Hi, I'm Katie B and this is Hit The Stage.

0:00:020:00:05

I'm going to be taking a group of budding musicians

0:00:050:00:07

and giving them the chance to perform on

0:00:070:00:09

the biggest stages we can find.

0:00:090:00:11

Budding DJs go from playing their mum and dad's parties

0:00:170:00:19

to rocking the decks at major festivals.

0:00:190:00:22

Singers from singing hymns in church to performing to sell out crowds.

0:00:220:00:27

And songwriters from sharing their songs with no-one

0:00:270:00:30

to playing to an audience of thousands.

0:00:300:00:33

Are you ready to Hit The Stage? We are!

0:00:330:00:36

MUSIC: "Lights On" by Katy B

0:00:420:00:46

I've been lucky enough to

0:00:460:00:48

make a life out of doing something that I love -

0:00:480:00:50

singing and performing.

0:00:500:00:52

You may even know some of my hit singles.

0:00:520:00:54

And now I'm in Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

0:00:590:01:02

Why am I here? Well, it's simple.

0:01:020:01:05

This year the city is the UK's first ever City Of Culture

0:01:050:01:08

which means there's loads of massive music events

0:01:080:01:11

happening all year round

0:01:110:01:12

and I'm going to help some local kids to hit the stage.

0:01:120:01:16

I won't be doing it alone,

0:01:190:01:21

I've got two local musicians to help me out when I'm not around.

0:01:210:01:25

Glenn, who loves hitting the stage himself

0:01:250:01:27

when he's rocking out with his band.

0:01:270:01:29

The spark of creativity that they have

0:01:290:01:31

really reignites the spark that you have,

0:01:310:01:33

so I'm looking forward to the eight months,

0:01:330:01:34

and seeing where this is going to go.

0:01:340:01:36

And Jenny who likes to take things a bit more slowly

0:01:360:01:39

when she's teaching students how to play the harp or sing.

0:01:390:01:43

It's really inspiring to think that these kids really have

0:01:430:01:46

so much potential, so I'm really,

0:01:460:01:48

really excited to see what they're going to come up with.

0:01:480:01:51

We've already met singer/songwriter Hannah

0:01:510:01:54

who is struggling to play her own songs in front of people.

0:01:540:01:57

And superstar DJ Shay

0:01:570:01:59

who has already gone from playing empty rooms

0:01:590:02:01

to hitting the stage in front of thousands.

0:02:010:02:04

Next - someone else with big music dreams is 16-year-old Micaela.

0:02:070:02:12

She sings traditional hymns every Sunday in her local church.

0:02:120:02:16

I'm quite strong, so it's important, I mean,

0:02:160:02:21

I know it's like a Sunday morning and you've got to get up early

0:02:210:02:24

and you would love to sleep on,

0:02:240:02:26

but I enjoy it, getting up and getting ready.

0:02:260:02:29

You have to look your best,

0:02:290:02:31

you can't go your jeans and your trackies

0:02:310:02:33

and be like, "I going to sing in the choir today."

0:02:330:02:36

You got to look the part, you got to look like a proper performer.

0:02:360:02:40

# We gather in this place

0:02:400:02:45

# Round the table of the Lord... #

0:02:450:02:51

As much as she enjoys her regular gig at the church,

0:02:510:02:53

this girl has big dreams.

0:02:530:02:56

I have dreams to be a singer, to stand on a stage in front of...

0:02:560:03:01

a crowd of thousands, I mean, that's what I go to bed every night

0:03:010:03:04

and dream about. I would love that.

0:03:040:03:05

Micaela has a fantastic voice,

0:03:100:03:12

and needs an opportunity that will really test her.

0:03:120:03:15

I think we've found it in one of the great events that is happening

0:03:150:03:18

in Derry this year.

0:03:180:03:20

Glenn is popping round with some big news.

0:03:200:03:22

So, how would you feel playing a gig at the Grand Vintage Ball

0:03:240:03:30

in The Venue in front of a couple of thousand people?

0:03:300:03:33

The Venue?

0:03:330:03:35

The main venue, packed full.

0:03:350:03:37

Oh, no, it's The Venue!

0:03:380:03:41

The Venue holds 2,000 people

0:03:420:03:45

and is the main stage for all City Of Culture events.

0:03:450:03:48

Before going to school, Micaela is heading to check it out.

0:03:490:03:52

The Grand Vintage Ball is a celebration of the type of music

0:03:530:03:56

your grandparents probably listened too

0:03:560:03:58

and everyone is encouraged to dress up in their best vintage clothes.

0:03:580:04:03

Micaela will be there singing solo in a line-up of stars

0:04:030:04:06

from the vintage scene.

0:04:060:04:08

What do you think?

0:04:090:04:10

Oh, goodness.

0:04:110:04:12

Are you having a laugh? It's massive.

0:04:150:04:19

What do you think of the view from here?

0:04:240:04:27

I honestly think if I think too much about the people out there,

0:04:270:04:30

I'll just like, die.

0:04:300:04:32

You'll be standing right here belting your song out.

0:04:370:04:41

I can't cope right now.

0:04:430:04:45

I'm excited. Are you excited?

0:04:460:04:48

It's everything I kind of wanted,

0:04:480:04:50

but at the same time I'm kind of sceptical and scared about it.

0:04:500:04:53

I'll calm myself down and not think about this now

0:04:530:04:55

cos I have to go to school

0:04:550:04:57

and I'll think about this after three o'clock.

0:04:570:05:00

I'll have a wee day dream about this in maths.

0:05:050:05:07

So Micaela's been given this fantastic opportunity,

0:05:120:05:15

but it's not as easy as just walking out on stage and just singing -

0:05:150:05:18

she's going to have to pick a song, rehearse it

0:05:180:05:21

and find something to wear in just three weeks,

0:05:210:05:23

so there's lots of hard work ahead.

0:05:230:05:26

-Are you excited?

-A bit.

0:05:260:05:28

But for Hannah, time is up.

0:05:280:05:30

The last time we saw her

0:05:300:05:31

she was struggling to make it out of the house in time

0:05:310:05:34

for her first ever gig.

0:05:340:05:35

Hannah! Listen, it's time to go. Are you ready?

0:05:350:05:38

She's a brilliant singer/songwriter

0:05:380:05:40

who up until now has never played her songs in public,

0:05:400:05:44

but all that's about to change.

0:05:440:05:46

She's finally made it to her gig where 300 paying customers

0:05:480:05:51

are taking their seats to listen to some of the best local artists.

0:05:510:05:55

It's an older crowd than she'd like,

0:05:550:05:57

but they will be the first people apart from me and her mum

0:05:570:06:00

to hear her original songs.

0:06:000:06:02

I've got butterflies...and I feel like I'm going to throw up.

0:06:020:06:06

There's nothing I love more than just playing music and making music.

0:06:070:06:12

So I need to not let the nerves get to me, just...

0:06:120:06:16

OBJECT DROPS

0:06:160:06:18

Just everything bad that can happen...

0:06:190:06:24

I feel is going to happen...

0:06:240:06:26

now.

0:06:260:06:27

She's 15, she's a singer/songwriter,

0:06:350:06:37

so could you please give a warm welcome to Hannah.

0:06:370:06:40

APPLAUSE

0:06:400:06:42

# Hi, I'm Hannah

0:07:010:07:04

# I can't sing that well

0:07:040:07:07

# If you told me a secret I'd never tell

0:07:070:07:10

# Unless it was to one of my best friends

0:07:100:07:15

# Let's get off the subject

0:07:150:07:17

# Hi, when I'm all grown up

0:07:170:07:19

# I want to rock the stage

0:07:190:07:21

# I want to get older but never age

0:07:210:07:25

# And I've slight obsession with

0:07:250:07:28

# A lazy eyed man named Russell Howard

0:07:280:07:31

# Oh, oh, oh

0:07:310:07:33

# I'm ma put on a show

0:07:330:07:37

# To show you me

0:07:370:07:42

# Let you hear my musical autobiography

0:07:420:07:45

# Oh... #

0:07:450:07:46

I am so pleased, Hannah did so well. It was an amazing performance.

0:07:460:07:49

The whole crowd just settled down straightaway when she sat down.

0:07:490:07:54

You could hear a pin drop,

0:07:540:07:56

everyone was so intrigued with what she had to say through her songs.

0:07:560:08:00

# Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa. #

0:08:000:08:06

APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:08:080:08:11

Class - wasn't it?

0:08:280:08:29

Yes, I am actually buzzing now.

0:08:310:08:35

I actually like, I am like...

0:08:350:08:37

I am on, what do you call it? Cloud nine, I'm so happy.

0:08:380:08:43

I'm really pleased, Hannah, well done.

0:08:450:08:47

I'm so happy that's over...

0:08:480:08:50

Well, I'm not really, I want to do it all again.

0:08:500:08:52

I want to do it again.

0:08:520:08:53

I knew she'd say that

0:08:550:08:56

because performing on stage is such a great experience,

0:08:560:08:59

but as Hannah found out it can be a scary one.

0:08:590:09:01

Do you know, I used to be such a nervous person when I was younger,

0:09:130:09:16

and now I feel a lot more grown up,

0:09:160:09:18

I feel like I've matured and I've learnt that

0:09:180:09:21

I get more butterflies before I go on stage now

0:09:210:09:23

and I get more excited, so your nerves will go in time,

0:09:230:09:27

but you wouldn't be normal if you didn't get nervous,

0:09:270:09:29

so don't worry about nerves.

0:09:290:09:31

I guess you've just got to feel confident

0:09:310:09:33

that you know your words and you know your lyrics,

0:09:330:09:35

and melodies and stuff,

0:09:350:09:36

so that it can just be like second nature to you

0:09:360:09:39

and you can just go out there and just really perform it.

0:09:390:09:41

Before I go on stage I like to have a little dance,

0:09:410:09:44

just like a complete idiot.

0:09:440:09:46

I will just be doing all these silly moves to myself,

0:09:460:09:48

and everyone's looking at me like "What she doing? She's daft."

0:09:480:09:51

But that's me and that's what helps me.

0:09:510:09:53

When it is time to go on, I walk on and think, "I can do this,"

0:09:530:09:56

positive energy and that's the best thing to get you through your nerves.

0:09:560:10:00

So remember, don't worry if you get butterflies. It's normal.

0:10:070:10:11

Be prepared. Know you can do what you need to do.

0:10:160:10:18

Be positive.

0:10:220:10:24

Next up - another Derry kid who loves to sing,

0:10:290:10:31

it's 15-year-old Eibhin.

0:10:310:10:33

But up until a recent community event,

0:10:360:10:38

his family had never heard him properly perform.

0:10:380:10:41

We were sitting in the audience

0:10:410:10:42

and I was warned not to shout or scream

0:10:420:10:44

-or make an exhibition...

-Or all three.

0:10:440:10:47

LAUGHTER

0:10:470:10:49

And the music started.

0:10:490:10:52

I heard the first note and we couldn't speak.

0:10:520:10:55

The music's more sort of me main focus,

0:10:560:10:58

everything else is just sort of...tolerate.

0:10:580:11:01

His school have recognised this focus

0:11:020:11:04

and now any time there's a school show or event -

0:11:040:11:07

Eibhin is the man they ask to take the mic.

0:11:070:11:09

But for this performance...

0:11:120:11:13

he doesn't seem to have done his homework.

0:11:130:11:15

Writing out me words, because I forgot them.

0:11:160:11:20

Eibhin is due on stage in five minutes

0:11:200:11:23

and he's still learning his words!

0:11:230:11:24

This is not good.

0:11:240:11:26

I'll be fine anyway. As soon as I go on stage it will go.

0:11:260:11:29

Won't be as jittery or as jumpy or as pace-y.

0:11:290:11:32

# Oh, it takes every kind of people... #

0:11:320:11:35

When you don't do your homework, people always find out.

0:11:350:11:38

Eibhin hasn't prepared properly and it shows.

0:11:400:11:42

I've got plans for Eibhin,

0:11:520:11:53

but he'll need to improve if he wants to hit the stage

0:11:530:11:55

I've got in mind.

0:11:550:11:57

But first, I've got something to do.

0:11:580:12:00

So, here we are at Hannah's school. I'm about to surprise her.

0:12:050:12:09

She has no idea I'm coming to let her know about her next big gig.

0:12:090:12:13

I haven't been to school in a while, so here goes.

0:12:130:12:15

Hannah's last gig in front of 300 people was a success,

0:12:210:12:25

but I feel this girl needs to raise her game and play to a bigger

0:12:250:12:28

and younger crowd who will really get her style and lyrics.

0:12:280:12:32

I can't wait to tell her what her gig is.

0:12:350:12:38

It's definitely going to be the biggest gig of her life.

0:12:380:12:40

Hello! How are you?

0:12:440:12:47

Sorry to disturb your class, but I'm here to see Hannah.

0:12:470:12:52

How are you?

0:12:520:12:53

-How are you?

-I'm good, how are you doing?

-Pretty good.

0:12:560:12:59

-I'm here to tell you about your next gig.

-OK

0:12:590:13:03

Your next big gig. I heard when you played your last gig...

0:13:030:13:09

the people there were a little bit older,

0:13:090:13:12

so they didn't really appreciate the Harry Stiles jokes and stuff.

0:13:120:13:16

-They were a bit ancient, do you know what I mean?

-Yeah.

0:13:160:13:20

We've gone and got you another gig

0:13:200:13:22

and it's going to be at CBBC Live on the main stage in Leeds

0:13:220:13:29

and there's going to be over 4,000 people at this event.

0:13:290:13:31

It's a pretty big deal.

0:13:330:13:35

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:13:350:13:37

All right, we'll see you later, Hannah, see you soon.

0:13:430:13:46

Nice to meet you, girls. See you later.

0:13:460:13:49

ALL: Bye!

0:13:490:13:51

What!

0:13:570:13:58

Like... It's actually so surreal.

0:13:580:14:02

Like, it doesn't feel real, it feels like a dream.

0:14:020:14:06

It sounds so cheesy, but it does actually feel like a dream.

0:14:060:14:09

# The moment I wake up

0:14:150:14:18

# Before I put on my make-up

0:14:180:14:22

# I say a little prayer for you... #

0:14:220:14:24

Micaela is a week into her three week schedule to get ready

0:14:240:14:28

to sing in front of 2,000 people at the Grand Vintage Ball.

0:14:280:14:32

The vintage song she's chosen is Say A Little Prayer

0:14:320:14:35

and Glenn is helping her reach the right notes.

0:14:350:14:38

# Please... #

0:14:380:14:39

-Ah, blah, blah, blah, I hate that bit.

-What happened?

0:14:390:14:43

Half a note too long

0:14:430:14:45

and it's, like, really difficult to come down from.

0:14:450:14:47

Maybe if you don't put that middle note in? You go...

0:14:470:14:51

-And then go...

-OK.

0:14:510:14:55

It's up to you. If you find it easier to have that...

0:14:560:14:59

I can't do wee triplet notes like that, it's kind of difficult.

0:14:590:15:03

# Say I'm in love with you

0:15:030:15:06

# Answer my prayer now, baby... #

0:15:060:15:09

-You know at the end of each line in the verse?

-Uh-huh.

0:15:090:15:12

-You do a natural kind of smile anyway.

-Uh-huh.

0:15:120:15:14

I'd just accentuate it a tiny bit,

0:15:140:15:16

because the more people see that you're having a good time

0:15:160:15:18

-the more likely they're going to accept that...

-OK.

0:15:180:15:21

-That was great.

-Thank you.

0:15:210:15:22

But I want to see you do it again with a slightly bigger audience...

0:15:220:15:25

Certainly.

0:15:250:15:26

-Yeah, so I'm going to get your mum and your sister...

-OK.

-..to sit in.

0:15:260:15:30

Ah, that's grand.

0:15:300:15:32

Hello, sorry to interrupt your TV,

0:15:350:15:38

-but could I borrow yous for a few seconds?

-Yeah. Come on in.

0:15:380:15:41

-We need an audience, so we do.

-You're my audience.

0:15:410:15:43

# Say a little prayer for you

0:15:470:15:50

# The moment I wake up... #

0:15:510:15:52

She took everything that I said on board,

0:15:520:15:54

and was a better performance then in front of her mum

0:15:540:15:56

and her sister, you could see she was moving more,

0:15:560:15:59

she was smiling more, and it was just straightaway she took it up.

0:15:590:16:02

# We never will part

0:16:020:16:03

# Oh, I how I love you

0:16:030:16:05

# Together, together, that's how it must be

0:16:050:16:08

# To live without you

# Would only mean heartbreak for me. #

0:16:100:16:15

She may have impressed her mum and sister,

0:16:160:16:18

but there's still a lot of practice to do

0:16:180:16:20

before she's ready to hit the stage for real.

0:16:200:16:23

That's excellent. I got a shock.

0:16:230:16:25

Hit The Stage isn't just about individual performances,

0:16:300:16:33

I want everyone to work together as a group

0:16:330:16:36

and I have a plan about what we can all do. I hope they like it.

0:16:360:16:39

Hey, guys, it's Katy.

0:16:410:16:42

Sorry I can't I be there with you right now,

0:16:420:16:44

I'm in the studio.

0:16:440:16:45

Now, I've been thinking long and hard about what we can do to include

0:16:450:16:49

everyone's talent.

0:16:490:16:50

And I've decided we can make our own unique version of

0:16:500:16:53

an iconic song by a local band.

0:16:530:16:55

The song is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol

0:16:550:16:58

and I really want you to put your own unique twist on it.

0:16:580:17:01

So I am super, super excited, and I hope you are too.

0:17:010:17:05

This is a big challenge,

0:17:050:17:07

so it's going to take such a lot of hard work - so get to it.

0:17:070:17:10

Good luck and I'll see you soon.

0:17:100:17:12

The plan is for the group to record a cover version of Chasing Cars

0:17:120:17:16

and make a music video that you'll be able to watch on

0:17:160:17:18

the CBBC website.

0:17:180:17:20

But I'm not sure my choice of song has gone down a storm with everyone.

0:17:200:17:24

You all know what the tune is... What's the initial reactions?

0:17:250:17:28

It always is playing

0:17:280:17:30

when someone gets put out of the X Factor or something.

0:17:300:17:32

Everybody keeps saying that they hear it all the time,

0:17:320:17:34

so it's played out.

0:17:340:17:36

It's just a challenge. Come on, it's not...

0:17:360:17:38

Do you not think you can do anything with it?

0:17:380:17:41

Like, it has it has potential.

0:17:410:17:43

This is what I think... Snow Patrol.

0:17:450:17:48

It has potential.

0:17:480:17:49

The whole point of this is

0:17:510:17:53

we don't want it to sound like Snow Patrol,

0:17:530:17:55

we want it to sound like you.

0:17:550:17:57

Wise words, Jenny,

0:17:570:17:58

the group will now go away and work out

0:17:580:18:00

how to make their own version of the song.

0:18:000:18:03

You may have noticed that Micaela loves to dress up,

0:18:080:18:11

and that's all part of performing, so with just two days to go

0:18:110:18:15

before she hits the stage, she's on the hunt for a classic outfit.

0:18:150:18:19

There's so much choice, what is a girl to wear?

0:18:240:18:27

OK, do we like the bling,

0:18:310:18:32

or are we going for something a bit more subtle, a bit more classy?

0:18:320:18:35

-Ah...

-Or shall we just try on loads and see what...?

0:18:350:18:37

-Try on and see what...

-Yep.

0:18:370:18:40

-Yep, that's a definite possibility.

-Yeah.

0:18:510:18:55

-No, it's not pretty in pink.

-No.

0:18:570:18:59

-It's far from it.

-It's uncomfortable.

0:18:590:19:02

It's not you.

0:19:050:19:06

-No.

-It's so not you.

0:19:060:19:08

Hello.

0:19:080:19:09

Oh, that's pretty too.

0:19:090:19:10

-I really do like this.

-That's pretty.

0:19:100:19:12

Oh, my gosh it's gorgeous.

0:19:120:19:16

Isn't that so pretty on her?

0:19:160:19:17

I'm just getting that wee gut feeling now.

0:19:170:19:20

-Is that the one you feel...?

-Mm-hm.

0:19:200:19:22

Oh, that's it, that's the one there.

0:19:220:19:24

Is that the one?

0:19:240:19:26

Yes, big time, that is the one.

0:19:260:19:28

It is stunning on her.

0:19:280:19:31

I really love that.

0:19:310:19:32

In just two days' time Micaela will be hitting the stage.

0:19:390:19:44

But for Eibhin, it's time to find out what City Of Culture event

0:19:440:19:47

he'll be involved in.

0:19:470:19:49

I love his voice,

0:19:500:19:51

and I think the time is right for him to step up to the next level.

0:19:510:19:55

I've arranged for him to meet local music legend Phil Coulter.

0:19:570:20:00

Phil has performed all over the world with some of the biggest stars

0:20:000:20:04

and he might give Eibhin the opportunity to sing in

0:20:040:20:07

his major City of Culture concert

0:20:070:20:10

alongside another local music legend - Glee star Damian McGinty.

0:20:100:20:14

As you might have heard, Phil expects pretty high standards,

0:20:180:20:21

that's why he's getting Damian to do it.

0:20:210:20:23

So... And obviously yourself, obviously.

0:20:230:20:27

LAUGHTER

0:20:270:20:28

No pressure.

0:20:280:20:29

But because he has such high standards,

0:20:300:20:32

he has requested that he has a rehearsal with you.

0:20:320:20:35

-How do you feel about it?

-Ahhhh!

0:20:350:20:38

-Derry's answer to Simon Cowell.

-Yes.

0:20:440:20:47

Too right, Eibhin. Phil has been there and done it all,

0:20:470:20:50

he's written Eurovision Song Contest winners

0:20:500:20:52

and number one chart hits,

0:20:520:20:54

he knows what it takes to make a life out of music.

0:20:540:20:57

This might be hard for you, but I want you to,

0:20:570:20:59

just off the bat without any piano,

0:20:590:21:00

I want you to sing me something right now.

0:21:000:21:02

OK, any requests?

0:21:050:21:07

Whatever you're comfortable with, whatever you think you can sing

0:21:070:21:10

with fluidity and in tune, preferably.

0:21:100:21:13

Preferably.

0:21:130:21:15

# I set out on a narrow way

0:21:180:21:22

# Many years ago

0:21:220:21:25

# Hoping I would find true love along the broken road

0:21:260:21:34

# But I got lost the time or two

0:21:340:21:37

# Wipe my brow and kept pushing through

0:21:370:21:41

# I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you. #

0:21:410:21:48

OK. You probably pitched that a bit high.

0:21:480:21:51

It was OK.

0:21:510:21:53

No, it wasn't OK because you were a bit flat on the top,

0:21:530:21:56

-because you pitched it too high.

-Yeah, OK.

0:21:560:21:59

And that's something which you'll have to learn.

0:21:590:22:01

Not only about pitching the right key,

0:22:010:22:03

but when it's not right, it's not right.

0:22:030:22:06

Did I hear that on a previous airing that you forgot your words?

0:22:060:22:10

I forget, yeah.

0:22:100:22:12

You see, that, at the level we're talking about,

0:22:120:22:15

the level that you want to aspire to - that is unforgivable.

0:22:150:22:20

I'm going to give you a chance.

0:22:220:22:24

I'm going to give you a chance to be part of these concerts

0:22:240:22:27

that we're doing with the Ulster Orchestra in The Venue.

0:22:270:22:29

Now, I'll tell you what I want you to do...

0:22:290:22:33

and on the day, or the day before when we're doing rehearsals

0:22:330:22:37

and we're doing sound checks et cetera,

0:22:370:22:39

I'll decide how much preparation you've done,

0:22:390:22:42

how hard you've worked and I'll decide

0:22:420:22:44

if you're good enough to carry that shot through

0:22:440:22:47

and how much I'm going to give you to sing.

0:22:470:22:50

So the ball's in your court.

0:22:500:22:51

The song that I want you to be part of is a new song that I've written -

0:22:510:22:55

A Bright Brand New Day.

0:22:550:22:57

# Sing it out, sing it clear

0:22:570:23:00

# Sing it so the world can hear

0:23:000:23:03

# It's a bright brand new day. #

0:23:050:23:10

-How much of that tune do you remember?

-Oh, ho, ho.

0:23:100:23:13

That's your homework, kiddo.

0:23:180:23:19

Learn that inside out.

0:23:190:23:21

Phew, I think he's even scarier than Simon Cowell.

0:23:220:23:25

Eibhin had better do his homework on this one.

0:23:250:23:28

Oh, my God!

0:23:370:23:40

Oh, my God!

0:23:400:23:42

It's the night of Micaela's performance

0:23:430:23:45

and a budding star deserves some star treatment.

0:23:450:23:48

I've sent a limo to whisk her to The Venue in style.

0:23:480:23:51

We weren't expecting this.

0:23:510:23:53

We were going to get a taxi, but we got a limo instead.

0:23:550:23:58

Thousands of people are already dancing the night away

0:24:140:24:17

and Micaela's Hit The Stage pal Hannah has turned up

0:24:170:24:20

in her best vintage gear to support her.

0:24:200:24:22

This is Micaela's big moment, she has got the song,

0:24:230:24:27

she has got the look, but can she deliver to the expectant crowd?

0:24:270:24:31

So just remember everything, just smile,

0:24:340:24:36

-nice movements and make sure you enjoy yourself.

-OK.

0:24:360:24:40

-Feel good?

-Yeah, feel good.

0:24:400:24:42

CHEERING

0:24:450:24:47

# Say a little prayer for you

0:24:510:24:55

# The moment I wake up

0:24:550:24:59

# Before I put on my make-up

0:24:590:25:03

# I say a little prayer for you

0:25:030:25:07

# While combing my hair now

0:25:070:25:10

# And wondering what dress to wear now

0:25:100:25:14

# I say a little prayer for you

0:25:140:25:17

# For ever, for ever you'll stay in my heart

0:25:170:25:21

# And I will love you

0:25:210:25:23

# For ever and ever we never will part

0:25:230:25:26

# Oh, how I love you

0:25:260:25:28

# Together, together that's how it must be

0:25:280:25:31

# To live without you

0:25:310:25:32

# Would only mean heartbreak for me

0:25:320:25:36

# Nobody but me

0:25:360:25:38

# For ever and ever

0:25:380:25:40

# Will love you

0:25:420:25:43

# For ever and ever we never will part

0:25:430:25:46

# Oh, how I love you

0:25:460:25:48

# Together, together that is how it must be

0:25:480:25:51

# To live without you

0:25:510:25:53

# Would only mean heartbreak for me

0:25:530:25:57

# My darling, believe me

0:25:590:26:03

# For me, there is no-one but you

0:26:030:26:10

# So please love me too

0:26:100:26:13

# Said I'm in love with you

0:26:130:26:17

# So answer my prayer now, darling

0:26:170:26:21

# And answer my prayer now, darling

0:26:210:26:25

# Yeah... #

0:26:250:26:28

CHEERING

0:26:310:26:32

It's a stunning performance, she made it all look so easy.

0:26:350:26:39

Well done, Micaela.

0:26:390:26:40

Yes!

0:26:440:26:46

I'm pretty buzzing about the whole experience,

0:26:460:26:48

Micaela done so, so well.

0:26:480:26:50

All the hard work, all the practise just paid off,

0:26:500:26:52

and that's what the key thing that I was trying to get across

0:26:520:26:55

over these couple of weeks - it's just when you work really hard

0:26:550:26:58

at something, you will achieve something from it.

0:26:580:27:00

It didn't even seem like it was me.

0:27:030:27:05

It just felt like I just walked on and everyone just looked up at me

0:27:050:27:09

and I looked down at everybody

0:27:090:27:10

and I just felt like a completely different person.

0:27:100:27:13

Some of your adoring fans.

0:27:130:27:15

-Did you see me dancing?

-I did!

0:27:150:27:18

Thank you. Thank you for coming.

0:27:180:27:20

-Come here.

-Good girl.

0:27:210:27:24

Can I do it again? Go on, please?

0:27:240:27:27

Next time - I find out all about Irish music

0:27:300:27:33

from fiddle player Conal.

0:27:330:27:35

Hannah hits the stage at a major CBBC event.

0:27:350:27:38

Hi, everybody, having a good time?

0:27:380:27:40

And we find out if Eibhin has done enough to even make it onto stage.

0:27:420:27:47

I'm so sorry, I'm really terrified.
