Beneath the American prairies, deep underground,

the little prairie dogs are stirring.

Come on, little prairie dogs, wake up!

It's time to tell a story of life on the prairies.

All the prairie animals seem to have woken up in a very playful mood.

No school today. It's Saturday, so Sage and younger brother Tate

have a whole day of fun ahead.

Sage is wide awake and ready to play.

Morning, everyone! Oh! All the prairie dogs must still be asleep!

Come on, Tate, I want to play prairie games!

Oh, Sage, why are you always so awake first thing in the morning?

I need time to wake up!

-You'll wake up while we're running around, Tate.

I want to play Musical Statues, that's my favourite.

We can't play that yet, Tate. Look, no-one's up yet.

We'll have to wait. While we're waiting, how about we play You're It?

Oh, Sage, you're too quick and your legs are longer!

What are they playing? It looks like a lot of fun.

They're playing Hide and Seek, in their town.

Let's stay here and spy on them.

So Sage and Tate peer over the hill and spy on their cousins,

Snow and Ashki, playing Hide and Seek.

I'll count first, Snow, and you can go and hide.

SNOW: GREAT! I love hiding!

I'm going to stand behind this tree-stump, and count to 100.

-Good luck finding an empty burrow to hide in.

-I don't need luck!

I'm going to find somewhere really good, where you'll never find me!

Over there! I can hide in that hole in the ground!

Ashki will never find me there.

Oh, no, that's no good, there's someone in it.

The owl got there first.

There's no way I can hide there.

I'll have to find somewhere else...

-..and quick!

Oh, no, I have to find somewhere!

-..29, 30, 31...

-Quick! Inside that mound! That looks like a good place.

Wait, what's that rattling sound?!

ARGH! Silly me!

I should have known that rattling was a rattlesnake!

-He won't want to share his burrow with me!

-Oh, no!

If I don't find somewhere, Ashki will come looking and I won't be hidden!

Well, what about here? I'll hide in here!

Oh, no, a spider has blocked the entrance with his big, sticky web!

I can't even get in there! Why are all the burrows busy?!

-That one!

It has to be the one, if it has no owls, snakes or spiders!

-Oh, at last. Ashki will never find me in here.

Here I come, ready or not!

Perfect!

Hmm, I wonder which way he went?

He could be anywhere.

Oh, I need to get up high

and look out.

I can't see him yet.

It took me ages to find somewhere to hide.

All the burrows had animals living in them, like you said.

-There was no room for me.

Wow, Snow and Ashki's Hide And Seek looks great fun!

They're lucky cos they've got those tall burrows

to hide behind.

Our burrows are smaller. We'll have to come up with another game.

I know, I know, Musical Statues!

Look, Tate.

The whole town has woken up, so we can play Musical Statues now.

-Let's round everyone up.

-Hooray!

-Hey, guys!

-Who wants to play Musical Statues?

BOTH: Come on!

I want to play.

OK, I'll be the judge.

When the music starts, you all have to run

as fast as you can and when it stops...stand as still as statues.
