-Do you have a dog?

0:00:530:00:55

-Do you know someone who has a dog?

0:00:550:00:58

-I have a friend called Tony.

0:00:580:01:01

-He had a dog called Mr Morris.

0:01:010:01:04

-Mr Morris lived in a seaside town

-called Porthywawr with Tony...

0:01:050:01:12

-..his wife Delia...

0:01:120:01:13

-..and a lazy, snooty cat...

0:01:140:01:16

-..called Jini Jinks.

0:01:160:01:18

-She would ignore Mr Morris

-and hated his bark.

0:01:190:01:22

-Today was a wonderful day.

0:01:270:01:30

-Off went Mr Morris for a walk.

0:01:300:01:34

-He said a happy hello

-to Gwenan and Alun...

0:02:000:02:03

-..who were waiting

-for the school bus.

0:02:030:02:05

-"Shake hands, Mr Morris,"

-they said, and he did.

0:02:060:02:09

-Gwenan and Alun

-loved seeing him do that.

0:02:090:02:12

-On to the prom he went.

0:02:210:02:23

-Mr and Mrs Williams were

-in the middle of their daily jog...

0:02:230:02:28

-..wearing their yellow tracksuits.

0:02:280:02:30

-"Hello, Mr Morris," they shouted.

0:02:300:02:33

-"Are you coming with us?"

0:02:340:02:36

-Mr Morris jogged with them

-along the prom.

0:02:360:02:40

-When they reached Mackerel Bay...

0:02:470:02:49

-..Mr Morris visited Captain Billy,

-the fisherman.

0:02:500:02:54

-"There you are, Mr Morris.

0:02:540:02:56

-"Do you fancy a bowl of water

-after all that jogging?" he asked.

0:02:560:03:01

-"Yes, please," replied Mr Morris.

0:03:010:03:06

-"Here you go, down the hatch...

0:03:060:03:09

-"..and we'll see if this old boat

-is working today."

0:03:090:03:14

-As soon as the bowl was empty, they

-both boarded the fishing boat...

0:03:180:03:24

-..and went around the bay.

0:03:240:03:28

-Mr Morris liked standing

-at the front of the boat...

0:03:300:03:34

-..with the wind

-in his shabby brown coat.

0:03:340:03:37

-He would bark "good morning"

-to the seagulls.

0:03:370:03:40

-They would all shout back,

-"How are you, how are you?"

0:03:410:03:46

-"You'd better go now,"

-said Mr Morris to Captain Billy.

0:03:460:03:50

-"Mr Price the butcher

-will be waiting for you."

0:03:500:03:54

-"Aye-aye, Captain," said Mr Morris.

0:03:550:03:57

-"Thanks for the ride."

0:03:570:03:59

-As Mr Morris headed to town...

0:04:010:04:04

-..he wished Mrs Celyn the florist

-and Miss Agnes the postmistress...

0:04:040:04:09

-..a good day.

0:04:090:04:11

-He reached the butcher's shop

-and barked, "Good morning!"

0:04:110:04:17

-"Dear me, Mr Morris! How are you,

-my faithful little friend?"

0:04:170:04:24

-Mr Price disappeared

-to the back room for two minutes.

0:04:280:04:32

-He reappeared with a huge bone.

0:04:320:04:35

-Mr Morris thanked him

-and Mr Price laughed heartily.

0:04:350:04:40

-He gave the bone

-to his little friend.

0:04:400:04:44

-Mr Morris was lucky to have

-so many friends in Porthywawr.

0:04:450:04:50

-That night,

-Tony and Delia went to the cinema.

0:05:210:05:26

-Before they left, Tony said...

0:05:260:05:28

-.."We won't be too late,

-Mr Morris...

0:05:280:05:31

-"..but look after the house for us

-until we return."

0:05:310:05:35

-Mr Morris barked, "My pleasure,

-Mr Tony. Enjoy yourselves."

0:05:350:05:41

-As soon as the front door closed, Mr

-Morris settled in front of the fire.

0:05:410:05:47

-But he heard a strange sound.

0:05:480:05:52

-He ran to the window,

-barking every step of the way.

0:05:520:05:56

-"Gracious me, stop that unbearable

-noise, will you!" hissed Jini Jinks.

0:06:000:06:06

-"I'm trying to have a nap."

0:06:070:06:09

-She hated nothing more

-than Mr Morris's bark.

0:06:090:06:13

-"It's a fox, it's in the bins -

-go, go, go," shouted Mr Morris.

0:06:140:06:21

-He continued barking

-until the fox ran away.

0:06:210:06:25

-"Finally, peace," sighed Jini Jinks.

0:06:250:06:31

-"If you bark again, I'll plant

-my claws in your smelly fur."

0:06:310:06:37

-"I'm sorry," replied Mr Morris.

0:06:370:06:41

-But nothing came out of his mouth.

0:06:410:06:44

-"Oh, dear, someone's barked so much

-that he's lost his voice,"...

0:06:440:06:51

-..said Jini Jinks.

0:06:510:06:54

-"When a dog loses his voice,

-he never gets it back...

0:06:550:06:58

-"..because it goes out to sea

-and sinks right to the bottom."

0:06:580:07:03

-"Oh, no," thought Mr Morris,

-"I've lost my voice.

0:07:030:07:10

-"I must go and search for it."

0:07:100:07:12

-He slipped out

-and sprinted to Mackerel Bay.

0:07:150:07:19

-He gnawed

-through Captain Billy's ropes...

0:07:190:07:22

-..and jumped into his boat.

0:07:220:07:24

-"I must find my voice," he thought,

-before the waves took the boat away.

0:07:240:07:30

-The next day, Tony and Delia

-came downstairs and had a shock.

0:07:300:07:35

-Jini Jinks was pretending

-that all was well.

0:07:350:07:38

-"Something's wrong," said Delia.

0:07:390:07:42

-"We must search for him."

0:07:420:07:44

-As they left the house,

-they saw Gwenan and Alun.

0:07:490:07:52

-"Mr Morris is missing," said Delia.

0:07:530:07:56

-"We'll help, Mr Morris is

-our friend," said Gwenan and Alun.

0:07:560:08:02

-They told Mr and Mrs Williams,

-the joggers in yellow.

0:08:050:08:09

-They told Miss Celyn the florist and

-she told Mrs Agnes the postmistress.

0:08:090:08:16

-She told Mr Price the butcher

-and he in turn told Captain Billy.

0:08:200:08:25

-He couldn't understand

-what had happened to his boat.

0:08:250:08:29

-Everyone gathered in Mackerel Bay.

0:08:320:08:35

-"We'll find him," said Tony.

0:08:350:08:38

-When he raised his head,

-he saw a dot in the distance...

0:08:380:08:43

-..bobbing on the waves.

0:08:430:08:44

-Captain Billy

-peered through his binoculars.

0:08:450:08:48

-"My boat!" he shouted.

0:08:480:08:50

-"Tony, follow me."

0:08:500:08:53

-They both climbed aboard

-a nearby dinghy.

0:08:530:08:57

-As they rowed closer

-to Captain Billy's boat...

0:09:100:09:14

-..they saw a brown furry lump

-shivering inside.

0:09:140:09:19

-"Mr Morris,

-what are you doing there?"

0:09:240:09:28

-Mr Morris tried to answer

-but nothing came out of his mouth.

0:09:300:09:35

-"Poor dab. You've lost your voice.

0:09:360:09:39

-"There's no point searching for it

-in the sea.

0:09:400:09:44

-"You won't find it there."

0:09:440:09:46

-That's when Mr Morris realised

-that Jini Jinks had tricked him.

0:09:470:09:53

-He wasn't used to hearing lies.

0:09:530:09:57

-"Jini Jinks is very strange,"

-he said.

0:09:570:10:01

-"Come on," said Tony, "Let's get

-you home to make you better.

0:10:120:10:19

-"Let's get that bark back.

0:10:190:10:21

-"But even if you could only muster

-a squeak, we'd all still love you."

0:10:210:10:29

-Mr Morris was very happy.

0:10:380:10:40

-After plenty of attention

-from Tony and Delia...

0:10:400:10:45

-..his voice returned.

0:10:450:10:48

-He still goes

-on his daily adventures...

0:10:480:10:52

-..and he is everyone's friend.

0:10:520:10:55

-Apart from Jini Jinks.

0:10:550:10:58

-When she's around,

-Mr Morris keeps quiet.

0:10:590:11:04
