-can be quite sexy...

-this is suitable for children.

-We have everyday clothes today.

-Today, we're going to discuss burns

-ahead of Bonfire Night.

-Bonfire Night is very dangerous.

-If you don't take care,

-it can cause big problems.

-Make sure you purchase fireworks

-in a safe place.

-Make sure that it has the

-CE symbol on the fireworks.

-I couldn't purchase any

-this morning.

-You have to have one sober person

-in charge.

-If you have a big bonfire,

-make sure there's no petrol nearby.

-You will need gloves, a torch,

-two buckets of water...

-..and a bucket of soil.

-Keep small children and pets

-away from the fireworks.

-Children love seeing fireworks, but

-they can cause a lot of problems.

-There's been lots of coverage

-in the news of fireworks injuries.

-Burns are big problems

-at this time of year.

-This photograph is of a burn.

-Over 40% of the hand

-has been affected by the firework.

-The hand was ripped.

-The sparklers are five times warmer

-than oil in a pan.

-Rockets can go at 100mph.

-Some states in America

-have banned sparklers.

-If you have been burnt,

-remove any jewellery.

-You then need to place the burn

-under water for 10-15 minutes.

-Don't apply any plasters.

-You should put cling film

-over the burn.

-Everyone has cling film

-in their house.

-You don't want to wrap it

-around the burn...

-..as it will make the burn tight.

-I would buy menolin.

-You can buy it in any pharmacy.

-It has a shiny side.

-You need to apply this

-Don't use a plaster at this point.

-Use micropore tape

-to keep the cling film down.

-Take any children or old people

-to the hospital.

-If you have a burn on your face

-or hand, go to the hospital.

-You can apply a plastic bag

-over the burn.

-You should make sure

-that you have a tetanus jab.

-If the burn turns red...

-..and gets worse over 24 hours,

-go to the doctor.

-You need cold water nearby.

-You want new skin

-to grow over the burn.

-Use cling film after the water.

-If you have a burn on the face

-or eye...

-..go straight to the GP.

-Don't rub your eye.

-During last year's Eisteddfod, I met

-visitors from the United States.

-We lived near to the Eisteddfod

-in Abergavenny.

-I visited every one of the stalls

-at the Eisteddfod.

-In one tent,

-I met a group of Americans.

-That's when they told me about the

-North American Festival of Wales.

-A few weeks later,

-I received my invitation...

-..to attend this year's

-North American Festival of Wales.

-The North American Festival of Wales

-is a travelling festival.

-This year, it was in Rochester.

-Next year, it's in Washington.

-The event is held in hotels and

-all sorts of events are held.

-There are concerts, services,

-workshops and stalls.

-I chatted to a few people

-about the event.

-I was so excited after speaking to

-them, I gave them copies of my book.

-I told them to read it on the way

-back to America.

-It was my thanks to them.

-I received a few emails

-after they returned to America.

-They had passed the book around and

-they really enjoyed it.

-They read the book in reading books.

-In Pittsburgh, they talked about the

-book over Christmas.

-I attended the festival to host

-question and answer sessions...

-..about my novel, Shadow of Nanteos.

-It was my first novel of this kind

-so I discussed the writing process.

-I had a great response to my book.

-I even spotted two Mormons

-reading my book during a service!

-It was a Cymanfa Ganu.

-I won't mention who the reader was

-but I am friends with her.

-Instead of singing and listening

-to the performers...

-..she was reading my book.

-You received a wonderful response.

-The Americans are full of

-excitement.

-They really enjoyed talking Welsh

-during the festival.

-Lots of the visitors to the

-festivals have moved to America.

-Some of them had family members

-who hailed from America.

-These people had money to spend and

-they bought lots of my books.

-How did you get all of the books

-to America?

-Y Lolfa use a company to sell

-their books in America.

-They had run out of books

-before I went to the festival.

-However, my husband organised

-a courier to send more there.

-I sold 86 copies of my book.

-You managed to spread the message

-and story of the book.

-How did that feel?

-I talked about my book

-that's based in Nanteos

-They really enjoyed

-hearing my stories.

-The audience were captivated.

-It felt fantastic.

-I bought a blanket in America.

-It was made in Wales, sent to

-America and I brought it home.

-A sequel to Shadow of Nanteos will

-be published in the next 18 months.

-I have to settle down and

-get down to work.

-Next, Hana Medi continues

-Today, she visits a collection

-that's very close to home.

-I've been collecting

-cups and saucers for many years...

-..and my collection

-continues to grow.

-Once again, I'm looking forward

-to meeting other collectors.

-with my grandfather.

-Yes, being a collector

-runs in the family.

-One of my earliest memories...

-..is seeing my grandfather's

-large collection filling their home.

-Over the years, I've enjoyed

-watching his collection grow.

-How did you start collecting

-these model lorries?

-I worked for a local company,

-J T Jones and Son.

-I would do lots of travelling and

-drove all over England and Wales.

-After I retired from driving...

-..I called into the Good News shop

-in Lammas Street in Carmarthen.

-I spotted some of the model lorries

-like the ones I used to drive.

-That's when I started

-to buy and collect them.

-You're collection

-has grown considerably since then.

-I've also started collecting

-tractors, motorbikes and trains.

-However, it's the lorries that

-sparked my interest for collecting.

-There are all sorts of lorries

-in the collection.

-There are models from local

-companies like Mansel Davies...

-..to world-famous companies

-like Eddie Stobart.

-I try to remember what I've got

-and if I don't have it, I'll buy it.

-However, I often come home

-with a lorry that I already own.

-How many models

-have you got in your collection?

-I couldn't tell you

-as there are hundreds.

-I purchased some in the 1970s

-and I haven't even opened the boxes.

-Does your display of model lorries

-bring back memories?

-They bring back great memories.

-Some of these older lorries

-are still on the road today.

-When I was a driver, I worked long

-hours and drove to Avonmouth Docks.

-We travelled through Gloucester

-as the bridge hadn't opened.

-I would call at a few cafes

-and talk to other drivers.

-We would always compare our lorries.

-These models

-always bring back those memories.

-Every time we pass a lorry,

-I tell my wife, "look at this one!"

-These objects that bring back

-fond memories are dotted all around.

-Some of them

-are certain to raise a smile.

-from the collection.

-I started driving for J T Jones.

-I did many miles in my lorry.

-I've had two of them for years.
