Episode 12 Mission: 2110

-Previously on 2110:

-Earth may have been crushed by the Roboidz,

but now the Resistance is strong.

The only way to defeat the Roboidz is by taking away their power

by stealing their bio rods.

-I can't find it!

-The guard was disturbed! All recruits get out!

We have to clear this area of toxic catalysts to avert this explosion.

-I see a few.

-Get them all!

Prepare for the deadliest of missions - the Vaporiser.

You've made a serious error and will now be vaporised.

They're strong, almost unstoppable,

but we can take back Earth if we work together.

This is Mission: 2110!

Roboidz are strong, so-called intelligent machines.

We built them to help us, but we didn't think it through.

One day they turned on us and now we run from them.

Well, most of us do. Gotcha!

Bio rods! Fuel cells that keep the can heads moving!

Get enough of these and it stops them in their tracks.

I'm Caleb. Leader of the Resistance.

This is now a heap of junk and THIS is Mission: 2110!

So my final gang of four

have become three with Nick crumbled to nothing by the Vaporiser.

-You must be chuffed you survived.

-Of course. Wouldn't you be?

I am. I did. Have you any idea how tough these next four missions get?

Two more of you will be chewed up and spat out. Think you'll survive?

No doubt - I'm the best recruit.

Big talk.

But we're fighting an army led by Neuros.

Last time I saw it, it was a big tube full of gunk and goo

-and tentacles oozing. Sound like anyone you know?

Charming(!) I can tell you only Neuros is uglier than the Roboidz

and stinkier than the Shades. That's why I need

only the finest recruits.

To make it harder, all of your bio rod scores are reduced to zero.

-Still up for it?

-ALL: Yes!

-Ready to kick metallic booty?

-ALL: Yes!

-Who wants a go with the pointy stick?

-Me!

-Pathetic! I don't sound anything like that.

On to the next mission!

It's hotting up in Cargo Hold 3.

You're about to face three of the toughest Roboidz around.

The Workers, otherwise known as the Drone class.

These heavy metal monsters do all the jobs that no one else wants.

This mission is called Flame Thrower. You're not throwing flames,

just these aerodynamic projectiles

over the heads of the Workers and into those caged containers.

For every hit, collect one bio rod, up to a maximum of three.

But this is a timed mission. When you have just 30 seconds left,

the Workers will start to close in. Be ready to make a quick exit.

Good luck, recruits. Get lobbing.

-Mission on!

-OK, recruits. Get throwing!

Three bio rods each up for grabs,

but you have to get them before the Workers crash forwards.

You need to aim better, Rhiann!

-Great aim, Jodie! Grab your first bio rod.

When I heard the bio rod scores were back to zero, I thought, "Oh, no!"

but then I thought it was a chance to get ahead of Jodie or Rhiann,

but I haven't yet.

I had a really good chance to get in the lead.

I think I've done that quite well. We're tied, but that will change.

I'm off to a good start. I've got three bio rods.

I'm just so happy with myself.

It was a wee bit off-putting, but nothing can distract me.

Welcome to the Resistance and one of my final logs.

I've been trying to understand what makes my recruits tick

in their world of 100 years ago.

According to the Book of Archive, "pop music" was all the rage

in the early 21st century. I've never heard of music.

Sounds nice, though. And it says there were "computer games"

where young people battled robots. For fun!

And the sound effect was "Pew pew!"

Pew pew!

Sounds ridiculous. Anyway, they have another think coming

if they think battling Roboidz is fun. No, siree.

In 2110 it's life and death.

Pew pew! Pew pew? Pew!

Excellent work, recruits. Jodie, Rhiann, you did really well.

Poppy, you didn't get any bio rods, but you didn't give up.

This mission is all about the Shades. You can probably smell them.

Cargo hold 4 is crawling with the stinking blighters.

The by-product of the Roboidz destruction of the human race,

they now serve their mechanical masters. They will never attack you,

but will try to make life difficult. You must never touch them.

There are five bio rods to retrieve in this next mission,

which I call Shade Grid. It's a test of your logic,

involving these coloured bars and circuit blocks.

The grid is made up of 12 squares which can only be formed

by locking the bars into position.

You're looking to box in the Shades.

Enclose one to release one bio rod.

-But be very careful. Understood?

-Yes!

-OK, good luck.

Plan your moves carefully.

Five Shades guarding five bio rods.

You have to lock in a Shade to unlock one bio rod.

Each recruit places their coloured bar in position, one at a time.

Think logically and plan ahead.

Think about what the other recruits will do next. Don't be hasty.

Think carefully.

Remember, recruits, if you complete a square, you can move again.

Box in a Shade to release a bio rod.

Five bio rods are available, so this could be very good news.

Those Shades haven't washed in over 40 years.

but that was the only place I could go. I'm fairly annoyed with that.

before you go face-to-face with the dreaded Vaporiser again.

This is the combat training facility where Roboidz are turned

into hardened tools of destruction. This one here is no exception.

The most menacing and fierce of all Roboidz - the battle class variety,

otherwise known as Wardroidz. They don't care how much noise they make.

I'm sending you guys, one by one, into the battle zone

to confront him face-to-face. Show me some battle moves.

Yeah. Good.

Your mission is to grab three bio rods from the far end of the room

and swap them into the power boxes.

This will reverse the polarity, making the can head short circuit.

Get all three and it will shut down, letting you grab a fourth bio rod.

You must outpace, outclass and outwit the Roboid at every turn.

If you step onto or over the hazard markings, you're out of the mission.

That Wardroid is ferocious, so be careful.

The aim of this mission is to reverse the polarity of the power

to short circuit that Wardroid.

to get around him.

I could use the time portal to go back and find my stick!

Where's the hero Caleb we all know and love?

Who do I think I am?

OK, recruits. We've been here before.

The deadliest of missions.

The Vaporiser takes no prisoners and two of you will fail,

leaving 2110 for good.

Only one of you will remain to join me in the final phase.

You are going to be facing the stinky, spooky, scary Shade.

You must never touch one or you will be automatically vaporised.

You will take up positions on the far corners of the grid.

In the centre is your holy grail -

a bio rod packed with so much energy it will guide my successful recruit

to our final quest to shut down the Roboid Empire.

You will go across one step at a time.

The Shades will also take one step each, but unlike before

but you will have no way of knowing in which direction they'll move.

That will be determined by the Vaporiser.

If you have to step into a space occupied by a Shade

or allow them to step into yours, then it's mission over.

And you will not have your panic buttons to escape.

Jodie, with the most bio rods, you will take the first step,

followed by Rhiann, then Poppy.

I'll be closer to the bio rod. If I go right,

it might be a safer option, but I'm a daredevil so I'm going to go left.

-I'm normally quite a big daredevil,

but today I'm going to go for the safest route and go right.

I think I'm going to go right because it's safer. Right.

The Vaporiser has turned green. That's a right move for the Shades.

They move in formation to protect it from you recruits.

I think I'm going to go forward to get closer to the bio rod.

collected a staggering 20 bio rods and took down a few of the enemy.

As for those other two recruits, they did their duty well.

Maybe one day we'll find out if they landed back safely.
