The Disappearing Nest Clangers

Here it is - Planet Earth -

the place we call home.

Somewhere to relax with friends,

somewhere to sleep, safe and sound.

And if we were to travel across the vastness of space,

we might find another home amongst the stars.

Here's one.

The Iron Chicken's nest.

And the Iron Chicken.

She looks busy.

SQUAWK!

Ah!

She is calling Tiny Clanger on her radio.

The Iron Chicken is having the Wols over for supper.

She is asking for blue string pudding.

Tiny is going to ask Mother Clanger right now.

It's nearly supper time,

so Mother has plenty of blue string pudding to spare.

Ah! You can't beat having all the family

around the table for supper.

SQUAWK!

There is just enough for a family of Wols.

The Iron Chicken is most grateful.

Major is right.

The Iron Chicken has taken ALL the blue string pudding.

Oh, dear. Something appears to be the matter.

Lots of things from the Iron Chicken's nest

are floating in space.

Well, I'll be...! Her nest has disappeared!

SQUAWK!

Ah! Here she is with the bad news.

Yes. Poor Iron Chicken.

That's right. She can't give the Wols supper

without her nest to sit in.

Major is right. Nests don't just disappear.

Major and Small are going to search for the missing nest.

BOAT PLAYS MUSIC

Well, here is where the nest SHOULD be.

There's no sign of the nest,

but the Major and Small are not going to stop

until they've found it.

Oh, dear. The Iron Chicken is really missing her nest.

Yes. Gone are her bits and bobs, too, like her radio.

All manner of strange things float in space.

But they can't see a nest made of scrap metal.

HOOTS TOOT

Oh, Small has caught something.

Well, will you look at that?!

Small has caught a baby Wol.

TWIT-TWOO!

Oh, dear. I don't think Mother Wol is amused.

There we are. No harm done.

Mother Wol is looking for the Iron Chicken's nest.

Major tells them they're going to wait here for a bit,

by her table, in case the nest comes back,

while the Wols go off to search further out in space.

The Iron Chicken is still very upset.

MOO!

Hmm, something has caught Mother's attention.

MOO!

MOO!

Oh, yes. It sounds like a Sky Moo, a very far-away one.

MOO!

Ah, it sounds a bit closer now.

MOO!

Surely a Sky Moo would be too big to fit in a bed cave.

MOO!

MOO!

MOO!

Well, it sounds like the Sky Moo is inside Tiny's bed cave.

MOO!

The mooing is coming from Tiny's radio hat.

She must have left it on.

The Iron Chicken is right.

This isn't going to help her find her nest.

Tiny isn't so sure.

The Sky Moo is on the other end of the radio...

..that's IN the Iron Chicken's nest.

To the rocket! Quick!

They are going to join Major and Small in the search.

There go Mother and Tiny in Major's rocket.

Now they're on their way to find the Iron Chicken's nest.

Yes, and the Iron Chicken, too.

MOO!

MOO!

Very good. Tiny is telling the Sky Moo to moo louder.

Yes. Follow the rocket to find the nest.

The Iron Chicken tells the Wols that supper won't be long.

She's just got to get her nest back first.

Oh. Major has got his telescope out.

Yes! Major can see the nest!

Well, I never! That poor Sky Moo has snagged its tail on the nest.

It must have pulled it out into space when it couldn't get free.

Here come Major and Small to the rescue.

One radio switched off!

One Sky Moo free!

And very happy it is, too.

Just like the Iron Chicken.

It's time to get the Iron Chicken's home...home!

Hold on tight!

Yes. That little spot in space just above the Clangers' planet.

The Iron Chicken has invited everyone to supper

as a special thank you.

Mother is right.

They WILL need more blue string pudding,

and they are going to need a bigger pot.

What an extraordinary night everyone has had!

By working together as a family,

the Clangers helped their friend, the Iron Chicken,

AND a stranded Sky Moo.

What better excuse for a bit of supper!
