Episode 11 Help! My Supply Teacher Is Magic

CBBC have sent these four magicians back to school.

They're pretending to be supply teachers

so that they can perform amazing magic on unsuspecting classes.

But because you know and love them,

this time, we've cunningly disguised them.

This is Katherine.

She's got a black belt in magic and she's not afraid to use it.

The disguise is on.

The hidden cameras are set. Enter Year 4.

They don't know it yet, but they're about to get

an amazing lesson in the ancient art of Zen concentration

that will blow their minds.

So, today, we are learning about concentration.

We're going to do an exercise which will make our concentration better.

If you get to have mastery over your mind,

you can do the most amazing things. That's what we're doing today.

Make sure you're comfortable. Your legs are crossed.

Gently place your hands in your lap, so you're relaxed.

That's brilliant.

And I'm going to sit up here in the same position, like this,

with my legs crossed, like you are...

and with my hands just rested on my knees, like this.

I'd like you all to take a nice, deep breath

in through your nose... and out through your mouth.

Now, this time, what I'd like you to do is take

a deep breath through your nose and then I want you to go,

"Om."

The class think that "om" noise is to help them concentrate,

but something amazing is about to happen.

Brilliant, and keep your focus on your "om" sounds and your breathing.

and he's going to help us by ringing the chime, like this.

That just reminds you I want you to continue with that "om" sound.

That's not Katherine's friend. It's her magician's assistant.

So, again, breathe in through your nose. Om.

Keep your om-ing, guys. That's brilliant. Keep your focus.

Make sure you're focused on your breathing.

It looks like she's holding herself up by those poles in mid-air,

but the trick's not over yet.

-ALL:

-Om.

And stop.

Now, if you focus on me, I should be able to let go,

so make sure all your attention is on me. Ready?

CHILDREN ALL TALK AT ONCE

Look - no hands! Katherine is literally floating in mid-air!

Keep your concentration up, keep breathing.

That's really good. Keep on breathing.

-ALL:

-Om.

Katherine's coming back down,

but the class will go through the roof

when she lets them in on her secret.

Keep breathing, keep your focus up.

And stop.

OK. So... that was incredible, wasn't it?

-CHILDREN:

-Yes!

But I'm going to have to be honest.

That wasn't just mastery over mind,

that was actually a magic trick,

because right now, you are all being filmed.
