I stuck up for my dodgeball team

when the other team were cheating.

I was loyal to my friend

because it was her first time doing gymnastics and I helped her.

It's good to be loyal because people

can count on you to look after their stuff.

It's good to be loyal because that shows you care about people.

I'm loyal to my football team because I go

every Tuesday and Saturday, and I got a trophy for never giving up.

My dog Nico is loyal to me

for licking my face every day.

really great at loyalty.

Hi, I'm Amy,

and this is the beautiful story of The Loyal Parrot.

Thank you very much.

The parrot in this story had feathers

that were green and yellow and blue.

And his eyes were bright and shiny.

He was one good-looking bird.

"Squawk!"

Now, this beautiful parrot lived in a beautiful tree,

just like this one.

Wow, that looks great.

Thank you, every one.

"Squawk! I love you, tree.

"I love your leaves that give nice cool shade.

"I love the way you whisper when the breezes blow."

-ALL:

-Whisper, whisper, whisper.

"Squawk! I love it when the tree does that.

"You know what? I love everything about this tree.

"I'm going to stick with this tree forever,

"no matter what."

HE YAWNS

And with that, the happy parrot lay on one of the branches

and had happy dreams about his leafy friend.

Now, Sakra, king of the gods, was very impressed

with the bird's loyalty, and he decided to test the bird.

He waved his hand and made magic.

The tree had lost all its beautiful leaves,

and the lovely whispers changed to sad creaking sounds.

-ALL:

-Creak, creak, creak.

HE YAWNS

"What was that creaking noise?

"It woke me up."

HE GASPS

"My beautiful tree! Oh, no!

"Where are all your beautiful leaves?

"Oh, my friend, I'm so sorry to see you like this.

"But should I leave you just because

"you're no longer beautiful?

"No, I'm staying right here.

"In my eyes, you're just as beautiful

"as you always were. Squawk!"

The loyal parrot stayed with his friend the tree

for days and nights.

Sakra, king of the gods, was impressed with the parrot's loyalty.

It made Sakra smile, and Sakra's smile made magic happen.

"Squawk! Oh, my friend,

"you're beautiful and leafy again.

"I'm so happy for you.

"Oh, yes! Oh, yes! Oh, yes, oh yes, oh yes."

The parrot and the tree lived together for years and years,

and every day the tree gave cool shade and lovely whispers."

I love coming to see them and spending time at their house.

A few months ago, my granny fell over and broke her leg,

so she finds it hard to walk around.

-Granny, can we do some baking?

-Oh, yes, of course we could.

That would be a lovely idea.

Normally, we would go out and have adventures, but it's OK,

because today, we're going to do some baking.

Right, Joe, this is the tray bake.

Would you get the ingredients for me?

We've already got the melted margarine,

so could you get the castor sugar, the self-raising flower,

the desiccated coconut, the mixed fruit and the eggs?

Lovely.

Me and Granny can start making the tray bake.

The other thing we need are clean hands.

-Have you washed your hands, Joe?

-Yes, Granny.

We can get baking, then.

Because Granny finds it difficult to stand for a long time,

it's a good job I'm here to pass her the things we need.

Now that the mixture's ready, it's time to put it in the oven.

Granny and I usually play together outside, but because she can't

walk around at the moment, we're playing an indoor game instead.

They can't do the things they usually do.
