So, as you guys know by now,

you are really starting to learn how tough the music industry can be.

There's ups and there's downs, so what's the hardest bit for you guys?

Like, singing a song that you wouldn't usually sing.

So, like, adapting yourself to singing that song

and making it work for you, I think that's a really difficult part.

One of the biggest things that the kids have learnt

is they have to practise their songs.

We have seen a few crumble on stage so far.

One of the toughest parts for the mums is watching the kids perform.

But they're all handling it really, really well.

But, yeah, it's quite tough and nerve-racking watching.

Being a songwriter as well as a singer

can really help your career.

But where do the professionals find their inspiration?

Hey, we're Clean Bandit and you're watching "Got What It Takes?".

My main inspiration for songwriting

comes from anything that moves me.

Real-life situations, you know,

that's what inspires a lot of my songwriting.

Just make sure your lyrics are kind of true sentiments

that relate to personal experiences in your life.

There are only three end-of-show Sing Off spots available,

and two of them can be won in our Music Industry Challenge.

Evan and Becky have yet to be in a Sing Off,

so they'll be looking for a win.

'It's challenge time,

'and I think some of you are going to like this one.

'Singing other people's hits is one thing,

'but being able to write your own is another level.'

Me, personally, songwriting isn't my forte,

but I do believe it's important to co-write your own songs.

So, today's Music Industry Challenge is all about songwriting.

Since finding fame on the X Factor,

singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan

has had three top-40 albums

and continues to write her own unique material.

-Hello, everybody.

-Hello!

I'm Lucy Spraggan. And have you done any songwriting before? Yeah?

-One or two.

-Are most of your songs written from past experiences?

That's a really good question.

A lot of my songs are written about previous experiences,

either with me or something I've read about.

So what was it like when you finished the X Factor?

When you come off, maybe a TV show, you come off something big,

you walk into the industry on a high,

it can knock you down quite low afterwards.

If you're focused on fame, you're focused on the fortune of things,

I don't think it's a good way to think.

Focus on being happy within yourself and within your creative ability.

Lucy was telling us that there are lots of ups and downs

in the music industry

and that it is tough and just to keep doing what makes you happy.

Have you got a song that you can play us?

I have, yeah.

I wrote this song about an elderly couple

that I saw in the street while I was busking one time.

# Tom was born in 1942 with eyes of blue

# And the doctor said his birth was far too fast

# His heart stopped twice but yet he survived

# As he took his first breath his mother took her last

# And his father knew that he wasn't to blame

# But he never quite looked at Tom the same after that. #

cos this is something that I've definitely never done before.

comes from a music-loving family.

I've been brought up listening to all different kinds of music.

Like my dad's taste in music, my mum's taste in music.

Mum is Evan's number one fan, but even she needs the occasional break.

She's always telling me off for playing the guitar

and the drums too much.

When you are sort of wanting some quiet time,

it can be quite difficult to relax.

Evan gained attention at the auditions

with a performance of a self-written song.

My ultimate ambition in music is to become a singer-songwriter.

But it's really only been till now where I've actually thought,

"Wow, I could really do this."

I've just been telling her, you know,

13-year-old Becky first got into music

through a youth project in Leeds.

I'm a young carer, so a charity funded for me

to go into a studio and they've been teaching me how to play the guitar

and they've got me singing and performing and it's been great.

As a young carer,

she helps her mum Linda look after her disabled sister.

She has got Angelman syndrome,

which is a really rare genetic condition.

It was Becky's rocking performance in the audition

that secured her place at the Music Mansion.

Becky is even helping Mum get fit for the physical challenges.

My mum is not very physically active.

but then as I just got into it,

I think Amaria, when we were rehearsing,

started to try and put too much in there.

I think she was trying to mess with a good thing,

so I think it's probably a good idea for her to relax

and just stick to what she has rehearsed now

David has rehearsed our three finalists the best he can.

the best Sing Off we've had so far, in my opinion.

You've got to kind of focus on your own performance

and make sure it's the best that it can be,

and I'm really proud of all of them for doing that.
