Part 3, Sunset Midsummer Live

Live. We have been celebrating the longest day of the year here at the

Callanish standing stones and we were hoping to end the evening

watching the sunset, but as you can see, cloud cover, the rain, the

weather is not playing ball. It is not but it has been an amazing

evening and we have hours of light even if the sunset is obscured by

cloud. We know that it is setting just over there and the visitors are

not going to let it spoil their visitor -- their visit here. You

guys live here, how long have you lived here? 15 months. Win bobbin it

is our first one. I am going to come back next year and bring the

children. I have noticed it as a family thing, there are quite a lot

of kids around. Enjoy the celebrations, we only have minutes

to go. We have been marking the longest day across Scotland, so

let's see if our cameras elsewhere have had the joy at capturing the

sunset. If you were in the central belt at all, the son is already

below the horizon. This is the view from the camera from the roof of the

BBC in Glasgow. It is about 20 minutes ago. It has 45 minutes less

daylight than we have here at in challenge today. Here is the view

from the sunset from Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens, around 10pm this

evening. Hermione Cockburn was there as well. It looks lovely, actually,

with the orange sky. I wish we could see that here in Callanish but sadly

we can't. That was Edinburgh, earlier on but over to you, Ellie.

You have not got a brolly. I am getting rained on! On the Isle of

May, sunset was a minute earlier than Edinburgh and our cameras

caught a glimpse of the sun as it set over Fife. It is cheerier than

here. Catriona was there to watch. Not quite as spectacular sunset but

what a spectacular place to enjoy the end of the day. The sun has just

dipped below the clouds but the birds are making the most of the

light and in for two, once the chicks have fledged, this island

will become a much quieter place. In the meantime on this midsummer's

day, it has been busy and there have been a whole load of new mouths to

feed. It looks fantastic on the Isle of

May, they were lucky and we were not! I am so jealous. The rain is

pouring. It is still fantastic, so many great memories of midsummer and
