'Welcome to Copycats.
'Today's Copycats are Alfie's team from the Vale of Glamorgan,
'and Liani's team from east London.
'And here are your hosts, Sam and Mark.'
Welcome to Copycats, where, unlike school,
we actively encourage copying the work of the person next to you.
We do indeed.
Coming to a Copycats studio near you -
we've got the televisual event of the year!
A story of friendship,
heartbreak and copying.
With starring performances from Quick On The Draw, Mime Time,
and featuring the critically acclaimed Music Round.
Will our teams make it past these obstacles -
battling it out in the Copycats challenge,
to get to the Ball Room
and play for the trophy of their dreams?
-OK, shall we meet the teams?
-Let's do it, OK.
Over here we've got Alfie.
-All right, Alfie?
-Yeah, fine, thank you.
-Excellent. You're team captain?
Would you like to introduce the gang for us, please?
Yeah, this is my...on my right, this is my sister, Annie.
This is my mum, Katie.
This is my dad, Stephen,
and this is my gramp, Nick.
-Excellent. And who's this?
-And this is my friend, Ella.
Brilliant. It's lovely to have you here. Are you excited, guys?
-Are you going to be good at Copycats? ALL:
-Are you going to win? ALL:
Yeah, I like it! Give it up for Alfie's team, everyone!
Over here we've got Liani's team.
-Liani - team captain.
-Would you like to introduce the rest of the team, please?
This is my best friend, Sephora.
This is my mum, Shileen,
and this is my auntie, Christiana,
and this is my dad, Dale,
and this is my best friend, Jessica.
Well, it's lovely to have you here on Copycats.
Give it up for Liani's team, everyone!
-Our teams look ready to go.
-They do indeed.
Earlier on, we tossed a coin which decided that Alfie's team
are playing first. So, let's play Copycats!
It's time for Alfie's team to display their artistic talents
with the aptly named Quick On The Draw.
-How are you?
Excellent. Here's what's going to happen.
You're going to pick one of these three cards.
You'll then have 10 seconds to draw whatever is on that card
to the player next to you.
That person will then pass it on, and so on, and so on down the line.
Now, if the drawing makes it all the way to the end of the line,
the team will get 50 points - nice.
But, don't forget, you will lose 10 points for every incorrect answer
-coming back down the line. Do we understand the rules?
-Copycats, are we ready? ALL:
Awesome. Let's close the doors.
Right. Katie, we've got three cards - pink, blue or green?
-Blue. Take a look.
Reckon you can draw that?
-I think so...
-Best of luck.
You have got 10 seconds.
Ready, steady, draw.
Annie May, your turn.
OK, Stephen, your turn.
Nick, take a look at that. Oh, he didn't even look!
I didn't even notice he weren't looking!
Just looking out... enjoying the scenery.
OK, Ella, your turn.
-Are you enjoying yourself?
Time's up. Stop drawing. OK...
For a maximum of 50 points, Alfie, what's the answer we're looking for?
A musical note?
-That's not the answer we're looking for.
Although that does look like a musical note.
Ella, we're playing for 40 points - any idea?
Like a tyre that you swing on?
-Oh, yeah, like you'd get at a playground?
Yeah, it's not, unfortunately, which means we're playing for 30 points.
Nick...you weren't even looking at what Stephen was doing.
Any idea what it is?
I'd say it's a pair of earrings.
It's not, unfortunately,
so we're playing for 20 points.
Stephen, take a look at Annie May's drawing.
A boat on the sea?
Which means we're playing for the minimum of 10 points.
Annie May, take a good look.
-What do you reckon it is?
an elephant's foot?
I didn't think you'd say that.
It's not an elephant's foot.
Katie, do you want to tell everyone?
But don't worry - it is only round one.
There's plenty more rounds to come,
so still some chance to get some points.
Unfortunately, at the end of round one, you don't get any points,
but give them a round of applause anyway.
-Dale, how are you doing, mate?
-I'm fine, thank you, guv.
Fantastic. I've got pink or green - which one would you like?
-OK, have a look at that.
Do you reckon you can draw that?
I'll have a...good try.
That is all I ask of you, Dale.
All right, the best of luck, mate.
Ready, steady, draw. Off you go.
OK, Sephora, your turn.
OK, Christiana, your turn.
OK, your turn, Shileen.
Jessica, your turn.
Right, stop drawing.
Very good copying down the line.
For a maximum of 50 points,
Liani, what's the answer I'm looking for?
Is it an ice cream?
It's an ice cream cone.
Well, we're not that horrible!
Congratulations. You get the maximum of 50 points.
Well done. Wahey!
So, after Quick On The Draw,
do Alfie's team need binoculars to see the trophy as it's so far away,
or have Liani's team got the opposition licked?
Let's look at the scores.
Mr D, what are they, mate?
'Well, Mark, after Quick On The Draw
'Alfie's team have no points
'and Liani's team have 50 points.'
Long way to go, though,
because it's time for our teams to step up and face the one, the only
Once again it will be my team that will be going first.
We don't want my team finding out what's going to happen,
so they're being banished from the studio. See you later.
-Off you go.
-Have a rest.
-Go on, go on.
Big news, Team Alfie -
all of you are going to be taking part in this challenge.
Are you intrigued?
-Oh, me too.
Let's find out a little bit more about it. Mr D, what could it be?
'Players must follow an illuminated path across the void.
'If they step off the path or onto the void
'they must go back to the start.
'20 points are awarded for each player across,
'with a bonus of 30 points if the whole team makes it.'
Are you ready to cross the void?
Are YOU ready to cross the void?
TEAM CHEERS Awesome!
OK, well, let's see what you'll be crossing today.
Oh, it's a lovely forest.
Best of luck.
-Alfie, are you going first?
-OK, here we go.
In three, two, one, go!
'Here we go, then - Alfie's first
'but everybody has a go at this.
'There he goes.
'Excellent. Treading very carefully.'
'But he's doing it right.
'He's demonstrating to the rest of the team precisely how you do this -
'just stay on the lit bits.'
Nicely done. Next one. OK. Next one?
'Ah, yes - sister Annie May it is.
'Her tongue's out with the concentration.
'She's going in the opposite direction, towards the jungle.
'There we are. Excellent.
'And then along towards Sam.
'Very carefully. Slightly faster. Excellent. Good.'
Oh, there we go!
'Heading in the right direction now, there we go.
'carefully does it.
'Love those laces - look at that.
'Here we go. Round they go.
'Quite a tricky route. Carefully!
'Now who is next? Oh, it's Dad, look.
'Here we go. Along he goes.
'Oh, no, you can't tread on that bit - it's not lit up!
-Sorry, yeah, you did step in there. OK, next one.
'Never mind, Stephen.
'Mum Katie, now.
'Be very careful, you mustn't tread on the bits that aren't lit up.
'So there we go. Along the back edge of the jungle.'
10 seconds left. Try and get to the end.
'She hasn't got long!
'Ooh, let's see how she gets on along this stretch...
'Oh, no, you can't tread on that bit!
Such a shame. Guys, come on over. Give them a round of applause.
It's harder than it looks, that, isn't it?
We'll add those points from that challenge to your total
after the third and final round.
Remember, Liani's team still need to play
and the scores from the Copycats challenge can make all
the difference in deciding which of our teams goes to the Ball Room.
But let's hear it for Alfie's team. Good effort, guys. Good effort.
Welcome back to the game, Liani's team.
Let's play Mime Time.
Liani, I've got three cards in my hand.
You're going to pick one of these cards,
you're then going to have 10 seconds to mime whatever is on that card
to the player next to you, which is Jessica,
and then so on and so on down the line.
All I ask for is silent performances.
As in every pass-it-on game, there are 50 points to play for,
but you will lose 10 points for every incorrect answer
coming back down the line.
But we don't need to worry about that
because we're going to get the full 50, aren't we?
Close the doors.
OK, we have got green, blue or pink, which one would you like?
-I'm going to go for the blue.
-OK, I can do this one.
-It's going to look a bit silly, but...
That's all right. We don't mind looking silly.
It's brilliant. All right, the best of luck.
Ready, steady, mime. Off you go.
Be careful of the door.
There we go. GO on, Jessica, your turn.
Now, Dale, your turn.
Brilliant, Dale, nice work.
Watch yourself, watch yourself!
OK, stop miming.
That was very, very entertaining!
OK, for a maximum of 50 points, what's the answer we're looking for?
It is...it is...
it is not.
OK, so for 40 points, any idea what we're looking for?
It's a crab! Yeah!
Well done. That was brilliant. That was really good.
That is one aggressive emu!
Got you! Get you!
You get 40 points. Well done!
Right, Stephen. We've got two cards left - pink or green?
-I'll go green.
-Take a look.
Reckon you can mime that?
I'll give this a go.
Awesome. You've got 10 seconds.
The best of luck.
Ready, steady, mime.
Ella, your turn.
All right, Katie, your turn.
Annie May, your turn.
Time is up. Stop miming.
Really good copying down the line.
Come on, this is doable.
Nick, for 50 points, what's the answer we're looking for?
Hitting a tennis ball up in the air with a tennis racket.
Oh, it's not. Alfie, come on - for 40 points, any idea?
Flipping a pancake?
Nice work, Alfie, we needed that!
You get yourselves 40 points!
So, after Mime Time,
are Liani's team being "shellfish" with the points...
..or did Alfie's team manage to flip their fortunes after that round?
It's time to check out the scores. Mr D, what could they be?
'Well, Sam, after Mime Time
'Alfie's team have 40 points
'and Liani's team have 90 points.'
Right, the next round could make all the difference,
because it's time for Liani's team to take on
the mighty Copycats Challenge.
So, Liani's team, this is your chance to add some
big points to your score. Are you feeling ready?
You look ready. I like it.
-They do look ready.
Alfie's team, you guys have done this so you can take a rest.
-See you later.
We'll bring you back, though, don't worry. Don't go too far.
-Give us three rings when you get there.
Little newsflash - the whole team will be in play for this challenge.
Mr D, what could it be?
'As before, players need to follow an illuminated
'path across the void without stepping off.
'20 points are scored for each player across.'
So, team, this is what you're crossing today.
Oh, now, Sam called it a forest -
I reckon it's a jungle out there.
-OK, Sephora, you're going first. Are you ready?
The best of luck,
in three, two, one, go!
'So it's Liani's best friend, Sephora, going first.
'Taking her time, getting her balance right.
'She's doing well.
'Concentrating a lot.
-'There we are, round that corner finally.'
'That's first one done.
'It's Dale next.
'Liani's dad, taking on The Void next.
'He's very smiley about it, isn't he?
'And very quick.
'Whoa! Nearly slipped at the end, there, but did well.
'This is Liani's auntie Christiana.
'How will she get on?
'Oh, she's very good at this.
'Look at this!'
-There we go.
'Very, very good and very quickly too.
'Next is Liani herself -
'Taking her time a bit,
'but that's all right.
'It's paying off, look.'
'Ugh - exactly!
'There she goes. Straight ahead. Marvellous.
'26 seconds to go, then.
'This is Jessica now.
'Come on, Jessica, you can do this.
'Using her hands to keep herself steady.
'Very good. Good work.'
15 seconds left. Come on.
'Looks a slightly trickier route, this.
-'It's the luck of the draw, though.'
-There we go...
'Head towards the back, towards Mark, and then off we go.
'Excellent. That's five now.
'Mum's still to go. She hasn't got long, though. Come on!'
Oh, so close!
Come on over. Come on over.
Wow! That was amazing!
Oh, give them a round of applause, come on!
-That was amazing! Well done!
Fantastic! Nice teamwork there.
We'll add those challenge points to your total after our final round
and find out which of our teams
have earned their place in the Copycats Ball Room.
Let's hear it for Liani's team.
Welcome back, Alfie's team.
This is the Music Round.
Ella, all you have to do is pick a well-known tune,
then recreate that tune to the person next to you,
which is team captain Alfie, on the Copycats kazoo.
As usual, there's a maximum of 50 points up for grabs,
but you will lose 10 points for every incorrect answer
coming back down the line. Are we ready?
Now, could everybody except Ella please put your headphones on,
so you don't hear which song has been selected?
Annie May definitely can't hear me, she's dancing the night away!
-I'm bored of this music now!
-Are you bored of it?
She's bored of the music! OK, well, we'd best get on!
Let's close the doors!
Right. Ella, I've got three tunes on three cards - pink, green or blue?
-I'll have blue, please.
-Take a look.
Do you know that song?
Erm, I think so.
I'm not sure.
Well, don't worry. We're going to play it into the studio.
So have a listen, get the melody in your head and then,
hopefully, you can recreate it. Let's hear it.
MUSIC: Easy Love by Sigala
OK, best of luck, Ella. You've got 10 seconds.
Ready, steady, play.
That was great.
Time's up. Stop playing.
Right, Katie, for a maximum of 50 points,
what do you think the answer is?
By Katy Perry?
It's not, unfortunately,
which means we're playing for 40 points.
I'm sure of this, though.
Yeah? SAM LAUGHS
It's All About The Bass.
It IS all about the bass, but
that's not the answer, unfortunately.
We're playing for 30 points. Stephen, any idea?
What Do You Mean - Justin Bieber.
It's not. It's not.
So we're playing for 20 points.
It's a really difficult one, this, I must admit.
Roar, by Katy Perry?
It's not Roar by Katy Perry.
So, we're playing for the minimum of 10 points.
I think I know it.
Oh, please, I hope you do know it! Come on, Alfie, what is it?
ABC 123 - Jackson Five?
I'm going to give you it,
because the actual song that we're looking for is Easy Love by Sigala,
but it is a sample of that song so we can't not give it to you
because that's what you played, so I'll give you 10 points.
MUSIC: Easy Love by Sigala
Well done. And well done, Ella,
not many people get any points in the Music Round, so congratulations.
You get yourselves 10 points!
OK, Liani. I've got two cards left, pink or green?
Which one would you like?
-I'll pick pink.
-OK, have a look.
-Do you know that one?
Well, we are going to play it into the studio so you can
get the melody into your head. Have a listen.
MUSIC: Cheerleader by Omi
OK, Liani, best of luck.
Ready, steady, play. Off you go.
OK, Jessica, your turn.
OK, next one.
For a maximum of 50 points...
Brilliant all the way down the line!
Come on, Dale. Come on, Dale. 50 points, come on!
Is it Cheerleader?
MUSIC: Cheerleader by Omi
Let's dance like we just don't care!
Oh, well done, guys!
That almost never happens!
You got a maximum 50 points!
'So, after three rounds,
'Alfie's team have 50 points
'and Liani's team have 140 points.'
Hey, it's been a corker of a show -
both teams pulling out all the stops in the cubicles,
but now it's time to find out who conquered The Void
and which team are heading straight to the Ball Room.
In today's challenge one team scored...
-Very good. Very good.
But one team scored...
We've added those scores to each team's total.
The team going through to the Copycats Ball Room
and playing for the trophy is...
Which means, sadly, we have to say goodbye to Alfie's team.
You've been a wonderful team. Have you enjoyed yourselves?
-Awesome. You've been great.
Give it up for Alfie's team, everyone!
Oh, I tell you what, Liani's team, great copying so far,
but are you up for one more challenge?
Awesome, let's go to the Ball Room!
you have come this far, but
can you go all the way and get your hands
on the Copycats trophy?
All you have to do to win it
is beat the Ball Room!
OK. Liani, team captain, who have you chosen to go into the Ball Room?
-I've chosen my best friend, Jessica, my dad and myself.
Before we open the doors and let you in,
let's take a look at how you win...
SAM SINGS ANGELICALLY
'The Ball Room.
'Players must collect 20 blue balls and deposit them
'in the scoring cylinder before the time runs out.
'Any other coloured balls collected will be
'deducted from the total.
-OK, team, are you ready?
Yeah, the best of luck.
Good luck, guys. In three, two, one...
-Blast the balls!
'Here we go, then!
'balls are going in already!
'A very quick start
'for Dale, Liani and Jessica.
'The girls moving around a fair bit inside the Ball Room.
'Dad's staying roughly where he was.
'Come on, catch as many of these blue balls as we can.
'We need 20 inside the scoring cylinder.
'That's what we're looking for.
'We need balls going into the cylinder. There they are.
'Oh, there's one on the outside. Did you see that blue ball,
'outside of the cylinder?
'We're going to count that.
'It's obviously bounced outside of the cylinder. That is all.
'Quite a few going in there.
'And again, look at this!
'Very good work by Dad,
'Jessica and Liani - little bit of catching up to do.
'A lot of smiling, though. Good fun being had.
'27 seconds left.
'Come on, as quickly as you can.
MR D LAUGHS
'Nothing in those hands.
'Need those blue balls collected
'and deposited in the cylinder, girls.
'That's how it works.
'Dad's enjoying himself as well, look. This is brilliant.
'10 seconds remaining.
'Will you have enough balls inside that cylinder?
'We're going to find out in a moment.
'Keep working until the very end of the game, come on!
'Quickly as you can!
'Wow, look at that!'
Ooh, good effort, guys.
Well, the balls have been counted.
The result has been checked and verified.
You needed 20 blue balls to win the trophy.
I can reveal you collected...
..24 blue balls!
-Well done, guys!
-It was close, it was so close.
But you did it, you did it, well done!
-..that's not all, is it?
Tell them what else they've got.
Oh, Copycats T-shirts!
I forgot about that!
Unbelievable, best day ever!
Nice work. Congratulations. What a beautiful way to end the show.
Yeah. We'll see you next time on Copycats.
