You show us where we go.

This is Tilly and she is two years old.

Hurry!

-Hi.

-Hi, Tilly. Good morning!

Tilly likes to come to the fruit and veg shop every day,

to get a banana.

Shall we go and find a banana? Find the bananas.

Where can we find them?

You get your banana.

-Banana.

-Banana. That one?

-Get that one.

-That banana, yummy!

Is that yellow?

Shall we open it up?

Right.

-Apples!

-That's right, that's an apple.

What colour is that? Is it red?

Perhaps we'll take that home and put it in the fruit bowl, should we?

This is Tilly's memory box. It helps her remember all the exciting things

that happen. See if you can spot anything going in it.

Look! Can you see the tall flowers?

-And these ones are little, aren't they?

-Little!

-Little, and they're big flowers.

-Big flowers.

Yeah, and these are little ones, and they are all soft and round.

-They are so soft!

-They are!

Today, Tilly will do something new for the first time.

But what will it be?

-Dada! I'm here!

-Hello, Tilly. Have you come to see Grandad's garden?

Tilly has come to see her grandad at his allotment.

This is where he grows all his fruit and veg.

They are all coming through now. These are potatoes, Tilly.

-And in there, they are going to be peas, when they grow.

-Peas!

-Yeah!

A garden is a place where all kinds of plants

and flowers are grown from seeds or bulbs.

They grow in lots of ways - in a garden, in a greenhouse,

or as a pot plant in the house.

All plants and flowers need water and sunlight in order to grow.

Have a look in the leaves. What's in there?

Oh, look at that nice cauliflower.

Do you think we should pick that for Mummy? Take it home to be cooked?

Shall we take it home? It's yummy!

-There we are, look at that! That's nice, isn't it?

-Look at that!

Look at all the leaves.

Shall I take the leaves off and put them in the compost bin?

The compost bin is where all the garden waste goes.

It is made into soil, to help the plants grow.

-Have you finished your banana?

-We'll put the skin in the compost bin.

-There we go, you put that in there.

-Put it in the compost bin.

-We're finished with it. Lovely.

-That's it.

Oh, it's smelly, isn't it?

-It's smelly!

-It is, yes. There we are, we'll put the lid back on.

There we are.

Now, that will rot down and then Grandad can dig it in his garden.

The first thing into Tilly's memory box is a compost bin.

Tilly wants to make her own garden at home.

Can you see?

So, she has come to a giant garden to get some ideas.

What's that? Is that a waterfall?

Can you see the water? How's it going? Splash!

-Aah!

-Wow!

-Can you see it? Do you want to look?

Wow!

Some gardens have water fountains.

But these fountains are huge!

Watch the water.

Can you see the water? Look, there's lots more!

Isn't it pretty?

Shall we go and find another one?

-Let's have a look at this. What's this one?

-Can you see your reflection?

-Touch.

-Is it making your hands wet?

-Look!

Are your hands getting wet?

-Is the water going round and round?

-Is it getting dizzy?

Can you put your hand in? Ohh!

-Look!

-Oh, splash!

-Ready, steady...

Splish, splash, splosh!

Oh, Tilly, those water fountains look so much fun.

You'd better get dry!

The second thing to go into the memory box is the water fountain.

Some plants need pots to grow in,

so, Tilly has come to the craft area to make a plant pot.

What plant pot would you like, Tilly? Which one?

-That one?

-Thank you.

-What colour of these would you like?

-Oh, look!

Would you like black, or would you like green?

Shall we have the green one for our plant pot?

Tilly, would you like to stick some green on it?

-Stick, stick, stick!

-That's right, well done.

-Do you want some jewels?

-Look at that!

-There you are. Stick, stick!

-Can you stick it on?

-Here's Tilly's flower.

-Tilly, what do you say?

-Thank you.

-Can you stick it on?

Is that your pink flower?

And green grass for your flowers to grow.

That looks colourful, Tilly.

I'm sure it'll look great in your garden.

The third thing to go into the memory box is Tilly's plant pot.

There's lots of jobs to do in the garden.

The gardener is mowing the lawn, just like Dad does at home.

Shall we go and have a look in the trees?

-Run, run, run!

-Run, run, run! Off we go!

Should we go and have a look at the blossom?

Look at the blossom! Blossom only grows once a year, in springtime.

Perhaps Daddy can pull it down for you.

-Can you pick some?

-Shall we pick a piece?

-There you are.

-Can you smell it?

Spring, summer, autumn and winter are our four seasons.

There are different plants and flowers

that grow throughout the year.

Tilly has come to the garden centre

to choose some flowers for her garden.

Down here, see what we can find. Can you see anything?

There's a pink one.

What else can you see? Can you find any more?

What colour flowers would you like in your garden, Tilly? Red...

-Do you like those?

-That one!

That's a good choice, Tilly.

-These are forget-me-nots.

That's right, you need soil to put the flowers in.

Oh, it's heavy. Help me.

Where is Daddy going to put it?

-Shall I put it in here?

-On there, that's right. Shall we go and pay?

-Go and pay!

-Have you got all the plants?

-Plant here.

-We've got to pay over here.

-On the counter, there we go.

I think these flowers will look beautiful in your garden, Tilly.

-Well done. Give that to the lady.

The fourth thing into the memory box are the garden flowers.

Are you putting your gloves on, Tilly?

It's now time for Tilly to make her garden.

She puts gloves on so her hands don't get dirty.

-Shall we put some soil in?

-Soil!

-More in there.

A good plant pot has lots of soil in, to help the flowers grow.

Put it in. Wow, that's lots!

Are you putting the soil into the flowerpot that you made?

Flower in.

-Here's your flower.

-Look!

I'll hold it, you put the soil in.

Well done.

That's it.

-Put some soil around the plant.

-Can you put it round?

Put it around.

Tilly packs the soil around the flower to keep it safe.

Yellow and pink flowers, they look really nice!

-Big hole this time.

Oh, look! Well done, Tilly.

Watch what Mummy does. Can see the roots?

All the pretty roots, look.

It will drink all the water.

The flowers need a good drink of water to grow big and strong.
