It's Driver Dan's Story Train!
-Hello, Driver Dan!
# Which of our friends are we going to see?
# Which of our friends do you think it will be?
# Climb aboard and travel with me
# All aboard the story train! #
All aboard the story train!
Oh, dear. Something's wrong with the Story Train.
Oh, no, Driver Dan!
Look, it's Bippity and the Vrooms.
Hello, Driver Dan.
Hello, Bippity. Hello, Vrooms!
What's wrong with the Story Train?
Well, it seems to have broken down.
Bip-bip! Broken down?
Yes, but don't worry. I'll soon mend it with the Fixatron.
WHIRRING AND CLANKING
Oh, dear. This is going to take a long time to fix,
even with the Fixatron.
We've got lots of tools on our carriages. Would they help?
That's a great idea, but, erm... where are your carriages?
Behind the hill with Sweetie's carriage.
Why are they all the way over there?
We were playing a noisy game
and Sweetie was playing her pipe, so we came here.
That was very nice of you.
How are we going to get the Story Train engine over there?
Ah, can you help me try and push it?
-Bip-bip! OK, then.
Oh, it's no use. The Story Train engine is too heavy.
We can't move it. Sorry, everyone.
I don't think we'll be going to Story Corner today.
I'd better tell Sweetie. Bip-bip. She'll be so sad.
She loves story time.
Oh, dear. Ah, well. Being sad won't get the engine fixed.
Let's see if there's anything else we can do.
Tighten this, and this needs to go here...ohhh!
Vrooms, I've had an idea, but I need your help.
-Are you feeling strong?
SWEETIE PLAYS PIPE
-Bippity-bip. Hello, Sweetie.
-Have you finished your noisy game with the Vrooms?
-Yes. We're all done.
Good, and have you seen Driver Dan?
It's nearly time to go to Story Corner.
Erm, I don't think we're going today.
What? Why not?
The, erm, Story Train broke down.
Broke down? Ooh, can Driver Dan fix it?
Yes, but not in time for us to have a story. Sorry, Sweetie.
SWEETIE PLAYS PIPE
WHISTLE BLOWS Huh? What's that noise?
Bippity-bip, it sounds like...
BOTH: The Story Train!
Driver Dan must have fixed it.
But where is it?
All aboard! Up here!
Great job, Vrooms!
-Stand by for landing.
Bippity-bip-bip. Come on, Sweetie.
With your tools, I'll have the engine fixed in no time now.
There...now, yes, that's it. Hmm. Bit tighter.
That's got it.
There! All done.
The Story Train engine is fixed.
It is. And thank you for your help, Vrooms.
I couldn't have done it without you.
Is there still time for a story, Driver Dan?
Of course there is, Sweetie. Come on, everybody. Let's get connected.
The carriages are hooked up and we're on our way to Story Corner.
-Are you coming too?
-Yes, please, Driver Dan.
What do you think the story will be about today?
-A fixing story.
-Maybe a story about being strong.
Maybe. Let's go and see.
-Who's ready for a story?
-Bip-bip! We are!
Ah-ha! I know just the book.
-Is everybody ready to listen?
Bippity-bip. I'm ready.
-And all of you? Sitting down comfy, ready to listen?
-Ready, Driver Dan.
This story is called Penguin On A Plane.
It was written by Hooda Shawa
and the pictures are by Muriel Abichaker.
The passengers on Flight PP241 had an unexpected traveller on board.
Waddling down the aisle came Penguin Po,
causing quite a commotion among the crowd.
"Look, it's a penguin!" cried the passengers.
"That's strange," thought Po. "Why is everyone so surprised to see me?"
Hee-hee-hee! A penguin on a plane! Bippity-bip!
That's nearly as strange as seeing a flying train.
It is, isn't it, Bippity?
Po stretched and flapped up high to put his bags in the locker.
The passengers clapped and cheered.
"I guess they've never seen a penguin flap before," he thought.
So Po flapped his wings up and down a bit more.
Po sat down and fastened his seat belt.
Along came the steward, pushing the drinks trolley.
"Ice, please," said Po, and he juggled the cubes in the air
till they landed, plop, plop, plop in his cup.
"Wow!" whooped the passengers.
"I guess they've never seen a penguin juggle before," thought Po.
So he juggled some more.
The baby in the next seat was feeling grumpy,
so Po got up and did a penguin dance to cheer her up.
Soon, the baby was gurgling and giggling again.
"Watch him go!" cried the passengers.
"Hmm, I guess they've never seen a penguin dance before," thought Po.
So he showed them a few more moves. The crowd went wild.
I like to dance, but not when everyone's watching.
-Ah, Sweetie, we don't mind if you dance.
-Thank you, Driver Dan.
By the time Po had danced his way to the end of the aisle,
people were waving and reaching out to shake hands with him.
"Please can we take your photo?" they called. "Of course," said Po.
"Fish!" He said, giving his biggest smile for the cameras.
Po was delighted to have made so many new friends on his trip.
"Hmm," he thought, as the plane came in to land,
"if they've never seen a penguin flap or juggle or dance,
"then I guess they've never seen a penguin fly a plane before."
"Wave to the captain," chuckled Po,
as Penguin Plane 241 took off on another happy flight.
-Did you enjoy that story?
Penguin Po was really funny.
Bip-bip, and I love aeroplanes.
And now it's your turn. Which parts did you like best?
Come on, it's time to show me the story.
-Look, it's Po the Penguin.
-A penguin on a plane?
-We can do a penguin waddle.
-I'm waddling too.
Just like Po.
-Look, Po's juggling ice-cubes.
-I'm juggling too.
They're cold and icy.
Let's do a penguin dance with Po.
Come on, dance and wiggle.
Yeah, crazy penguin dancing.
Come on, let's all move like Po!
-Take a picture!
Look, there goes the plane!
-See you later!
Well done. That was really good.
Penguin Po surprised everyone, didn't he?
Bip-bip, yes he did, and the Penguin pilot was even more of a surprise.
Just like the Vrooms flying the Story Train.
You mean, Story Plane! Hee-hee-hee!
Yes, that was a surprise. We wouldn't have had a story at all
if they hadn't helped me. Thank you, Vrooms.
-Thank you, Vrooms.
-Bip-bip, thanks Vrooms.
I'm glad everyone enjoyed the story, but now it's time to go.
ALL: All aboard the Story Train.
Bye, everyone. It's time to go.
But let's come back soon, because we all love stories.
-ALL: Bye, Driver Dan.
I like stories about animals.
I like stories about fish.
I like stories about rabbits.
My favourite stories are about lions.

The Story Train has broken down and even Driver Dan's fix-o-tron can't fix it. He needs to use the workshop that is on the Vrooms' carriage, but there's no way to move the carriage or the Story Train when the engine is broken. Then Driver Dan has a very clever idea for the Vrooms to use their whirly-twirlers and winches to carry the Story Train through the sky to the workshop.
