I have to show everyone that I can do it all.

This is my first decision as head of the studio,

and I have to make it count.

I've decided that the dancer who will take my spot is Amanda.

I can't believe that Riley is choosing Amanda

to replace her on A-Troupe.

It's a horrible idea.

Amanda is clearly not committed to The Next Step.

I don't think that's a wise choice.

I've given this a lot of thought

and there are so many new people on A-Troupe that I think we should

give the spot to an experienced dancer,

someone who's already proven themselves to the team.

Well, you said it was my decision.

And if you want me to be studio head, then Amanda takes my spot.

I admire your decisiveness, even if I don't agree with you,

Right now, I need to tell the dancers that I'm

the new head of The Next Step.

I'm nervous, but excited.

But mostly nervous.

Sorry, can I just get your attention?

I have an announcement to make.

So, Miss Kate actually decided to take a judging job

on a reality show,

so she asked me to take over as studio head.

-Yes, that's awesome.

No-one cares about The Next Step more than Riley does.

Miss Kate definitely made the right choice.

and I've decided to give that spot to Amanda.

I thought that everyone would be excited to see me,

She didn't even audition.

No, but as studio head, I made the decision on my own,

because that's what I do.

Cierra and a lot of other amazing dancers didn't make the team,

and now Amanda doesn't have to audition.

OK, let's just warm up and get ready for rehearsal.

My friends seem glad to see me, but this isn't exactly a warm welcome.

I'm going to have to prove myself all over again.

So I didn't exactly get the warmest welcome when you announced that I was the new member of A-Troupe.

OK, yeah, no, it was pretty bad.

I think it's because I didn't audition, so I didn't prove myself.

I mean, I'd be happy to do it in front of everyone.

My decision is final. Plus, I need A-Troupe solidified right now

-because there are way too many things to worry about.

I just found out that there's this qualifier for regionals.

-Qualifier?

-Yeah.

This year, there are only eight teams allowed at regionals.

There are four spots available in the first qualifier,

three spots in the second and only one spot available in the final

qualifying round. The first one's a trio competition, so now I have to

figure out the best three dancers to represent The Next Step.

But keep it on the down low,

I don't want anyone else finding out just yet.

This trio competition gives me a great idea.

I think I know how to prove to everyone that I belong on A-Troupe.

-I just found out that there is a qualifier for regionals

After last year, I know Michelle wants to prove herself to the team.

This is the first I'm hearing about this trio competition,

but I don't want to be an alternate this year.

I know it's selfish, but I want to team up with the best dancers,

and I know Amanda's not one of them.

I've been kind of put on the spot, so I just grouped the trios

by whoever was standing next to each other.

Michelle was the first person I wanted on my trio.

Now she's the last person I want to dance with.

This trio is going to be a disaster.

We have been stretching for 20 minutes in silence.

Amanda and I need to be able to compete in the trio competition

together. I need to clear the air. How long is this going to go on for?

The truth is, I didn't want to dance with you

because you're not the strongest dancer on A-Troupe.

that way we can become stronger.

I'm actually supposed to be with them right now,

but I'm thinking of bailing.

I don't really want to be in a trio with Noah and Piper.

Noah and Piper are two of the studio's strongest dancers -

you have a great chance of winning this competition with them.

Not if I mess it up for them.

I can only do hip-hop, and from what I saw at the auditions,

they're technical dancers.

Sloane, we're on A-Troupe now.

We have to learn how to work with new types of people and new styles

of dance. I'll have your back when you're dancing out there,

and I know you'll have mine.

Noah, how many times did you fall on your face when you first started

-Oh, I fell several times on my face.

Yeah, and I'll probably fall on my face when I do it too.

The only thing is that Piper and I have no idea how to tut,

so you're going to have to teach us.

I'm really starting to feel better about this dance.

Between my hip-hop and their technique,

I think this trio is going to be sick.

Everyone has had the day to rehearse their trios, and now it's time

to decide who will represent The Next Step at the qualifier.

We decided that the best approach for our dance is to tell a story

-with our choreo.

-Alfie's the handsome prince, Amy's the peasant girl,

and I'm the fairy godmother bringing them together.

If this doesn't get Riley's attention, I don't know what will.

This is my first official dance on A-Troupe,

and I really hope it has a happy ending.

This trio is so emotional and has so many tricks.

Our trio is so bland compared to this.

They have a storyline, they have everything.

It's so intimidating to watch.

I hope the other dancers are paying attention, because it's going to be hard to top that.

They had a whole storyline.

I know, she was Cinderella, he was the prince.

We just saw the first trio perform and it was incredible.

There is no way our dance is going to beat that.

-What are we going to do?

-I honestly don't know.

We can't add a storyline.

I'll just add some acro!

When you guys do the turns after the beat drops - it'll be great.

Can you just show us, so that we have an idea?

This dance is turning into the Richelle show.

But I don't think we have a choice.

Oh, yes!

Noah, Piper and I combined our dance styles into a really cool concept.

In this dance, I'm Mother Time and Noah and Piper are little kids.

As I count time forward, Piper and Noah grow up, and they fall in love.

I knew it! Sloane is killing this dance.

She looks technically proficient.

Sloane is an amazing dance partner.

We taught her some contemporary, and she taught us some killer hip-hop.

Together, we are an unstoppable team.

I love dancing outside my comfort zone.

Who would have thought I could tut?

Maybe I was a pharaoh in a past life.

Amazing. All right, Skylar, your trio is ready?

Yeah, all good. Sloane really upped her game,

but there is no way she's going to dance better than me.

We worked so hard on this choreo.

There's no question about it.

We have definitely got this.

This dance is very impressive, just like every other dance so far.

It's going to be really hard deciding who wins.

I'm glad our dance is going really well.

But honestly, it's a bit discouraging.

Richelle is brand-new to A-Troupe and she's already better than me

and Amanda. I feel like I'm right back where I was at internationals.

This isn't exactly what I had in mind when we started,

but as long as I'm on the winning team,

I guess I don't care if Richelle is the focus of the dance.

and I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I really think Noah,

Piper and I have a real shot at this.

I've decided on the three dancers to represent The Next Step

at the qualifier. The final trio is going to be...

..and Richelle.

How can Riley take me off of my trio?

Look, the most important thing is that The Next Step is

represented well at the qualifier. And, in my opinion, I just think

that those are the best three dancers that will do that.
