Hi, everyone. I'm Mickey Picker.

I'm Vicky Picker.

-I'm little Ricky Picker.

-We're the Pickers.

Ha ha! I'm Dizzy. What do you all do?

-We're pickers.

-Yes, that's what you're called,

but what do you do?

-Heh heh, it's what they're called, AND what they do, Dizzy.

-Oh, wow!

They're helping with the sunflower harvest, picking sunflowers.

We've been out all morning, picking up fallen trees for the build.

-Thanks!

-We'll use these trees to build the bunkhouse.

# We Pickers'll sleep there and harvesters too

# And folks who come visit can bunk down there too.

The Pickers are good at singing.

-They've been teaching me songs.

-You can teach us a song while we work.

# Lift the logs and lay them down

ALL: Yeah, terrific! It's great!

You did a great job, Lofty.

-A crane's a really important machine for a bunkhouse build.

It's time to get picking.

-Your bunkhouse'll be ready when you've finished.

Ah, the tuneful Pickers have arrived.

Because I don't want to be the star,

and sing on my own in front of everyone.

-You don't need to sing on your own!

-The music we play

is all about everyone joining in together.

-But...I thought that's what being the star meant.

-Ah, no.

-You're not the star in that way.

-How is Lofty the star, then?

Well, Dizzy, we play folk music,

-and folk music is stories about what the singers do.

-Oh!

Lofty's going to be OUR star, because of what he does.

Oh! Because we couldn't have built this bunkhouse without him!

Lofty was the most important machine today.

So, we'll be singing a song about him.

-A song, about me?

-Yep. We've been writing it while we've been picking.

-Have you been worried about this all day, Lofty?

-Um, yes,

but I was worried about nothing, wasn't I?

If you're worried about something you should talk to us about it.

Then you won't worry about something you don't need to.

I know that now. I'm even looking forward to the sing-along.
