Previously on The Next Step...

In hockey, I wasn't going to make it to the NHL.

But in dance, I may make it on The Next Step.

I would like to welcome Josh as the tenth member of our team.

OK, I have some really exciting news.

I have decided that it is time for us to enter our first competition.

It is really important that you understand the kind of pressure

you'll be under at regionals.

And the only way to truly understand it is to compete.

So our first competition will be a duet.

I'm still new here.

I have no idea who Emily's going to choose.

I hope it's me. But I don't know.

This duet would be the perfect way to spend more time with Jacquie.

And I wouldn't be breaking any bro code with Henry.

Right now, I'm teaching the team some choreography for the regionals

routine. It's important that they learn this today because we're way

behind all the other studios.

I like Michelle's choreo. It's challenging.

Picking up this choreography would be really tricky

if it wasn't for all the extra classes that I'm taking.

Now I can actually keep up.

I'm going to step out for a little bit so that you guys can work on

your choreography. I'd better be impressed.

The concept of the dance is a black widow spider

slowly seducing its prey until she finally catches him.

I've been dancing with Noah since J-Troupe,

pretty much since I first came to the studio.

So we're strong dancers and we complement each other's strengths

really well.

I think with a couple more rehearsals, it'll be clean,

tight and ready to go.

It feels great.

I believe the most important thing in a duet is the chemistry.

And Richelle and I, we don't have it.

chemistry would not be an issue.

Adam playing hockey definitely takes

All right, so I'm going to be teaching you a Litvanian

traditional dance.

I was born in Litvania and the dance is part of the culture.

I've actually never heard of Litvania before.

-It's in Eastern Europe.

And it's one of the smaller countries, so maybe that's why.

All right, so one main focus of the dance is the knees.

-OK.

-In Litvania,

the knees are considered the most beautiful part of the body.

I got beautiful knees.

And I'm ready to show them off.

You can either, like, go faster.

You can take it slow.

You can go, like, doubles, or you can go singles.

I think I'm getting this.

I'm learning a lot about Litvania.

There's so many interesting things that I didn't know about it.

These guys are buying that this dance is a real thing.

In Litvania, the ostrich is the king of the birds.

And in this dance, the neck is used to represent the ostrich.

So we're going to lengthen and then we're going to add our neck

going back and forth with the length.

Ozzy's pulling out some really weird moves from his home country.

It's got to do a lot with the knees and the neck.

It's weird.

I'm a little suspicious about this Litvanian thing.

but I think this just seems a little bit, you know, whack.

And there's no dances of the world competition either.
