Welcome to Newsround,

well, Newsround behind the scenes.

We're going to take you on a tour to show you

what happens every day to bring you your news on TV and online.

Newsround goes out every day of the week

and we've been broadcasting since 1972.

That's over 40 years.

Every morning, the team meets to discuss the day's top stories

and come up with ideas to keep you guys up to date

with the latest news, sport and entertainment.

Come and join in Newsround's planning meeting.

Once we've decided on the stories were going to cover,

it's time to do our research

cos it's really important to get our facts right.

Next, we write a script and find video footage

to help us tell the story.

Sometimes we use experts to get their specific opinions

about certain stories.

Also, we use BBC reporters who are on the ground,

so they can give us information about exactly what is going on.

Meanwhile back at Newsround HQ,

the web team are busy writing stories, making video

and reading all of your fantastic comments

that you send us via our chat pages.

So, it's getting to four o'clock.

It's nearly time for transmission.

All the reports are almost ready,

so it's time to head over to the studio.

Here it is, the Newsround studio.

The side you don't usually get to see.

There's the Blue Peter studio.

Now, CBBC attracts some big names

and this is the very famous corridor

that they'll be walking down when they're on Blue Peter, CBBC

and, of course, all the fantastic guests that we get on Newsround.

This is the production control room

or, as we call it, the gallery.

It's where all the important people sit

and make sure we got on air.

Lots of people working here. We've got someone

who's in charge of sound. So, they play things

like the music that you hear on the opening titles.

Further on down here at the front,

we've got the producer who's making sure

that all the words are correct in today's bulletin.

This is Jay. He is currently counting down to make sure

that we're on air at the right time.

We've got the director as well, Tracy,

who's in charge of making sure that all the shots are correct.

And we've also got someone in charge of lighting.

They call the shots when it comes to the technical details.

So, it gets really busy.

We've got to go because Leah's about to start rehearsals.
