe. Me too. | 6:39:39 | 6:39:41
Three people who know exactly how that feels | 6:39:41 | 6:39:44
are Brittany, Trevor and Lamar. Please welcome them. | 6:39:44 | 6:39:46
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 6:39:46 | 6:39:50
Yes, welcome. Welcome. Welcome. | 6:39:50 | 6:39:54
Guys, Next Step dance troupe, thank you for coming in. | 6:39:54 | 6:39:57
Can I say thanks already for making us look quite bad? | 6:39:57 | 6:40:00
-And for those great moves. -You guys look great. | 6:40:00 | 6:40:03
I do have a really serious question. | 6:40:03 | 6:40:05
-How effective would my happy dance be? Check it out. -No, Radzi. | 6:40:05 | 6:40:09
You can't do... | 6:40:09 | 6:40:11
-I think you should stick to the "choreog." -Yes. | 6:40:11 | 6:40:14
You were not doing that. | 6:40:14 | 6:40:16
Now, you're first up and we've got the team headbands. | 6:40:16 | 6:40:18
You're going to be dancing with Brittany. I'm dancing with Trevor. | 6:40:18 | 6:40:22
Radzi, good luck. Take it away. | 6:40:22 | 6:40:25
Let's do it. Let's do it. | 6:40:25 | 6:40:27
Right. | 6:40:27 | 6:40:28
# We're gonna tear the roof off this place | 6:40:30 | 6:40:35
# You, you can hear the faintest sound | 6:40:35 | 6:40:41
# Don't even ask the DJ... # | 6:40:41 | 6:40:44
WHOOPING | 6:40:44 | 6:40:47
WHOOPING | 6:40:59 | 6:41:02
Radzi! | 6:41:02 | 6:41:04
-Yes! Linz! -That was amazing. Here we go. | 6:41:06 | 6:41:12
# Stand up. # | 6:41:16 | 6:41:18
WHOOPING | 6:41:18 | 6:41:21
# So you say you want to party... # | 6:41:23 | 6:41:26
WHOOPING | 6:41:26 | 6:41:28
# Let's get it started | 6:41:28 | 6:41:30
# Come on, everybody let's go | 6:41:30 | 6:41:32
# So we've got the feeling | 6:41:32 | 6:41:35
# Join us to the ceiling | 6:41:35 | 6:41:37
# So we've got the feeling | 6:41:37 | 6:41:39
# Join us to the ceiling... # | 6:41:39 | 6:41:41
CHEERING | 6:41:41 | 6:41:44
-Lindsey Russell, well done. -Do you know what? | 6:41:44 | 6:41:49
I'm really out of breath and I'm so relieved that is over. | 6:41:49 | 6:41:52
-Trevor, honestly, who is the better dancer? -Well, I mean... | 6:41:52 | 6:41:56
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Not playing any of those games, Lindsey. | 6:41:56 | 6:41:59
It doesn't matter what we think anyway. | 6:41:59 | 6:42:00
-It's down to you to vote. -That's right. | 6:42:00 | 6:42:02
We want you to head to the website, click on me and Radzi's | 6:42:02 | 6:42:07
face like that and go a little bit down. "Who is the best dancer?" | 6:42:07 | 6:42:11
And you decide. | 6:42:11 | 6:42:13
Radzi or Lindsey. Haven't got long. | 6:42:13 | 6:42:15
The vote closes in just about ten minutes' time. | 6:42:15 | 6:42:18
-That's all you've got time for. So get voting. (For me.) -Oi! | 6:42:18 | 6:42:22
Stop it. None of that, please. | 6:42:22 | 6:42:24
-Lamar, you did actually help us both out this week. -Yes, I did. | 6:42:24 | 6:42:27
I'm still recovering. How do you think we did? | 6:42:27 | 6:42:29
Honestly, you guys did amazing. You guys should be very, | 6:42:29 | 6:42:32
very proud of yourselves. You did an extraordinary job. | 6:42:32 | 6:42:35
Considering you guys are not dancers, | 6:42:35 | 6:42:37
you should be very proud of yourselves. | 6:42:37 | 6:42:39
Thank you to The Next Step for coming in. | 6:42:39 | 6:42:42
We'll see you a bit later for the result. | 6:42:42 | 6:42:45
-That was scary wasn't it? -Terrifying. | 6:42:45 | 6:42:46
Something that is even scarier than | 6:42:46 | 6:42:48
dancing on national TV for me is fish. | 6:42:48 | 6:42:52
Today I'm at a canal in Dudley to help out with a very fishy mission. | 6:42:54 | 6:42:58
One of these locks is going to be drained so that experts can | 6:42:58 | 6:43:01
get in and carry out essential maintenance work on the canal walls. | 6:43:01 | 6:43:04
And that means I'm going to have to do a fish rescue which | 6:43:04 | 6:43:07
basically means getting in there, catching | 6:43:07 | 6:43:09
and moving hundreds of fish down the canal. There's just one problem. | 6:43:09 | 6:43:14
I'm absolutely terrified of fish. | 6:43:14 | 6:43:16
-Hi, James. -Hello, Lindsey. | 6:43:16 | 6:43:18
You're in charge of the rescue today. | 6:43:18 | 6:43:21
-I am. -So what can I do to help you that does not involve fish at all? | 6:43:21 | 6:43:24
I'm afraid the whole process today is going to involve fish. | 6:43:24 | 6:43:27
What do we have to do? | 6:43:27 | 6:43:28
We're going to take the fish out, weigh them, | 6:43:28 | 6:43:30
and rehome them downstream. | 6:43:30 | 6:43:31
You are going to need this. | 6:43:31 | 6:43:33
While I get changed into my kit the team get to work draining | 6:43:33 | 6:43:36
the canal pound. | 6:43:36 | 6:43:38
Each year the Canal And River Trust look after 2,000 miles of waterways. | 6:43:38 | 6:43:42
Fish rescues take place to allow maintenance to be carried | 6:43:42 | 6:43:45
out on the locks, or to move fish to stop illegal angling taking place. | 6:43:45 | 6:43:49
OK, I'm going in. Oh. | 6:43:49 | 6:43:51
But how do we actually catch the fish? | 6:43:53 | 6:43:55
We're putting an electric field into the water. | 6:43:55 | 6:43:59
This allows us enough time just to stop the fish swimming | 6:43:59 | 6:44:01
and net them and put them in the bin safely. | 6:44:01 | 6:44:04
I keep this probe under the water all the time and then scoop up the fish? | 6:44:04 | 6:44:07
-That's right. -But it's not cruel to the fish. It doesn't hurt them. | 6:44:07 | 6:44:10
It doesn't hurt the fish whatsoever. | 6:44:10 | 6:44:12
It allows us time to stop them swimming, | 6:44:12 | 6:44:14
to net them and get them into the bin safely. | 6:44:14 | 6:44:16
Can we get electrocuted? | 6:44:16 | 6:44:17
No, these suits ensure that we don't get electrocuted. | 6:44:17 | 6:44:20
Phew! With that sorted it's time to face my fear. | 6:44:20 | 6:44:23
THEME TUNE FROM JAWS | 6:44:23 | 6:44:28
The worst that's going to happen today is we're going to get | 6:44:28 | 6:44:30
-fish about three to four foot in length. -That's my height. | 6:44:30 | 6:44:34
-I'm so scared. -OK, ready, guys? We're going to go live. | 6:44:34 | 6:44:38
That's right, we're fishing. | 6:44:38 | 6:44:40
There you go, there is a big fish. | 6:44:40 | 6:44:42
No! What was that? | 6:44:42 | 6:44:44
-Am I meant...? -Get your net. Get it headfirst if you can. | 6:44:44 | 6:44:48
I don't like it. | 6:44:48 | 6:44:50
Agh! It's so big. Get it away. | 6:44:50 | 6:44:54
I'm so scared. | 6:44:56 | 6:44:58
Ugh! That is massive. | 6:44:58 | 6:45:01
-Agh! -That's it. Get its head in the net. -Where has it gone? | 6:45:01 | 6:45:05
What scares me is that if we see a big one I can't run anywhere. | 6:45:05 | 6:45:10
'Come on, Lindsey, get a grip.' | 6:45:10 | 6:45:12
Yes! | 6:45:14 | 6:45:16 | |
There is another one. Six. Yes. | 6:45:16 | 6:45:20
Getting better at this with the small ones. | 6:45:20 | 6:45:23
There we go. Not bad for my first time. At least six in there. | 6:45:23 | 6:45:27
That's huge. That's a whale! That's a whale! | 6:45:27 | 6:45:32
Oh! Ugh! Oh! | 6:45:32 | 6:45:35
Yes! Got a pike. | 6:45:35 | 6:45:38
Yes, there we go. We've rescued him. We're going to take him | 6:45:40 | 6:45:44
down the canal. | 6:45:44 | 6:45:46
I think that's a pretty good effort. | 6:45:46 | 6:45:48
We've rescued more than 650 fish. | 6:45:48 | 6:45:50
The next job is to weigh and measure them and for this | 6:45:50 | 6:45:53
I've got some helpers. | 6:45:53 | 6:45:54
There's loads of different types of fish in there. | 6:45:54 | 6:45:57
That really surprised me. | 6:45:57 | 6:45:58
There is a lot. It's something I hear a lot as well. | 6:45:58 | 6:46:00
People are seeing a lot more types | 6:46:00 | 6:46:02
of fish than they expect to in the canal. | 6:46:02 | 6:46:04
-What's the biggest one you've ever caught? -A carp. -How big was that? | 6:46:04 | 6:46:07
-About that big. -Wow! | 6:46:07 | 6:46:09
We found eight types of fish in the canal, ranging from fairly | 6:46:09 | 6:46:13
small roach and perch, to the gigantic pike and carp. | 6:46:13 | 6:46:16
This shows the canal is supporting a healthy fish population. | 6:46:16 | 6:46:19
That's about three quarters of a pound. | 6:46:19 | 6:46:22
-Do you think I can get one out? -You can indeed. | 6:46:22 | 6:46:24
-How about you get this big fella here? -The big one? -The big one. | 6:46:24 | 6:46:27
Oh, gosh, that's slimy. | 6:46:27 | 6:46:29
Ooh! | 6:46:29 | 6:46:31 | |
Dropped him. | 6:46:31 | 6:46:33
-One hand under the head. -Oh, gosh. That is huge. | 6:46:33 | 6:46:38
Ugh! My hands are so gooey. | 6:46:38 | 6:46:40
-That's 540 in length. -There we go. Onto the scales now. | 6:46:42 | 6:46:47
That is almost exact only four pounds. | 6:46:47 | 6:46:52
That's a big fish. | 6:46:52 | 6:46:53
Then, with the fish weighed and measured, | 6:46:55 | 6:46:57
it's time to show them their new home, a bit further down the canal. | 6:46:57 | 6:47:00
So, guys, shall we get them back in? Is that a good spot for them, Becca? | 6:47:04 | 6:47:07
Perfect spot. Lovely load of canal, loads of water, | 6:47:07 | 6:47:10
they're going to be very happy. | 6:47:10 | 6:47:12
Bye, guys! See you later! They've been re-homed! | 6:47:15 | 6:47:20
Give them a big send-off. Bye! | 6:47:20 | 6:47:23
-ALL: -Bye! | 6:47:23 | 6:47:24
Do you know what? Considering that at the beginning of today I was | 6:47:26 | 6:47:29
scared to even hold anything bigger than a goldfish, | 6:47:29 | 6:47:32
the fact I've gone in that water with a dry suit on | 6:47:32 | 6:47:34
and managed to hold a pike is something I can be pretty proud of. | 6:47:34 | 6:47:37
That said, I'm quite excited to get back to the Blue Peter studio. | 6:47:37 | 6:47:41
Do you know what? I'm quite proud of myself. | 6:47:41 | 6:47:44
Thank you so much to James for helping me out and for putting up | 6:47:44 | 6:47:46
with loads of horrible screaming in his ear all day. Thank you. | 6:47:46 | 6:47:49
-Radzi, is that another fish I see? -It is. This wall | 6:47:49 | 6:47:53
is absolutely caked. This is from Katie. She is from Essex. | 6:47:53 | 6:47:56
Look at that huge fish she's got there. | 6:47:56 | 6:47:59
Little fish swimming about, huge pike, and Lindsey saying, "Agh!" | 6:47:59 | 6:48:02
Do you know what, Katie? I do not like fish but I love your drawing. | 6:48:02 | 6:48:05
Thank you very much for sending that in. Now, check this, Radzi. | 6:48:05 | 6:48:08
It's from Jamalia. We got sent it today. It is a mixture | 6:48:08 | 6:48:11
of everything we did last week. | 6:48:11 | 6:48:13
It's got owls and it's all done in tie-dye. Not bad, is it? | 6:48:13 | 6:48:15
It's a mixture, but it's a lot better than what I did last week. | 6:48:15 | 6:48:18
I've got to say, yeah. It is. Shaqil has sent this in. | 6:48:18 | 6:48:22
She's from Somerset. It's Barney and Miss Piggy. We love that a lot. | 6:48:22 | 6:48:26
-That is from a couple of weeks ago. -On the set of the Muppets. | 6:48:26 | 6:48:29
-How good was that? -Very fun. | 6:48:29 | 6:48:32
And, now, last week you met Atka and you met to Mumble, the two owls. | 6:48:32 | 6:48:37
Since then, we've been inundated with owl pictures. | 6:48:37 | 6:48:40
This one's a little bit special. It's from Zainab. She's from Derby. | 6:48:40 | 6:48:44
Look at that detail in that, all by one black pen. | 6:48:44 | 6:48:47
And she even got her signature just there. | 6:48:47 | 6:48:51
-Zainab is an artist of the future. -Wow! That's absolutely unbelievable. | 6:48:51 | 6:48:55
We did also show Barney blowing up a building. Have a look at this. | 6:48:55 | 6:48:59
It's from Isabel. She's ten. | 6:48:59 | 6:49:01
It says, "It will explode in three, two, one... Boom!" | 6:49:01 | 6:49:04
We like that a lot. Thank you so much for everything you've sent in. | 6:49:04 | 6:49:08
-Yeah, which they do every single week, without a doubt. -Thank you. | 6:49:08 | 6:49:11
And someone who's gone above and beyond with sending us in | 6:49:11 | 6:49:14
some amazing artwork, of course, is Erin. Have a look at this. | 6:49:14 | 6:49:17
These are all the Makes she's been sending us, all the little games. | 6:49:17 | 6:49:20
We have loved all of her work so much that we thought - you know what? - | 6:49:20 | 6:49:23
not only should she be Star Of The Week, | 6:49:23 | 6:49:26
we need to get Erin in to the studio to do a live Make. | 6:49:26 | 6:49:30
So, over to Radzi and Erin. | 6:49:30 | 6:49:31
Thank you very much, Lindsey Russell. | 6:49:31 | 6:49:34
And would you please give a huge Blue Peter welcome | 6:49:34 | 6:49:36
to our former Star Of The Week, Erin! | 6:49:36 | 6:49:38
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 6:49:38 | 6:49:40
Welcome. You brought your two friends, what are your names, guys? | 6:49:40 | 6:49:44
-My name's Athena. -And I'm Bethany. -Bethany, I'm loving your work. | 6:49:44 | 6:49:48
-Erin, you also brought your box of tricks along with you. -Yes. | 6:49:48 | 6:49:51
-The thing on top of this box I love. Can we see it? -Yeah. -Thank you. | 6:49:51 | 6:49:55
It's your board game that you made that made you Star Of The Week. | 6:49:55 | 6:49:59
You've got all the Blue Peter badges there, | 6:49:59 | 6:50:02
you have scorecards you've even made as well. | 6:50:02 | 6:50:04
It's absolutely fantastic. | 6:50:04 | 6:50:06
-So, girls, are you up for helping me with the Make? -ALL: -Yes. | 6:50:06 | 6:50:08
Brilliant. OK, first things first, what do we need to start this Make? | 6:50:08 | 6:50:13
-We need some coloured wool... -In fact, I'm going to stop you there. | 6:50:13 | 6:50:16
I haven't even told anyone what we're making. | 6:50:16 | 6:50:18
Because Easter is just around the corner. | 6:50:18 | 6:50:20
And that's why we thought this would be the very perfect thing. | 6:50:20 | 6:50:23
It is an Easter nest. | 6:50:23 | 6:50:25
Yes, sorry, you were telling us what we're going to need. | 6:50:25 | 6:50:28
We need some coloured wool or thread, and some balloons. | 6:50:28 | 6:50:31
-Perfect. -We need some PVA glue with a little bit of water in it. | 6:50:31 | 6:50:36
-How much water? -Only a few drops. -Perfect. And, Bethany. | 6:50:36 | 6:50:39
We're going to need some scissors or a pin to pop the balloon. | 6:50:39 | 6:50:43
-And, of course, the chocolate eggs. -Perfect. | 6:50:43 | 6:50:45
As ever, all the details are on our website, which is: | 6:50:45 | 6:50:52
So, it's time to get started. | 6:50:52 | 6:50:54
The very first thing we need are the balloons. | 6:50:54 | 6:50:56
Now, this... What have we started with? I can't get my words out. | 6:50:56 | 6:50:59
This is a latex balloon. The reason we've used that one is because | 6:50:59 | 6:51:02
it's biodegradable and it's good for the environment. | 6:51:02 | 6:51:05
You can use whatever balloon you want. | 6:51:05 | 6:51:07
The very first thing we do is blow it up. | 6:51:07 | 6:51:10
Now, it just needs to be a small balloon | 6:51:10 | 6:51:12
cos birds' nests are pretty small, after all. | 6:51:12 | 6:51:14
And if you have a latex balloon, make sure you have a tight knot | 6:51:14 | 6:51:17
because sometimes the air escapes, and we do not want that. | 6:51:17 | 6:51:20
Girls, you've already done that, haven't you? The next stage | 6:51:20 | 6:51:23
is a little bit messy. | 6:51:23 | 6:51:24
So it's worth putting some newspaper down and being a bit careful. | 6:51:24 | 6:51:27
So, we take our thread. | 6:51:27 | 6:51:29
And, as I've learned from bad experience, | 6:51:29 | 6:51:32
you need your thread to have no knots in so it is much easier to do. | 6:51:32 | 6:51:36
The very first thing we do is stick our finger | 6:51:36 | 6:51:39
in the PVA water solution. And we dip it on the balloon, like so. | 6:51:39 | 6:51:43
Then we take the end of the string, and that holds it in place. | 6:51:43 | 6:51:47
And here comes the messy part. | 6:51:47 | 6:51:49
We dip our thumb and forefinger in the glue. | 6:51:49 | 6:51:52
And then we simply drag down the thread all that glue. | 6:51:52 | 6:51:56
And then we wrap it around and then we simply repeat the process. | 6:51:56 | 6:52:01
Finger and thumb back in the glue, drag it down the string. | 6:52:01 | 6:52:06
-It's sticky. -As you can see, I'm making this a little bit messy, | 6:52:06 | 6:52:10
you girls are much better at this than me. | 6:52:10 | 6:52:12
-And you simply wrap it around. Girls, how are we getting on? -Great. | 6:52:12 | 6:52:15
My hands are covered. Stickily. | 6:52:15 | 6:52:17
And that's why you want to do it somewhere where you can clean up. | 6:52:17 | 6:52:21
-Have you ever done anything like this before? -I've done papier-mache. | 6:52:21 | 6:52:24
Papier-mache? It's quite similar, isn't it? Now, the next part, | 6:52:24 | 6:52:28
after you've done this enough times to have very, very few gaps, | 6:52:28 | 6:52:32
you'll have more time than me, it'll take about two hours to dry. | 6:52:32 | 6:52:34
And after it has set, | 6:52:34 | 6:52:36
you'll have something which looks like this. | 6:52:36 | 6:52:39
Girls, you are ready on cue. | 6:52:39 | 6:52:41
OK, it's time to take our safety pins, are we ready? | 6:52:41 | 6:52:45
Three, two, one. Pop the balloon. | 6:52:45 | 6:52:47
OK, that's what you call pear shaped. | 6:52:47 | 6:52:50
OK, that is... We're going to move on from that one. | 6:52:50 | 6:52:54
-But we're going to use... Erin, can I use your one? -OK. | 6:52:54 | 6:52:57
Thank you very much. | 6:52:57 | 6:52:58
Now, simply try and open up a hole in this one. | 6:52:58 | 6:53:03
With our particular ones, finding a hole is easier than it should be. | 6:53:03 | 6:53:07
So, we will then try and pull the balloon... | 6:53:07 | 6:53:11
In fact, Bethany, do you know what? | 6:53:11 | 6:53:13
-Yours is a picture of perfection, can I use your one? -Yeah, sure. | 6:53:13 | 6:53:16
Thank you very much, Bethany, you're saving the day here. | 6:53:16 | 6:53:19
I'm going to now pull this balloon, which is | 6:53:19 | 6:53:22
a little bit stuck, through the hole here. Now, I say pull it through... | 6:53:22 | 6:53:29
THEY LAUGH | 6:53:29 | 6:53:31
OK, I'm going to yank it for now, but you can be a bit more careful. | 6:53:31 | 6:53:34
And when you have a hole like that just there, that makes the | 6:53:34 | 6:53:37
perfect entry for your beautiful eggs. | 6:53:37 | 6:53:41
And, it has to be said, this hasn't been my finest work | 6:53:41 | 6:53:46
but it is really, really simple, if you have more time. | 6:53:46 | 6:53:49
And, if you're going to make one yourself, please, | 6:53:49 | 6:53:51
just take a picture and send it to us. | 6:53:51 | 6:53:54
Our e-mail address is: | 6:53:54 | 6:53:57
And we will try and include it in our Makes and Bakes section online. | 6:53:57 | 6:54:01
-Lindsey! -Radzi, you made me laugh a bit there. | 6:54:01 | 6:54:05
Now, I am a little bit nervous | 6:54:05 | 6:54:07
because at the beginning of the show, we asked you to get online | 6:54:07 | 6:54:10
and vote for who you think is the better dancer, me or Radzi. | 6:54:10 | 6:54:14
And I can now say the vote has closed. You cannot vote any more. | 6:54:14 | 6:54:19
The decision has been made. | 6:54:19 | 6:54:20
So, we're going to be finding out a little bit later who's won. | 6:54:20 | 6:54:24
-But we've got little treat, haven't we, Brittany? -Yes, of course. | 6:54:24 | 6:54:27
We have a sneak peek of tomorrow's The Next Step. | 6:54:27 | 6:54:29
-And it's a Blue Peter exclusive. -Let's take a look. | 6:54:29 | 6:54:31
-Where's the last place you saw it? -I had it on when we were playing. | 6:54:35 | 6:54:38
-OK, so it can't be far. -Let's look. | 6:54:38 | 6:54:39
I am so afraid I've lost this necklace for good. | 6:54:39 | 6:54:43
I mean, if we don't find it, I have no idea what | 6:54:43 | 6:54:45
Emily is going to do to me. | 6:54:45 | 6:54:46
She already kicked me out of the E-Girls. | 6:54:46 | 6:54:48
Riley just lost her necklace. | 6:54:48 | 6:54:50
And I kind of feel like it's almost my fault | 6:54:50 | 6:54:52
because I was the one that suggested to play dance Frisbee. | 6:54:52 | 6:54:55
-Guys, I think I found it! -Really? | 6:54:55 | 6:54:57
No. Never mind. | 6:54:57 | 6:55:00
-Don't worry, we'll find it. -I hope so. | 6:55:00 | 6:55:03
-Oh, it looks good, doesn't it? -It does. | 6:55:04 | 6:55:06
And if you want to see it, | 6:55:06 | 6:55:07
it's on tomorrow at 7:45 in the morning or in the afternoon at 4:35. | 6:55:07 | 6:55:11
-Only on CBBC, of course. -Linz, are you ready? -Not really. | 6:55:11 | 6:55:15
-I'm actually really scared. -I'm ready. | 6:55:15 | 6:55:17
It's time to find out who is the winner | 6:55:17 | 6:55:20
of the 2014 Blue Peter Dance-Off. | 6:55:20 | 6:55:22
-Lamar, do the honours, my friend. -All right. | 6:55:22 | 6:55:24
Drum roll, please. | 6:55:24 | 6:55:26
The winner is... | 6:55:26 | 6:55:29
..Lindsey! | 6:55:30 | 6:55:31
CHEERING | 6:55:31 | 6:55:34
-Well deserved. -I'm pleased with that. | 6:55:37 | 6:55:40
But thank you so much for coming in. | 6:55:40 | 6:55:42
We've realise just how talented you guys are. You are off the charts | 6:55:42 | 6:55:45
so thank you so much for teaching us your skills. | 6:55:45 | 6:55:47
And make sure you join us next week cos it's another jam-packed show. | 6:55:47 | 6:55:51
We've got loads going on. | 6:55:51 | 6:55:52
I'm going to be looking at some of the artwork of world-famous | 6:55:52 | 6:55:55
Henri Matisse, maybe you're learning about him at school? | 6:55:55 | 6:55:58
His great-granddaughter, Sophie Matisse, is going to be in the studio | 6:55:58 | 6:56:01
showing you how to make your very own Matisse inspired artwork. | 6:56:01 | 6:56:04

# What a waste of time | 6:56:59 | 6:57:02
# Precious little time | 6:57:02 | 6:57:05
# But I'll waste some of yours, babe | 6:57:05 | 6:57:08
# If you waste some of mine | 6:57:08 | 6:57:11
# What a waste of time | 6:57:11 | 6:57:14
# Precious little time | 6:57:14 | 6:57:17
# But I'll waste some of yours, babe | 6:57:17 | 6:57:20
# If you waste some of mine | 6:57:20 | 6:57:22
# There's a moment that feels like a nothing | 6:57:34 | 6:57:38
# Until it's passed away | 6:57:38 | 6:57:40
# There's a glow and it won't last forever | 6:57:40 | 6:57:43
# Think about it every day | 6:57:43 | 6:57:46
# I don't know what you see in me | 6:57:46 | 6:57:49
# I don't know why you stay | 6:57:49 | 6:57:52
# Cos you don't owe me nothing | 6:57:52 | 6:57:54
# But you give it to me anyway | 6:57:54 | 6:57:58
# What a waste of time | 6:57:58 | 6:58:00
# Precious little time | 6:58:00 | 6:58:03

# If you waste some of mine | 6:58:06 | 6:58:09
# What a waste of time | 6:58:09 | 6:58:12
# Precious little time | 6:58:12 | 6:58:14
# I'll waste some of yours, babe | 6:58:14 | 6:58:17
# If you waste some of mine | 6:58:17 | 6:58:20
# So you think that it's not really working | 6:58:20 | 6:58:23
# But, darling, look again | 6:58:23 | 6:58:26
# It's imperfect and that's why it's perfect | 6:58:26 | 6:58:29
# Other colours are so plain | 6:58:29 | 6:58:31
# You don't always see the best in me | 6:58:31 | 6:58:34
# And I don't know what to say | 6:58:34 | 6:58:37
# Cos you don't owe me nothing | 6:58:37 | 6:58:40
# But you give it to me anyway | 6:58:40 | 6:58:43
# What a waste of time | 6:58:43 | 6:58:46
# Precious little time | 6:58:46 | 6:58:49
# I'll waste some of yours, babe | 6:58:49 | 6:58:52
# If you waste some of mine | 6:58:52 | 6:58:54
# What a waste of time | 6:58:54 | 6:58:57
# Precious little time | 6:58:57 | 6:59:00
# I'll waste some of yours, babe | 6:59:00 | 6:59:03
# If you waste some of mine | 6:59:03 | 6:59:06
# See, I know what I got and it's setting me free | 6:59:06 | 6:59:09
# Cos anything that you want, well, I'm happy to be | 6:59:09 | 6:59:12
# Cos if I don't have your face then there's nothing to see | 6:59:12 | 6:59:15
# So, baby, please don't leave me | 6:59:17 | 6:59:21
# Baby, please don't leave me | 6:59:21 | 6:59:24
# Baby, never, never, never, never leave me | 6:59:24 | 6:59:32
# What a waste of time | 6:59:41 | 6:59:44
# Precious little time | 6:59:44 | 6:59:46
# I'll waste some of yours, babe | 6:59:46 | 6:59:50
# If you waste some of mine | 6:59:50 | 6:59:52
# What a waste of time | 6:59:52 | 6:59:55
# Precious little time | 6:59:55 | 6:59:58
