I just miss him. Something you are probably very excited about

is the Easter holidays

which means loads of eggs, loads of chocolate, and of course, no school.

-Yes.

Some of you may have already broken up, some of you might be breaking

up tomorrow, but whenever you are,

we want to know what you're getting up to.

Do you know what I love at Easter? My mum does an Easter egg hunt.

She puts chocolate everywhere and I go round the house

-stuffing my face with chocolate.

-It's rude not to.

What do you do, Radzi?

Every year me and my family go to Scotland and as a Christian it's

quite an important time, so we go to church and have a brilliant day.

It sounds good. That's what we're getting up to,

but we want to know what you at home are doing.

with the cast of The Next Step.

We did. And we got put through our paces which is why I'm limbering up,

-but it was all for a very good reason.

We've come all the way from Canada to Britain to teach Radzi

and Lindsey how to dance

and I'm shocked - they're late.

I hear this happens with them a lot.

What should we do now?

-I guess start stretching.

-Yes, let's warm up, I guess.

-OK.

So we're late because Radzi is doing his hair

and when we get there The Next Step cast are already there.

'It's so embarrassing.'

That was nothing to do with me. This hair takes care of itself.

It's Lindsey and her make-up. Honest.

-Hi.

-Hey!

-We're sorry we are late.

-Yeah, it's cool.

-It's only about half an hour late.

-Well, we're ready to go, aren't we?

-We are ready.

-Awesome.

They seem like nice guys.

But honestly, looking at them, we've got our work cut out.

So, Trevor, Lamar, Brittany, you guys are in The Next Step.

So tell us a little bit about the new show.

The show follows the lives of ten dancers

and it's kind of a drama in how they strive to reach a common

goal of winning this massive dance competition.

-What are each of your characters like?

-I play Riley.

She can be very perceptive at times and a bit of a goody two shoes.

-I just think me and Michelle should be switched.

-I disagree.

I think she needs to earn her place just like everybody else did.

-OK?

-OK. She deserves to be in the front row.

-Riley.

-I just want what's best for the team.

-Riley.

James is a really laid-back kind of guy.

He's a cool dude. A little bit of a ladies' man.

-Water bottle?

-Yes. It's natural spring mountain water.

Mm. Got it.

My character, I play the character of West.

He's kind of like the kooky, comedic relief for the show,

so he does some crazy stuff.

So you guys are actually going to show us the ropes today,

-show us a few steps, a few moves.

-A few moves?

Some moves? These guys are not going to know what hit them.

We're not just teaching you guys moves.

We're going to teach each of you a dance routine.

-Yes, and then you're performing it live in the studio.

-No.

Then it's going to be up to the Blue Peter audience to decide

which of you two is best.

-Me. I think it's me.

-Team Radzi, Team Lindsey.

So, Radzi, You will be with me. I'm teaching you a contemporary routine.

-Team Radzi, bring it on.

-Lindsey, you are going to be with me.

-OK, what are we doing?

-Some great dancing.

Ooh!

This is going to be gold.

And I'm going to be throwing some hip-hop into each of your routines.

Do I want to win? Of course I do.

More importantly I want Radzi to do really, really badly.

-Are you ready?

-Ready as I've ever been. I used to break dance.

I'm going to get you some break dancing right now.

Lamar is going to give you some hip-hop.

Then, "boom." Break dancing is a really hard discipline to learn.

It's taken me 12 years.

When you see what Trevor and Lamar do, I mean, really?

So, up and pose.

I'm struggling as it is and Radzi is not helping.

RADZI COUGHS

-He's putting me off.

-Step... Are you all right?

What? I've really got a cough.

All right. So you're prepped forward, left foot front,

just think that

and then you just whip that in.

This is going to be a stroll. Team Radzi

has this one in the bag.

-Yes, there you go.

Radzi might think he has the easier dance.

Let's start from the beginning. Ready?

But believe me, it takes years of practice and dedication.

I'm not even close to being ready.

I can't fail, not in front of a live audience.

I just don't know how we're going to do this.

Something that is even scarier than

dancing on national TV for me is fish.

Today I'm at a canal in Dudley to help out with a very fishy mission.

One of these locks is going to be drained so that experts can

get in and carry out essential maintenance work on the canal walls.

And that means I'm going to have to do a fish rescue which

basically means getting in there, catching

and moving hundreds of fish down the canal. There's just one problem.

I'm absolutely terrified of fish.

-Hi, James.

-Hello, Lindsey.

You're in charge of the rescue today.

-I am.

-So what can I do to help you that does not involve fish at all?

I'm afraid the whole process today is going to involve fish.

What do we have to do?

We're going to take the fish out, weigh them,

and rehome them downstream.

You are going to need this.

While I get changed into my kit the team get to work draining

the canal pound.

Each year the Canal And River Trust look after 2,000 miles of waterways.

Fish rescues take place to allow maintenance to be carried

out on the locks, or to move fish to stop illegal angling taking place.

OK, I'm going in. Oh.

But how do we actually catch the fish?

We're putting an electric field into the water.

This allows us enough time just to stop the fish swimming

and net them and put them in the bin safely.

I keep this probe under the water all the time and then scoop up the fish?

-That's right.

-But it's not cruel to the fish. It doesn't hurt them.

It doesn't hurt the fish whatsoever.

It allows us time to stop them swimming,

to net them and get them into the bin safely.

Can we get electrocuted?

No, these suits ensure that we don't get electrocuted.

Phew! With that sorted it's time to face my fear.

THEME TUNE FROM JAWS

The worst that's going to happen today is we're going to get

-fish about three to four foot in length.

-That's my height.

-I'm so scared.

-OK, ready, guys? We're going to go live.

That's right, we're fishing.

There you go, there is a big fish.

No! What was that?

-Am I meant...?

-Get your net. Get it headfirst if you can.

I don't like it.

Agh! It's so big. Get it away.

I'm so scared.

Ugh! That is massive.

-Agh!

-That's it. Get its head in the net.

-Where has it gone?

What scares me is that if we see a big one I can't run anywhere.

'Come on, Lindsey, get a grip.'

Yes!

There is another one. Six. Yes.

Getting better at this with the small ones.

There we go. Not bad for my first time. At least six in there.

That's huge. That's a whale! That's a whale!

Oh! Ugh! Oh!

Yes! Got a pike.

Yes, there we go. We've rescued him. We're going to take him

down the canal.

I think that's a pretty good effort.

We've rescued more than 650 fish.

The next job is to weigh and measure them and for this

I've got some helpers.

There's loads of different types of fish in there.

That really surprised me.

There is a lot. It's something I hear a lot as well.

People are seeing a lot more types

of fish than they expect to in the canal.

-What's the biggest one you've ever caught?

-A carp.

-How big was that?

-About that big.

-Wow!

We found eight types of fish in the canal, ranging from fairly

small roach and perch, to the gigantic pike and carp.

This shows the canal is supporting a healthy fish population.

That's about three quarters of a pound.

-Do you think I can get one out?

-You can indeed.

-How about you get this big fella here?

-The big one?

-The big one.

Oh, gosh, that's slimy.

Ooh!

Dropped him.

-One hand under the head.

-Oh, gosh. That is huge.

Ugh! My hands are so gooey.

-That's 540 in length.

-There we go. Onto the scales now.

That is almost exact only four pounds.

That's a big fish.

Then, with the fish weighed and measured,

it's time to show them their new home, a bit further down the canal.

So, guys, shall we get them back in? Is that a good spot for them, Becca?

Perfect spot. Lovely load of canal, loads of water,

they're going to be very happy.

Do you know what? Considering that at the beginning of today I was

scared to even hold anything bigger than a goldfish,

the fact I've gone in that water with a dry suit on

and managed to hold a pike is something I can be pretty proud of.

That said, I'm quite excited to get back to the Blue Peter studio.

Do you know what? I'm quite proud of myself.

She's from Somerset. It's Barney and Miss Piggy. We love that a lot.

It's absolutely fantastic.

-So, girls, are you up for helping me with the Make?

Brilliant. OK, first things first, what do we need to start this Make?

-We need some coloured wool...

-In fact, I'm going to stop you there.

I haven't even told anyone what we're making.

Because Easter is just around the corner.

And that's why we thought this would be the very perfect thing.

It is an Easter nest.

Yes, sorry, you were telling us what we're going to need.

We need some coloured wool or thread, and some balloons.

-Perfect.

-We need some PVA glue with a little bit of water in it.

-How much water?

-Only a few drops.

-Perfect. And, Bethany.

We're going to need some scissors or a pin to pop the balloon.

-And, of course, the chocolate eggs.

-Perfect.

So, it's time to get started.

The very first thing we need are the balloons.

Now, this... What have we started with? I can't get my words out.

This is a latex balloon. The reason we've used that one is because

it's biodegradable and it's good for the environment.

You can use whatever balloon you want.

The very first thing we do is blow it up.

Now, it just needs to be a small balloon

cos birds' nests are pretty small, after all.

And if you have a latex balloon, make sure you have a tight knot

because sometimes the air escapes, and we do not want that.

Girls, you've already done that, haven't you? The next stage

is a little bit messy.

So it's worth putting some newspaper down and being a bit careful.

So, we take our thread.

And, as I've learned from bad experience,

you need your thread to have no knots in so it is much easier to do.

The very first thing we do is stick our finger

in the PVA water solution. And we dip it on the balloon, like so.

Then we take the end of the string, and that holds it in place.

And here comes the messy part.

We dip our thumb and forefinger in the glue.

And then we simply drag down the thread all that glue.

And then we wrap it around and then we simply repeat the process.

Finger and thumb back in the glue, drag it down the string.

-It's sticky.

-As you can see, I'm making this a little bit messy,

you girls are much better at this than me.

-And you simply wrap it around. Girls, how are we getting on?

-Great.

My hands are covered. Stickily.

And that's why you want to do it somewhere where you can clean up.

-Have you ever done anything like this before?

-I've done papier-mache.

Papier-mache? It's quite similar, isn't it? Now, the next part,

after you've done this enough times to have very, very few gaps,

you'll have more time than me, it'll take about two hours to dry.

And after it has set,

you'll have something which looks like this.

Girls, you are ready on cue.

OK, it's time to take our safety pins, are we ready?

Three, two, one. Pop the balloon.

OK, that's what you call pear shaped.

OK, that is... We're going to move on from that one.

-But we're going to use... Erin, can I use your one?

-OK.

Now, simply try and open up a hole in this one.

With our particular ones, finding a hole is easier than it should be.

So, we will then try and pull the balloon...

In fact, Bethany, do you know what?

-Yours is a picture of perfection, can I use your one?

-Yeah, sure.

I'm going to now pull this balloon, which is

a little bit stuck, through the hole here. Now, I say pull it through...

And when you have a hole like that just there, that makes the

perfect entry for your beautiful eggs.

And, it has to be said, this hasn't been my finest work

but it is really, really simple, if you have more time.
