All aboard the Story Train!

0:00:410:00:45

Twinkle has spotted someone. Can you see who it is?

0:00:460:00:50

-There's Loopy's carriage.

-But no Loopy.

0:00:500:00:52

-Ooo! There's Hip!

-And where there's a Hip...

0:00:530:00:57

There's always a Hop.

0:00:570:00:58

Ooo! What are they looking for?

0:00:580:01:01

I don't know. Shall we go and find out?

0:01:010:01:04

-Hi, Twinkle!

-Hi, Driver Dan!

0:01:080:01:09

Hello, Hip and Hop. What are you looking for?

0:01:090:01:12

-Loopy.

-He said he'd be back soon to play with us.

0:01:120:01:15

But he's been gone for ages!

0:01:150:01:17

Oh! Hi, everyone.

0:01:170:01:19

There you are! We've been waiting for you.

0:01:190:01:23

Oh. Whoops! I forgot.

0:01:230:01:25

Sorry. You see, I saw Tallulah, and, er, well, er...

0:01:250:01:31

-And?

-And she wanted me to tell everyone something,

0:01:310:01:35

but I can't remember what it is.

0:01:350:01:37

Oh, Loopy, you forgot again.

0:01:370:01:40

Oh, sorry, everyone. So, what game shall we play?

0:01:400:01:44

Ooo! I've got a great idea for a new game.

0:01:440:01:47

Oh, yeah! You're going to love this, loopy.

0:01:480:01:52

Oh! I wonder what the game is going to be, Driver Dan!

0:01:520:01:56

I have no idea.

0:01:590:02:00

A carrot and a cup? Is it a drink and snack game?

0:02:000:02:05

Good guess, but I don't think so.

0:02:060:02:08

Er...a game of, er...bouncy bucket football?

0:02:080:02:13

No. It's a game to help you remember things, Loopy.

0:02:130:02:16

Oh, brilliant! How do we play?

0:02:180:02:22

There are five things here. We're going to take one away

0:02:220:02:25

and you have to remember which has gone.

0:02:250:02:28

-Have a good look first.

-Oh. OK.

0:02:280:02:31

Er...right.

0:02:310:02:33

Now, turn away. No peeping.

0:02:330:02:36

-You can look again now.

-What thing has gone that was there before?

0:02:390:02:45

Hm. One, two, three, four.

0:02:450:02:48

Oh! I can't remember what the thing was.

0:02:480:02:52

-Would you like a clue, Loopy?

-Oh, yes, please, Hip!

0:02:520:02:55

Oh, I know! The carrot!

0:02:550:02:59

It really has gone now, Hop.

0:02:590:03:02

I'll get a new one.

0:03:020:03:04

THEY LAUGH

0:03:040:03:05

Oh, please can we play again? I'll remember this time.

0:03:050:03:09

-Shall we play too?

-Yes, please, Driver Dan.

0:03:090:03:12

Look away!

0:03:120:03:15

OK, you can look. What's missing now?

0:03:170:03:21

One, two, three, four.

0:03:210:03:23

Something's definitely missing.

0:03:230:03:26

Oh! It's the, er...the...Oh!

0:03:260:03:29

I can't remember what the other thing was!

0:03:290:03:32

Hm. Can you remember?

0:03:320:03:34

It's the cup. The cup's gone!

0:03:340:03:36

Yes. Well done. Here's a clue, Loopy.

0:03:360:03:40

Oh, I'm thirsty, but I can't drink without my...

0:03:400:03:44

Cup! Ha-ha! The cup is missing!

0:03:440:03:47

-Yay!

-Well done, Loopy.

0:03:470:03:50

Ho-ho! Please can we play one more time?

0:03:500:03:52

-I really want to remember without getting any clues.

-OK.

0:03:530:03:58

-You can look now.

-Hm.

0:03:590:04:01

One, two, three, four things.

0:04:010:04:03

I know! The bucket has gone!

0:04:030:04:07

Oh, no! There it is.

0:04:070:04:10

Oh, it's no good. I just can't remember by myself.

0:04:110:04:15

Would you like another clue, Loopy?

0:04:150:04:18

Oh, go on, then. Yes, please.

0:04:180:04:20

You need this to paint a picture.

0:04:200:04:23

Oh, I know! It's the paintbrush.

0:04:240:04:27

Hooray!

0:04:270:04:29

A picture! I've remembered what Tallulah wanted me to tell you.

0:04:290:04:34

-What is it, Loopy?

-She wanted to take a picture of you all.

0:04:340:04:38

Loopy, we said the memory game would help you remember.

0:04:380:04:42

Oh, yeah!

0:04:420:04:44

THEY LAUGH

0:04:440:04:45

Phew!

0:04:470:04:49

-Hello, Tallulah.

-Why didn't you all come to the waterhole?

0:04:490:04:53

I've been waiting for ages.

0:04:530:04:55

Oh, sorry, Tallulah. I forgot what you wanted me to tell them.

0:04:550:05:00

But our memory game helped him remember.

0:05:000:05:03

Yeah. It's really fun.

0:05:030:05:06

It doesn't matter. Everybody's here now.

0:05:060:05:09

Are you ready for a picture?

0:05:090:05:11

-Oh, yes!

-Yeah!

0:05:110:05:13

That's great. Thanks, everyone.

0:05:140:05:18

Loopy, next time you play the memory game,

0:05:180:05:22

you can take a photo to help you remember.

0:05:220:05:25

THEY LAUGH

0:05:250:05:27

I see what you mean.

0:05:270:05:29

I nearly forgot. It's time to go to, um... Ooh.

0:05:290:05:33

-Story Corner!

-Well done, Loopy. You remembered.

0:05:330:05:37

ALL: Yay!

0:05:370:05:39

We're all hooked up, Twinkle. Are we ready to go?

0:05:390:05:43

TWINKLE TWEETS

0:05:430:05:45

Are you ready, too? Then let's go.

0:05:450:05:48

All aboard the Story Train!

0:05:480:05:50

We're going to have a story.

0:05:500:05:53

Maybe it'll be about taking pictures.

0:05:530:05:55

-Or a story about games.

-Or remembering things.

0:05:550:05:59

TWINKLE TWEETS

0:05:590:06:02

Who's ready for a story?

0:06:090:06:11

We are! Hooray!

0:06:110:06:14

I know just the book.

0:06:140:06:15

Is everybody settled down and ready to listen?

0:06:150:06:19

-Yes, thank you.

-Yes!

-Ready!

0:06:190:06:22

And all of you sitting down comfy and ready to listen?

0:06:220:06:26

Ready, Driver Dan.

0:06:260:06:27

This story is called, Brilliant Baisa.

0:06:270:06:31

It was written by Nathalie G Habib

0:06:310:06:33

and the pictures are by Michele Standjofski.

0:06:330:06:36

Sinjab Squirrel, Sammy Skunk and Baisa Beaver

0:06:360:06:40

took care of their comfortable cedar-tree home together.

0:06:400:06:44

Each morning, Sinjab scurried onto the forest branches,

0:06:440:06:47

giving them a shake and carefully collecting all the fallen acorns,

0:06:470:06:52

while Sammy swept the house clean with his bushy tail

0:06:520:06:55

and Baisa stored away the supplies.

0:06:550:06:57

I wish I had a big bushy tail like Sammy!

0:06:570:07:01

One sunny morning, Sinjab scampered home with a huge sack of acorns.

0:07:010:07:06

"Excellent," clapped Sammy.

0:07:060:07:08

"Now we must store them away."

0:07:080:07:11

"Oh," said Baisa. "Couldn't we just nibble a few now?"

0:07:110:07:15

"There'll be plenty of time for that later," chuckled Sinjab.

0:07:150:07:19

"We must finish the chores first.

0:07:190:07:21

"Your job is to make sure the acorns are put away in the storeroom."

0:07:210:07:25

"Yes, yes," said Baisa with a yawn.

0:07:250:07:28

"I'll just finish my little snooze first."

0:07:280:07:33

Ha-ha-ha-ha! I'm having a snooze, too.

0:07:330:07:37

Oh, Loopy!

0:07:370:07:39

That night, the wind picked up and howled through the trees.

0:07:390:07:43

Thunder and lightning lit up the sky.

0:07:430:07:45

Snow covered the whole mountain.

0:07:450:07:48

The next morning, Sinjab, Sammy and Baisa peered out at the forest.

0:07:480:07:53

"I won't be able to gather nuts," said Sinjab.

0:07:530:07:56

"Thank goodness we've got a big supply stored safely away."

0:07:560:08:00

"Oh, no!" cried Baisa, with a yell,

0:08:000:08:04

dashing to the storeroom.

0:08:040:08:06

"I forgot to put the nuts in the storeroom!"

0:08:060:08:09

Ha-ha! I wouldn't have forgotten.

0:08:090:08:11

All the acorns had blown away.

0:08:110:08:14

"But what will eat now?" cried Sammy, worriedly.

0:08:140:08:17

"We could gather fallen acorns from the mountain,

0:08:170:08:21

but we can't get there in this snow."

0:08:210:08:23

"I've got a brilliant idea," said Baisa.

0:08:230:08:26

She started carving away at a fallen branch with her strong front teeth.

0:08:260:08:31

The others watched as she worked. At last, she was finished.

0:08:310:08:36

Baisa had made a super sled.

0:08:360:08:39

"Wait here," she called, and off she sped.

0:08:390:08:42

All the way to the mountain.

0:08:420:08:45

It was very hard work collecting acorns

0:08:450:08:48

and carrying the heavy sack all the way back up the mountain.

0:08:480:08:53

But Baisa knew what she had to do.

0:08:530:08:55

"It's my fault we lost all our acorns," said Baisa to her friends.

0:08:550:09:00

"But I hope you'll help me eat these new ones."

0:09:000:09:03

Sammy and Sinjab couldn't believe their eyes

0:09:030:09:07

when they saw the enormous sack of delicious acorns.

0:09:070:09:11

"Thank you, Baisa," they cried.

0:09:110:09:14

"You're brilliant!"

0:09:140:09:15

The end. Did you enjoy that story?

0:09:150:09:18

-Oh, yes!

-Yeah! Me, too!

0:09:180:09:21

I'm glad Baisa shared the acorns with her friends.

0:09:210:09:24

Now it's your turn. Which bit did you like best?

0:09:240:09:27

Come on, it's time to show me the story.

0:09:270:09:30

I'm carrying the acorns.

0:09:300:09:32

Me, too! They're really heavy.

0:09:320:09:36

Oh, no! The bag is empty.

0:09:360:09:38

All the acorns have gone.

0:09:380:09:41

We've got nothing to eat.

0:09:410:09:43

Whee!

0:09:430:09:44

Let's slide down the mountain to get more acorns. Come on!

0:09:440:09:49

-Here's one.

-Let's pick up all the acorns.

0:09:490:09:52

I've got one.

0:09:520:09:54

We need to take some back up the mountain.

0:09:540:09:58

It's a long way through the snow.

0:09:580:10:01

Now there's loads to eat.

0:10:010:10:03

We've got lots of acorns back.

0:10:030:10:06

Well done. Thank you for showing me the story.

0:10:060:10:09

I don't think Baisa will forget to put the acorns away again.

0:10:090:10:13

She could play the memory game like we did.

0:10:130:10:16

ALL: Yay!

0:10:160:10:18

Glad you enjoyed the story, but now it's time to go.

0:10:180:10:22

-All aboard!

-All aboard the Story Train.

0:10:220:10:25

TWINKLE TWEETS

0:10:250:10:27

Bye, everyone. It's time to go.

0:10:270:10:30

But let's come back soon because we all love stories!

0:10:300:10:36

-Bye, Driver Dan.

-Bye.

0:10:360:10:40

I like stories about playing games.

0:10:450:10:48

-I like funny stories.

-I like bedtime stories.

0:10:480:10:52

My favourites are adventure stories.
